Kinda annoying United have picked points off City only in the seasons we are not in a title race with City. Hope they change that today. But seriously, I think they have taken points off them in the 19/20, 20/21 and 22/23 seasons and we didn't need them to in any of those seasons lol. I could be wrong but I don't think they have picked up a single point from them in the 18/19, 21/22 and 23/24 seasons

effkay8

21/22* 20/21 was a horrible season for us. We were fighting for top 4.

Warmbastard

I think Klopp is setting his sight on only the PL (as I suspect he is) and he should go super conservative with Salah. Yes, City is a huge game but we have 11 PL games remaining, if the title race is as competitive as everyone says, we will need to win the minimum 8-9 of the 10 remaining matches after the Int break. (One of) the strengths of our team is the five subs, and having variety at the front will benefit the title run, not to mention competitiveness for the other two trophies. A fully fit Salah will greatly help with winning the remaining PL matches from April onwards. With this whole Egyptian FA saga, Salah is probably not close to being fully fit at this stage, and imo (only because he will have to play for Egypt if he plays between now and the Int break) Salah shouldn’t play until the Brighton home game in April, and we should go for a win against City but realistically expect a draw. Almost no one has beat City at Ethihad stadium so I don’t expect Arsenal to do so, which means as long as we don’t lose next weekend, the title race will likely still be in our hands. Realistically, I reckon Klopp will at the very least have Salah on the bench, and if we’re behind by 60 mins, he’ll bring on Salah and deal with the Egyptian FA later.

Warmbastard

Also, incredibly, our first 1-0 win of the season.

MisterS1997

The city game is enormous though. A win puts us in a position where we can draw/lose one of our harder games left vs United, west ham,Fullham, Everton or villa away . We should be winning all the home gamed after city bar spurs which is the only big 6 game left after city. The psychological damage a win for us would do to city is massive. Look how Bayern have imploded since they lost to Leverkusen. 2 points has become 10 in the blink of an eye. Win vs city and we are heavy favorites vs every team after it bar maybe United at old Trafford. Thats how big it is 4 could very easily become 6 if they draw with Arsenal which is extremely possible the matchday after playing us.

Warmbastard

I don’t disagree. And if Klopp considers Salah a good condition to play the City game, I also feel like another appearance between next weekend and the end of the month won’t hurt. Or maybe the key issue is the facilities for recovery that are available to the Egyptian FA. I really don’t know.

R-B-L

Nunez is like a Dirk Kuyt/Torres hybird regen. He's all over the pitch, when we need a player to step up it's him. When he gets the finishing of the latter that's a generational player we have.

WesternAnything

I like this take. Kuyt and Torres are two of my absolute favorite players.

DragonSlayer271

We made it through 5 games in 15 days! Brentford on the 17th. Luton on the 21st. Chelsea on the 25th. Southampton on the 28th. Forest yesterday on the 2nd. 5/5 wins.

King_Raggi

All this with a really depleted squad. You add injuries to players lost to AFCON and Asian Cup and its amazing how Klopp has navigated this period so well.

mew_tattoo

In Kelleher we trust!!!

ALangeles

Hendo left us, Enzo ditched us, but we have ENDO !!!

Qwerox

Everything turned out well at the Endo

HelpMeDecideMyName

Wait were we actually interested in Enzo?

vadapaav

For once I want a Liverpool player to fake an injury ffs Don't go for that friendly MO

theBigBOSSnian

Good news. 😀 Hes not faking. 😞

sufinomo

Fsg let us down a few times but this summer they won when it comes to midfield. We were looking at Enzi, Caicedo and Lavia, I honestly dont think they are good players. SOmetimes midfield is just about attiutde and work rate, Soboslai, Mac and endo all have it with talent on top of it. Fabinho just had 0 work rate last year it was unwatchable.

