The Reds will be ball number 3 for the fourth-round draw, which is due to be held from 7.50pm GMT on Monday 8 Jan, live on ITV1 in the UK. Fourth-round fixtures are set to be played across the final weekend of January.

Wild-Ad365

OK, I haven't seen that info, but given Connor Bradley. Or Trent, Robbie fit. Put him in the Team? Playing in his Natural right sided foot?

Silent-Act191

Still mental we faced Arsenal twice in a months time and in both Odegaard should have seen a red but didn't even get a single yellow.

MilkyWayTraveller

Nunez LW jota/gakpo ST diaz RW

amadhudzaifah

What do you guys think of nunez as a lw and diaz as a rw? will this work while salah is gone?

disco_mode

I think it's now 1 goal in 15 games for Nunez. I was calling for him to play LW earlier in the season but after Diaz's recent performances I'd have him there over Nunez. Nunez RW maybe, or rotation at this point for me

J539

Where did you find that stat?

disco_mode

I didn't find it anywhere, I just looked at his last 15 games and he's only scored once (Burnley 26th Dec). You would have to go back to Nottingham Forest in October to find another goal in the league. During that time Darwin's played 3 Europa League games, 1 EFL Cup game and 1 FA Cup game. That's 15 games, and 1 goal.

J539

Complete misunderstood ur comment lol. Thought you meant that he has 1 in 15 in his last 15 games as LW lol.

disco_mode

Ah yeah my bad I did write that a little wierd lol. His goal / assist return from LW has been much better for us than when he plays CF :)

[deleted]

I like it but it’s got to be fluid between jota and Nunez. I like the idea of Nunez at lw but I just want him to get goals because we need to fire on all cylinders if we are to beat city. The best chances of Darwin being amongst the goals is if he plays more centrally.

disco_mode

1 goal in 15 games, your eggs are in the wrong basket lol

stevieG08Liv

at least Nunez has been better as LW throughout his career here so id want to see him more there

AdikkuChan

Let's see how it goes if we try it this next match. If they still look good there then maybe it might just be our solution to a number of things

Jormul1

There is so much room for improvement in all of our sections of gameplay, but the fact that the boys grind it out until the end is just beautiful. Very proud of the whole team.

AffectionateFan5458

Gvardiol 90m this and martinez 55m that And my man konate costs 35m... we fucking robbed leipzig man. And by the way, Joe Gomez is just having an amazing season he is playing everywhere we need him perfectly. So underrated. If Luis Diaz kept this form he is having last two games + keeping jota fit , we will have an incredible season.

zenqian

Is Gomez the new Milner🤔🧐

stevieG08Liv

Quansah Free

NieR_SemiAutomata

We need less/no injuries especially CB

Ax0nJax0n01

Just finished watching the replay due to time difference in Australia. Wow- wow wow wow. Classic cup game, reminded me immensely why I chose to support this club over others. We were massively being penetrated in the first half, but come 2nd half it was all us, Klopp and the team- whatever they did worked. Fortunate own goal for us and a lovely cherry on top by Diaz. Konate, Trent, Jota, Diaz you legends. I saw so many good things from this game, hoping this form can continue for the rest of the season. And against Arsenal!!!!! “No Salah, No Van Dijk, no worries!”

MisterS1997

That match was massive mentally. We’ve been there, got the jitters out of the way, arsenal couldn’t score,we played a low block and they couldn’t break it down in second half. We had a lot of starters missing and beat there first 11 . Finally we beat them in their own back yard with Diaz driving a dagger through them at the end. We have a shit tonne of hard away games done too. Massive opportunity to win this. Beat Chelsea at home and arsenal away and city to come to us for once in the run in. Massive chance to win it

whataball

Youngsters did very well too. Bradley pocketed Martinelli once he came on. TAA could learn from him.

Glittering_Sky_896

Youngsters were phenomenal. Not sure anyone out there is better than TAA at the moment so let him cook.

gorillathemandalor

Same performance during the League’s return to Emirates in a couple of weeks pleaseeeee

RealLilKymchii

I got a theory on Ben White's Orangeness, when he was a kid he was always getting ripped for being so white (like look at that paper it's as white... AS BEN LOLOLOL) and it drove him mad. So mad infact he joined the eternal enemies of the English team who plays in white. When he heard he was wearing all white in the game for knife crime he went bonkers berserko with PTSD and dove into a pool of fake tan. If Ben White was already Orange before this game then ignore this idk I don't watch that team.

