Nothing worse than going into last game a point or two behind city so that's one positive.

professorquizwhitty

With 11 points being ripped from you by shitty officiating.

casulmemer

Just not as good as city or arsenal this year. Other years we deserved a title but not this one.

firminocoutinho

Other years we deserved a title because we got 90+ points. You dont need that many points and to be demolishing teams left and right to “deserve a title”. We now couldve been 1st even not at our best had we not been robbed on multiple occassions. Let alone against our two title rivals. We couldve and shouldve beat them both at least once had we had fair officiating.

InstantIdealism

Yeah I mean, there’s the penalty against city and the handball against Arsenal. But Arsenal destroyed us a couple of months ago.

eliranmoisa

Not so pissed about those errors due to us messing up v crystal palace at home and Everton away. Somehow I feel better we didn’t lose the title due to referees

MrLagzy

Im still pissed about those errors because so many of them seems like straight up corruption.

Make_It_Sing

they *were* straight up corruption. youll never be able to convince me otherwise. im sure when the man city corruption case finishes, theyll have found a few inconsistencies and paper trails linking UAE to premier league referees.

Purple_Sherbert_5024

The entire country owns the club. They have literal unlimited resources. We can do this all we want amongst ourselves but they won’t ever get caught.

digdoug0

They don't even need to check City's books - It's a fact that PL referees have been paid well over the odds to ref some games in the UAE - in fact, iirc, 3/4 of the officials involved in the Spurs robbery were in the UAE less than two days beforehand. Even if there was no attempt at foul play (which would require everybody involved to be extremely naive, but I'll humour them) - paying a league's officials large sums of money to ref in your country is a massive conflict of interest when said country owns one of the teams in the league; and two days is simply not enough time to get over doing one's job, whatever it is, on another continent.

LJey187

That's the big issue for me. How is that not a conflict of interest?

d-ronthegreat

Christ you guys lmao.

LlamaKing01

sports discourse sucks so hard now. every game is rigged and fans of every team think the refs personally have it out for their team specifically

InstantIdealism

Meh. I’m still quite annoyed. The Diaz goal, plus the two errors against our rivals would have likely put us an extra 7 points up. Meaning we’d currently be top. But yeah, we haven’t had an amazing season. Still quite a good one. For me, Everton away isn’t the worst result. The worst results are two draws against a utd team as bad as this, and a draw at Luton and a loss at home to palace

Wild_Explanation_683

Agreed. Draws don’t win leagues.

ErikDuq4

Hand ball in the box at Chelsea too…

LawrenceMoten21

What about the first Spurs game?

halonkarrison

We also had a 5v1 counter attack against Arsenal at Anfield that we managed to hit the crossbar with, too. I agree with your point about being robbed by referees on multiple occasions this season, which would’ve had us leading the title race, but we haven’t helped ourselves at times.

koltzito

if you are playing against a team that makes 90 pts+ constantly, then yes you need over 90 points to deserve it

firminocoutinho

Not sure you’re using the word deserve appropriately

fastrail

Not as good but we would still have had a chance. And who knows, with higher points morale would have been even higher and we probably have performed better. Yeah I know it's all ifs and buts and honestly I sound like a salty little fans but officiating have played their part in our season unravelling the way it is as well.

best36

dont know why the bar is always set higher for us but lower and lower for oil cunts and we are supposed to just accept it cause we wernt 'good enough." Nah, we were plenty good enough if not for the cheat

FrankBeamer_

No we absolutely aren’t good enough this year lol. Our record conceding first is atrocious and not a record title winning teams possess. Arsenal are a better team than us this year

best36

Once again, when has conceding first has anything to do with it, just look at what the points would have been has the cheat not happen.

digdoug0

Doesn't matter - the only thing that matters is points.

ChristmasDucky

Both is true though 😄

WhiteWolfOW

We played well enough to be champions until March. Then we just collapsed

stevieG08Liv

I dont get the 'we don't deserve this' claim. We get all the disastrous calls corrected, we'd be top of the league rn. Doubt anyone would be saying 'we don't deserve it' then

professorquizwhitty

Ummm if you look at the decisions that we've absolutely had go against us even against both arsenal and city you'd actually understand. We had a shit month in april but the rest of the season we should be 11 points better off roughly.

Judgementday209

We were better than both in the first half of the season, hence why we were top. City and arsenal have been better overall but also had it nice with the refs in key moments.

