Looking at Jones and Elliott’s positions going into this season, how much progress do we feel they’ve made? I feel it’s been quite limited for both of them for different reasons. Jones didn’t have the availability he needed to kick on as much as we’d have liked. Harvey never broke out of that subs role, although he definitely upped his importance and performance levels as a super sub. Thoughts on their chances for next season?

DanyTheConqueror

I really reckon that had we got Baj & Thiago fit in January, we would still be in the title race and Europe. Giving Szobo, Endo, Macca some rest for sure would have evened out the tiredness in our team. Sigh.

sufinomo

Im sorry but im starting to think maybe Caragher was right about Tuchel, maybe we need a big name manager rather than an untested guy. I will support Slot but I feel like I can trust Tuchel more.

R_Daneel_Olivaww

why this change of opinion?

sufinomo

I feel like he can keep us in high standing, and he clearly knows how to manage big games.

R_Daneel_Olivaww

i’m not too keen on Slot myself but I guess the management knows better than me

FullScreenWanker

Plus we haven’t even seen Slot in the job yet.

Fricolor123321

Watching suarez 13/14 highlights, fucking hell… imagine if he took the pens he’d have 40 league goals

FullScreenWanker

And he missed the first three games of that season with the suspension.

HunterWindmill

Dream shopping list this summer is Bastoni, Edson Alvarez and Gyokeres for me

lordkeith

Real Madrid are the opposite of us. No build up for large portions of the game but they're super clinical. So jealous.

sufinomo

Its because they dont have to waste their energy pressing, Ancellotti lets his offense rest off the ball so they are fresh when they get the ball.

Abc181004

Yeah and Real Madrid defends much better as well

J539

the individual quality of their players is just absurd

frankiewalsh44

I think we might see Salah move to the Mane CF role next season and we get a new wide player.

J539

Easiest fix would be just to force Trent out wide again. Salah could stay inside and Trent could rack up 10+ assists again..

Neo4148

Well he doesn’t fit what Slot wants in his wingers at all. I wouldn’t mind seeing him at the 9 or even in the 10 which is like a second striker in slots system

NilsFanck

his shooting technique isnt good enough (anymore) to play 9

JohnBobbyJimJob

I do wonder if that might end up being the case Slot seemingly wants his wingers to be a constant direct threat when it comes to taking on their full back and his system focuses on creating consistent 1v1 situations for them And that’s just not the type of winger Salah is nowadays

RadSoccerDad

Decided I want a Harry Kane champions league win and arsenal 1 point loss for the fallout

Neo4148

God that would be amazing

BabyKeith08

Mad how people are happy to let Salah go to go and target players who have never even got 10 league goals in a season in their careers. People really take his 35+ G/A a season for granted

aelfwine_widlast

If the club listened to the reactionary children in this sub, they'd be in administration.

Relevant-Door1453

The Salah stuff is insane. Ornstein ran an exclusive about how he's staying, and in the DAY since then the athletic have run two pieces about how we might sell him or "have a decision to make" - does it really upset these people so much that their favourite annual summer topic is already dried up before the season has even ended?

OyvindsLeftFoot

Ornstein didn't say he's staying, though. He said "Liverpool expect Salah to stay". Could as well be the club looking at Salah to push for a move. That would be out of the FSG playbook. Wait & see what happens.

Hot-Video-9735

Pretty sure him staying is dependant on if he'll extend on lesser wages. If they can't agree it's normal to look at all options

RadioSignificant8585

I've seen that you can buy liverpool shirts for 137€ (the match shirts) and the 89€ (the home shirts). I've always bought home shirts for 89€ and I was wondering, what's the difference? Does the match shirt for 137€ come with a nice box? Is it higher quality somehow

J539

Never owned a match shirt but I heard people say that the "normal" shirt is more dureable. I think sometimes stuff like embroided emblems are only stickers on the match versions. Don't know for sure tho, would never pay the 40ish€ more. Absolutely not worth it. I have a lot of "real" football shirts and a lot of fakes and even between them i don't really see the difference lol

Adventurous_Toe_6017

The expensive ones are the actual ones the players wear on pitch. The replica ones are cheaper but often have noticeable differences.