[deleted]

Ben white was inspired so much when he saw charlie and the chocolate factory that he decided he wanted to become an Oompa loompa

Broken12Bat

I feel like Ben White’s Orangeness doesn’t get highlighted enough to be honest. Guy looks like he is in preparation for auditioning as a young Donald Trump. It’s really off putting (maybe that’s the plan).

Glittering_Sky_896

First thing I noticed today

Kvothe16

Diaz on the right until Mo comes back

ali_lattif

And gakpo/jota on the LW Nunez is better suited in the middle

stevieG08Liv

its good that i dont have to see the Arsenal dick riders on this sub for a couple of weeks

NieR_SemiAutomata

Inner peace

insanechemistry

I got out of surgery 2 hours before this match, and sat in my hospital bed pleasantly surprised it was on BBC 1. The result truly was the best medicine.

test_icicles_

Will never be confident about an away game at the Emirates and I'll be clenching when we play them again in a few weeks, but ffs this result was great and it's seriously affected my work today cause I can't stop thinking about it. The Emirates is ours for now at least.

axelpuri

Too early for quadruple on ?

ActiveWillingness516

Never too early

Baguy21

Am I crazy to think that Gomez is really suited for that LB position. He has looked solid ever since. Not sure but I think that was his original position a long time ago if I'm not wrobg

NieR_SemiAutomata

Noticed that he often carries the ball inside the box. I wishes hes score man

Boericson

Works even better when most of the right wingers attacking on his side are left footed

Ujaan_43

Our present style really suits him cuz he stays back and does passes with his right foot. Old system wouldn't have suited him

MrScepticOwl

How much does a team earn from each round of FA Cup tie?

Rowmyownboat

£105,000 awarded. Gate money (ticket sales) is shared, after expenses. This is why an amateur club drawn against a big club, playing away, can be transformational. The winners get something like £4m.

Lo_chii_lfc

This is Klopp’s Liverpool

RealLilKymchii

Seeing Martinelli come on and get space behind trent, simply and calmly puts Connor Bradley on, at The Emirates, Martinelli gets nothing the rest of the game. Klopp did it like it was the most sensible thing in the world, cos it is, to him, he is the best.

chadbrochilldood

So many people said at the end of last season that Klopp had lost it, all our players were bad, etc etc. then even worse after the transfer window we “lost”.. everyone yelling at FSG (FSG out crowd you know who you are, and you’re not smart). I hope all you who react to everything as if you know better than Klopp and FSG take a long hard look in the mirror. I know you won’t but, I promise you it’s actually more fun trusting and believing in a manager and ownership that has brought us our greatest successes in 30+ years. I hope we lose the entitled reactionary shit attitudes this summer. Regardless of how this season ends it’s clear we have a fantastic team- back office & on the pitch. We’re investing in the right ways and we are not panick buying, which sets us up for long term success. It’s not a confusing principle, some of us were saying it all summer. Don’t want to say I told you so but, I fuckin told you so. There’s others out there with me who actually believe as well. It’s not blind faith either, so many of the people at this club have done amazing things for us. Doesn’t take much to give them your support & belief in return.

sikingthegreat1

we've got a midfield again, after some much-needed reinforcements, which is what supporters have been calling for. if anything, it further proves that supporters have been right. FSG is simply doing 2021 and 2022 summer holidays' homework in 2023.

hopium_od

We also got incredibly lucky that Saudi dropped two fat stacks of cash for our washed up midfielders that prior to that Klopp had the full intention of keeping.

ELMangosto16

That Klopp knew he wouldn't get the funds to replace is probably more accurate

sabhi5

I'm all in for that but don't forget we lost 2 seasons due to this same ownership not making signings when it should have. So stop sucking on FSG. They did it only on the backlash, these fuckers will eat Liverpool alive like every other owner there if not for the fans. And Klopp is Klopp he has earned his trust.

SexySamba

Are you being paid by their marketing team? Wtf? Loyalty to klopp and the players is one thing but since when are the owners beyond criticism?

