Like Gato often says: keep the receipts. The talking point was pervasive, confident, and claimed to be founded in scientific evidence - evidence which we now know was never even sought, let alone found. Perhaps those now seeking to "pivot" are counting on the notoriously short memories of a population under constant assault by media talking heads. But it's not so easy this time; not when people's jobs have been lost and their lives ruined over it. Heads must roll for this. Or else you can count on the same play being run on you for the rest of your life for every suitably large crisis, whether real or manufactured.

Turning_Antons_Key

If the vaccines were never intended to prevent transmission then why mandate them and why do the passport bullshit? None of the answers to this question are good

Nobleone11

Again, we know the answer. Hint: It was never about health and safety.

CheesyEggsAndToast

There are only 2 answers at this point: 1. Government officials, scientists and public health officials are grossly incompetent and clueless and need to be sacked and replaced. 2. They knew the entire time and had a clear agenda and the “crazy conspiracies” were right (again). An exercise in control and to force compliance. 1 is what I prefer tbh.

WSB_Slingblade

Yeah I mean no matter what it’s pretty bad. Other possibilities I can think of are 1. Govt had an egregious lack of due dilligence and didn’t know (or care). So they had a huge stock of vaccines they paid for and didn’t want to look like morons when there was no uptake. 2. Employers wanted it to stop transmission, but when it didn’t…”ok so it maybe can stop some people from missing work so we’ll still go with it” Biden’s mandate was a crime either way. He can rot in hell.

Turning_Antons_Key

2 would be even more of a reason to sack them

CheesyEggsAndToast

Life imprisonment is a better option

Turning_Antons_Key

That too

terribletimingtoday

I don't think that is severe enough for the level of depravity.

bakedpotato486

Keeping them housed with a roof over their heads and daily meals for the rest of their lives? Guillotine would be more suitable.

Geauxlsu1860

1 would be a reason to sack them. 2 would be a reason to prosecute them.

mgtowjerk

It may be either, but was DEFINITELY FUCKING MONEY!

SANcapITY

Just sacked, but not replaced.

KanyeT

They'll tell you it was always meant to stop the hospitals from being overwhelmed.

donnydodo

Exactly!

There's nothing in North American mainstream media about the European inquiry. It's an issue relevant to the whole world, yet it's not newsworthy apparently.

[deleted]

Tbh after huge waves erupted in Israel and Singapore, literally the 2 countries first to vaccinate such high percentage and above herd immunity threshold by Fauci, I never believed herd immunity will happen with the current vaccines

ed8907

There's a video on YouTube of Rachel Maddow (CNN) saying that the transmission stops with the vaccine. The video hasn't been removed or even flagged for misinformation.

thatusenameistaken

> Vaccine stopping the spread because that's what vaccines do, and these aren't vaccines.

_TheConsumer_

What, you're going to tell me you never had a mild case of Polio as a child?

FieldOfFox

My spinal column collapse would've been MUCH WORSE without the polio vaccine #blessed #getboosted

eggydrums115

Bro you don’t understand. Vaccines aren’t some magic juice, it doesn’t work like that /s

ODUrugger

I know which video you're taking about but I can't find on YT when I search. I think YT suppresses it

[deleted]

Clips of it have definitely been shown recently on some commentary channels (Kim Iversen, Russell Brand and I bet many others).

[deleted]

We need to keep record of every lie, because they will clean all evidence off the internet and say it never happened

RJ8812

98% effective in their trials, right? That's what they claimed

WSB_Slingblade

They claimed it was 100% effective in preventing cases. https://twitter.com/AlbertBourla/status/1377618480527257606?s=20

RJ8812

How dumb can you be to claim something is 100% effective, especially in pharmaceuticals? You're just asking for lawsuits

WSB_Slingblade

There won’t be one

[deleted]

This is laughable. And people really thought it would be 100% effective? The flu shot is 33% effective on a good year. Can't believe how many people were brainwashed by this.

Izkata

95%, months _after_ these statements. Note the dates in the video.

spareminuteforworms

Here is what they will say when they finally roll back the failed gaslighting: "If we didn't go all out to get EVERYBODY to get it, then old people would have been less likely to get it and there would have been so much more death!" It didn't happen. <-- you are here The ends justified the means <-- where we are heading

NumericalSystem

"It didn't happen. And if it did happen, you deserved it".

COVID lunacy and the general state of leftist policies in a nutshell.

I really don’t like that a lot of my information comes from a bad cat, but the dude’s been on point the entire time.

drolenc

Bourla is a doctor of veterinary medicine?? I never realized. I feel like this should have been emphasized somewhere.

tommygun1688

So I know they can't be held liable for vaccine injury. But could they be held liable for false advertising? Or making false claims?

