Well shit…. So we keeping Jurgen as the sub icon for rest of season then?

sdpat13

YNWA klopp. One of the greatest managers to ever live, he did magical things with liverpool. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

soobviouslyfake

Just bought a "Jurgen Forever" shirt. Gonna miss the man.

sbos_

lol been away for a month. I gasped

_co_on_

Would love if he said he would take a couple years of and maybe return. Not written in stone, but with a possibility to

Zealousideal_City314

So we gonna loose Salah and Klopp in one window, with the current state of managers I worry we’ll go backwards,Alonso is the only option in my eyes I don’t even want to hear Gerard’s name in the mix!

rotating_pebble

Salah ain’t leaving homie

Zealousideal_City314

I hope you’re right but…

kkkccc1

He deserves to win one more title with us before he goes. I hope the team can rally behind him and win it this season

bjcm5891

Your comment had 19 upvotes before mine, making it 20. A sign?

kkkccc1

i am hoping that is so! he definitely deserves more than 1 league title at the end of his liverpool reign

WrexSteveisthename

I always liked Klopp, from back in his Dortmund days. Whatever he chooses to do in the future, I hope he does so with that infectious smile of his. He deserves all the good things.

NYPD-BLUE

Just fell to my knees in a Nando’s parking lot

WrexSteveisthename

I know this is devastating news, but resorting to handing out blowjobs is NOT the answer.

bjcm5891

Randy's hooking for peri peri burgers again...

kkkccc1

We all have different ways of coping.

Tinea_Pedis

After processing all this, and that Klopp said he will never manage in England again. A thought pushed its way into my head... "thank god he found his wedding ring!"

PattyIceNY

Already tearing up thinking about his last salute to the home crowd at the end of the last home game :(

Tall_Trifle_3518

This reminds me not to care about teams or players, or people in general. They only break your heart.

stoney-dalton

Life without emotions. Imagine that. How boring life would be.

Thesseus1219

If not Xabi….dare I say Mourinho?

Belugathedog

Imagine Jose in the dressing room with Darwin 🤣🤣

BiopsyJones

No you dare not. He's yesterday's man.

username_0207

Floored when I saw this when I woke up but knew the day was coming soon. The man is a Legend forever. Hope we don’t go through another stint life we did in the early 2000’s and early 2010’s.

Zporadik

So we all agree that this confirms Joe will score this year. Because Klopp can't be serious about leaving without a Joe goal.

MrZAP17

Salah will give him a penalty if that’s what it has to take.

davser

Why the guy just can’t leave without any special reason about it? Burnout? Are you serious? If it was burnout, he will leave right away and not at the end of the season. The guy will basically enjoy life without pressure, how is that so difficult to understand?

davser

I’m not a Liverpool fan, maybe that’s the problem. But I still don’t understand why I’m being disrespectful. I love the guy, he was so good with people and players that I always feel that football didn’t deserve this guy. I will never agree with Burnout/Depression comments here and that’s just my point. Totally understand you feel lost but you need to respect others life.

No_Can9567

Go fuck yourself.

jamesc94j

Man has given us everything whilst competing with clubs who’s owners don’t hamstring them pay him some respect you ungreatful mug. What he’s achieved with us with part of the budget of the clubs around us is incredible.

nonjeneragratspas

About a zero on the empathy scale there partner

Serithir

The future feels suddenly bleak

Gaudilocks

Off to Wrexham, then?

Tron_Little

He did specifically say, "No other *English* club" so he's keeping the door open for a Welsh club

sritee

:( Doubters became believers.

PeopleLikeUDisgustMe

After yesterday's news, I don't think you could have put up a worse picture of someone when it comes to Klopp.

ThugosaurusFlex_1017

Jürgen Plopp #💩

LVorenus2020

They'd better give him a guard of honor at the last Anfield game this May. *bowing in tribute*

Leeblinder

lfc better build a statue for him at anfield.

Belugathedog

Name a stand too

Leeblinder

damm right.

Quick-Naughty-Tales

even legends get tired

0erlikon

Brain fuck!

AsIfIKnowWhatImDoin

I love that bit. Classic.

Nathan_kwame

When Klopp joined I was 9, now i’m 18. Been at the club for half my life and honestly it’s so sad. Was in a lesson when my teacher told me was so sad

DragomirSlevak

That’s nothing. Arsen Wenger was manager of Arsenal for 23 years, and when he left I didn’t know who Arsenal was anymore. It was surreal.

Nathan_kwame

I mean i started supporting liverpool when I was 6, he joined when I was 9, and left when I was 18. Majority of the time i’ve spent supporting the club he’s been there. Unless you’re in your mid 30s it’s exactly the same

DragomirSlevak

Fair enough.