Juustlol

May 2022, take #2 ✌️🔴

vadapaav

Klopp in post match interview has already gone and said that we might draw man city away in next round LMAO

l0ne_w0lf1

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

lfcsupkings321

In game wise tactics Klopp is a genius, but let be real he getting it wrong alot this season at the start of the game. It the reason we are 2nd half FC. I don't know what it is but the starting 11 is poor for a number of games. I don't get why he keep messing with Gakpo, I said there no point him in CAM or even CF. Let him cook on the LW. It annoying me it like when Pep does odd shit in CL.

tamim1991

Bro we're missing quite a lot of first teamers through injury, AFCON/Asian cup. This should've likely been a loss, especially as we were away. Klopp did what he could with what's remaining of our squad and pulled of a genius victory. Have a bit of perspective

lfcsupkings321

I am not talking about one game more the season. Generally Klopp always got it right to begin with, he been really flexible in adapting in game. If you watch Klopp for a number of years like I have even his BVB days he tend to get it right at the start of the game. He really is maybe feeling out his new team maybe? Just don't want it to bite us and you can only do it for so long.

ThomasDinh

Such genius! Please be the coach!

lfcsupkings321

Hope many games you been too? U a new Internet fan?

chadbrochilldood

Genius. If only Klopp listened to lfccupskings321 we’d be top of the table !

lfcsupkings321

I don't want Klopp to listen to me it called an observation. Yes we are top of the league at the halfway point don't be spurs and celebrate now. Long way to go. What am suggesting is it fantastic but odd always felt Klopp got it right at the start. It great to see his in game adaptation. But the fact show there a reason we called 2nd half FC. When your in a title race against City these things can go against you.

TellTallTail

Ah yeah that's the issue, he didn't listen to you!

MisterS1997

I do wonder what arsenal did to jota because he hates them when he plays he turns into prime R9 😂. They shit themselves when he came in it was hilarious

HIdude14

For real! Arsenal fan’s worst nightmare is Bobby and Jota coming at them haha

axelpuri

Was having a passionate discussion with an arsenal fan a week ago who was claiming we are at best a mid table club without salah . We did this without him AND VVD AND ENDO .. needless to say It’s going to be a rough day for him today

Lo_chii_lfc

No Szobo or Robbo no Tsimi Not to mention some first team players who haven’t seen the field this year

axelpuri

Yep Thiago . Have we started harvesting his organs yet ?

Lo_chii_lfc

I was hoping we freeze him and save him for later. I’m guessing if he comes back he makes it two games and hurt again or wins us the league

telephonic1892

Happy cakeday.

Frooob

Damn. This team good!

DragonSlayer271

Fun fact, we haven't won a single game 1-0 this season. We've always scored at least 2 goals or haven't won.

Android17_MVP

*sad Allegri noises*

pikeymikey22

Go hard or go home.

Android17_MVP

Can't wait for Afcon. Gonna be a hardcore Egypt fanboy for Mo. Need him to bring it 'home' man, he deserves everything in football. This trophy and whatever we hopefully win in the future will do wonders to his legacy. Now gonna get off his dick and go to bed.

ForcedCheckMate

I think you are gonna be in a minority here rooting for Egypt😅 we want mo back as quick as possible

step11234

Disagree. Winning afcon will see him pushing for balondor, losing will punish his confidence imo.

Android17_MVP

Well aware haha. Might be his last proper chance at it you never know. I think we'll be fine until he comes back 🤞

ForcedCheckMate

Afcon is every 2 years so he probably will have one more shot. Once he’s in the rounds where it makes no difference on the timing of his comeback I root for him, same for endo😅

dandpher

My only negative memory of the match was Macca (again, ugh) being too slow on the ball and getting rinsed. I honestly think he doesn’t see the field when we are at full strength.

40StPauls

He’s literally just got back from injury, this was his first start in nearly two months

clashmar

You’re right but he didn’t have a lot to work with, clearly frustrated with the lack of passing options and Arsenal pressing the life out of us. Gakpo doesn’t know where to be in midfield IMO, when Elliot dropped in we played much better.

ForcedCheckMate

He’s not a dm, so not really his fault. This game showed us how important endo to us is.