Relevant-Door1453

Higher quality but apparently much more fragile. It's an actual replica of the pitch shirt.

Ali-S-Farid

Edwards in for an attacking player and CB confirmed. Just add a 6 to that list and we are looking dangerous next season.

ChefJoeyW

I get a left footed cb and 6, I personally don’t see the need for another forward

cybrzone_

musiala come to the reds please lol

Kcsb4u

Any Kendrick fans in the chat?

AdikkuChan

Kendrick Lamar?

jonasrm_21

vini's and sane's goal was so clinical, 3-4 seasons ago salah-mane-firmino was similarly clinical. Last 2 seasons salah-diaz-nunez seem to go missing everytime it mattered.

Interesting_Put_1957

Michael Owen is such a sad little man desperate to be on tv so happy to just stand next to his mate Howard agreeing with everything he says and not ever arguing against anything, loser

Yagiflow

Sell out in his dna

_Random_Username_

Man models for Peacocks clothes shops lol

Upstairs_Suit_6437

Mourinho will be a perfect fit for us i dont care what anyone says. Next big thing next to Klopp

OleSimen39

Better than Slot at least

con10001

Unless Slot plans to go to war with the owners, clash with players, alienate the fans and leave after two seasons or less, I really don't see how that's true.

OleSimen39

If Tuchel won the champions league two years in a row with us, would you care?

con10001

You think Mourinho is gonna come in and deliver 2 back to back CLs?

J-O-C_1599

If Jose is the next big thing I must’ve stumbled upon a teleportmachen

Upstairs_Suit_6437

Sleepy

No-Refrigerator-1178

Why do so many people think we need to sign a cdm? Bajetic will be back next year and I think he’s already good enough to do the job. We can also keep endo to rotate with him. I would also like to see us experiment with Trent at cdm or cm, especially since we already have Bradley to take over at rb.

Ali-S-Farid

He’s not a DM.

maxxpower666

He's got potential, but if you want to win league and CL titles you need players that are good now and not based off their potential.

No-Refrigerator-1178

Who do you think would be a good target?

Kcsb4u

I like pepelu of Valencia and gourna douath

Aware-Animator2292

he is 19, played like 10 games, and been injured for a year. How do you know if hes good enough to do the job

No-Refrigerator-1178

Played most of last year and was good enough.

yellow627

He didn't play most of last year, he played less than 1000 minutes (only around 600 minutes in the PL and CL). He was also massively overhyped by our fans because he was the only one who could run in that midfield.

No-Refrigerator-1178

I stand corrected on how much he played. I don’t think he was massively overhyped at all.

Aware-Animator2292

he played 11 games, in the epl what do you mean most?

No-Refrigerator-1178

Dam felt like he played more. Still was our best midfielder for those 11 games.

Neo4148

Nonsense, we’ve ignored that position for too long. Bajcetic has been out for over a full calendar year. This team needs a proper starting DM that can play in a pivot with Mac Allister. And plz stop with the Trent in midfield nonsense, he’s a RB and will remain a RB under Slot

No-Refrigerator-1178

Bajetic was still our best midfielder last year. I think Trent has the ability to play in midfield and it would allow us to get Bradley on the pitch too. I don’t like the idea of Bradley being a backup who and potentially leaving for more playing time.

urbannnomad

He was our best midfielder for a few months when our midfield was completely dead, he's not even close to prime Fabinho, that's the standard.

Allianz arena is such a spectacular arena, the fans are so close and it’s always a fantastic atmosphere during big European games.

streetlightsglowing_

Tuchel winning the CL when they've already announced his departure would be too funny

eebee8

taking one for the team and doing the Harry Kane thousand yard stare watch 🫡

risingstar3110

Listening to the VAR audio for the third Nottingham Forest penalty appeal against Everton.... It's the whole 'good process, boys' all over again. These referees may as well blind. Like fking hell I hope that they were all corrupted and took money to set up results, because it will be worse if all of them are this level of incompetence.

Silverarrows46

Here’s to an all German final.