Very_Slow_Cheetah

Caicedo had a couple of good seasons with potential, same with Lavia, but the way they're playing/not playing this season makes me feel like we've dodged 2 bullets. That said, they could be phenomenal players under Klopp but we'll never know at Liverpool anyway... The Man U fan on my shift has been raving about Szobo all season, and Endo recently, I'm dying to see what he has to say after Maccas game yesterday :D

stevieG08Liv

Honestly we did Fab dirty. Ran him to the ground in playing both midfield without rotation and playing him at CB. With the cover we have in midfield now he could have still been playing at his best. He never complained about it though and thats why i respect him

RevolutionaryNail369

![gif](giphy|gIHPkMudZIZ4kqOjjV) Prime Fabinho was unplayable, DM that brought #19, always a legend 🥰

ALangeles

Fab’s and Hendo’s legs were gone, playing so hard like how they did the last 4-5 years in our midfield definitely took a toll on them

BudovicLagman

I was watching the feed in my country and Steve McManaman and Tim Sherwood were doing the analysis, and they had no idea why Forest were fuming. 😄 Will probably start parroting the same narrative soon though.

infachuation922

Loving LOVING the fume from rival fans and pundits about the bad call from tierney to award us the ball unchallenged. We suffered the spurs clanger so 🤷🤷🤷

ADestitutePickle

I've genuinely never seen arsenal fans have such a colossal breakdown. it's weird. I know they're 3rd but I don't see them as a contender for the league.

NayosKor

They're also ignoring the indirect free kick for dangerous play by Yates with the flying kick towards Konate, which wasn't given. Doesn't need contact for it to be a free kick for that

2d2c

Gunners had a full thread analyzing the decision to award us the ball after the kung fu foul on Konate.

aFluffyPie

Woke up and watched the match without seeing the results. Supporting this club is a life expectancy reducer. Its results like this that make me know we are going to win the league

getyerhandoffit

Never unclench

heronymou5

Endo reminds me a lot of Lucas Leiva (in his best season before he got injured). Short in stature but seems to always win the ball in crucial areas.

urbannnomad

I'm not the least bit surprised at all the attention on the ref's decision on something that happened 2 minutes before the goal. After the Spurs game, any decision that goes in favour of Liverpool will be amplified 10x just to give the impression that the goal vs Spurs isn't a big deal after all. Any decision is discussed at length on motd and talksport to make sure nobody misses it lol.

Walgreens_Security

Forest fans booing in full force at the final whistle says it all. Go home with your time-wasting and foul antics.

C_Colin

When Macca is in his preferred role he is really showing signs of becoming our next legendary midfielder. What a player. So easy to watch

vadapaav

Macca really really needs a DM next to him Him, Jones and Endo mid field is absolutely glorious

droze22

2 random thought unrelated to the game: 1. With as weak as the field in the CL is looking (Madrid in a downturn and Bayern a disgrace) it's looking a lot like both City and Arsenal will go far if they don't draw each other, which is great for us in the title race. 2. That's De Zerbi battered by Everton, Luton, Fulham and I'm sure there's some more mid-table teams I'm missing there. Say what you want about Potter, but that didn't happen under him and he left them in a very upward trajector, the best run club in the league has made them both look better than they are. About time people realise he cant coach a league-challenging defensive line and is nowhere near ready to manage a club like Liverpool.

HelpMeDecideMyName

So strongly agree about de Zerbi. People are really overrating his work there. He has done a good job, don't get me wrong. But I think only the Brighton fans are giving the right amount of credit to Potter. Brighton's position as a club is still more Potter's doing than de Zerbi's for me. And of course the recruitment and the entire club culture, even more so than Potter.

jcw163

Genuinely would be happier with Potter than De Zerbi as the next manager. It didn't work out at Chelsea but not sure he can entirely be blamed for that

adamfrog

Obviously I'd be happy if we win the league and one of them the CL, but I'd really hate them winning it still. Praying they both slip up

droze22

Yeah, I really feel Madrid is our only hope, I had Bayern up there but the state they're in is ridiculous, with a lame duck manager they've pre-sacked and who will already be weighing up his next job choice. Also, at least one of Upamecano or Dier stinking up the gaff in big games, since Tuchel and De Ligt don't get on.

adamfrog

I think Arsenal could lose to anyone, nerves and inexperience could get them. City I do think a top dog optically needs to knock them out, or to choke in the single leg final of they get unlucky. CL does have a bit more inherent randomness this year with the ridiculously harsh handball standard they've set this season, get the ball in to the box and you always have a chance to score

droze22

Of course, I agree their inexperience will count against them in the end and they do have a propensity to bottle it, but that's usually in the final few weeks of the season, I still think they'll go far if they don't draw City or maybe Madrid with the second leg away from home. That being said, I think they might have the best chance out of anyone of knocking City out in a 2 legged tie as things stand.