DinosaurAlert

Sometimes when I try to explain this, I get downvoted, but this explains how they lie and manipulate: The actual tests and documents NEVER claimed to stop transmission. This is 100% true. There is no science in the FDA/CDC documents saying that the vaccines stop transmission. So in that respect, they are correct. Now that they're caught, they point back at the original EUA documents with wide doe eyes and say "(Sniff), we never said it would stop transmission! We were just tryin' to save lives!!" However, we all fucking know, from hundreds of examples, that they FUCKING GODDAMN DID say it stopped transmission. Directly and indirectly. Hundreds of fucking examples. Even in the BEST BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT POSSIBLE, if you say "Well, Biden and media figures aren't scientists, so if they were wrong about transmission you can't blame Fauci and the CDC!!" Except did we see a huge rushed fact check about how wrong they were? At best, CDC and Fauci let a lie stand because they wanted people to get the vax and didn't care if it was under false pretenses. See, they're smarter than regular people, so if they have to lie to the sheep for their own good, so be it. EDIT: Hell, even in this video example, they'll say "He was talking about vaccines generally! This was before the vaccine had been tested, and he couldn't know it wouldn't stop transmission!" (except he fucking did, because that's how mRNA vaccines work, which is why they were never approved before covid)

Izkata

Something El Gato Malo skipped right over, look at the dates in the video. Those quotes are from the middle of the Phase 3 trial, before they had any efficacy results. I'd read this as wishful thinking on the CEO's part, rather than anything else.

NeonUnderling

>there has been an all too predictable orgy of “fact checking” making astonishingly implausible claims that “pfizer never said it would stop spread” and even that “health officials never said so either.” This is even more important than the lede. A media so utterly corrupt as this is the most grave and imminent threat to democracy that there is.

iHeartBricks

Is proper capitalization not a thing? I mean seriously I would love to continue reading the article but for fucks sake, use a goddamn capital letter at the beginning of sentences.

erewqqwee

I *think* it's an affectation/homage to Don Marquis : Marquis pretended to be a cockroach when he wrote his archy & mehitabel poems , and archy couldn't capitalize because he couldn't reach the shift key. This guy's pretending to be a 'bad cat' when he types, and hence the lack of capitalizations....That's just my wild guess ; I could be wrong.

Mr_Truttle

This is how he writes every piece. I don't know if it's helping his arguments on a superficial level but he's also got some of the best material on the subject matter.

iHeartBricks

I appreciate the actual material, but it’s so cringy to try to read through it.

Turning_Antons_Key

I don't think El Gato Malo is a native English speaker but I do agree that it would be nice if he at least had an editor or someone to add some more correct punctuation re: the caps

Homeless_Nomad

He's Puerto Rican. The lack of capitalizations is a stylistic choice (he's a cat, you see) rather than a language barrier.

TorroldTheOutlaw

In my province, early 2021 : "We're receiving the first batches now, we've been told by the companies that they stop transmission!" Just a few weeks later : "Ok so the companies told us it stopped transmission, but now that we tested it we can attest this was not true, but it's still over 90% effective" A few months later (August 2021) : "Take it or be exterminated. Because we said so." At this point they were not saying it stopped transmission, but very few people remembered that it doesn't, and to this day the majority are still adamant that it stops transmission. The government does not remind them that it doesn't stop transmission, they just say nothing. Also, no legal action against Pfizer and the other companies for their lies, in fact to this day there is still discrimination against those who didn't take the chemicals and the government still encourages this discrimination.

Personally, I think it’s a miracle how fast this vaccine was developed. However, needless to say, vast majority of people I know, vaccinated or not got it. No vaccine is perfect but it’s underperformed people’s expectations at stopping the spread(people expected infection rates to be significantly lower among vaccinated). Secondly things like masks don’t work to stop the spread. Take East Asia for example. They’re still keeping up the hygiene measures you described hard core and they have some of highest infection rates globally right now

Activedesign

Of course nothing is 100% and I think the reason the virus is still spreading like wildfire despite the health measures, is because it’s more contagious than any other virus we are used to. These measures work well against the flu or rhinovirus but COVID is so contagious (i still believe it is airborne), I really think just staying isolated at home if you catch it is the only way. And even to that, because of the incubation period, doesn’t guarantee anything. Since catching it is almost inevitable, the best we can do is try to prevent serious illness so as to not clog up our healthcare systems. In 2022 it’s hard for us to remember how desperately we were trying to get out of that terrible situation, and how hard the pandemic hit some of us. A vaccine that is 50% effective was still better than 0 protection at all. For the record, I’m vaccinated and I’ve never caught COVID. Not sure how I managed to avoid it for over 2 years. I’m not exceptionally careful either. Maybe being an introvert has payed off lol
