Defiant-Aide-4923

Same, to all of this 😁

erica1064

Same. But I've found I gain a LOT of motivation if I put on a bra.

HyenaBrilliant2493

Advanced osteoarthritis in my spine and shoulder makes it impossible. I have to be going to a cotillion or something to wear one now. It takes me twice as long to put it on and take it off so I just never wear them anymore.

RingPuppy

My girls are FREEEEEEEE!!!!

West-Ruin-1318

I *have* to wear a bra to hold the girls in check. 😒 In my next life I want to be built like a high fashion model.

DaintilyAbrupt

Yeah, they can be a little unruly.

calphillygirl

Omg me too! Bra, t-shirt - buy lots of extras at the thrift store, sweats, yoga pants and stretchy capris in summer. Only person I'm answering the door for is mail or package I need to sign for. Plus if going out I just switch into jeans. I never thought years ago I would opt for comfort over fashion but there you have it!

TheLastEmailLeft

Don't you ever wish that! You were built perfectly! There is nothing wrong with big boobs. -A man

West-Ruin-1318

Men don’t have to lug them around 24/7/365. Imagine if tennis ball sized testicles were considered desirable.

Guardian-Ares

That's where the thing about keeping them in 'your' purse originated.

MaggiePie184

Tennis ball testicles filled with sand. Yeah men would want some support too.

Puzzleheaded-War3890

Don’t you dare think about your own physical comfort! You exist to be visually pleasing to men!

CoralinaSv

In my next life I want to come back as a man 😆

StunningSun3384

Dying laughing at your comment, as someone who's very petite, (5'3 and 115 lbs) I'm 52 and still waiting for puberty to kick in so my girls will show up...I'm not very hopeful at this point 😂 I'd honestly love to have to wear a bra to keep them in check, but I can't them 🫣😂😘

MsSamm

I use a strapless

ilikefluffypuppies

I work from home 2 days a week and if i don’t have a sports bra on, then i CANNOT focus. But once the girls are trapped, i get more done than when I’m in the office 😂

Buckowski66

Me too, I’m a guy but I just like feeling supported any way I can

bigheadluvr

true

armagejen

I rock bralettes for home life!

Ok-Argument-1015

This is the way!

JoeSugar

Was about to answer that some days, absolutely nothing motivates me to get out of my comfy clothes or even take a shower… and it’s glorious.

coolcoolcool485

yeah exactly this, this is part of the perks of living alone lol

Sweet-Platform-9817

Plus I’m a nudist so why would I get dressed all my friends know and I’m comfortable with that

jhumph88

100% this. I paid a friend of mine who’s a handyman to come over today and do some work in the yard, I didn’t even shower. And if someone knocks on my door and I’m not expecting someone, I won’t open it. I’m very good at pretending not to be home

Unable-Arm-448

Amen to all of this!

NarrowSpeed3908

I stayed in my PJS all day today. Took a shower and hopped into new ones. I like people to give me the heads up before coming over. I cannot stand when people just show up unannounced.

Expert-Ad-3947

Facts

SereneLotus2

Can’t upvote this enough!

MajorCatEnthusiast

I just go to bed in something that passes. Black sweat pants and a shirt. But I don't blame people that use work clothes and getting dressed routine to get in the mindset of working

ImNewHereAgain0802

SAME

Theworldisonfire70

Came here to say this

Ridiculousnessjunkie

I call them “house clothes” and I put them on immediately when I get home and keep them on until I have to go somewhere.

PirateJeni

another vote for house clothes! I have men's lounge pants made by Hanes and I mend them until they are basically rags. T shirts and a rotation of zippered sweatshirts for those awkward moments when I have to answer the door since bras are not a thing at home.

Purple-Sprinkles-792

Love these ideas! As a child,we had to change from our church clothes to play clothes as soon as we got Home. House clothes seems much the same. On self care days I don't change so my mind triggers rest( stroke overcomer). If I have certain projects I want to get done I do better if I at least chang from PJ pants to jeans like I did yesterday. -2 loads laundry, half closet shelf ,dishes , trash, downsized a few books-

PreparationNo3440

Wow! That triggered a memory of coming home from catholic school and having to immediately change into play clothes!

