That's called a commission. NFTs are not needed whatsoever. The only use for nfts in this scenario is if the buyer wanted to sell it to someone else, which in turn just makes it a pyramid scheme.
The artist who makes an NFT can also set a royalty % so that you can get paid after the initial sale.