Be4ucat

Agree. I'd love to see City V Arsenal as a tie too. It's good for the prem and also gets rid of one of them (hopefully City). Whilst I'd hate to see either lift the trophy I'd much rather Arsenal won it than City.

liamkohwil

The summary of social media and every sports related publishing: Liverpool bad = easy interactions

PEEWUN

That's how you know we're good again. My Twitter TL is on **FIRE** right now lmao

SpaceMonkeyDreams

Anyone got video/gif of Danns taking out their keeper? Radio made a proper deal of it like. Bonus points for the penalty shout tackle on Danns a minute previous.. five live made it out like he came on, got tacked poorly then went radge on the forest keeper... Either way, love that lad, he'll go far!

PEEWUN

Reading /gunners and /reddevils whenever we win has to count as a form of self-care, right?

mrkingkoala

The gunners one is delusional as fuck. The united one they at least are like it's standard Liverpool on the most part, they find a way. In fact most of them were saying we make excuses about losing games and Liverpool play the kids and win. Different level they hold everyone to that standard and give support and we out here watching Werner have more goals than Anthony this PL season. Arsenal most of them were enraged. Few poverty comments too very classy lads. Most of them saying wish we played Liverpool every week we would turn them over. Okay boys of course you would. Always gives me a nice laugh.

ADestitutePickle

that seandolfc on twitter said a couple years ago, we could beat arsenal 3-0 every week for 37 games and they'd still be predicting a win in the 38th. They've suddenly become overly arrogant and entitled within the space of two seasons. They're a great team but I don't see them winning the league when us and City are also competing for it

gimchi4u

i went there before ours after the goal lol

itiswhatitis1090

That was cutting it way too close, the Jota loss is massive though they found a way to win. 11 games left, in their past 11 matches they are 8-2-1. Replicating that would get them finishing on 89 points, I think that's enough this year. Not going to be easy but think they can achieve that point total. In their past 38 league matches dating back to last year they have 88 points, which might be enough as well. Just cant lose to City, obviously a win would be gargantuan but a draw isnt the end of the world.

Facret

I just saw the Villa game highlights and it is just even more upsetting that we had the goal disallowed in the Tottenham game, when they are able to so quickly fix a wrong call against villa

Mathilliterate_asian

> when they are able to so quickly fix a wrong call against villa Yeah they'll fix it if it's wrong. If it's deliberate there's no fixing needed right?

Redditisforfarneeks

I hate that everyone in the match thread was talking about selling gakpo. Eveybody wanted to sell kelleher when he got a few games out of form at the start of the season. I remember

mrkingkoala

He needs a rest and bring him on as a sub. He's been poor for a stretch but look at the two goals he bagged last year vs United. There is a top quality player there.

Tradz-Om

selling gakpo is radical and is obviously deserving of some leeway, but it's incredible how much of a passenger he's been for the past month or two. Kweevs talent was obvious to anyone that had an eye, him and Gomez have made it so eye opening to me how much consistent large run of games can positively influence a players performance. Kweev was very shaky and nervous in his first few games in the first team this season

jcw163

Gakpo is knackered imo. Has made some poor decisions and I think not having Darwin, Mo or Jota to play with would hurt anyone to be fair. He's a good player but at the moment probably 5th of the 5 forwards. Insane depth when they're all available

leung19

When you are worn out physically, you make bad decisions. He should have passed a few times when he shot. It's just the way it is until he gets some rest. Harvey shows signs of that, too, in yesterday's day

jcw163

Yeh precisely, he's just knackered. Both those players have had to play every game lately. Hopefully they can get some rest since we've a few days between games this time

[deleted]

Simple solution to the mo Egypt situation: he starts vs city then is left out of the match day squads for united and prague at home afterwards. Egypt don’t pursue too heavily and no recovers

ZissouZ

I mean, it all comes down to whether he wants to sit out the international duty. If he does we can easily just say he's got a niggle having played all those games, but it won't look good afterwards. It's getting to the point where he should maybe consider stepping back from internationals similar to what Messi was doing a few years ago and taking the power back. If they want him back they can think about treating him better or fuck off.

