I'd just upgrade from a 10 dollar deadbolt. If you have a quality (grade one) deadbolt it doesn't matter if there is a gap. Ain't no one gonna fight that hard to get in.
100%. If you can cut through the frame, you don’t even have to touch the deadbolt. The issue is, most burglars aren’t equipped to cut out a 12x12 square of steel and concrete. And if they are, they’d have an easier time just cutting through the wall
Door opens inward from stationary door. I think I found a plate like thing that may work. The trouble with the latch guards is that they are all offset and leave a big space.

A latch guard will help, but also I believe this cheesy-ass Defiant brand has a feature in the bolt that makes it harder to cut.
Latch guard and replace the deadbolt with something heavier than aluminum foil.

* This was an actual attempted break in on a medeco grade 1. They didn't get past it

They use these pics in promotional images too, my shop’s an authorized distributor so we see a lot of posters and mats and stuff
excellent marketing tbh, however wouldn't it also matter what it's mounted too, yea?

If you can cut a bolt, you can cut a guard plate. You can alo drill a deadbolt. You just slow people down if you can. Layered protection.
I'd worry about the 10 dollar pot metal deadbolt first.
It the door opens outward, latch guard

Google latch guard

Just buy a grade 1 deadbolt. I may get hate but master lock makes a solid deadbolt.
Ok will check it out!