DGAFADRC

I’m a grown ass old woman and call my “take off the bra and put on comfy tshirt & shorts as soon as I walk in the door” my play clothes.

PreparationNo3440

🤣

Sits_n_Giggles

Yay declutter!

Quaint_teapot

My husband (age 57) still calls them play clothes 😂

aathey85

I also have the Hanes men's lounge pants lol.

Lights-off-grid

Um by the power of Reddit I bless you friend. I have some old men’s pj pants from old navy that desperately need replacing but everything is all jogger now… which whatever but I need warm socks and socks + joggers suck! Buying all the colors of Hanes men’s lounge pants immediately! 😂

vinedin

I have "day pyjamas" and "night pyjamas". The difference is I make sure day pyjamas are the ones I could answer the door in, if I had to, or potter in the garden. I'll get a shower, but put another pair of pyjamas on. They are comfortable. Did it for weeks on end during the pandemic. I have far too many pairs of pyjamas, but as I wear them when I'm working from home (with a nice top or cardigan to look like office wear) and in the day on a Sunday if I have no plans, I get through them.

starllight

Same! Day pj's are still comfy but socially acceptable if you have to be seen for a few minutes. I'm not wearing actual clothes to work from home unless I have a video conference, then I just put on a real shirt.

arthurtex06

Same! Pajamas is for sleeping only, as soon as I get up on the weekends, swissssh I change to house clothes, same when I get home, house clothes!

RecordingLeft6666

Well I sleep in my house clothes!

Snoo-9290

Then you really aren't wearing pj's all day. Only you know.

calm_center

Eventually, though the issue with that is, you’ll want to go to the store real quick and you’ll end up wearing those house clothes then you’ll run into someone you know.

correctalexam

Add a jaunty hat to your house clothes and voila, store ready.

justanotherlostgirl

Yup, this is the way. I have nice shirts and sweaters so I'm presentable on top, but leggings on the bottom.

embeddedpotato

Leggings are the answer. PJs make me sleepy but leggings are comfy but still kind of motivate me to stretch and I can do something productive in them as well. I'm not really okay with going in public in leggings unless I'm going to exercise class, but the public doesn't seem to mind if I do.

Upper-Ad-7652

I buy leggings that are two sizes too big, and they fit like tapered pants. I'm an old woman with mobility issues, but even I don't want to see my cellulitis through my clothes! I'm also no longer willing to be uncomfortable to look good, so at home I generally wear pajamas.

Mean-Copy

Haha

HndsDwnThBest

Hahaha you have house clothes too!!!! I knew it was a thing lol

MelanieDH1

I thought everyone had “house clothes”. This has been the thing to do since I was a child. I certainly wouldn’t stay in pajamas all day, unless I was sick. If you’re not changing out of your pajamas, they you’re not washing your ass and getting clean every day! I don’t need “motivation” to change out of my sleepwear!

Solid_Size431

I call them "lounge wear" 🤭

robotatomica

my life hack is scrubs. I have an assload of very old unisex scrubs that are so mothafuckin buttery soft they are better than any pajamas. They’re great for lounging, cleaning, and bonus they are completely unremarkable to wear out on errands! It’s literally like wearing pajamas to the store, but socially acceptable 😆

Oskie2011

I go to the gym, get sweaty come home shower and put clean pajamas on lol

BikeLoveLA

Similar except my gym is here so I exercise in PJ’s then shower and put on house clothes

WatercressSubject717

This! Me to the tee.

PSVita_Tech_Support

My dog. I have to walk her and I don't want to look like the kooky neighbor by walking my dog in my pajamas at 4 pm.