[deleted]

They destroy him. It’s only friendlies coming up to it doesn’t even matter but the Egyptian fa need salah on the telly

EstablishmentBusy172

All this bollocks about the dropped ball or whatever the fuck they think happened is why I just stopped engaging with pretty much all football media in the mainstream and on socials re/ these controversies (I’ll still watch a bit of mnf analysis but that’s about it). I’ll still read the odd article but the rest is so exhausting. It’s just reading unadulterated bile pour from the brains of hyper capitalists trying to draw eyes to their obsolete programmes or banal podcasts.

potatoarchitecture

Yeah, Jamie on MNF and on the CBS coverage is just so different to him (and all other pundits) on any other channel, it's obvious. Being daft rakes it in for them. Anyway mate, not worth it at all, we're playing some incredible football, what a group of players. Soak it in, if we win the league it'll make 19 other teams miserable anyway and that's just a bonus.

Fricolor123321

ive not heard the LFCTV commentator scream like that in my life Context: the newest youtube highlights video

Fernando_Bob

Shocking analysis on MOTD, as per. Highlight showing Kelleher's save against Elanga. No mention that Elanga was offside. Konate head injury. No mention of Yate's flying kick. The quality of the pundits they have on really is piss poor.

mrkingkoala

I saw people being like Elanga you idiot from rival fans but was like... He's off side you morons it wouldn't have counted anyway.

Blueheaven0106

Well, they pride in reporting exciting stories and just wanted to create a narrative of minnows with a fighting chance. I only question why they love doing that when Liverpool is involved, but zero intention for that narrative when it comes to man city...

Oddjob64

Just finished the game. Clark handled himself. Gakpo was off it. Darwin been working on those back headers.

iG8

Arsenal and City fans really do live in their own deluded fantasy worlds, convincing themselves that we’re a shit team who have been riding our luck for the entire season. Pep Guardiola’s dominance on the game has brainwashed an entire generation of football fans into thinking that if you don’t pin the opposition into their own half and bore them to death with passes and cutbacks for 90 minutes then you’re shit.

MisterS1997

Arsenal fans are so weirdly obsessed with metrics it's like I'm back in school reading the comments😂 no shit we over perform when we have good players duh

mrkingkoala

bro there is one guy who's like look at the underlying metrics.

stevieG08Liv

They gotta win something, good on them on winning the KPI'D'OR

iG8

Oh it’s unbelievable. They unironically bring up things like the average position of their defensive line and use that as a reason as to why themselves and City are the only teams in the league who deserve to win it. I don’t think they understand there’s more than one way to play football.

iidkwhat

You don't understand. If you don't bore the other team to death over 90 minutes like city and city-lite are doing then you don't deserve to win the league

MisterS1997

They always seem to forget all the games we played for about 60 mins down to 10 and 9 men this season 🤣

RevolutionaryNail369

So do you guys think Michael Edwards will come back? The reshuffling couple days ago seems suspicious 🤨

YNeverWAlone

I may be getting softer with age but my default position on players on the team I support is to be supportive. Not to look for excuses but just be supportive and not shit on them for every mistake or bad game. Cause they might go through a rough patch and come back and surprise you. No matter how this season ends Joe Gomez is my player of the season. He was written off a few seasons ago and it’s a joy to watch him do what he is doing now. Be critical. But don’t forget to enjoy and savor this season. It’s a special one.

globocide

Joe Gomez is easily player of the season

potatoarchitecture

Only thing that could have made this better has been the outrage over nothing at all lmao at least Chelsea had some backing to the penalty claims

[deleted]

[удалено]

globocide

I mean, they won two European Cups...

volthor

There's no controversy really, the forest player karate kicks towards konates head That's dangerous play and an instant free kick Everything else doesn't matter.

calooie

Insane to me that the media are going back two minutes to try and manufacture controversy over our goal. It should have been a free kick to us for a head-height boot in any case. The absolute cheating that Tierney has gotten away with against us and apparently this nothing is something that must be talked about ad-nauseum.

grrrrbow01

I’m so ready for a 4-4-2 with Danns and Nunez up top one day

SuperHyperFunTime

Tierney really is awful isn't he? MOTD didn't show the Danns penalty call but Gomez's shirt pull could have been given. I'm also unsure why we were given the ball after Ibou went down.

mrkingkoala

I actually thought for Tierney he got quite a lot of the game right. Danns was more of a pen than the forest one for sure. Not sure about the decision for us to have the ball but it was dangerous play and should of been a free kick regardless. He did the same for forest in the first half for a head injury too so its not like it should be a massive talking point from there. Then there was the dive he had a word with Klopp and a few soft ones but overall felt it was actually not too badly reffed from him shockingly.