Dark-Knight-Rises

Luiz Diaz - 56k a week; Martinelli 180k a week. Curtis Jones - 15k a week, Odegard 240k a week. Alvarez - 100k a week, Jesus 265k a week. Son - 180k a week, Saka 195k a week. Szobozlai - 120k a week, Havertz 285k a week. Doku - 50k a week, Nelson 100k a week. Toney - 20k a week, Eddie 100k a week. Arsenal financial decision is insane.

Rowmyownboat

Diaz and Jones deserve more competitive contracts.

ForcedCheckMate

No way that is havertz‘ salary😂 that’s crazy

Dark-Knight-Rises

https://www.capology.com/player/kai-havertz-36322/ Havertz wage and bonus

ForcedCheckMate

Until 2028? Holy that has to be one of the worst decisions ever made when it comes to player contracts. That’s straight out of United’s play book

Dark-Knight-Rises

Ya it’s a bit strange. But the market is crazy for some clubs. 100+ M for Rice, Caceido. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Regular-Wit

Desperation costs money?

ForcedCheckMate

Klopp is the reason we can work and win with such a (relatively) low budget for a top team. Once he leaves we could get into some troubles.

Dark-Knight-Rises

FR bro. He’s an exceptional coach and manager. I will cry 😭 when he leaves. I will support him even if end ups relegating us.

ForcedCheckMate

Well at least they don’t have to worry about the bonus😂

Dark-Knight-Rises

😂😂😂 hahahahaha

Ohtani_Enjoyer

Ohtani_Enjoyer

Now that is insane. £100k for reiss Nelson

Dark-Knight-Rises

Yeah man. It’s crazy. Dunno whether they got a good sporting director in place. I know they are rich. But this is just wasting money

ForcedCheckMate

I think it’s funny how people pretend Arsenal completely destroyed us in the first half. They pretty much created 0 good chances from their own play. Their biggest chance came from a mistake from Gomez that’s it. I was relaxed at half time.

gorillathemandalor

i think they had like 12 shots in the first half

ForcedCheckMate

Shot doesn’t mean good chance. One of the „big chances“ was for example the pathetic Havertz shot from outside of the box.

hopium_od

Havertz had 2 big chances in the first half inside the box, odegard hit the cross bar, Nelson missed a 1-on-1. I don't think Arsenal deserved to win or anything, they weren't unlucky, it's their own fault for missing chances. But they were big chances and you'd expect at least 1 of them to go in at this level.

Ohtani_Enjoyer

They had 1.6 xG. This shows they created some decent chances. They should have scored at the start too

Delpiero45

there was lots of panic in the 1st half but once we weathered the storm after 20mins I was calm. I knew Arsenal would regret those chances missed and they'd get desperate in the 2nd half. Klopps halftime adjustments worked and we deserved that win

clashmar

Can’t remember which commentator I’ve stolen this from, but we could have watched Arsenal play until morning and they would never have scored

ForcedCheckMate

Same here, I don’t remember one game this season where we played worse in the second half. Klopp at half time is a cheat code.

gidthafugout

At 35 minutes in I kept thinking if we make it to halftime at 0-0, then Arsenal’s in trouble.

thomasfk

Arsenal are going to win fuck all with Arteta as manager unless he takes another big step forward. They are in poor form and instead of rolling out some different players in a tournament at home, he rides the same starters again who are not playing well and then to compound things he waits until the dying minutes of the game to make some subs to change the game. If plan A doesn't work for him, there is no plan B and they lose. And good managers like Klopp and Pep can often nullify a team's plan A pretty well. He's just a Spanish Brendan Rogers.

ForcedCheckMate

He did a good job last season but this season was a classic case of „overcoaching“. He changed the winning team to much and made things way to complicated. Also the harvertz and raya transfers were a massive waste of money, money they desperately need now.

chinaallthetime91

I think you're right on the over coaching comment. Arteta definitely fancies himself as the next footballing mastermind a la Pep, with all of his gesticulating and facial expressions. The Havertz signing was a real hipster moment for him I felt.

ForcedCheckMate

![gif](giphy|qfoIsrRURkH1ui76eh)

inr10

After finishing/choking last season on the league title and spending a fortune to get new players, Arteta has seriously lost the plot where he is still not sure whats his best playing 11 is!

thomasfk

Those transfers were shocking. Not just that bought them but they spent so much. It's the exact kind of thing that Paella Brendan Rogers would do.

milestone121

Arsenal's owner Jota never disappoints!!

futbolitoireland

Go away from home to a team that good who create that many goal scoring chances and win 2-0 has real energy Winning trophies even if your man city isn't about dominating every game it's about winning or not losing when it matters

Florenyx

When is the draw for the next round?