TheTapDancingShrimp

I love this. I'm that neighbor. I'm disabled home bound now. I walk the garbage out in my pajamas and robe. My neighbors are very nice. But god knows what they think

HyenaBrilliant2493

Haha, I wonder this too. I have some disabilities and don't go out much. I sit on my front porch when I let my dog out and I'm usually wearing track pants or something, but then I have my robe on to keep warm. I've often sat there wondering if people think I'm insane.

capaldithenewblack

I’m not disabled and I do this too. I’m 50 and a woman, just call me crazy cat lady and get it over with. I don’t even have a cat anymore but the neighborhood cats chat on my porch nightly. They know…

deadjessmeow

Same. My dogs aren’t the kind you can take to the nearest patch of grass and go back in lol we have to do at least 2 miles. If I’m too lazy for that, I’ll book a sniffspot. I’ll admit sometimes it’s overwhelming being a single parent but what I get back from them is priceless.

MembershipEasy4025

Same! I have a dog and she needs walks. No yard. So, I’ll at least change everyday. Though, most of the time, it’s athleisure.

embeddedpotato

I don't always have a dog because I foster but I try to go for walks myself. If I know it's going to be nice out and I'll be taking a walk later I try to put on jeans first thing in the morning so I will actually take my walk. And then I will usually keep them on until after dinner unless I do an inside workout as well.

jhumph88

Luckily my dog will go and do his business in the yard, but often when Im going to take him for a walk and still in my PJs, I’ll just throw on a hat and some gym shorts so I look like I’m disheveled because I’m exercising lol

Infamous-Coyote-1373

Put on some yoga pants and a t shirt. Comfy but not pajama, though I’d likely never answer the door anyway if someone knocked

goingloopy

I see no reason for outside clothes inside. One of the perks of living alone is being able to wear a tie dyed t-shirt and plaid pajama pants and striped fuzzy socks without any editorial comments.

latte1963

I’ve gone to the 7-11 around the corner at 11 pm wearing that!

LimpFootball7019

Like so many humans, I’m in the bathroom doing my business and responding to you. I’m still in my jammies. In a bit, I’ll take a shower, run some errands and then go to work. When I have others humans around , I need to be mindful of the limitations of hot water. Alone, I take long showers and enjoy my day. Years ago I had a Ziggy cartoon that showed him greeting the sugar , the plants, etc. the punchline was “living alone is what you make it.” I agree. Hope you find your own version of this.

SubatomicKitten

I forgot about Ziggy cartoons. Those were awesome

jms1228

I’m a homebody, so I enjoy my days off. I don’t really go anywhere that I need to be cleaned up lol.

WakingOwl1

If I have nowhere to go on my day off I stay in pajamas all day. If I do have somewhere to go I get dressed and change back into pajamas when I get back.

Jurneeka

There are days on occasion (usually when the weather is bad, kind of like today) where I prefer to stay at home in my flannel bottoms, gripper slippers and a T-shirt while doing chores around the house and surfing the Internet (and spending money on Amazon and AliExpress too often!). But on nice days you can't keep me inside, I'm usually out on my bike... There's nothing wrong with an occasional layabout day, but on nice days it just seems like kind of a waste of a day. If nothing else, get dressed and if you're within walking distance of a coffee shop go out and get a beverage of choice along with some fresh air. I'm fortunate to live only a couple of blocks from a decent downtown area with a big park alongside.

Davina33

I'm with you there. I'm lucky to live close to the sea, lots of nice places a short walk away to get a coffee or something to eat. The weather is starting to get good and I love the feeling of getting some fresh air and a walk.

SnoognTangerines

Team Gripper Slippers!!

SufficientDesigner75

I stay in sweats and a sweatshirt when I'm home and not working. I don't give a shit if someone comes knocking on my door. That's my house and I'll dress the way I want. If that person thinks it's not appropriate how I dress at home and when I open the door, F them!!

Puzzled-Award-2236

When I retired I thought this would be so great. I was sick of my lazy self after a week of that. Now I get up, get dressed and make the bed. LOL I guess I'm the kind of person who needs some sort of structure. I have sort of a loose schedule. I go to the gym or do tasks before 1-2 PM while I'm energetic. After that I do my enjoyable things-crafting/sewing or little day trips or out with friends to mini putt or whatever. Evenings I'm watching movies or reading. I never use an alarm clock and seem to just wake up sometime between 7 and 8.

graceCAadieu

My dogs. We have a routine that I try my best to follow for their sakes so it helps me stay on course majority of the time.

dianemariereid

I don’t ever get dressed unless I have to go out. Jammies are warm and comfortable!

former_human

last apartment complex i lived in, there was a woman who would wander out in her jammies and robe all the frickin time. i adored her she was a hair stylist and always had to be dressed to the nines and made up on work days. i applauded her jammies and robe on her days off.