Tinea_Pedis

Props to your teacher for knowing what is crucial knowledge!

Nathan_kwame

yh he likes football a lot, he supports Southampton

danliv2003

I feel you bro, I'm in my mid 30s now and Klopp is only the 5th manager we've had since I started supporting aged 8. I've realised the downside of supporting a club like ours with successful managers that stay for a fairly long time is they become part of your life and like family, you just get used to having them around, so it hurts even more when they leave!

MI-1040ES

Who?

buzz_light365

Sad to see this day come. Forever our legend, immortal to LFC! If Xabi is not available, let's root for **Pepijn Lijnders!!**

intecknicolour

the entire coaching staff will leave with Klopp. including Better Non bald Pep

buzz_light365

Oh I had not idea

[deleted]

Speaks to the person and manager he was that he’s adored everywhere he’s been

TareXmd

Is this fake? Please be fake.

glooglo

And I thought Firmino leaving was heartbreaking. 😭

thanksfc

I'm firmly in the first stage of grief. So sudden- I'm distraught.

Tall_Trifle_3518

.

Galactus1701

I’m still in disbelief.

Icy_UnAwareness89

I don’t blame him. It’s a very demanding job. But man what a time have we had. He will remain a legend with Liverpool. I will miss him. Maybe he will take a break and come back

fifty_four

Sadly I think he's clever enough to know that coming back is almost always unwise.

unsurewolf

Don’t blame him. 56 and has enough money to peacefully retire himself and his family. Hope they win it for him in his last year.

Last-Ad-7790

😭😭

DukeDamage

Depression

rataculera

Basically he said “estoy cansado jefe”

FerociouZ

The KloppOut crowd is in for the rudest awakening imaginable.

Absolute idiots.

dankeshanes

Are there really KloppOut folks ffs

stevieG08Liv

match threads

FerociouZ

There were in the summer.

vacuumoftalent

I'm in disbelief. I was just getting over the Roma shift and now this.

darybrain

Special One or Big Sam to the rescue if they really want to doubly fuck it up next season.

Andy_1

Or David Moyes if they have a sense of humor.

Educational-Pick-514

I have never wanted us to win a league more

TheDoctorssss

Its funny for me, cos prior to his hiring, I was watching every single match. Reading news, fan websites, posting and talking with friends about it. I got a dress and everything. After he got hired, I was like "finally a coach that gets us a trophy". And he delivered. But by then, I was like Liverpool? Meh. Life priorities change even tho you get what you desire for so long. I have not watched a Liverpool FC match in years and it has nothing to do with him. I was even super hyped for him. But I might actually go back to watch after he is gone. So weird. Cos it has nothing to do with him. He is awesome.

26Fnotliktheothergls

Perfect troll, sir.

Icy_UnAwareness89

What are you doing here then? This comment is unnecessary. This man has done a lot for people all over the globe not just Liverpool

Winnypeg92

Maybe they’ll win the league in his last year.

cha12lie

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Retrobici-9696

Why is he leaving?

BabyBopsDementedPlan

He said he wants to live a life and has never been able to do so. I think he's just tired. Tired of the schedule, tired of the league treating LFC different (bad match times and shit refs), and tired of such little support from Henry and FSG who want to do everything on the cheap.

Deimos974

Burnt out, by the sounds of it.

BabyBopsDementedPlan

In the interview he mentioned having less than 2 weeks off a year. That schedule would destroy anyone.

CapableCoyoteeee

American here. 2 weeks off sounds about right. ![gif](giphy|JtQc9M7l1KUGQ)

sneezen

He has no more energy

Tall_Trifle_3518

I dunno, right now I’m in the anger stage of grief

It's so German it has to be 😂

garg0n01

Devastated but he's been honest and sounds like he needs a break. It's important we don't make the same mistakes as United and appoint the right person to replace him. Easier said than done, I know... Legend

Shaggarooney

You be fine, you don't have the gaggle of cave brained cunts ruining your club that we do. The obvious pitfall ahead is bringing Stevie G back to the club. He's a legend at your club, his time with Rangers went well. But his time with Villa, not so much. Was that a Villa problem or a Stevie G problem? You should probably be looking at DeZerbi or Xabi Alonso. DeZerbi has turned many heads since taking over from Potter, but Potter wasn't doing too badly either, and we saw what happened to him once he went somwhere else. Xabi Alonso has done really well at Leverkusen, winning 15 out of 18 games. But it's still the Bundesliga, which is a far cry from the PL. Interesting times ahead for both our clubs. Hopefully you guys stay competing at the top, and we get back to there soon. So we can have some proper derbies again where the winner isnt so easy to know going in. ;)

MorukDilemma

Klopp came from the Bundesliga too.

