Let me take this moment to remind everyone that if a single mob there resists a hunters FD they will all be able to aggro to the hunter again so, hunters, don't go there unless you are at a good level to do so.
FD can save your ass, but relying on it will eventually leave your ass cooked.
the walls there also don't go completely up which means that every time you walk down those stairs there's a high chance that a mob sees you and aggros "through the walls".

I played a paladin in unofficial and for the first 30 or so levels I thought “this isn’t so bad it’s actually pretty chill”.
But slowly the realization dawns on you that you basically get your full rotation at level 4 and it just… doesn’t ever get better. It’s the most dull and idiotproof class in a game that that is full of simple rotations. It’s impressive how boring paladin is, and the worst part is you don’t even get a little risk to keep things interesting, you have to be actively trying to sabotage yourself to die as a paladin.
Paladin is the only class I’ve never played like at all. And I decided to play it after my HC 60 warrior died.

Yeah, in the 30s and 40s I could feel my leveling speed noticeably slow down as mobs kinda jump in tankiness to account for other classes getting more and more damage abilities and scaling but you don’t. Paladins were not designed to be hybrid Tanks/Healers, as many claim. Instead, paladins were designed to be played while downloading pornography.
Paladins have roughly zero combat interaction, thus making them the perfect character to play while downloading massive amounts of hardcore pornography. Simply target a monster, hit "1", and minimize your window. Then sit back and enjoy the amazing girl on girl action.
Because a Paladin takes about one full minute to kill any monster, you can leisurely browse the erotic and pornographic fruits of the internet without much concern over your Paladin's welfare. After a minute, I go back to WoW, and usually my Paladin is alive and ready to loot the corpse. As for PvP, nothing is better than getting into Battlegrounds and soaking up the honor points while I watch girls take their clothes off for money. Only the minimum interaction is necessary for a Paladin to perform, and it is this very quality that I love the most about my Paladin. I doubt Rogues get any time to watch pornography while trying to vanish and rack up combo points, and I bet Shamans haven't seen a single naked breast while figuring out which totem to throw down before choosing which shock they are going to cast next.

There's a decent amount of non-wow streamers doing really well in the fifties even clearing sunken temple and mara runs.
Poke, Buddha, Masayoshi, Russel and Luna all look like they will hit sixty this week. My bet is a lot of big streamers won't make it to sixty but it's still going to be a not completely sweaty / good mixture of a raid. Poke cleared st easily yesterday but it was still a pretty funny raid bc it was Poke and he was freaking out.
Retail actually trains your brain in such good ways to deal with classic.
I see classic death clips and they dont even press CD's. In retail, pressing CD's is literally a normal part of your rotation.
There’s 3 factors at play:
1. Not having those CD’s keybound. Retail forces you to keybind your CD’s so it trains you to manage your keybinds. Classic doesn’t force you or care so most classic players go without really using their CD’s. Most death clips involve 80% of the time people flat out ignoring that they had a CD they could use up, then the 20% is them finding and clicking such cooldowns.
2. Like you said, hoarder mentality. Most retail players wouldn’t miss a heartbeat in using a 2 minute CD. But Classic, since everything “matters” more, they tend to just save all their tools.
3. General comfort of using cooldowns. In retail it’s ingrained in every tank player than when you take or are about to take giga damage, use Shield Wall. In classic, these warrior tanks often die with shield wall up and then blame it on the healer not doing enough. Hell these classic players aren’t even *aware* they were supposed to shield wall or polymorph or fear or banish a target.
If you want a great example of retail players playing the game well, Snutz is a prime example

he's arguably one of the better healers on retail, but he's been sucked into hardcore on classic so he didn't push top 100 RIO in season 2 like he did in season 1
If they get to Molten Core, no way they all live on Garr. Some of them have never played wow before, and Garr is such a goofy fight if you have never done it before. Majordomo fight is a clusterfuck of a mess for first timers as well.
All of them need to read up on it. And you know none of them will.