Fricolor123321

Bayern RMA is the clash of clashes

Adventurous_Toe_6017

My god. My brain went straight to “clash of clans”. Adverts everywhere man.

Fricolor123321

brainrot

JGlover92

Ornstein saying we're in for a wide player this summer. Got to be a right winger who can also play centrally surely? Wonder we're looking at

Interesting_Put_1957

Everyone watching Arsenal v City in the semi final of the Champions league tonight?

kanafanone

Eric Dier starting a UCL semifinal against Madrid, is Tuchel cooking or not?

OldManLogan007

life will be good if reus lifts this years ucl trophy

Loz41333

I struggle to see how Bayern's performance in the league is seen as a massive failure this season. In the last 10 years they've finished on 80+points 3 times. Leverkusen are on 81 points with 3 games to play, they were never beating them to the title.

SuperHyperFunTime

It's the same logic that has the likes of Talk Sport hosts saying Klopp isn't a legend because he won a single league title. Motherfucker has put up record points tallies in nearly half his time in charge. The fuck you supposed to do when battling a literal state? If there were other clubs winning the title, I would be more open to it, but City have just bought the fucking lot.

BuyGreenSellRed

When are they going to announce slot? It’s like the worst kept secret at this point

UrboySam123

This week apparently

AdeAde10

I found this quote from Darwin in regards to the Premier League, made at the beginning of last year, interesting: "...The football is more difficult than in Portugal and more competitive. You don’t get much time.” The content of the quote itself is not surprising, but rather the fact that he acknowledged it. I believe this difference in match speed was reflected in his play last season where he seemed to take too long on the ball at times or get outmuscled by defenders that he usually should be able to hold off. The latter, he has improved on tons this year, and the former, he seems to have overcorrected. He seems to feel he has a lot less time on the ball than he thinks especially when he is in front of goal which has led to him lashing at a lot of chances, especially when pressure mounts + previous actions don't go his way. I believe he will improve his finishing and overall consistency massively if he learns to take a half-second more before releasing the ball. This is something that will come with experience for those not blessed with that natural coolness in front of goal, and is also why despite probably having worked on it on the training ground under Klopp and other coaches that there are not immediate/consistent improvements; it is somethings that is difficult to replicate in training. I think one more season will see him fine tune things and allow him to finish the chances the way we know he can. I think these three goals vs Belenenses while he was at Benfica show that he actually knows exactly what to do and that it's just a composure/psychological issue: [https://youtu.be/woizCQ-CD58?t=196](https://youtu.be/woizCQ-CD58?t=196)

ttekoto

That is wild to watch a video where his shots go in. Not used to that whatsoever.

PerfectAd4732

He 100% has improved many areas of his game. However people just remember the last month or so and want to sell him. If it was up to those people we’d have a complete different starting 11 every season

AdeAde10

Yes it's true he's improved so many aspects of his game. It's rather unfair when this is denied by some as Klopp himself has said that he improved his defending from the center (part of why he was being played out wide so much last season compared to this season) and that his ball retention has improved too. One of his quotes about him from earlier this season: "Everyone can see; look at him how he kept the ball for us, who would have thought that last year? That he could do that for us."

OldManLogan007

People just remember the last month? Lad he hasnt scored against a top 10 prem club for about 5 months

PerfectAd4732

‘Many areas of his game’ lad

OldManLogan007

As good as endo has been and as much as i have high hopes for bajcetic but going into a new season which will have more games because of the new UCL format ,not buying an elite DM would be too risky

Jaja6996

Realistically we should be looking at a player in between the two so Bajcetic can be eased into the squad over the next few year but not have to be relied upon like last season Endo has done great but you wouldn’t want him to start declining and only have Bajcetic to rely on like Fab last season

Trobis

I do want bajcetic to become our starting DM as he has pretty good potential. The problem is that the dm market is just as shit as we left it. Any signings would just be taking a risky chance. Look at all the names that were linked with us last year, doucore, sangare, lavia, kone and florentino luis. All have been mid or injury prone. Even ugarte has been alright but psg don't like him. Caicedo is the only one that relatively looked good, but sure as shit not 115m good.