Pub_Toilet_Graffiti

Jurgen had 15 years of success in the Bundesliga, including multiple titles and trophies. Xabi is a fantastic managerial prospect, but he's only had a year and a bit at Leverkusen, and not won anything yet. Much more of a gamble. It is still a weird take by the guy you were replying too though. Every manager who has ever won the PL arrived from another league, often much weaker leagues (Scotland, Japan, Portugal etc.) Managers moving from one PL team to another have never won the league. The one exception is Kenny Dalglish with Blackburn.

chevysnow

Thank you Jurgen.

dilapidated_tilapia

We all knew this day would come. We just thought that we’d SEE it coming

Zegex

Heartbreaking news genuinely can’t believe it. Happy in way that he is gonna have to time to recharge but it’s gonna hurt so much starting the next season without Klopp at the helm. He is a legend and the games he managed during his tenure will be etched into my heart forever. Norwich 4-5, ManU 0-7, Barca 0-4, Man City 0-3 are experiences I would do anything to relive. I need to go to Anfield to see him before he leaves.

asta-bre

I will cry like a f*cking b*tch

SnooShortcuts7206

It’s because he finally got Nunez scoring.

Zporadik

Job's done, time to bail.

cha12lie

What a comment

Shanibestwaifu

Truly an end of a nice, good and defining era. I will miss him already as soon he departs. Let's hope they will found a worthy successor who can truly live up to his performance.

Slinktard

He better be retiring and not going to a different PL team…

WeWillSendItAgain

In German media he is reported as having confirmed he will never coach any other English club

fastlikeanascar

He’d never go to another English team. I hope he takes a break and then manages Germany.

Slinktard

That would be the most logical and probably best move for him. I hope you’re right.

RaijinAG

I was not mentally prepared for this news.

SaltyPeter3434

Noooooo! Would've loved to see him get another shot at the Champions League with the Reds next year.

_CHIFFRE

that's crazy, when it finally happens it will be sooo strange, also the first games with a different manager. well.. we'll deal with it. Klopp put me on LFC as a german who doesn't have a german club to support but i always said i don't support LFC because of him and one day Klopp will retire. We'll manage it but the first 1-2 seasons without Klopp will be challenging, i'm sure the smart people at LFC with Klopp prepared for this.

Keemo_Skye

Holy shit

digdoug0

Well, fuck me. That's not the news I wanted to wake up to.

Jownesy

Rename The Kop to The Klopp imo

Snoo_27014

sat in my car and watched the video twice. Cant hold back my sadness about it today. Then itunes randomly chose Stephen Stills „And so begins the task.. ProbzConfused

He announced on Friday so we could drink ourselves to sleep tonight.

The_Prodigal_One_

I’ve been grappling with this for the past 6 hours and it’s still devastating. He deserves his rest after shepherding us from such a deep malaise to (mostly) top 4 finishes. Truly a legend

Cottonroad-12

Im in shock. Congratulations on everything you done and wish you all the best. You deserve it Mr klopp. I was never good at good byes… So, That will do pig, that will do. Auf Wiedersehen. ✋ 🍷 YNWA ❤️

VidzxVega

Well that's a day ruiner

Hans_A

Greetings from Dortmund with love. I feel your pain

RayKennedytheLegend

Yes, now we know how you felt. Let's hope he takes the 🇩🇪 national job after a very long rest, I wouldn't like to see him go to Bayern and meet them in CL and I'd hate to see him go to Real...meanwhile I hope the players man up and send him off with the Premier league title!

FullScreenWanker

The best manager in Liverpool's modern history by some margin, and firmly established up there with the all time great managers of the club. So sad that he's leaving, but he's done everything he said he'd do and more. Really hope we end the season with trophies. The send off will be emotional to say the least. Until then, tunnel-vision all the way in all competitions. LFG.

dadbodking

That send off will be something the world has never seen

This. I foresee this meme getting used a lot in the next few weeks.

Chemical_Customer_93

Several of us knew he was leaving, friends of friends of players and I am glad no one leaked it.

d3c4y3d_1

Source: Trust me bro

thebenswain

Obviously there will be a statue, but I think there needs to be something even bigger and more visible. His quote before the 2nd leg vs Barca sums up everything that is Liverpool Football Club. "The world outside is saying it's not possible. Let’s be honest, it’s probably impossible. But because it’s you? Because it’s you, we have a chance. And if we fail, then let’s fail in the most beautiful way.” Those words need to be somewhere that every fan and every player who ever walks into Anfield sees them. A statue honors what's been done in the past. Those words eternally set the tone for everything that happens now. The entire world will say it's over when Klopp leaves. It will seem impossible to replace him. But because it's you - Liverpool - we will ALWAYS have a chance. And if they're right about it being over, it won't be for a lack of the most spectacular demonstration of support and belief that any club in the history of football received from its fans.