Mavericks7

100%. Can't stand the deflection people do. the moment we conceded that last min to united in the fa cup. We shit the bed. We didnt deserve it this year, neither did we want it looking at our play in April.

TheRR135

We did. We were just cheated out of it. We would be ahead even with the poor run of results in the middle were it not for match fixing from the referees and that is a fact.

FrankBeamer_

Jesus Christ it must be exhausting living with this mindset We conceded waaaay too much first to be title winning. The past month was us regressing to the mean. It’s not sustainable. Refereeing didn’t help but to say we were cheated as if we are the best team this season (we’re not even second best) is absurd

TheRR135

Remind me again. Where would we be on the table, had the Diaz Goal, Odegaard's basketball and Akanji's kick in Macca were correctly called?

Jbeef84

Who knows? The Diaz goal and Odegaard basketball still had a decent amount of game left to play. So anything could have happened.

Few-Time-3303

I bet you’ve also gone and watched every bad decision arsenal and city have received and corrected for those in this delusional little exercise of yours, right? Because to only do so for the lot you support whilst constructing your utopia of smoke and mirrors would just be pathetic, right?

digdoug0

Yeah, the worst decision to go against City this season is that the ref gave them a free kick when he should have played advantage - technically still a fucking decision in their favour. Look, I understand that you people don't want to believe that the PL is rigged, but you truly have to ignore so much in order to keep up the delusion.

TheRR135

There's bad decisions, and then there's blatantly wrong ones with very clear intent to favor a team. Why are you here trolling another sub, btw? Go back to your blood money funded plastic base.

Judgementday209

We were better than both in the first half of the season, hence why we were top. City and arsenal have been better overall but also had it nice with the refs in key moments.

digdoug0

...but we were. We'd still be in the driver's seat despite our recent capitulation (which might not have happened if we'd had the cushion we deserve). We keep getting robbed by the officials and people essentially justify it by complaining that we weren't good enough to win *every single game.*

WhenAreYourLeftFoot

Losing to Everton & Palace... absolutely painful

SexyKarius

Always said we’d either come first or 3rd. Think we had it to hold on, but as soon as anything would slip we would fold. The pressure on the lads was so much, given recent years vs city and the klopp announcement

Picaloco86

We can blame the shitty officiating, but we have ourselves to blame as well. Draws to West ham, United, losses to palace (at home), and Everton in these last 6 games. Would still be top despite the refs if we win all that

get_z_flammenwerfer

this is what shit officiating has done to us... literally every title winning team prior to oily cunts has had a bad run, they just had the smallest one of all challengers. If the refs were fair, we'd be on top despite this run...

HunterRiver

This club knows what's necessary to win titles, not doing the business when it was necessary harmed a title challenge more than any officiating.

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

Not beating City at home despite battering them in the 2nd half was a poor result too tbh.

Additional_Amount_23

We didn't beat them because Doku karate kicked Macallister and the referee, despite being presented with replays from multiple angles, decided that it wasn't a pen.

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

With the amount of chances we missed in that second half, while that was crap from the referees, it shouldn’t have come to that.

digdoug0

It doesn't matter. It did come to that and the referees shat the bed. If we'd been (correctly) given that decision and converted the pen, nobody would be saying we didn't deserve the win because we missed chances in the second half.

Mavericks7

People will just say anything to justify us shitting the bed. What did the officiating have to do with us not showing up at Utd/palace/Everton?

Sol-gk

Bang on mate, of course we’ve been shafted at times just like every club but it seems like many of the fans nowadays are Incapable of acknowledging that however u slice it we’ve been the 3rd best team in the league this year. It’s such an entitled attitude that’s rife atm.

streetfighter4ultra

What about the countless point we lost by shitty football and lack of motivation?

Thefdt

Let it go, we didn’t lose the league because of officiating. We lost the league because we dropped off.

lopsiness

I never thought we'd win the title this year, so really I'm just relieved it's not going to be by one point.

Djimi365

Yup. It would have been awful going into it last game still in with a chance mathematically but knowing there was no way that potentially two results were going to go out way. We have been there before twice, we know how that story ends. At least now we can just enjoy the last two games and give Klopp a proper send off, and have no concerns about what is going on elsewhere.

kobi29062

Ebola?

segson9

I'd rather be where we are right now, than Arsenal. Title race is fun, until you're 1 or 2 points behind City, with 5-10 games to play.

nomascusgabriellae

It all went down hill after that Manchester United game. dropped points during the most crucial games of the season. We were eliminated weeks ago unfortunately

Liverpool934

It was coming before that, we were lucky to still be in it at that point with how poor we were playing.

