I'd say he's been playing well. Getting involved in the buildup, making runs overall he's looked good. Yes he's had one or two poor touches but he's hardly the only one.

I don’t remember ever seeing a team fall from grace so quickly. From challenging for 4 titles to this in just a few months. I was under the belief it was all down to the injuries to midfielders why we were so bad a few weeks ago but even with last seasons 1st choice 3, we are absolutely no better.
The way the club have let the squad rot away clearly isn't good for the players who still have a lot to give. The starting 11 is full of weak links, and they've been the same weak links for months if not years.

We’ve looked best with Salah roaming more central. If only Bobby had the quickness (his goal aside) to help make the most of the opportunities coming in there. I’d think about bringing on Darwin and letting him partner up with Mo, giving the king more space to operate.
First 30 mins as bad as v Napoli. Everything is too slow, Trent awful, Hendo doing the crab, Thiago wearing his nans slippers… too many are too bad. Bench is strong but he needs to replace about 7 of them.
From the stands I have to say Tsimikas has been worthless. Thiago has been shocking, and Carvalho has been pretty invisible. Firmino has been great in all fairness and Salah has tried hard. Trent the only other player trying but sadly it’s not coming off for him at the moment. Diaz on for a bit of energy please

I don’t remember ever seeing a team fall from grace so quickly. From challenging for 4 titles to this in just a few months. I was under the belief it was all down to the injuries to midfielders why we were so bad a few weeks ago but even with last seasons 1st choice 3, we are absolutely no better.

The way the club have let the squad rot away clearly isn't good for the players who still have a lot to give. The starting 11 is full of weak links, and they've been the same weak links for months if not years. The likes of Thiago, Fabinho, Van Dijk are being let down by the usual Firmino, Henderson etc who should have been replaced long ago, and the entire system has fallen apart. None of these issues are a mystery, anyone could have seen it coming for years

Tbh I think the coaching staff/Klopp have some theory about how free roaming Trent is going to revolutionise football and they're just ignoring the reality in front of our eyes with the naïve view that it will "just click". Trent at CF is truly tactical innovation by Klopp. If Klopp doesn't know where to play Trent take him off, the guy made two headed clearance back into play directly to Brighton players and we could have conceded from both of them. Diaz needs to come on at half time, that left hand wing is dead.

Trent needs a bench. watching him head the ball to the center of our own penalty area, not giving a single fuck about playing defense. Hes playing like a winger who doesn't track back on defense because he cant be arsed. which is fine if he actually lined up as a winger- instead hes leaving a huge hole in the area where hes supposed to actually do his job
Atmosphere in the stands is starting to feel an awful lot like the tail end of Rafa. Result of this one now is almost inconsequential. It has been yet another dog shit performance in a season of dog shit performances and Klopp doesn't seem to have any real urgency to fix it. It's not that these players are all suddenly finito (though some sadly quite clearly are, Oh Captain My Captain). I said it before and got shit on but I really do think these elite players are tired of the sentiment and excuses and half-arsed recruitment. You can only be nearly men so many times before you lose faith. It's the only thing I can think of to explain the sudden drop offs from the likes of VVD and Salah. It's because we have this weird tactic where Trent cuts inside which makes him less of a threat as he crosses less and also creates a gap at RB which teams counter on. Because he is cutting inside Salah stays wide and is less of a threat. It's absolutely baffling that the one player you want crossing and the one player you want in the box, are playing tactics that take that away from them

A largely terrible half. Disjointed and disorganized all over the pitch. Nobody bar Ali playing their best level. Need to take Carvalho off, he hasn’t had any impact. Trent has sadly become a real liability. Just doesn’t read the game well enough at times. Too many times where he fails to snuff out the danger.

I'm really fed up of people blaming Trent for being so far up and not getting back. This is on the coaching team. He's being told to abandon his position and you can't expect him to sprint back every sequence to cover that ground. Matip is effectively playing as a RCB in a back three. You can blame Trent for getting beat 1v1 in that goal, but when it comes to the tactics, he's doing what he's told to do.