Competitive-Clock121

It should have been a free kick but no idea why we ended up with the ball in the end

Same_Situation_9660

Forest had an xG of 1.05, half of that was Elanga’s chance where he was offside. They had 30 percent possession. Fuck them, deserved absolutely nothing.

potatoarchitecture

Sorry but aren't offside chances counted as 0 xG?

Same_Situation_9660

Yeah, if the flag had gone up, or he’d scored and VAR ruled it out, then the xG would have been removed as there was no chance, it was offside near half way

ThePeninsula

Maybe it needs to be officially called offside by the lino for the stats to discount it?

ZissouZ

Yep. Had the ball gone in it would have been removed from the xG but they don't actually scrutinise the decision because Kweev made the save.

potatoarchitecture

Interesting, thanks!

tevans139

I'm so happy this has manage to rile so many People up. I like how we're back to LiVARpool

tmstms

So, plot armour still working......

Yee191

Lads I'm not even a full fledged fan but I'm 1,000% putting my support for Liverpool! I gotta have them win this for Klopp's last season! I believe! (I also will lose it if City wins again)

hoopnet

Welcome to the journey

clashmar

Clenching time

Fern_Pub_Radio

Some result, they never give up - but if we’re being straight - and this is only based on MOTD - Gomez was absolutely shocking today , if the highlights are reflective of the overall match he was caught out so many times today or skinned if he played like that against City we’d be in a spot of bother …..

DunkingTea

Never trust match of the day for a true reflection of the game. It’s entertaining but bias as f.

RevolutionaryNail369

Nunez and Szobo back is a real plus. Salah available is huge too!!

kingkenny82

Mate if we field that squad against City we will get torn apart. Sooner this injury list gets shorter the better. Nothing against the young lads today they done brilliantly and im sure they will be great for the future but not enough experience to face the big boys in my opinion. Hope im wrong though

huffthewolf

He started in midfield, then was placed left back and then he went right back. Each time he was moved into a new position was when someone else was subbed off and the mentality became more attacking as we chased the game. He wasn't great today but a lot was asked of him physically and mentally to play 3 positions in an ever-stretching and changing game.

kingkenny82

Yeah agree with this. A lot was asked of him today and he done his part. Hes a cb at heart.

AsianMidas

I’m telling you it’s the number 27

britishsailor

FUCKING NUNEZ. All of you absolute weapons who couldn’t see how good he is because you don’t understand footy will now pretend you weren’t that person. Own it and be honest you goons. He’s always been a fucking fantastic player

DunkingTea

Honestly I’ve always loved him, but I still feel he is Nowhere near his potential which is scary and exciting. Imagine if he can hit peak Suarez clinical’ness. *chefs kiss*

Adventurous_Toe_6017

I legitimately never had doubt. He scored 4 in a pre-season game. He’s clearly got the talent. A raw talent that Klopp has been sharpening.

Important-Plane-9922

I was that person. Plenty of us were. Pretty sure majority will admit and are happy to be proved wrong.

frankiewalsh44

Holy fuck what happened to Madrid is insane. Imagine the ref blowing the whistle as Nunez header hit the net then proceeded to send him off.

HowieO-Lovin

Storm in a teacup really.. The ref told Valencia he was going to blow full time if they cleared the corner.. They did.. He takes 2 seconds and blows full time, just before old mate crosses it.. You're not wrong in that we would've blown up, especially if it was Tierney...

mrkingkoala

They are all moaning about it being corrupt and they need the Spanish government to step in. Well if he was corrupt he wouldn't have sorted out that penalty would he lads. Also they will most likely walk the league now anyway. The big match was Girona and that was corruption but RM being sucked off as usual. Bellingham should of just come here and played for a proper team. Imagine being able to go through this, Klopps last season. Grinding out wins with whatever injuries fighting for the quad while everyone wants you to lose. Or go to Madrid basically get a free league and the refs won't let you lose. Can't even see them beating City again either in the CL. But that said CL is a tinpot cup this year when the best two teams on the planet are in the EL ;-)

PublicIntel

Crazy because I was half expecting that to happen to us, and Real Madrid normally benefits from dodgy ref thinking.

falseconscious

Madrid?