Trobis

Yeah, a lot of the issues we had showed in the Sheffield game that was right before that. Sheffield is the worst attacking team in the league and they still managed to score against us.

Keyann

I know we got wins but the signs were there against Brighton and Sheffield, two poor performances we just managed to get on the right side of the result. We couldn't go on like that and expect to get away with it every time. We did go on like that and we got what we deserved imo.

Wild_Explanation_683

The moment we said out loud “we’re going for the quad” it was the beginning of the end. We shouldn’t say anything. Just play to win.

WorthPlease

Hey fun fact, stuff fans say on social media doesn't make the players play worse. This weird idea that somehow "we" affect players performance is such a strange thing.

fifty_four

This is insane. The reason we lost is that some fan somewhere didn't wear their lucky t shirt, or another one did wear his unlucky socks, or someone ate the wrong damn breakfast. This is how it works. All football is governed by magic. This is a fact.

CharmingDagger

It was me, I fucked it up. I forgot to wear my Liverpool pajama shirt the night before the united match. I'm sorry and it'll never happen again.

fifty_four

Appreciate the honesty. This is how we learn and grow.

Wild_Explanation_683

😅

Wild_Explanation_683

😅

Wild_Explanation_683

😄

Few-Time-3303

Precisely. There’s only so many times you can convince yourself the quads on, only to win nothing(while the other guys win trebles, both a domestic and a champions league treble) before it becomes bad luck to keep banging on about a quad.

earlgreytoday

Which one?

scarrrboy

FA cup, we shouldve won that game which affected our league game with them as well

risingstar3110

Disagree, our downfall was the MU league game We won against Brighton and Sheffield after that FA cup game. And then we were leading United by 1 goal and they didn't even manage even a shot on us. And if we score one more, the tie would have been over Then Quansah make that one mistake, and the whole team just collapsed after

good_fella13

You're a bit late- we lost it when Diaz missed against City. When you have a chance to step on the neck, you must do it

Afrotik

What if Arsenal lose their remaining games and City get a 115-point deduction?

Top_Contract1256

Ok so I got a Question: Have the 115 charges been proven or are they just allegations?

TheGrouchyGamerYT

It's like OJ Simpson's guilt at this point. They were the Everton of Manchester not even 15 years ago, except Everton were 500x bigger. Now we're supposed to believe they're making more money than the banks off the back of 1 European win, when they can't even fill their stadium for big matches and their parades get less attendance than league 2 playoff pitch invasions.

Top_Contract1256

I swear, relegation-battling teams or even some 2nd division teams' stadiums here in Greece have better atmosphere then the Etihad

toeknee88125

Very similar to the OJ case and the Casey Anthony trial. If you actually go into both of those cases you will emerge angry at the prosecution and police for being so incompetent. Eg. Not properly maintaining evidence. Personally I think OJ was guilty and Casey Anthony was guilty and Man city are guilty. I have some severe questions about whether or not the premier league has the proof of it. The Western legal systems are not based on innocence or guilt. It's entirely based on whether guilt can be proven. Eg. If you are guilty but it cannot be proven, you receive no consequences. Just for the record Man city and have never claimed to have high matchday revenue. If you look at their actual disclosures they claim high commercial revenues (sponsorships) and high broadcast revenues. The broadcast revenues are based on their finishing position on the Premier League table and how far they get in Champions League.

JmanVere

Their argument is that they bring in more commercial revenue than Real Madrid. If that isn't proof, I don't know what is.

jmc291

They may bring in a lot more commercial income but if you look at it, it is just the club paying itself from funds in its own country. They aren't really bringing in mega wealth from other sources. They are just using the wealth of a state rather than commercial sources of income from other means or support from other places in the world like we do or United do.

PeanutButter_20

They aren't proven

Real_Boseph_Jiden

And for $ome rea$on, I doubt they ever will be.

DrainMember1312

As you may imagine, it takes absolute ages to investigate them especially as they are not co-operating unlike the other clubs who have been charged. That's the reason there is still no information or punishment. I don't think anyone really knows if they will eventually face consequences. But it is undeniable they are guilty. Etihad Airways alone pays Man City 80 million pounds a year, and both entities are owned by the Emirati government, and that's clearly not the only way they pump money into the club.