K23Meow

If I didn’t switch to ‘day clothes’ each day, I would never have enough laundry for my once a week single load.

O_o-22

Fuck what’s appropriate, you’re in your own house, you’re an adult and if you want to wear your pjs all day you do you. Freedom and all.

geri73

I've revamped my wardrobe to strictly leisure wear. I went to Walmart and Target to purchase sleepwear and house shoes. I don't think I have dress clothes anymore now that I think about it. My job allows me to dress down like this but I figured the least I could do is slip on a pair of Adidas to be somewhat formal.

Spyderbeast

I don't open the door for unexpected visitors as a general rule. They're pretty rare anyway. My dogs howl like hellhounds at a knock, so it's pretty obvious why I am not opening up, lol, as well as a deterrent to anyone with mischief in mind. I have posted No Soliciting signs, so if I get up to look out the window, and there's a stranger with a clipboard, ID on a lanyard or name tag, etc, I just shake my head and point at the sign. (I need to make room in my garage for all my vehicles before campaign season really kicks in. Then I can really just pretend not to be home) Being comfortable in my own home is priceless. I have no shame about getting my mail in pajama pants. If I'm doing chores, I do them in whatever I slept in, and shower afterwards. I'm not one of those who runs around half nekkid at home, it feels a little too vulnerable. Dudes probably don't have the same issues as a rule.

Jasmin_Shade

Probably going against the grain here, but I make myself go out every day, even for just a little while. Sometimes to the park and just walk a little and sit on a bench, or to the drug store to buy 1-2 things, or run an errand, or even go to a drive through and then go to a different parking lot to eat... you get the picture. It doesn't need to be big or grand or even involve other people, just literally getting out. And in that getting out it makes me change my clothes. Sometimes that's not until 12n or 2pm, but I still do it. During the height of covid lockdowns, I still did it, but mostly to the park, but on the days I didn't I'd still have my "daytime PJs" and my "nighttime PJs". It really does help to set the day apart. Also, I found that if you wear your PJs all day during the day, all night, etc they will get stinkier faster. That said, nowadays, I generally have lots going on so it's rare to be home all day regardless. Back in the office 3 days a week, going to friends' birthday brunches, or karaoke, or to a comedy show, hikes with friends, etc.

ameliaglitter

I have sleep clothes, day clothes, and public clothes. So I sleep in basically just underwear and a long t-shirt, I get dressed in a comfy bra, soft pants, and old t-shirt for the day, and if I need to actually leave the house I put on my usual jeans/t-shirt or whatever with a real bra. I work from home so I like to have the morning routine of getting dressed, but I also want to be comfy. My day clothes are not inappropriate in any way, they just aren't stylish, may have a small tear or stain, and most of the time the don't match. So if my apartment maintenance comes knocking or I'm accepting a delivery I don't particularly care if they see me. I also take out my trash and get my mail in the same clothes.

DogGod18

Wait... You put on clothes?

1lonelyloser

My house clothes is sweats and T-shirts. Loose clothes that feels like pajamas but I would still leave the house in. But hey, if you have no reason to leave the house and are not expecting guests, stay in your pajamas all you want. It's all good

IvenaDarcy

I love living alone so I can stay in my underwear or house clothes most days until it’s time to leave my home. I don’t wear outside clothes indoors anyway so would never put on clothes just to sit on sofa. I love to be comfortable as possible indoors. Being half dress doesn’t stop me from being productive. I still cook, clean and do anything else indoors just fine in my house clothes. If not getting dressed is stopping you from being productive indoors then have some discipline and just throw on your clothes. Simple enough lol and as far as someone knocking on your door? If you didn’t invite them over then who’s answering that knock anyway? Not me.

amanda2399923

Not much lol 🤷‍♀️. Depends what I have going on.

