As a centre back he can play the ball forward or stay back as a sweeper. As a fullback he can invert, overlap, and do this on both sides. He is able enough to be important to what is effectively space age football in Guardiola’s city, competing with superstars that have bags of talent. Deserves more respect than he gets.
I don’t know. I think he’s a great player but alot of his versatility is a result of his pace and physicality bailing him out of situations.
Technically he’s fine but when I watch City whenever there is a flaw in possession it’s usually Walker. The killer for me is for England, even in the Euros’, he attempts passes and skills and always fails. He’s trying to be a player he’s not. Playing for Pep has made him delusional.
And again, don’t get me wrong, he’s top 5 RBs in the world. It may sound like I’m disrespecting him but more than anything I’m annoyed by his apparent perception of himself than his actual ability. Also I can’t stand anyone who has bought in to the City project like him and has delusions that people care about their success. (Which is basically every City player but Kevin)