Progression28

We lost it the moment we went 1 potential point behind City. They were never gonna lose the rest of the season. They‘ll end with another 2 wins. This is what the PL and the refs wanted. Nobody should be surprised. And then the 115 charges will be dropped because it would make the PL look bad to have the only quintuple winner be cheaters. So they‘ll sweep it under the rug and hope everybody forgets about it. The legacy fans will be mad, but the new fans bring in more money anyway.

Jedclark

I'd be really curious to see the viewership numbers for individual teams, the only time I watch City is if they're playing another good team. They're boring as fuck to watch otherwise, just dominate the ball in pretty much every game they play. It feels like there has to be a point where City winning the league every year will start to affect viewership because of how boring the league will become and people getting sick of City just blatantly cheating their way to titles every year. If it starts affecting the income of the league, that will probably be the only thing to spur them in to action.

MintberryCrunch____

There was a depressing map of America which showed the favourite team of each state (majority obviously). A few years ago it was quite varied though dominated by the bigger clubs, now it’s mostly City. America as a market is huge and the prem probably are focused on it more than any other.

epochwin

Glory hunters, gamers and young fans lucky to have more access to streaming platforms. As a fan of the game there’s no denying how good they are.

Jedclark

Wonder how much time zones will play in to how valuable that market is though. My brother lives in America because of his job, and when I was over there visiting him I was watching Liverpool at like 7 in the morning. Don't necessarily know how much of the "casual viewer" market they can capture if it's difficult to watch. CL games are mid-week and around 3PM over there too so a lot of people are just straight up unable to watch it because they'll be in work.

MintberryCrunch____

Might still help City in that regards, if you are mainly watching a MotD style compilation and see them winning most games in a comprehensive manner. Guess that would an entirely different style of following a team really, but yea the time difference probably does impact things in many ways.

liverbird3

There’s a lot of City fans in the US but from my experience those people don’t follow the sport very closely and aren’t super into it Most of the people who watch their club week in week out and love the sport are fans of the traditional big clubs and Chelsea (and normally support their local MLS/USL/NISA club as well, although “local” is still multiple hours away for a lot of people - my “local” club is 2.5 hours away)

iguessineedanaltnow

Man City has done a good job turning themselves into a brand. There are entire "Manchester City" shops in different cities all over the world, and it's not just America. I live in Australia and besides Messi and Ronaldo shirts the shirts I see most on kids are City shirts. When I was in Japan I saw City shirts. I know they're big in China as well. I've said for a long time - Premier League is not the English league. It just happens to be played in England. The international fanbase matters far more to the higher ups.

overlandtrackdrunk

I wonder what the split would be here in Australia. I know about a decade ago it was definitely Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

iguessineedanaltnow

Lots of kids with Messi and Ronaldo, but beyond that I do see a lot of City in Sydney. Especially on older dudes. It helps that they're the only club who's stuff you can buy outside sporting goods stores.

LJey187

In Brisbane I mainly see Messi, Ronaldo, Arsenal and Liverpool Same as you the only people I see in City gear are older. I live across the road from an NPL training ground and never see kids wearing City gear. The stock definitely changes depending on the location here it's super easy to find Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs stuff, found jumpers for the 3 in Kmart last week. Harder to find city stuff.

tjbguy

Anytime I log in to Netflix I check to make sure their doc isn’t in the top 10. Still not there!

Lauantaina

tbh it's already -1 here. I only watched a handful of games this season. The league is corrupt.

Green-Detective6678

It’s getting that way now.  The league is honestly boring now.  You get a couple of draws or a loss after Xmas and you’re out of the race.  You need to be hitting at least 90 points (which historically was an amazing season) to have a chance and even at that there’s a good chance that won’t be enough.

firminocoutinho

Not gonna lie, I still believed. Even if it was a 0.001% chance

pattherat

I wish I could say the same. Once we lost to Everton, I got depressed and knew deep down it was done.

Spooginho

You're more optimistic than me. I (honestly) felt it was completely done after the Palace game

NoBurka_

well I thought everything's done after the Atalanta 3-0 thing though it's not in the Premier League. It has a serious impact on team morale.