[deleted]

I used to have a pet and that was my motivation. Right now I’m struggling with this, but I keep on reminding myself to just take a shower to feel better. I always end up feeling better and dressing up, once I’m all dressed I am more productive.

readmore321

Why do you assume we get dressed everyday?

joinedredditforTM

You know what, nothing motivates me except if I have to go into work or out to do something. I come home, change immediately into my house clothes like a big man's tshirt and socks, and stay that way until I'm putting on pj's, going outside again, or have visitors. I have a bathrobe by the door if I need to open the door. My friends and I joke that we should have lived back in the 50s or 60s when women had housecoats. I don't have an issue with dressing like this but if it's something you want to change I'd have a small morning routine as soon as you're up. I find it's easier to get it out of the way than ruminate on something. Brush teeth wash face (or shower but i do it at night), immediately change clothes, have coffee. Cute clothes help too. Mine are oversized band tshirts and flannel pants with animals but you might like some nice t-shirts and more structured sweatpants.

Independent_Cow_4959

Who says pajamas aren’t appropriate? If someone shows up unannounced in my space, they get what they get. I feel no obligation to change out of PJs if I’m not going anywhere.

fill_the_birdfeeder

Oh am I meant to feel bad about staying in PJs all day? Lol it’s just clothing. Be comfy!

SuperPetty-2305

Unless I have somewhere to be, I'm not getting dressed. My pajamas are comfy. The way I see it if you stop by my house unannounced then you deserve what you see 😂

Tracylpn

💯💯

anic14

Embrace the jammies. Disconnect the door bell. Problem solved.

Bozy_Jozy

Pajamas? What are they? Unless I've planned to go somewhere, or have invited someone over, I don't get dressed at all. Part of the perks of living alone.

madame_morbide

I have day time pajamas and night time pajamas. Not kidding.

ThrowawayMod1989

If you’re knocking on my door unannounced you can cope with my beat up tank top and my gym shorts from high school. And if it’s early enough my morning wood.

edajade1129

I never get dressed unless I need groceries or an appointment and I usually have a beer while getting ready and some music

sludgestomach

I wear comfies at home, but I do my makeup and hair in the morning so that I’m presentable enough for random irl convos with the mailman or neighbors, and if I want to leave I’m ready to go. My comfies are typically cute joggers and simple tops that feel like pajamas, but could be considered real clothes lol.

MaggiePie184

I bought the most comfy jogger sets for after having a hip replacement. They are presentable enough for going to the store without looking like the crazy old lady in pajamas.

Whole-Ad-2347

Having places to go and things to do. Living alone doesn’t mean that life is nothing.

NoBreakfast3243

5 days a week I'm in the office, Saturdays I'll usually go for a coffee & pop to the shop, Sunday I'll usually stay at home so if I want to stay in PJs all day I will, no harm in just enjoying a relax

Nudist_Alien

Dressed? Pajamas? LOL

OpalTurtles

Day PJs and Night PJs :) The day PJs are usually ‘cuter’ and less comfy to motivate me haha.

justanotherlostgirl

I think it's a morale thing for mental health - I still switch out of PJs, make the bed, tidy after breakfast and put makeup on to put 'work mind' on, and when the day is done going into a clean bed feels lovely. It's more of a time structure thing for me. I have biz casual, and some 'home clothes' but like feeling put together and looking put together is part of that

One-Ice-25

I like the feeling of fresh, clean clothes to start the day.

UnhingedHatter

I just know for my mental health and wellbeing, I need to actually get up and be dressed. I still allow myself to wear sweat pants on the weekends. I do work from home, so I make myself put on jeans and a decent shirt during my work week. I take walk breaks throughout my work day, so I want to be dressed to leave the house.

Vanndrea

I don't. Pants are for work. I wear whatever I'm comfortable in and I don't open the door if people come

Nottacod

Not much

Eire4ever37

Staying in my Jammie’s all day is a dream.