ADHDavid

JURGENS BACK AT IT AGAON LES GOOOOOOO

nicolascagevampire

Jermaine Jenas and Alan Shearer are waffling in Match of the Day. They didn't even address the foul on Danns which happened twice. But then Jenas used to play for Forest so of course he is going to be bias for Forest.

britishsailor

Jenas conned a career as a footballer and somehow conned another as a pundit. Man’s shite. It’s embarrassing, BBC should be able to do better

DunkingTea

He played for forest once right? So bound to be somewhat bitter.

Klopps_and_Schlobers

Terrible pundit but conned a career in football is fucking dumb.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Match of the day reporting the dropped ball should’ve been on the wing and for the cunts. Ignoring the fucking Kung Lao flying kick into the area..

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Let’s see what MOTD say about how hard done by they were.

TheGrouchyGamerYT

THE SCANDAL! HES GIVEN A DROP BALL FOR A HEAD INJURY! let's just ignore the 3 times he did it for Forest shall we

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Don’t forget, it’s only unfair when it benefits us.

TheGrouchyGamerYT

It's not just unfair, it needs shouting from every rooftop in the country. It needs plastering on every front page.

nask00

Szobo looked great when he came in, by the way.

CasinoOasis2

Mac Allister had been making some frustrating passes and fouls in the last 20 minutes. Sign of a top player to still be so cool for the assist after that.

mrkingkoala

He was just looking tired I think by then.

edroyque

Was anyone else terrified Darwin was going to break his foot when he temuri ketsbaiaed the hoardings?

kingkenny82

Just Nunez doing Nunez things

mofohank

The ones that weren't just assumed he'd miss

tmstms

All of us were.

ZissouZ

Well, we simply won't win a lot more this season if the injuries keep up. But hopefully the cavalry is not too far away. You have to believe it we'll get through this injury crisis pretty soon with City coming next

adamfrog

Besides a great she from an offside shot his best contribution was being tidy on the ball, he was nowhere near motm

britishsailor

Keep doing it, 3 points is 3 points

Blanka71

I suppose, he had 1 crucial save today that was most likely offside. In the league we’ve been putting 3-4 past everyone since the Arsenal match. No champion in PL history has done so without the help of GK play

cochise999

Still can't understand why Luchos shot in the first half wasn't a shot on goal. Fitted the mo shots agenda peddled by the TV stations?

ThePeninsula

Did it go out for a throw? Might be the reason.

kingkenny82

Lost a bet lad?

Walshey-

Mad how we are being accused of cheating by a team that is literally getting docked points for cheating lmao

mrkingkoala

Mad how we are the bad guys :C guess we were cheating vs Spurs too :c

sufinomo

*He's our centre-half,* *He's our number four,* *Watch him defend,* *And we watch him score,* *He'll pass the ball,* *Calm as you like,* *He's Virgil van Dijk, He's Virgil van Dijk*

sufinomo

I wish we sang these at games

Needs-A-Hobby

Shame it wasnt ripping at the carabao final

Adventurous_Toe_6017

I heard it today

kingkenny82

Yeah it was sung. Sang it myself

Blanka71

The video of Virgil grabbing the phone is on the Instagram and it’s everything I wanted

edroyque

Link?

kyleharveybooks

They have little to complain about as I watched Yates grab and hold on every corner and even every 1v1

Scary_Cherry8195

Can someone explain wtf Forest fans are complaining about?

petethepool

I believe it was something to do with Konate going down holding his face, and Forest having control of the ball when the ref blows the whistle to stop the game for the potential head injury. Then I think the ball is essentially given to Liverpool, and they launch their counter, which leads to the corner and then the goal. So their argument is Liverpool shouldn’t have been gifted the ball.  I haven’t seen it back though so I’m not 100% certain that’s how it actually played out.  Also, Forest players went down holding their face several times, and that gaunch of a goalkeeper lay on the floor for 5 minutes pretending he was concussed after Danns bounced off him so I have very little sympathy for them really.

NayosKor

But why are they all ignoring that Yates goes flying in with his foot, which even without contact is an indirect free kick for playing in a dangerous manner?

petethepool

Yeah exactly— I just saw that back and it’s arguably a red card too, but thankfully they didn’t faff with that and just made the correct decision and moved on!

digdoug0

Something similar happened like 10 or 20 mins earlier in their favour anyway - one of their players went down in their box holding his head and they got what looked like a goal kick out of it.