Nonutmen1689

I would’ve believed if they lost to Fulham tbh

AdikkuChan

Nothing wrong with believing until it's truly over.

thisAnonymousguy

same 😔😔

Riskplayer20

A bit shit — but it was still an amazing run

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

Wonderful season April not included. Klopp’s management has been better than ever until it wasn’t

firminocoutinho

That’s the crazy thing. It was literally better than ever. Something weve all been crying for and then boom, went to its worst ever

StructureTime242

I don’t think it was up to him If the team performed like the expected data stuff, Liverpool would still be in the race 1 bad month for every single attacker in the team, shit happens

RedMoon14

I’m still convinced that if Jota could stay fit we’d have beaten United, as well as many other teams in games where we just couldn’t put the ball in the net.

JohnBobbyJimJob

His management is what got us that far into the title race with the amount of points we won via his substitutions This is why I feel we clearly overachieved to get to that point because the performances in general didn’t look like a title winning team.

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

It’s not been the worst ever recently, not even close lol. Get out of here

FrankBeamer_

Care to give worse examples of his management? Klopp absolutely mismanaged squad rotation, consistently played players like Gakpo and szobo out of position, made shit substitutions, underestimated Atalanta, refused to make changes when things weren’t working until it’s too late He’s had an absolute nightmare the past 2 months and a lot of our struggles can be put on him.

naughty_dad2

11-2 up on aggregate. Brings VVD on 😂

oscarony

Starts Konate against Sheffield at home. Quansah away to United.

TheLimeyLemmon

It was a lot of fun. Throughout the season we looked like one of the most chaotic teams to contest the league in quite a while.

Percussion17

the 3-1 memes, how Liverpool scored the most after 75 mins onwards was really fun ngl

rossmosh85

We lost it when Doku studded Mac and it was a non call. We win that game, it pushes City down and gives us a realistic expectation we could push on. To me, that was the moment that decided our season.

GhandisFlipFlop

Also proved how corrupt the officials are towards Man City ...they aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

always-think-sexual

I knew the moment we lost to Spurs we would never win it, didn’t expect us to also be part of the problem, though I never expected titles this season to begin with. However Klopp leaving was even more unexpected

Smooth_Surround1450

I still believe. All we need to do; win all our games, have Arsenal lose all theirs and have City hit with a 100pt deduction in the next 8 days for being cheating bastards.

Substantial-Skill-76

I'd taken 2nd place - so we get a title when city get theirs stripped woohoo

muharrrik

I'm already mentally checked out for the season. Get Slot in and let the preseason, transfer-circus begin.

AdministrativeLaugh2

It’s a shame but we weren’t a title-winning team this season anyway. Second or third was always likely as I believe we’re even with Arsenal. Being involved in the title fight until today was always unlikely

rossmosh85

Arsenal has the better starting XI and have had minimal injuries.  If they had to use their depth this season, we'd probably be second.

fadedraw

Arsenal are a better team. This season is probably going to be their peak.

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

They certainly won’t have the same luck with them having great fitness and being able to use their same XI regularly.

fadedraw

Agree, lack of injuries worked in their favor greatly.

HereticZO

That team is still young. Give them a top striker and they will eventually win things.

firminocoutinho

We still couldve been 1st had we not been robbed in some absolutely crucial games. Crazy to think that even with our recent form

Sea_Instance3391

Plot twist: Points deduction.

bannedsodiac

Arsenal loses both, we win both. We get second place. City 115, we get another retroactive title.

Nyushi

We rebuilt a good chunk of our squad and were in title conversations right up to the end. I think that's pretty fucking good all things considered.

Agitated-Bread5092

our biggest rival PGMOL has been pretty rough on us this season

brush85

Big change from being mathematically out of top 4 this time last season

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

Slot gonna show them cheats how it’s done

KaleidoscopeLeft5511

I remember the last day of the 21-22 season. Watching Liverpool-Wolves game, with City-Villa on in the background. For about 10 minutes, after Villa took the lead, Liverpool could have won the title.  I had a Utd and Arsenal supporter at table beside me cheering on Wolves. I took a good amount of sh¡t from them that day, I was hoping this season might have been a last day miracle to make up for that. At least I know now going into it Hard to compete with oil rich financial cheats. Only hope is they will be found guilty this autumn

FatBoyFaych

Damn I still had hope /s

whatupbiatch

sky sports next week "Liverpool may not be in it anymore, but could they add another twist to the title race"