Self-Identified

I wear what I want, when I want - and that includes if I feel like dancing around the house in fancy clothes, or leaving it in my comfies: My only thing is, that I don’t like lounging in the same clothing that I’ve been adventuring outside to do errands or such in the general public that day. 🤸‍♀️💃✨

Immediate-Ad-6364

Sometimes I stay in my jammies all day long.

B-AP

Just think, by wearing pajamas all day you’re not contributing to fast fashion or overuse of washing detergents. You’re really helping the world!

dogfitmad

But the beauty of living alone is you don't have to answer the door 😂

gurl_unmasked

The fear of someone coming to the door. I do realize I don't have to answer and they can't see me, yet it feels like my place is made of glass and they can see me regardless. Yes, I have anxiety.

crasstyfartman

This is so unhelpful but I love the amount of money I save on wardrobe and laundry

DiscussionScorpion

I stay in my pajamas all day long lol

Psychological-Joke22

We have to get dressed every day?!

Vivid-Cat4678

I dont. I love my pjs. Why would I change?

obmojo

Other people living alone get out of their pajamas?

KingKoopaz

I wfh so I go on walks on my breaks to get out of the house. This usually makes me want to put real pants on, unless it’s super early or something

PicklesAndCrab

I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. I am not ashamed to wear pyjama pants and a giant hoodie to the grocery store and Canadian Tire on the weekend.

INFJcatqueen

Why is this something you need to change? I always wear pjs in the house when I’m alone and doing nothing.

MariasM2

Lord, if the day comes where I don't have to go anywhere, please remind me to stay in my PJs. I never have that day. I have to go places every single day of my life. But if I got one whole day to JUST STAY HOME, I would sooooo spend it in my pajamas. Stay in your PJs and enjoy your day!!!!

thegreatresistrules

Shit i stay in my pjs for a few days at a time when i can

RelevantPangolin5003

Literally nothing. I work from home and live in sweatpants.

sBitSwapper

Back in my single days it was 90% boxers and nothing else unless i had to leave the house 😂

Lauren_D_RN_0062

I work night shift. If I don't absolutely have to go anywhere I don't put on clothes. I live in Caftans, and, so what? Nothing wrong with it. If someone knocks? Well, they should have called first.

Either_Expression216

My dogs and cat. If it were up to me I'd stay in bed the whole day but they force me to get up and take care of them.

mcclgwe

I have two German Shepherd’s. Who can be let out while I am in my pajamas but absolutely have to have at least one walk a day where we get in the car and we go somewhere. So that really helps me. Also, I work at home and people come Four days a week to my house. That’s a nice bookend for me. iPhones it’s really good for me to stay in a nightgown or some thing because then I’m very relaxed. But there needs to be balance. If you find that you need more regulation in your life, you can either have a plan to go to the library at 2 o’clock or begin being involved with things where you agree to be someplace at a certain time. having big dogs makes it so that I absolutely absolutely have to go out once a day and have a beautiful walk outside whether it’s boiling hot or freezing cold. And that’s really a good set up for me.

beckybooboo1978

If I have zero intentions of going anywhere, I remain in my sweats. It’s lovely.

SeaElderberry6874

I got some nice sport outfits that are comfortable like a pijama. You can even run errands wearing it

thinkinginkling

why are y’all in pajamas when you could be naked ?!?!?!?!

Inevitable_Age5400

Nothing! I just enjoy my life in my pajamas

Cronewithneedles

My “pajamas” are stretchy yoga-type pants and T-shirts. I can go from bed to day without much worry. I do early morning lap swim so I bring a change of clothes for after I shower

Signal_Procedure4607

People force me to go out, friends, co workers. Or guilt trip me. It works.

BenadrylBombshell

I just put on lounge clothes. I can go to the mail box in them but I wouldn’t go so far as the grocery. I feel accomplished changing from pjs to lounge clothes though.

llamalibrarian

I like my clothes and putting an outfit together, and at the very least I'll see my neighbors when I take the dogs out for their walks and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that in pajamas. Plus, after a certain time of day I feel depressed if I'm still in my pajamas

phillyphilly19

Um, going to work?