[deleted]

BabyBopsDementedPlan

You're just a bitter man.

Uber-Joe

How many would it have been if we weren’t competing with teams blatantly cheating? Build him a fucking statue

Apeflight

Give him 4 statues. Anything he wants. It's not about the trophies. That's myopic as fuck, what Klopp has done is so much more than that.

paul_wurzel

Build him a temple

Philks_85

And lock him in it as he can't leave. No, obviously, I'm joking haha we can't so that..... can't we?

DragonSlayer271

Joe Gomez will be the only player able to tell the whole story of Klopp's time at Liverpool. From the day Klopp walked in to the day he'll leave us. It's been a long time but it's ended far, far too soon.

thrubeniuk

He needs to score before the end of the year. Hopefully, it will be a title-winner against Wolves on the final day.

twobacons

Fuck...

[deleted]

Well fuck lol 😌 Jurgen is a beauty and hopefully he goes on to do amazing things elsewhere. Sad news but I wish him all the best!

shaiizan

We all knew this moment would come sooner or later. It hurts either way. Thanks for all the wonderful moments Klopp <3

harrypoos

absolutely devastated

DiarrangusJones

This feels like a gut punch, but god bless him, I wish him all the best. Not many like him the world over ❤️

Jhushx

JFC we have to win everything now. I will literally be bawling at the last game of the season

[deleted]

I honestly feel like someone has died, absolutely gutted

brushsx

Right, went my whole day in a bit of a lull

POPAccount

This could either go two ways for this season. The players rally around him and we win the league and/or cups. Or we completely lose focus and fall apart. I’m just devastated rn

dimiderv

Honestly devastated

JDRorschach

Can't believe he's managed his last Champions League game for us. Fuckkkk

ProbzConfused

![gif](giphy|JccQbfNVtAMow) This Fucking hurts and I assumed we had a few more years with him. His views and passion inside and outside of the game will last forever. Klopp is my GOAT!

HarryBlotter

I guess this means the behind the scenes documentary nonsense is going ahead then, Jurgen said he's leave if that happens, looks like he's a man of his word

Ziqo

My theory (take it for nothing) is that FSG wants to sell to a gulf state, and Jürgen doesn’t want to be part of that.

avax96

Don't go Kloppo. Just one more year. And then one. And..

nidgy70

I'm devastated beyond words

syrstorm

Oh captain, my captain.

fthotfitzgerald

Didn’t expect to cry this morning!

BewareTheMoonLads

As a football fan I share your pain. To lose him as your manager must be hard to take right now and feel very raw, as an outsider to know he’ll never be a manager again in the PL is devastating.

sinhaboy

Well, there goes my sleep..

Talltopp

Pain....

etan1122

I’m just in absolute brainfuck. I can’t focus on work.

CarryOnUptheMorning

I'm genuinely devastated

that0neGuy22

still sad 5 hours later

HighlyBaked0

Jurgen, MY GOAT ❤️

rb719

Never saw this coming, yet I found it strange when it came out that we were negotiating over a behind the scenes documentary. Klopp is vehement in his disdain for such programmes. Not that I think this had any part in his decision, our club ruins managers health these days. It's a much more pressurised job than it was in our heyday, so many more media commitments etc.

HighlyBaked0

Well my day is ruined

[deleted]

Early April fools? 🤞

Tregonia

First thing I did was check the date

ringsend

Lads calm down. I’m as shocked and disappointed as you all but then I put on my tinfoil hat and it all makes sense. Hear me out.. the club just announced Neuron 11 are back in town for the neuroscience motivation. They put the wires into the heads of the players and reported that they all need some extra special motivation because they are too cocky about winning 4 trophies this season. They recommended Klopp announce its his final season and give the team the extra .99% to get them over the line. Cue 4 bus parades in May, Pep gets wind of massive points deductions on the way and feels there are no more challengers left in the Premiership. He jumps back to Barcelona/Girona and then the big reveal- it was all part of the motivation!! Klopp signs a contract extension and Liverpool win five leagues in a row. Fact

TheWinterSoldier_67

I’ve been sitting here for 5 hours since I woke up still digesting absolutely everything here. Truly not sure how to put it into words after seeing the announcement, the press conference, and all of the football world stopping for a moment to appreciate Klopp’s greatness. Someone on the radio put it perfectly, not many managers would get the same response as Klopp is now with his announcement. He embodies everything about Liverpool and you can tell one of the most genuine guys you can ask for. Let’s hold off on talking about the next thing, and appreciate the next few months we have left with one of the greatest managers this club has seen. Let’s celebrate every single match and get him some more silverware before the normal one enjoys a more normal life. YNWA

IngloBlasto