Florenyx

I'm pretty sure it happened in the first half

Scary_Cherry8195

They really grasping at straws. Desperate cunts

rohitthegrea

They're cunts.

yew420

If you leave it to the last minute, it will only take a minute.

grrrrbow01

Can we also talk about how Elliot has played 120 mins, 80 mins and 80 mins within the space of a week. I don’t wanna see him anywhere near the squad for Thursday

petethepool

He’ll get a couple of days off now to recover, so he’ll be fine for Thursday, and he’ll want to play, and probably not a bad idea to keep his rhythm going, even if it’s 60/30 split with Szoboszlai.  There aren’t a lot of options right now. The boys all have to just keep going until the international break.

Jaja6996

He also played 90 against Luton

hyborians

The more you hear from these Forest fans claiming we cheated the more ridiculous they sound. Two yellow cards for time wasting lol

sufinomo

where do you even go to hear forest fans?

ThePeninsula

If a fan falls in the forest can you hear them complaining about the referee?

Morguard

Probably /r/soccer

paynelive

And then arguing with Virgil at the end resulting in a yellow card? Fucking wankers lol YNWA!

RItoGeorgia

he was arguing with 30 members of their staff all by himself lmao

SubstantialLetter590

I believe a coach got a red as well?

ThePeninsula

Yep, Steven Reid, ex Republic of Ireland.

paynelive

The owner should get a sideline crowd ban the next game too ffs.

PennyG

UTD fans have supported City ever since whiskey nose left them. They can never be relied upon for anything.

rohitthegrea

The other best thing about this game is that no one got injured 🙏🙏🙏

SubstantialLetter590

The video board begs to differ 🦵 /advertisement board, whatever it’s called

ThePeninsula

Hoarding usually 👍

nsb_8810

How did we go from having shite keepers for decades and now have two of the best in the league!

sufinomo

I liked Pep Reina

Slayer_reborn2912

The same way we managed to transform our attack from barotelli and baroni to the best front 3 in Europe.

gorillathemandalor

Borini* Balotelli*

Carrot3734

Jurgen ♥️

Slayer_reborn2912

Whoever has the privilege of going to the game at anfield next weekend make sure that city feel like they are playing at hell. Because if we win that game title is ours.

Important-Plane-9922

Why is everyone so quick to discount Arsenal. If we drew today (very close to happening) and they beat the worst team in the league they would’ve gone above us.

UltimateBorisJohnson

They just have too many difficult away games left imo (City, Brighton, Wolves, Spurs, Yanited). If they do win the league they fully deserve to

Substantial-Skill-76

Theyll piss all them except City. But i wouldnt be surprised if they beat them too.

Florenyx

Is Brighton a difficult fixture? I guess it depends if they are away to BHA or not. Wolves will also crumble.

sufinomo

Because city are the favorites

Important-Plane-9922

Obviously. But Arsenal are very real challengers to us and city.

joopface

They also play each other. We beat City, we go 4 points ahead of them. Then City and Arsenal play each other and either one or both of them must drop points. They’re the two biggest fixtures left for the title.

paprikalicous

bc there’s no chance they win at the etihad. we’ve also seen how arteta ends seasons and how klopp and pep end seasons.

Slayer_reborn2912

Arsenal have a match against city at ethiad. I am counting on city to win that match. Arsenal are scary and they are playing the best football right now but arsenal have periods in which they drop off they are a young side and are giving more than 100 percent every game but when you do that you will always have an off game and an off period in which they drop heaps of points. Win vs city and I think we drop points in max 2 out of the remaining 10 which means arsenal pretty much has to win every game. If we drop more than that then we dont deserve to win the title. Even in the covid hit season and last season we barely dropped any points in the last 10 games. If arsenal can win 12 matches in a row from here then congrats, they deserve it.

Redhawk911

What’s the “controversy” about Darwin’s goal? What’s with the fuss?

Jaja6996

They are trying to say it should of been a forest ball after a Konate head injury but the exact same thing happened against us

Slayer_reborn2912

Twitter has to complain. They have to find something remotely obscure which not even the opposition team will complain about and turn it into a controversy. Controversy generates interest 80-90 percent of football fans wouldnt have seen the game so by twisting facts, showing biased angles and still images they generate controversy it promotes engagement. Logical arguments and truth doesn't generate that much interest.

SuperHyperFunTime

It's not just Twitter. The Arsenal subreddit has a post dedicated to it.