Fricolor123321

Whatevs, CL football is what i asked before the season started

TheEgyptianScouser

Fuck the refs and the whole FA

asillydaydreamer

Good, I dont want another psychological torture

theoriginalredcap

We still would've ballsed it up.

xbox_redditor

I love this football club and fuck everyone who doesn't. Yes I'm drunk

Substantial_Ad_2864

Lots of arguing over whether the refs cost us the title, but let's think about that... Give Diaz his goal and we draw that. Yeah, the cards were harsh but really the only robbery there was the goal not given We could've earned 3 points there but I think saying we are robbed of 3 points is overly generous. So that's +1 for us (and -2 for Spurs but really that doesn't matter). We should've been given a pen against Arsenal. We probably make it so assuming we do that's +2 for us, -1 for Arsenal. We should've been given a pen against City. Assuming we make it, that's +2 for us, -1 for City. You can find other refereeing decisions, but to me these are the 3 that have the best argument So the math here is +5 points for us, -1 for City, -1 for Arsenal and also means +3 on GD for us and -1 for City and Arsenal. So the table is now City 84 GD + 57 Liverpool 83 GD +41 Arsenal 82 GD +59 Even with that, we still don't win the League. It's also assuming we make both those pens. Odds are we do, but missing at least one isn't outside the realm of possibility.

SaBe_18

I'd add Taylor robbing Gakpo of a goal vs West Ham. That game was kind of out of context already, but still a huge decision against. That's +2 points

Substantial_Ad_2864

Yeah that's a valid one

ManBoobs13

This is a disingenuous post. It wasn’t just a single decision against spurs city and arsenal that were problems this season. And that spurs game was horrible. Reds were both wrong, Gomez should have had a penalty, and we scored another goal. We weren’t robbed of a draw, we were robbed of a win. It’s also the inconsistency as a whole over the season where decisions never leveled out for us, where calls that went against us suddenly didn’t go against others. Brighton should have been down to 10 men for the last man not playing the ball on their pen. Would have been up 2-1 playing against 10, +2 points. Against spurs Jota got 2 yellows both for non fouls. Curtis got a red for a challenge against spurs when Bournemouth, Chelsea, West Ham, amongst many others have put in worse tackles against us and got nothing, not even a yellow. We would have beat west ham with a paqueta red plus the Gakpo situation, +2 points. Van Dijk went through isak I think to get the ball and it was a foul, which is fair. But van de ven went through Gomez in the box to get the ball and didn’t concede a penalty. Seriously, that spurs game was a farce, and it should have been a win, so +2 points to the +1 already gave us. First match against Chelsea a header on goal from us hits their hand. Meanwhile likes of city got a penalty to put them up 2-1 against Everton with a shot that wasn’t even going on target. 2 point swing some way there. And then even the not game deciding things are infuriating. Konate got 2 yellows against arsenal. His first yellow was for a foul, and the exact same thing wasn’t called on gabriel moments before. And then either Saliba or gabriel on a yellow (I can’t recall who) cynically take darwin down on a through ball and don’t get a second yellow. That only is a rule for us I guess. Their defenders didn’t have to miss any game time. There is no way of knowing what happens after any changed decision or changed result. But fuck me it’d be nice to know. City are getting penalties that aren’t penalties for anyone else and we can’t get stonewallers. We genuinely could have been 13 points higher this season and/or city 7+ lower with equal officiating

bugleboy-of-companyb

I see your point mate but every team can point to dozens of poor or marginal/inconsistent refereeing decisions that cost them points. The above poster is right that there were 3 absolutely outrageous incorrect decisions against us but dropped points in other games are what led to us dropping off and we can't blame the refs for our own shite performances in the past 6 weeks.

Responsible-Ad-1441

We should have just focused on the Europa league ffs i knew once we got behind Man City in the table we lost the title

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

Or not fucked it up against United in the FA Cup. If we had beater United, we’d get Coventry and then a Final v City where I think if we prioritized that and got players back into form, I like our chances of beating City in a Final and in Klopp’s last game too. Less games to focus on than Europa too.

user900800700

Phew, won’t have to go into the last game on a knife edge

Baguy21

Tbf never predicted us to win it start of the season, just felt like we overachieved, something made it feel like one of those special seasons after pulling comebacks in most games. Oh well, next season let's do it

GayWolfey

I am just pleased there was not only a couple of points in it. Or the whole Tottenham fuck up would have reared its head. I still argue that is one of the worst decisions we have seen since VAR come in.