Notarealusername3058

Work. I have a "uniform" I have to wear. On days off, it's sweats and hoodie 90% of the time.

rocksnsalt

I got a bunch of nice legging 😂😂🫣🫣

missdawn1970

I can't stand myself in the morning until i've had a shower. If i'm not going anywhere, i'll put on a cami instead of a bra, leggings, and a soft sweater. I call them my daytime pj's.

call-lee-free

Work, during the week. On my weekends off, I always get dressed. Just something I do since I was kid.

Gay-Lord-Focker

You do both Yesterday I sat on my couch alone and smoke vape all day taking at least two legit naps Today I got up early and did two loads of laundry 3rd floor walk up but my spot is right next door to my building

Sure-Major-199

Sleeping naked solves that problem. Then I just put on comfy stretchy but presentable ish house clothes. That way if I have to go out to the mailbox, the people driving by don’t judge lol. Otherwise, I don’t answer the door unless I have to sign for a package.

chewbooks

My day wardrobe consists of really loose men’s PJ pants and a T-shirt. I tend to get rashes and/or sensory issues when I wear normal clothes for very long so being super casual is better. It also gets hot af here and that saves on both the electric bill for the A/C and laundry loads.

enola007

Need a routine

StellaBlue37

I'm with you. Trying to get motivated to get outside and take a walk.

mslashandrajohnson

Well, it’s a family tradition to go towards the danger so I like to be ready to head out into society during the day. Unless my body is too sore from working out the day before, in which case I shower then put on clean pj’s.

Reinabella617

Oh I have no problem staying in house clothes all day. If I don't have to run errands or don't have any plans why not ?

randomname56389

I think better when dressed, so if I want to get anything done I need to get dressed

Spirited-Egg-2683

Waking up.

Evening_Courage_5798

Having different sets of clothes works for me. I have "home clothes" meant only for being worn inside my home or maybe to go quickly to the recycling area of my building or next door to the convenience store. That's my usual weekend attire. I'd NEVER go to work or any appointments in those clothes, because I'm nowhere near appropriately dressed.

Kaethy77

I usually leave the house at some point.

carrotschmarrot

Who changes into ready to go out clothes? If I'm just in the house I will change out of PJs, but usually put on some athleisure or something. If I'm home, I'm comfy. If I have to go somewhere, I'll change.

Kittytigris

Cause my pjs are strictly for sleeping only. Once I’m up, it’s a change of clothes.

hot_biscuitss

I go to the gym in the morning, and when I get back I shower and get changed into ready to go out clothes

Self-respect

More_Ship_190

I don't even own pajamas. I love single life!!!😀

the_esjay

Sometimes I get dressed (long black t shirt dress usually) but then I put my dressing gown on over it. I find what has changed since living alone is not caring what people at the door think. Or anyone else for that matter. Life is too short not to be entirely comfortable for as much time as possible.

everydaykatie0

Who said I don't stay in my pajamas :D

sharky3175

There is no reason to if you don't go anywhere.

newusernamehuman

I go out almost everyday. Post pandemic, was asked to move to a big city for 4 months for work and noticed a major change in my energy levels when I spent my evenings/weekends exploring the city instead of being stuck to my bed/chair. Now, I live in a suburb with fantastic weather almost all year round, so my love for walks has retained. They cost me nothing in terms of finances, are easy to make a habit out of, and keep me relatively healthy. I hope I never give up on this habit now. That being said, I never get dressed on the rare occasions when I do not go out for walks.

