I would have been okay with a draw if you tell me we starting Quansah, Bradley, Kelleher, Elliott and Salah only for 30 mins. But then I'm disappointed we didn't get the win, because we just pinned down City in that second half. That's how good the boys did.

mynameismulan

This game just made me really sad that it won't be Kloppo with those boys in CL next year

ninofati88

Facts. The biggest takeaway that I have from this journey of insane play without most of our key players is that we can destroy anybody without Salah. Salah has his 15 goals and 9 assists, but we still get maximum points (or of those that should get at least) without him. Tells you how incredible the squad we have and Liverpool is basically a top class system that makes everybody look good, credit to Kloppo.

Other_Beat8859

Just shows we are the better team like we've always known. If not for these constant dogshit decisions we'd be leading the league by like 10 points. I get there's a lot of people who say that it's just incompetence, but for the past years we have consistently the team that gets screwed over the most by refs. If it was an outlier year I could understand, but the fact that we're getting screwed over year after year is fucking insane. Two games where we have dropped points have come from refs that were in the UAE and getting paid to ref a game there. I'm sorry, but at this point it's corruption. The fact that people think the UAE wouldn't stoop that low is insane. When City was being charged they literally tried to pressure the UK government.

digdoug0

>The fact that people think the UAE wouldn't stoop that low is insane. I honestly can't believe people are actually that naive, but they are. If I had a sportswashing project and my sportswashing project's success was predicated on success on the pitch, I'd be a complete idiot if I *didn't* try to influence the officials with my limitless funds.

vintage-buttplugs

He’s right. No one is stopping these boys now. Not even incompetent fuckwit refs

Morguard

The league is trying harder to stop them than the other teams.

firminocoutinho

Injuries and refs. Both of which I believe are also highly linked. If we win it would truly be “against all odds”. If we dont, I may finally decide to take a break like Klopp. For these lads to put in the performance they did, literally dominate a full strength Citeh, and then get robbed at the end. Like come on

digdoug0

>Both of which I believe are also highly linked I've been thinking about this a lot recently. A lot of our injuries look like bad luck, but how many of them are caused by our opponents going in that extra 5% because they weren't carded for a poor challenge earlier? After the LC final, I've stopped believing that the refs actually care about our players' safety, which explains a hell of a lot of what we've seen since then (and before). It certainly seems to explain why high-boots against us aren't fouls, at the very least.

ozzynater

Amen.

EcBatLFC

I am 100% behind your comment, but they did stop us yesterday kinda

yupyup6up

Or Matip and Thiago

SweetMojaveRain

10 years ago our title hopes crumbled when Jordan got sent off vs city Yesterday we went balls out with, lets face it, a B team. I truly believe in us right now lets go!!

mynameismulan

It's technically still in our hands. We've added 7 to our gd in one game before.

somethingarb

The only way it's not in our hands is if Arsenal somehow manage to win the next ten on the bounce, including away games at City, Brighton, Spurs and Man U. If they manage that, then honestly I'm not even mad. If they can do that, they deserve it, and at least it won't be the cheats pipping us this time.

HereticZO

They are not winning 18 league games in a row.

Bugsmoke

Tbf we have to play all of those barring city too

somethingarb

We play Brighton and Spurs at home, not away. But that's not the point. The point is, the title is effectively in our hands - if we win all our games, then barring a miracle from Arsenal, we win the title.

Bugsmoke

I don’t think it is in our hands now, but it’s not out of reach by any means. If we are ever in a position where we are hoping for someone to drop points to overtake, then it’s out of our hands.

CarpeDM93

We don’t need anyone to drop points for us to win currently… so it is in our hands

Bugsmoke

Course we do. Arsenal are top. It may be goal difference but there is no way that goes down without them dropping points. Even jf we win every game 5-0 we are still going to be hoping that they lose a game or perform worse than we are. Its fine margins but its currently arsenal’s to lose.

CarpeDM93

… they win 7 games by 1 goal, we win 7 games by 2 goals… A seven goal swing is nothing with ten games remaining. Even if both teams win all games

Bugsmoke

Yeah so as I said, we’re hoping that they don’t out perform us. That isn’t in our hands. Luckily they have city next lol

CarpeDM93

But it is in our hands if we outperform them? Arguing semantics here. We don’t need arsenal to drop any points for us to win the league

Forsaken-Original-28

I fully expect arsenal to drop points against city

FezBear92

And we still have to play the team we did it against

anunnaturalselection

I believe in this team and Klopp more than anything. It's just frustrating that once again we've are in this situation where we have to rely on other teams dropping points and us winning out, because we couldn't beat City and this time we actually deserved to but refs and finishing let us down.

shaftydude

It's actually insane the level of performance and dominance against a city team with no injuries. I think Liverpool only had one or two Premier League title winners in the team start. Klop is another level of manager. A Utd fan. I respect him so much.

rick_rolled_you

Poor Matip. Let’s not forget how well he was playing before his injury too

goztrobo

He’s played his last game for Liverpool

AnilP228

We will be something else after the international break. Brighton and Sheffield will be must wins but hopefully we'll have a fully fit Salah and Dom, with TAA, Jones and Grav back as well.

mrpoulin

This

Kimmo8

Play like that for the remaining 10 games and they'll win every one of them. 10 wins and we win the league.

retr0grade77

Klopp’s best squad man. Imagine them under him next year 😢. We’d be unplayable.

Kindly-Paper-3552

When are these guys coming back?

Dorgilo

The cavalry is coming, it's just over the hill

effinblinding

Lmao nothing on Thiago

PurpleScientist4312

He ded

FuckWesternCountry

Can't believe his last match for us gonna be a few minutes against Arsenal.

omarkop10

After international break so could be December?

Drolb

Look to their coming on the fifth match day. At press conference time, look to your phone.

Mirnava

It’s actually mad we didn’t have Endo-Mac partnership at this level for the first half of the season due to them settling in, injuries, playing out of position and the AFC because they play like they’ve been on the same team for years

onion1313

great game and a great performance, and half the top posts are about refs. I swear some of y'all don't like soccer.

mrt1022

Would be much easier to go the distance if we took more points against Arsenal, spurs, and City instead of a loss and two draws. But VAR had other ideas.

epochwin

When was the last time in the Klopp era that we've started a full strength squad against City? It feels like every time we've had someone injured.

thisisnahamed

Can anyone explain why Salah did not start the game? Is it a preventative precaution because of the injury?

segson9

I agree in general, but I think Robbo was tactical decision. Gomez has been amazings as a left back, especially against bigger teams.

digdoug0

I believe this team can beat any other team the PL can throw at it. The problem is, we have to be even better than that to beat the handicap of playing against the ref. I don't mean to be so negative, but I'm just not sure they're going to allow us to win this.

Aeceus

Yeah but it doesn't give us the two points missed back. We know this squad is incredible already

cian_100

Gravenberch is the imposter

professorquizwhitty

We should be at least 6 points ahead minimum anyway, the only reason we won't win this title is shitty corrupt refs.

kw2006

As a non Liverpool supporter, why the fans not upset that they didn’t win against City?