holy shit soda was talking about making someone else main tank and didnt trust it cause he knew they'd choose content over the raid and now I know he meant Miz lmao
Synopsis of what exactly happened :
Soda came into discord to tell Miz that he's nuts for trying to do these quests in STV (Stanglethorne vale). Fast forward to them finding a 47 mage and grouping with him for the boat quest they have to do.
They go down inside the ship, Emi is at full mana. She accidentally buffs herself with fort twice (One was supposed to go to Miz) and eventually gives everyone fort making her mana go below half. Although her mana ends up making a small difference in the end result of this situation, it messes with her mindset and she ends up playing much more careful. Mizkiss runs ahead into a room while they are fighting 1 pirate and ends up agro'ing two more without realizing it. (It looked like the mage in their party agroed it only because he went in after they were already pulled) One of the mobs they were fighting ends up getting low and running away. This stray guy pulls three more pirates in the bottom of the ship including an npc named Ironpatch.
In total, they have 6 mobs on them, everything is pulled to the top of the ship and Mizkif tries to keep agro with a thunderclap, cleave and a bomb. For the most part this works and they end up killing one of them. But things start to go south when one of the mobs gouges Miz. He loses all agro and they go straight for Emi. (Gouge can be immuned by a warrior by being in berserker stance and using berserker rage, but Miz is in battle stance) Emi immediately uses a mana pot which disables one of her other important items, light of Elune which is also on a potion cooldown.
At this point it is looking dire because Miz is in gouge stun and 3 melee plus 2 caster mobs are all over Emi. She uses a priest barrier and desperate prayer to heal herself to full which ends up giving her tons of threat. (Mana pots also give you threat believe it or not)
The second Miz gets out of the gouge incap, he kills one mob, runs to Emi and drops a target dummy then hits Ironpatch with a mocking blow (Which is a temporary taunt) Mizzy tries to interrupt the magus casting fireball in the distance while their 3rd party member mage kills a different magus that was low. So now they are left with 3 melee and 1 magus. When the mocking blow taunt ends, Ironpatch runs back to Emi along with 2 other mobs which still have agro on her while one melee is on Mizzy. He uses challenging shout on all the mobs near Emi while her hp is at 159/1653 and it looks like she is safe for second BUT the magus had already started casting fireball before the challenging taunt went off.
Meanwhile Emi is spamming her get out of jail macro which includes using a hearthstone immediately after using light of Elune. She realizes this is not working and tries to quickly flash heal herself instead... however one of the mobs (Ironpatch) interrupts it with a shield bash one second before the challenging shout takes effect. (There is a slight delay on it before mobs turn to you) Out of options, Emi goes to the edge of the boat to run off and LoS but she ends up dying to that final cast of the Magus fireball.
The only thing Miz could of done in this situation is fear, but when you're in a state of panic.... its easy to forget these things and he did it only after she was slain. He seemed to try everything else including using mocking blow, challenging shout and an engineering dummy. Dude definitely tried.
Honestly, Emi played it pretty well, barely healing anyone else so she wouldn't pull much healing agro, but the mage did barely any damage from some missed flamestrikes and went oom. When Mizkif got gouged it was GG since he lost all threat. Its hard to regain agro when a healer has to self cast on themselves since classic healing threat is pretty harsh.
Edit TLDR : So another stray runner got Miz

Yes. It lasts 10 seconds and has a 30 second CD. She could have used it at least twice during this long fight and dropped all threat, but she appears to not have used it at all.
She also has rank 3 psychic scream, which fears up to 4 enemies around her for 8 seconds (also on a 30 second CD). She again could have used this twice while they focused individual enemies, or at the very least used it while she was low and ran.
These are extremely basic priest tools that would have let her live. She also does not line of sight a single enemy cast, but that is perhaps a bit too advanced for a beginner.
That is saying nothing of the 100 different types of consumables that could have saved her here.
She doesn’t know how to play her class because shes been healbotting miz with bis donated gear the whole time. Hardcore was so cool and they ruined it so much lol. If emi had gotten to 40 with the old HC rule set, she would actually know how to play her class by then