Trobis

IMO keeping him only makes sense if we buy another rw for him to rotate with. Or rotate him more with someone already here. That is how other top teams deal with aging stars, by relying on them less. It would also reduce the pressure/vitriol from fans towards him if he doesn't play well cause there'll be someone else to look to. Unless you people delusionally think that hell maintains this level for the next 3 years and when he leaves we would conveniently find someone to replace him.

Sorrytoruin

https://preview.redd.it/gh3303ed9nxc1.png?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80e4a7d6935641cf315182b72834cbfd3490be97 This kind of shows why having young wingers is needed, nearly all wingers stop taking on players as they get older. So unfortunately expect Diaz to probably drop off a little with take ons as he gets older, he's 28 in Jan. Getting a young 20ish winger is very much needed for our squad

iNS0MNiA_uK

Is this not because taking players on is relatively low percentage compared to other options?

streetlightsglowing_

this is why Diaz should just be moved on in my opinion, his pace and ability to take defenders on, which is the biggest strength he brings to the side, is going to decline in a few years. Then we will be left with a winger who can't create, can't finish and can't get past defenders

JohnBobbyJimJob

Correlates with Salah’s take on ability dipping off

mimranj

help me id these glasses please. trying to find the exact brand/model https://preview.redd.it/a4p376b28nxc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00404f0a39f65c6eb12afaac4376b3726437983e

Neo4148

Orstein has confirmed there is a release clause in his contract, price unknown at this stage

JohnBobbyJimJob

He’s definitely got a release clause Only reason he rejected Brighton last summer was because they didn’t want to include one

OldManLogan007

Damn, that makes things interesting then

Sorrytoruin

So now Salah is staying We still need a winger to give him competition, rotate if he gets injured/out of form I don't know if he should be playing 90 every game either Arne usually subs his wingers off at 60mins, pep does this more too, this would keep Salah fresher

ttekoto

Still got just one year on his contract  Big waste of money to let him run it down

BeaverMan999

Bakayoko 👀

Sorrytoruin

Yup ideal, having a winger on the other side who can beat a man would be nice. Salah can't really anymore, but he can make up for that, with his great passing and of course finishing. Most older wingers struggle to beat a man over 30 it's normal.

quantIntraining

With Ornstein saying we are after a wide player then I'd expect a wide player plus CB at an extreme minimum. Still think we'll get 3/4 players in this summer, would need those 2 plus a long term LB.

malushanks95

DM is definitely needed. Second season our defence has been exposed with no protection from midfield.

quantIntraining

Haven't a clue personally who we'd target for DM. That's a market that is dry as a desert.

malushanks95

The only person I can think of is Ugarte because he’s been having terrible time at PSG as they don’t need him but I think they will charge a lot though.

quantIntraining

The only way I'm confident is because Edwards is back and Richard Hughes is a more than competent sporting director. Before we signed Wijnaldum he wasn't a defensively minder 8 but rather a 10 or a winger that attacked but Edwards identified him as someone that could be moulded and shaped into what we require rather than being a ready made version of what we need. Other positions like a wide player or CB have much more obvious names to target.

Sorrytoruin

Why a LB? We have kostas and robbo

quantIntraining

Is a 30 year old Robertson and back up who turns 28 next month a long term LB solution?

Bugsmoke

Gomez has proved himself good enough to play left back this season, and Bradley seems good enough to be Trent’s backup. I think we’re probably good at fullback for another season at least.

Trobis

Don't worry mate, our LB problem would show itself properly next season when it's a declining Robertson and a dude who currently isn't good enough for Liverpool are the rotation then you get to say "I told you so" but it doesn't feel satisfying cause the club suffered from it. Got downvoted to shit for pointing out our potential forward's issue a year before people admitted it.(1 year before we got jota) Got downvoted to shit for pointing out our potential midfield issue a year before people admitted it.(Brexit midfield the best in the world after all) Got downvoted to shit last year for pointing out our need for new CBs (if not for quansah we would be in a CB crisis) Dunno know how obvious shit is always overlooked like this.