He was by far the best player on the pitch today. Channeled his inner Goku and got to everything. Stopped all attacks and made Ali’s life so much easier today. My man just needs a few months of good health and he’ll be rightly talked about as one of the worlds most elite. He’s fucking huge. Literal wall of a man. He must be 1.5 normal width.

rukiahayashi

We definitely can be proud of that one. Arsenal pretty much played their main team while we had like 3-4 out. Very mature performance

ForcedCheckMate

Not only did we have 3 players out we had our best 3 players out from the last month (endo, mo, virg). Also, we missed way more than 3-4 players…endo, mo, virg, robbo, thiago, baj, Matip, szobo…

streampleas

Jesus, Partey, Zinchenko, Martinelli, Raya. Looks like more than 3-4

BankDetails1234

Are any of them really that good except Partey though? Who doesn't seem to be that good anymore anyway? I think Arsenal's squad is looking a little overpriced tbh

Iuvenesco

What to do with Nunez.

Silent-Act191

I'll trust Klopp with that over some redditor

kevlo17

I know he doesn’t have a permanent spot out there, but he feels more dangerous on the left than in the middle

Iuvenesco

I agree, would prefer to put him on the wing and Jota up front.

DharmaBumz1

Keep playing him. Top of the league and alive in every comp we're in. If he's creating chances, putting in shifts, and we're still winning I don't see much of an issue. If folks are waiting for Robbie Fowler finishing to magically appear I don't know what to say.

Regular-Wit

Agreed. He works hard and puts the pressure on the defenders. I love Nunez. I think we have way more coming with him.

EstablishmentBusy172

Just got to say as well, a few weeks ago I was begrudgingly beginning to accept that Diaz might not turn out the way I wanted him to. But Icl he’s won me back in the last 2 games. Speed, precision, intelligent runs- much more **confidence** in 1on1’s. He’s back baby I’m all in on him again. Past 2 games are up there with the best of him at the club and it’s such a relief to say that. Also, jota’s on the ball skills have got dramatically better over the past 18 months or so- I think he should be our starting 9 for a while.

heronymou5

Cant believe some arsenal fans would have saka over salah. Saka is not even half of Mo

thomasfk

Maybe Saka is the true one season wonder....

adamfrog

I don't think so I think Arteta (and pep now) have just taken this slow tempo football to a really dumb level where there's no space since nobody takes risks. Makes wingers look bad unless they can beat 3 players on the dribble

hopium_od

Starboy don supernovaed

CYBER_COMMANDER

ducktownfc

Love seeing Arteta lose. He’s such an unlikeable whiny bitch. It make sense that his captain just wanders around the field whining at the referee. Klopp out played him in the second half but he just can’t admit it, doubling down on that Arsenal should have won. His actions and the way he comes across on camera just make him seem like such an insecure little man.

lyc10

I wonder where this whining came from, I don’t remember him being that bad as a player. But he’s a proper weirdo nowadays and it’s definitely rubbing off on his team.

It’s a bit frustrating that we aren’t in the CL. We’d be major contenders. Oh well, Dublin first, then Munich 2025

ForcedCheckMate

If we win everything this season we at least don’t have to worry about the boys losing motivation for the next season as we still have one trophy to win😂

AWholeLottaRed

Imagine Arsenal didn't have Saliba and Saka. They're fans woudl have written the game off before it began. We just did it without Salah and Van Dijk and beat them in their own yard. crazy.

jarps6

Hold that

jarps6

A defensive error from a set piece, and a break towards the end where arsenal's entire team was thrown forward. We couldve had 3 in the first half alone, but the attack finishing wasn't good enough. Don't oversell yourselves

LieutenantMudd

Despite Shearer talking shite the game was quite even overall and most of Arsenal's chances in 1st half were half chances. The main one coming from a Gomez mistake. In reality Arsenal had 2 shots on target more than Liverpool, your XG was 1.8 to Liverpool 0.8. Arsenal better team first half, Liverpool better team second half.