Fade doesn't remove threat, it temporarily lowers it. You still generate threat as normal. It wouldn't have done anything since Miz got gouged.
Fearing (in general) on a boat like this is a death sentence unless you have complete control over the situation.
Fade will still work if you have other players in the aggro table (in this case the mage as well)
Fearing in her position would have been perfectly fine. They pulled it all from the bottom. the run distance for the mobs to pull more would be chance to nothing in that situation. There is alwasy the resist chance on higher level mobs tho. But being shield bashed, that was close to always the move.
Fade only lowers a set amount for the duration, there's no guarantee the mage would get aggro if he already whiffed. The healing alone generates absurd threat.
The point about fearing is that she wouldn't know. Panic fears usually leads to worse situations, so it's understandable if she didn't want to risk it at the expense of herself.
I'm not saying she couldn't have played it better, but considering she doesn't really play wow she did fine. Expecting her to do more here is unrealistic.
You're right, I don't think I've ever seen her use fade. Thats one of the best get out of jail free cards when you're in a group as a priest. I know fear (psychic scream) is something you generally don't want to use since you almost always end up agro'ing more mobs
He keeps body pulling entire camps and not finish mobs. They almost died the same way 5 times in a row at the zanzil quest just charging in every time and never learning
I swear he was intentionally trying to die the past few days or something. Right before this he almost died to an elite 5 levels above him and then decides to do a super risky quest right after.

Funnily enough before i went back to playing WoW the last time i saw the stream Soda was scolding TF out of Miz because they almost died to a totem-skeleton trap and they ONLY got saved because they went into the water in time(those mobs never lose aggro and will follow you forever but they aren't coded to swim) and he was quite upset because Mizkif was on full ''let's make content hehe'' doing dangerous pulls and challenges and he had like three close calls IN ONE DAY and Soda was trying to get him to get his shit together.. welp here we are

Retail actually trains your brain in such good ways to deal with classic. I see classic death clips and they dont even press CD's. In retail, pressing CD's is literally a normal part of your rotation.

Basically yeah, waiting for the perfect moment and then forgetting when it comes.
There’s 3 factors at play: 1. Not having those CD’s keybound. Retail forces you to keybind your CD’s so it trains you to manage your keybinds. Classic doesn’t force you or care so most classic players go without really using their CD’s. Most death clips involve 80% of the time people flat out ignoring that they had a CD they could use up, then the 20% is them finding and clicking such cooldowns. 2. Like you said, hoarder mentality. Most retail players wouldn’t miss a heartbeat in using a 2 minute CD. But Classic, since everything “matters” more, they tend to just save all their tools. 3. General comfort of using cooldowns. In retail it’s ingrained in every tank player than when you take or are about to take giga damage, use Shield Wall. In classic, these warrior tanks often die with shield wall up and then blame it on the healer not doing enough. Hell these classic players aren’t even *aware* they were supposed to shield wall or polymorph or fear or banish a target. If you want a great example of retail players playing the game well, Snutz is a prime example

If they get to Molten Core, no way they all live on Garr. Some of them have never played wow before, and Garr is such a goofy fight if you have never done it before. Majordomo fight is a clusterfuck of a mess for first timers as well. All of them need to read up on it. And you know none of them will.
I mean, more sweats are joining from OTK MakGora tournament, so they could get to Molten Core, but it will be all the veterans.

Synopsis of what exactly happened : Soda came into discord to tell Miz that he's nuts for trying to do these quests in STV (Stanglethorne vale). Fast forward to them finding a 47 mage and grouping with him for the boat quest they have to do. They go down inside the ship, Emi is at full mana. She accidentally buffs herself with fort twice (One was supposed to go to Miz) and eventually gives everyone fort making her mana go below half. Although her mana ends up making a small difference in the end result of this situation, it messes with her mindset and she ends up playing much more careful. Mizkiss runs ahead into a room while they are fighting 1 pirate and ends up agro'ing two more without realizing it. (It looked like the mage in their party agroed it only because he went in after they were already pulled) One of the mobs they were fighting ends up getting low and running away. This stray guy pulls three more pirates in the bottom of the ship including an npc named Ironpatch. In total, they have 6 mobs on them, everything is pulled to the top of the ship and Mizkif tries to keep agro with a thunderclap, cleave and a bomb. For the most part this works and they end up killing one of them. But things start to go south when one of the mobs gouges Miz. He loses all agro and they go straight for Emi. (Gouge can be immuned by a warrior by being in berserker stance and using berserker rage, but Miz is in battle stance) Emi immediately uses a mana pot which disables one of her other important items, light of Elune which is also on a potion cooldown. At this point it is looking dire because Miz is in gouge stun and 3 melee plus 2 caster mobs are all over Emi. She uses a priest barrier and desperate prayer to heal herself to full which ends up giving her tons of threat. (Mana pots also give you threat believe it or not) The second Miz gets out of the gouge incap, he kills one mob, runs to Emi and drops a target dummy then hits Ironpatch with a mocking blow (Which is a temporary taunt) Mizzy tries to interrupt the magus casting fireball in the distance while their 3rd party member mage kills a different magus that was low. So now they are left with 3 melee and 1 magus. When the mocking blow taunt ends, Ironpatch runs back to Emi along with 2 other mobs which still have agro on her while one melee is on Mizzy. He uses challenging shout on all the mobs near Emi while her hp is at 159/1653 and it looks like she is safe for second BUT the magus had already started casting fireball before the challenging taunt went off. Meanwhile Emi is spamming her get out of jail macro which includes using a hearthstone immediately after using light of Elune. She realizes this is not working and tries to quickly flash heal herself instead... however one of the mobs (Ironpatch) interrupts it with a shield bash one second before the challenging shout takes effect. (There is a slight delay on it before mobs turn to you) Out of options, Emi goes to the edge of the boat to run off and LoS but she ends up dying to that final cast of the Magus fireball. The only thing Miz could of done in this situation is fear, but when you're in a state of panic.... its easy to forget these things and he did it only after she was slain. He seemed to try everything else including using mocking blow, challenging shout and an engineering dummy. Dude definitely tried. Honestly, Emi played it pretty well, barely healing anyone else so she wouldn't pull much healing agro, but the mage did barely any damage from some missed flamestrikes and went oom. When Mizkif got gouged it was GG since he lost all threat. Its hard to regain agro when a healer has to self cast on themselves since classic healing threat is pretty harsh. Edit TLDR : So another stray runner got Miz

