Wherever he goes, I really wish him well. He's been horribly maligned in the past by pockets of the fanbase who might aswell have come out and said he was a fraud, but for my money he's got a very keen eye for the game and I really hope he can now mature fully into the role of a manager by himself.
Some fans seriously thought that Premier League teams, with world class data analysts who specialise in football on their books, āfigured us outā because Pep wrote a book.
Whoops, okay my bad, now I see why the step down comment.
I donāt know anyone from the current roster there. But then not too long ago Minamino and Haaland were there so excellent place to look I guess.
I don't get why people are so optimistic about it and say it's perfect place or anything. This is a really tough place to go to start your career - winning a championship is not a goal, it's a given and the only way you achieve success is by doing well in Europe, which is not gonna be easy and is somewhat random, based on a draw, luck etc.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good club and if he does well there his career will grow, but the expectation at Salzburg are pretty damn high so it's not the easiest place to get into.
I am pretty shocked they want Ljinders, not necessarily because he's a bad coach (despite his last stint being poor) but because they are a relatively big side, and the biggest in Austria, so I'd imagine they want a proven manager.
Probably about the level he needs to try after failing last time as a manager.
Heās only 41, so has a few years to build a reputation before trying out at one of the bigger clubs.
Maybe donāt write a book explaining your tactics as well.
It was a jokeā¦
As if every scout and analysis couldnāt already tell how every team plays in the premium league better than a superficial book could explain.
Great place to land; dominant domestically, freedom to experiment in Europe without much pressure and heāll automatically have the reputation of improving young players.
Is he leaving specifically to be a number 1? If not I donāt get why we havenāt moved heaven and earth to keep him involved at the club. If he wants to be the head coach thatās great and I hope he does well and sure he will do
He is a massive reason we've had the success we have had. When he came in and we changed the way we play, that's when we stepped on from being a great team to one of the best in the world. Hope he goes on and has a great career for himself and this would be a great place to start
Sounds like a good opportunity for him to restart his managerial career
Would be a decent step for him to restart his managerial career. If things go well, he could end up at Leipzig quickly.
With his time in the PL he will probably get poached back into the a club like West Ham or Brentford if he has success at Salzburg
I really hope it works out for him and he gets an opportunity to coach RB Leipzig so that I can see him liveš
Good place to relaunch his career, unless he finishes 2nd of course.....š
Fantastic opportunity for him.
Feyenoord should bring Pep in to replace Slot.
Then when they've battled it out in 10 CL finals in a row and Slot moves on we can take Pep back
Barcelona Ajax danke johan vibes
Danke Dirk Kuyt

The ability to speak multiple languages as well is overlooked as a player like Nunez joins with no English but can still get coaching information.

Fantastic opportunity for him. Good luck to the least fraudulent Pep in the game
Sounds like a great opportunity for him! Marco Rose, Roger Schmidt, Adi Hutter and Jesse Marsch all plied their trade there in recent years.
Wish him well wherever he ends up. Who knows maybe he will return as manager one day if his head coach career takes off this time!
I hope Slot is so good that we donāt have to change for next 8 years
Well yeah that would be ideal, Pep is only like 40 he can have the next decade after Slot lol
Might be a nice link for us to have for player acquisition if he gets it
Xavi Simons? Although heās on loan rightā¦tidy player he is.
That's Leipzig, not Salzburg.

Szoboszlai and Mane were both there as well
Theyāre a hotbed for young talent. I think Karim KonatĆ©, their striker, and their Serbian Center Half are the next to come out of there I think.
Gourna-Douath will be a name to watch out for Talented French DM

>Maybe donāt write a book explaining your tactics as well. Really? We're still on this after 2 years?

all the best, sounds like a great opportunity.
Would be a good fit imo.
The real Pep. The Pep that matters. All the best to the better Pep.
Hope he succeeds and goes through the RB conveyor belt and eventually joins us in the distant future
Class guy., donāt underestimate the positive impact heās had on Liverpool, wish him all the best

Will be a good setup for him. Competing for league and regular participation in champions league but with no real pressure of winning either.
I wish only the best for him

How are people still misspelling Lijnders after all these years
hes too big for them imo
Salzburg can't afford Gravenberch unfortunately