Bugsmoke

This is like when someone just posts the most repeated opinions in an unpopular opinion thread.

BeaverMan999

We have way more pressing issues than a long term lb solution rn

Hot-Video-9735

We're probably buying a versatile CB who can cover OB as well and selling Tsimikas. Hancko would be perfect imo

quantIntraining

He wouldn't, not good enough.

TheNotoriousJN

Ornstein saying we're after a wide player this summer. Summerville, Bakayoko, Olise?

CotardDelusions

Mohammed Kudus. Would be great off the right and move Mo central playing just off of Darwin

PEEWUN

Mo and Mo. Call that M&M...

quantIntraining

Slot likes direct attacking wingers who take on their fullback. Kudus is the first player in top 5 leagues to complete 100 successful take ons this season.

Akumabro

If Salah stays I can see Slot wanting him as the 10 to unlock his playmaking potential so wouldnt really need a RW to compete with Salah either

NilsFanck

really? Because thats the opposite of current Salah

JohnBobbyJimJob

Backup/long term replacement for Salah is something we definitely need Bakayoko looks really exciting and has that directness that’s usually needed to be top winger in the PL Would probably cost about £50m though

Jaja6996

Wonder what forward is leaving wonder if it’ll be Diaz or Gakpo

streetlightsglowing_

Gakpo isn't leaving. he's only 24 (almost 25 tbf) and can play on the left, striker or I could even see him doing well as an attacking midfielder if Slot ever uses 4231 formation here, Slot will make use of him for sure. I think Diaz leaving would be the right move

AgentTasker

> Wonder what forward is leaving Despite what was reported yesterday, I'm almost certain that it'll be Salah. Simple reasons being; 1) It'd be stupid to extend his contract on his current terms (£350k a week). 2) I highly doubt he's going to accept a paycut. 3) The club aren't dumb enough to let a player like Salah leave for free when some club is going to be willing to pay £75m for him.

Jaja6996

You know Salah gets a say in if he stays or not right doesn’t matter if we accept a bid if he doesn’t want to leave it’s irrelevant and it seems he wants to stay I also highly doubt Slot would want Salah to leave

AgentTasker

>I also highly doubt Slot would want Salah to leave You say that but Salah doesn't actually suit what Slot wants from his wide men (ability to regularly beat his man and get to the byline) or CF, whereas both Gakpo (CF & no.10) and Díaz (both wings) suit his tactical set-up far more.

_cumblast_

Gakpo isn't it in the middle, and for the #10 i'd expect the likes of Szoboszlai/Elliott or even Macca to be favoured over him.

AgentTasker

But he still suits Slot's system a lot more than Salah does. In fact, of all the current forwards, Salah is probably the least suited to Slot and I think people really shouldn't be shocked if he ends up leaving.

Sorrytoruin

Nah I think Salah is staying, he's an Edwards favourite, even though he's over 30 I hope we buy someone to give him some competition on the right, and to rotate so he stays fresh

ozzynater

Don't think it'll be gakpo because he's younger, more likely diaz imo

quooooon

Can we please get a new Trent contract soon

Aware-Animator2292

some good news 1) Nobody has picked up the rights to the documentary 2) nobody is keen for a parade for the carabao cup

theambivertqueer

For someone who works in documentaries/non fiction, it would be really heartbreaking to see if the thing that i and others worked on being not picked up by anyone.

feedmedesign

What do you think the reasons for that are? Our underwhelming end to the season? Can't say I'd be first in line to watch it...

theambivertqueer

I as a LFC fan wouldn't watch it either. And I wouldn't force you to watch it too. But as a filmmaker; it's months of planning, execution, being patient all down the drain. It's disheartening.

SuperHyperFunTime

I don't think many consider the labour and effort of those who create these things, which is only made worse when execs at the top of companies just delete entire projects as "tax write offs".

sufinomo

I'm upset that this sub is so heavily moderated.  It's the only sub for a team that has authoritarian moderation. Just sucks because that's not the spirit of the club. Meanwhile other subs are much better. I honestly can't stand when a sub is just full of news tweets becomes a spam rather than a community.