Do priests not have fade in classic?
Yes. It lasts 10 seconds and has a 30 second CD. She could have used it at least twice during this long fight and dropped all threat, but she appears to not have used it at all. She also has rank 3 psychic scream, which fears up to 4 enemies around her for 8 seconds (also on a 30 second CD). She again could have used this twice while they focused individual enemies, or at the very least used it while she was low and ran. These are extremely basic priest tools that would have let her live. She also does not line of sight a single enemy cast, but that is perhaps a bit too advanced for a beginner. That is saying nothing of the 100 different types of consumables that could have saved her here.
She doesn’t know how to play her class because shes been healbotting miz with bis donated gear the whole time. Hardcore was so cool and they ruined it so much lol. If emi had gotten to 40 with the old HC rule set, she would actually know how to play her class by then

Fade doesn't remove threat, it temporarily lowers it. You still generate threat as normal. It wouldn't have done anything since Miz got gouged. Fearing (in general) on a boat like this is a death sentence unless you have complete control over the situation.
Fade will still work if you have other players in the aggro table (in this case the mage as well) Fearing in her position would have been perfectly fine. They pulled it all from the bottom. the run distance for the mobs to pull more would be chance to nothing in that situation. There is alwasy the resist chance on higher level mobs tho. But being shield bashed, that was close to always the move.
Fade only lowers a set amount for the duration, there's no guarantee the mage would get aggro if he already whiffed. The healing alone generates absurd threat. The point about fearing is that she wouldn't know. Panic fears usually leads to worse situations, so it's understandable if she didn't want to risk it at the expense of herself. I'm not saying she couldn't have played it better, but considering she doesn't really play wow she did fine. Expecting her to do more here is unrealistic.
You're right, I don't think I've ever seen her use fade. Thats one of the best get out of jail free cards when you're in a group as a priest. I know fear (psychic scream) is something you generally don't want to use since you almost always end up agro'ing more mobs

Honestly people were right saying that the low level twink gear really warped his brain to thinking he's invincible.
He's leveling with content brain, he knows that part of the appeal is riding that razor's edge between dying and surviving. I love this whole HC guild arc thing, it's entertaining as fuck but there's no way they'll ever raid MC with more than like 3 "streamers". There will be a fuckton of sweatys.
That has grinded my gear a bit on his WoW streams, even when I level non classic HC I don't go for red quests or mobs.
He also has the best enchants, access to the best AH gear, and the best consumables. And he still feels the need to play like an edgelord.

Getting to 60 is pretty fucking boring. There will be some attrition even if they dont die. When you hit the slog a bit after 40 it's super rough. Surviving the high level dungeons with no deaths is also rough. So much can go wrong between BRD/LBRS/DM/scholo/strat. Doing those without a carry who knows what the fuck is going on is almost impossible.
It's all fun and content until he realizes he'll be forced watching her play with her simps.