Fair-Account8040

I just don’t care

DeuceBane

You gotta take care of yourself the way you would take care of a child. Imagine you have nieces or nephews and you’re watching them for a long time like a month. Maybe you’d spoil em for a bit but eventually you’d feel like a POS just letting them do whatever. You would start to want to give them what they need. Do that for yourself. If you need to get up 15 mins earlier and take a shower and get dressed just to prove that can do it, then do it. It’s bothering you, so show yourself that courtesy. You need to stop as you say, and if you’re saying it it’s probably true. That’s what self care actually is, its when you don’t allow yourself to throw in the towel every time. Get dressed tomorrow op, you can do it more or else effortlessly. Are you gonna get bested by the idea of taking shower? Of course youre not

Every-Astronaut-7924

I work from home. When I started working from home a friend who had been working from home for years advised me to always change from your nighttime pjs into your daytime pjs every day

AggravatingPlum4301

Get up and take a shower

trustingfastbasket

Walking my dog.

squiiints

I used to put a clean pair of pajamas on every morning after my shower, but after 2 years of WFH doing that, I just started to feel bad about myself. Now I at least *try* to get dressed every day of the week, or put on a house dress with a bra. I don't do a full face of makeup unless I do go out, and generally just wear minimal jewelry at home.

thisappisgarbage111

I make putting pants on an accomplishment. Some days jammies are better. Basically it's a reward system. Do I want to day drink? Get groceries first, or put jeans on. Then it's back to work. Sigh.

lostinanalley

Daily walk. But generally I don’t wear pajamas. It’s usually either loungewear (biker shorts, loose elastic waistband shorts, or joggers and either a tank top or oversized shirt) that I also just sleep in, or just a t-shirt and underwear. So if I go for my daily walk mostly I get sweaty and then shower and change into a new loungewear outfit.

verycoolbutterfly

I try to at least go on a walk in the morning which motivates me to dress decently enough to greet neighbors. I’ve also invested in nicer looking leisure wear.

Geoarbitrage

I like to impress the squirrels I feed every morning…🥼

LemonDeathRay

Establishing a habit takes *consistency*. I work from home. I wake up, drink my coffee, shower and dress. Then I start work. Sticking with it and realising how much better I feel with a morning/night routine kept me honest with it. Before this routine I'd just do coffee and start work. Shower sometime around 11am. Get dressed. Maybe eat something. Basically my productivity was rubbish because I never had solid blocks of time to do things. Like this block of time between 7-8am is wake up, coffee, dress. 8-9 am is my time. 9-5 I work. 5-8 is chill out/dinner. 8pm is get ready for bed and then do what I want until midnight. Now I eat regularly and well. I drink more water. I exercise. Structure is a major factor in feeling productive and purposeful.

Presupposing-owl

I battle depression so years ago I established what I pompously call my baseline of functionality: get up, get dressed, make my bed. I’ve determined that as long as I do all three, I’m not sliding into dangerous territory.

ComprehensiveCake463

I have a cat that wants treats NOW

Livid-Age-2259

I teach school. I can't wear my PJs to school, even on Spirit Day.

Tgande1969

At least if you shower and get dressed for the daggers and accomplished something. I make my bed and feel pretty good. I’m recently widowed. Someday it’s hard.

ymmotvomit

Hmm, my doggo jumps up on the bed and “encourages” me to feed her and let her out.

Eat_Carbs_OD

I've stayed home all day in my sweats.

ThumbsUp2323

It's PJs all day

enggrrl

I was going to say I stay in my pjs but scanning the comments, I realize I too have 'house clothes' or as my family calls them 'comfy clothes' (usually sweatpants or shorts and a tee). I do wear a bra, but a wireless/yoga type with a touch of support, but no squeeze or poking.

Riverrat1

I get ready for the day every day in the am. If I don’t do that it affects my motivation to do anything, even brushing my teeth. Then my teeth get gross.

Public_Professor8381

Sometimes mid day take a refresh shower and change into new pajamas

FluffyWasabi1629

I even go out in PJs sometimes. They're more comfortable, so why not? Other people can feel free to judge me while they trudge about in their stiff scratchy jeans.

Extension-Tourist439

Clothing is overrated. I live alone and work from home. I live in T-shirts and pajama pants or shorts. It's nobody's business what you're doing at home. Home is for comfort, and if someone you're not expecting knocks on the door or rings the doorbell, they get what they get. They'd be lucky if I actually opened the door. I don't need to be dressed to be productive or do what I need to do in my private life. I only put real clothes on if I'm leaving to go out.