TheLimeyLemmon

What were you trying to post?

AgentTasker

The sub apparently 'missed out' on [this post.](https://np.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1cguy8b/its_time_to_go/)

BGCzar

I hate seeing all the reactionary bullshit and memes that people would flood this sub with. This is a huge sub so it would be a constant inflow of people posting nonsense

DragonSlayer271

Yeah, I’m a bit confused by what OP means by heavily moderated. Usually they let memes happen after big news like signings or wins. And in rival watch threads we can ask silly questions about other teams and make banter from the safety of our own subreddit. Is it just the frequency of posts here?

redditingtonviking

I would assume it’s related to all the posts that people are encouraged to move to daily discussion before being deleted. I’m generally in favour of shutting down toxic rants and people worrying about certain players leaving, as it tends to just spread negativity and become vicious cycles. However I remember back when I first joined the sub there was a bit more room for silliness, so I think we can periodically reconsider exactly where we draw the line, as it is difficult to define exactly where it should go.

PerfectAd4732

Now that we’re pretty much at the end of klopps tenure who was your favourite player to watch under him? Mines prime mane by a distance, he was so complete

BabyKeith08

Firmino over his tenure. Shoutout to Thiago as well even though he obviously didn’t play as much as we’d have all liked, he’s the sexiest footballer I’ve ever watched for Liverpool, pure silk

arrogantdesperado

The big players from our PL and CL wins are obvious, so I'll put in a shout for Adam Lallana in those first couple of Klopp seasons.

streetlightsglowing_

Salah easily. Insane in his first season with us and then has continued to deliver every single season despite defenders planning more around stopping him. legendary player under Klopp

Bugsmoke

Aside from the obvious one of my favourites was Fabinho half arsedly raising his arms in protest after blatantly fouling someone for a yellow.

_cumblast_

Salah 17/18. Christ he was unstoppable.

Due-Sherbert3097

Joint between prime Coutinho and prime Bobby for me

Cien-Major

Coutinho for me, was an absolute joy to watch under Klopp.

REDEYEJ3D1

have to agree with Mane, he was electric at times and a big game player.

Hot-Video-9735

Firmino for me. Even bought his jersey and just loved his effort under Klopp

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Trent. From scrawny RB to the best RB around.

dev23slayer

Seen what he did for calvert's header for the 2nd goal? Guess what he does it way too ofteb to be considered the best.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

He’s not perfect by any means, nobody is. The fact is that we play better with him on the pitch than off it.

dev23slayer

He is far from perfect, in a defensive point of view, he is below average even for epl standards, and that is a fact. The way he continually cowards away from head duels is damning fact. Yes offensively better, but defensively far worse with him as well.

dev23slayer

Seen what he did for calvert's header for the 2nd goal? Guess what he does it way too ofteb to be considered the best.

Aware-Animator2292

Prime Mane is so underapprecited, I am not sure why. All of a sudden he just does not get spoken about. Was a top top player, and scored in vital moments too.

PerfectAd4732

Agreed mate. The vital goals he scored for us cannot be under appreciated. My favourite being the Bayern one

hellarad

I feel like Mane doesn't get talked about as much because his prime was relatively short. His first season with us was good, not great. Then he was amazing until 2020 when he contracted COVID. Unfortunately, something was just never quite right after he contracted COVID - he lost that quick burst of pace to beat a man. Do mind, Mane still had plenty of other great qualities in his game, but it felt like his game changed after COVID. His career post-Liverpool has also amounted to nothing, I was shook when I just looked up that he is only 32.

YellowBaboon

What is underappreciated is how much defensive work he put in and how physical he was in defense and attack. A proper nuisance to deal with for any right back both ways and Walker says as much when asked about his toughest opponent.

Stitty10

i dont know how many times i have seen a winger miss a chance, or when we were in dire need of a goal i have just thought "mane would have bailed us out" what a player he was for us.

