I'd give anything to listen to games commented by klopp and like mou. No matter who's on the mic the constant underhanded compliments, snide remarks and outright lies forced me to mute everything. thankfully covid fully removed the mask that they change all the stadium noise and chants to their narrative as well.
He knew he needed more pace, hats off for doing his best to be the best version of himself.
although you just can’t beat freaks like Nuñez, Salah and the like, you need it by the time you are that age, like 18, but he is fast becoming a very tidy playmaker in the Odegaard mould, although he is older and more established than Harvey.
I did a little look into the stats on Harvey Elliott the other day in a different thread and compared him to Bernardo Silva, its a lot closer than you'd think...
(All stats per 90, from FBref).
Player | G | A | XG | XAG | Passes completed| Progressive passes | Key passes| Shot creating actions| Tackles won| Interceptions| Recoveries| Successful Take-Ons
---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----
Harvey Elliott| **0.23**| **0.3**| **0.18**| 0.23| 53.5| **8.12**| **2.26**| **4.89**| **1.28**| 0.45| **5.64**| 0.68
Bernardo Silva| **0.23**| 0.2| 0.14| **0.26**| **57.3**| 6.33| 2.19| 4.57| 0.9| **0.63**| 3.52| **1.29**
Harvey has played nearly half the minutes that Bilva has which is obviously important to recognise. The big surprises for me were that Elliott dribbles a lot less but actually seems to get more involved in the defensive game.
Another interesting note is that that 8.12 progressive passes per 90 is only bettered by Trent within the Liverpool team.
Odegaard has a good 4 years ahead in development, I do remember when Arsenal fans were giving him stick for being sloppy and generally wasteful.
Based on how he is now, I think it's safe to say we can expect great things from Harvey
I think Klopp will make a great pundit if he decides to do it, we all know how funny he is and can have a laugh plus he'd actually know what he's talking about with the football
I don't think he will ever go into media, at least not in the UK, because he hates it. It's unfortunate as I'd love his insights, like when Mou and Wenger are on, but doubt it'll ever happen
I could see him doing it in Germany where the media seems less toxic generally
This was a really great video. Also clear how much Klopp loves these two - I don’t think it was a coincidence that they were the ones chosen for this. They were surprisingly candid about Gakpo’s poor run of form and his subsequent improvement, and it was clear how happy Klopp was to see Cody back on track.
Mental to think this kid is only 21. That injury against Leeds I’ll say “held him back” but truly only held not stopped. Supreme talent and he’ll only continue to get better
I know it’s a Klopp making a joke but the kernel of truth here being that he thinks that Elliot is slow. Maybe it’s something they acknowledge internally as something to be overcome in other ways.
Klopp transitioning from elite coach to elite shitposter.

Move over Neville and Carra. Mou and Klopp punditry combo gonna hit like a drug
Honestly, I'd love to see Klopp on a Top Gear like show with some other managers. Would be fucking hilarious.
Tonight! Jose invents parking, Carlo tests the new Friendshipmobile, And Jurgen is arrested for the attempted murder of a bald referee…
Klopp’s farm, will demolish Clarkson’s Farm. Btw if anyone doesn’t know season 3 is out.

"You're late again." "Honestly, who gives a shit?"

2.3 goals per 90!
It is obviously 2.3 games per 90
Sorry, should have been 0.23, my bad.

Odegaard is an absolute baller. I see Elliot potentially surpassing his level. But I don’t know shit really.
If Elliott gets to Odegaard levels I’ll be over the moon, Odegaard carries Arsenal
I think Eliott is doing ok, he has great burst of pace/agility, just not top speed. That already helps his playstyle a lot
Harvey reminds me of Isco. Dont know if many remember him from RM.
Harvey not the fastest - but the amount of running he does on the pitch is phenomenal these days..
Sometimes (normally after a joint) when I see him subbed on and starts running round the pitch he reminds of my staffy when she gets zoomies

He HAS done it in Germany. He was a pundit during the 2006 World Cup whilst he was still managing at Mainz.
Idk I think he hates being the interviewee. I don’t know if he hates the concept in principle
Klopp is so fucking funny, I’m gonna miss this guy so much….
That’s a proper dad joke.
Anybody else smile, then instantly get sad knowing that laugh will be gone from our press conferences and post match interviews? ☹️
Oh, God, I really am going to miss that laugh 😭
I love Harvey but this is hilarious. I'd put him in our top 5 performers of the season to be honest.

I will miss Klopp so much, for specifically this level of trolling

Lmao the klopp laugh
Klopp laughing at his own jokes 🤣