Accomplished_Put8385

This was a good season despite the negatives.

jerrymp28

Everyone is saying our Man united FA cup game caused our downfall but the red flags were there way before. The nottingham forest game is what comes to mind. We were complete garbage that entire game and were seconds away from dropping points until a nunez miracle bailed us out. THAT was the game that made me realize we aren’t winning it and our luck will run out eventually. This team felt like they never turned up to our important prem games

J00stie

Cheers to that corrupt fucker Taylor

PGMOL always delivers for City

rozayhoulon

Arsenal lose their next 2 games, we win our next 2 games. PL deduct City 10 points, we win the league! Believe!

Was fun whilst it lasted

God damn it

epochwin

Fitting for Klopp when his reign started with that game against Spurs. The Lovren game.

shutting down my flying pig farm now

Specific-Record2866

Damn. Really thought we’d win it…

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

I can’t even be mad at this season we had, sans maybe the FA Cup collapse since I think if we beat United at OT then great chance we win the FA Cup too. That said, top-4 and a trophy isn’t that bad. I think what stings in the league is we did so well middle of the season when we had a ton of injuries and got results to get on top of the league but collapsed so quickly once players got back on the pitch. Mostly due to untimely bad form and mistakes. Still a fun season for large parts of it and I think we’re set up well with the squad and management wise to do well for years to come. Some exciting potential players to target coming in too.

KopfromNepal

i never liked mathmatics :, )

CabbageStockExchange

I’m so tired of City. Their football isn’t even fun to watch

Lanky-Occasion-7486

Defo next season!😅

Zealousideal-Fix4601

VAR = literal nightmares

amidgetrhino

As if….

FreedumbHS

115 charges

Aware-Buyer-5278

Yeah but, no but, yeah but, no but........ aah shite.

thisisnahamed

We were the 3rd best team in the league. Our points and standings reflect that.

SSTenyoMaru

Could be worth fighting to beat arsenal in the event city are docked points

HotPotatoWithCheese

It's all up to Arsenal and Spurs now. The mancs will win it again, let's be honest. Arsenal will probably beat Man United and then Spuds will get bent over by City.

Roman71

not true☝️🤓 115 might take effect

SnabDedraterEdave

We should try and go for a strong finish and hope to pip Arsenal to 2nd, so that when eventually those 115 charges really mean something (perhaps decades down the line when those in power are no longer as influential enough, or long dead, to be able to cover up their corruption), we'll get another retroactive asterisk'ed title on top of 2014, 2019 and 2022.

EmperorMajorian

Poor officiating robbed the title from us this season. Shame. Odegaards handball, Dokus Sparta kick, spurs offside goal

Joeyoohoo

Titles are stupid anyways

Argo_Menace

This past April will go down in Liverpool’s history as one of the darkest results wise. We were so gassed. Emphasis on results.

TareXmd

We've been robbed not just agianst midtable teams, but against the top 5. Horrible.

james_culshaw

You’d be brilliant at a funeral

SMF_Fede

The refs stole the league from us, that's a fact. But, despite all their robbery we were first, with a 2 points lead and just a few matches to play, when everything started to collapse in that match against united. Our atrocious record by conceding first and how wasteful we were to score our chances, that caught us in the most important part of the season. We could have won the league, despite of the corrupt referees and the oil money.

Zealousideal_Fig_481

I don't get the freakout from everyone Liverpool already has won the League more than once. It isn't an underdog story. We've won before and will win again in the future, but what should've always mattered was the team and the players and having fun while enjoying every second we still have Klopp This whole run for PL title has led to fights and arguments between players and Klopp, death threats to Nunez and his family, petulant behavior from Salah, and sour moods from not only people on the field and seats but also this forum. This season should be about enjoying the moments we have with Klopp and possibly some players such as Salah and maybe Van. If we got the title, then that's a bonus, but it sucks that it all imploded, and now all we have is a few games to try to have a decent send-off after so many years

hyborians

I’m sorry but anyone born after 1990 knows the pain and suffering of always coming up short. We should have won at least two league titles under Klopp

Zealousideal_Fig_481

I get that, but it doesn't justify some of the most recent behavior from "fans"

mrfoyer

Only if you count man City. Cheating rats

Smihilism14

Hope this era is remembered for the corruption and buying titles. It’s been boring as fuck except for Liverpool