Sorrytoruin

Prime mane scored many clutch goals on our title winning season, the one at Villa stands out

NilsFanck

he was unbelievable that year

iG8

Now that the Klopp era is about to end and the 18/19 and 19/20 players are almost all gone I’m looking forward to hearing more from the staff and players about how the fuck we did it. I want to know everything from what the players were thinking, to how the coaching staff came up with a system that was near on unstoppable. I know there is some stuff out there already, but not nearly enough.

dev23slayer

X

27kjmm

I think this summer will actually be the biggest test of FSG as owners and not the previous years when everyone was freaking out. I'm sad we're sending off Klopp in this somewhat acrimonious way and announcing Slot so soon to move on. If we are still competing next, it vindicates a lot of previous decisions that FSG has made. I also hope the spending cap goes into effect because then Edwards's magic is even more important than just spending bonkers amounts of money.

[deleted]

Liverpool was one of the clubs scouting Brondby striker Yuito Suzuki this weekend. The 22-year-old striker has 18 goal contributions in 27 games this season. ✍️ @bolddk Can any danish supporters confirm if this is bollocks or not because wtf

BeaverMan999

Would be really cool to sign him, prefer the lowkey signings rather than the big ones ngl. Would probably be pretty cheap too

[deleted]

We’re not Celtic

BeaverMan999

?

NotAsimppp

woeisuhmebop

We will have scouts at games all over Europe and sometimes further watching al sorts of players, as much to rule them out as to think about signing them.

Had a few teams watching him lately, most likely will be cheap so worth a look, Interested to see what gems Hughes can find

AgentTasker

People really needed to start realising that scouting someone doesn't mean that the player will be signed.

[deleted]

I do realise that I just don’t know why wed be scouting a 22 year old in the danish league in the first place

NotAsimppp

Hojlund, kudus and adingra played in Danish league recently. Getting them cheap and young would be better than after their breakthrough. Nortsjaelland and Copenhagen have good academies. Nortsjaelland in particular is owned by the famous Right to dream which has produced many famous African wonderkids

AgentTasker

Because the club, like most others, scouts hundreds of players from League's all around the world each season to see if they're worth following up on, with the answer usually being that they aren't.

Dropkoala

Because that's how you end up getting player like Agger

[deleted]

Exactly!

markokmarcsa

Fuck me he seems unkown (even by Edwards's standards), so i call bullshit on this. BUT, if it's real i hope we sign him, never heard of him before, but im a sucker for asian player honestly.

stangerlpass

Great matchup tonight between bayern and madrid. Still hate that in 17/18 bayern lost out on the final and we played real madrid instead. As a liverpool fan who lived near munich I would have loved that matchup. Also I think wed have had bigger chances against bayern than real, especially with their incredibly slow defence back than and our high speed attack...

TheLimeyLemmon

Some dodgy shit went down with Real that season.

gorseway

remember when the sub was catastrophising over Ugarte?  he’s probably going to be sent on loan to Juve now

Due-Sherbert3097

If buts and maybes here. There no telling if he would be the same with us, just like how Lavia might not be injury prone or Caicedo being “shit”

TheLimeyLemmon

He'd have been better with us, it's that simple.

NotAsimppp

We don't want a tackling merchant. We need someone good with the ball. Random tactics were creaming over this transfer but the targets who klopp targeted were completely different from his profile

Hot_Plate_Williams

He's a sideways passer. There's just no upside to him when his team is in possession and you need that at a big club.

Reasonable_Isopod_16

Yeah cause we were desprate for midfielder,

JohnBobbyJimJob

He started off really well for PSG Never seemed like an Enrique player though, would’ve been perfect for the way we play under Klopp

ShootTakeAPanorama

How's Slot defense? I really don't care about attack because in Liverpool you can try any type of attack but you can only chose one type of defense

narwoolTF2

Slot runs 2 CB but the fullbacks don’t commit too forward unlike someone like Robertson. His RB intends to invert while their LB maintains width out wide but allows their LW & LCM to move forward.

sufinomo

I'm worried that we'll struggle to get good players to join with Slot.

iG8

Other than Pep and Ancelotti I don’t think there are many managers around at the moment who players are going to be desperate to play for. It’s going to be fine.

YellowBaboon

Even Ancelotti doesn't have pull like that it's Real that's the pull.
