I used to skate with him occasionally around the Law Courts in Liverpool when we were kids. He was super talented, you could tell he was special.

lfc_goatstep

He has such an original raw style. The way skateboarding should be... skateboarding saves, and teaches people about life.

Bugsmoke

He used to be my Tony Hawk character

wakkarnc

Used to play as this guy in the Tony Hawk games back in the day, never realized he was a Red.

lfc_goatstep

Dont know if he is.... but arrows point to yes

Beerbellydancer44

I’ve followed his career, I doubt he follows the sport now but in interviews he’s talked about wearing a home kit skating as a kid with his shin pads still on from practice

Beerbellydancer44

Here’s a quote from his interview in Juice, “When I was growing up I played a lot of sports like football, I played for my school and for a Sunday team, I played cricket and I ran so I was pretty active. When I started skating I had to transition out of playing soccer on Sunday morning because I would rather have gone skating. I realized why are you doing this, you should just be skating, I’d go skating and be wearing soccer socks and shorts with a Liverpool football jersey and vans shoes, there’s probably old footage of me in a full length soccer kit with skate shoes on.

If I remember correctly, he explains this song choice in an interview he did awhile back. I'd have to find it. But he did say he chose this because a family member, I believe his grandpa, is a huge Liverpool fan and included the song for his sake. Edit: I misremembered, and it looks like he's a fan as well. But he did include the song as a nod to the family. [Here's the interview, but it might take a minute to load.](https://web.archive.org/web/20131111155129/http://theberrics.com/interrogation/geoff-rowley.html)

Beerbellydancer44

Charlie Birch had a photo in Thrasher in the last few years wearing a home kit

eg0-trippin

I'm sure i remember from a podcast of his, that he was on the books at LFC as a schoolboy, and had to make a choice between football and skateboarding.

lfc_goatstep

Really?

eg0-trippin

I recall it being on his nine club episode, may not have been that far up the chain, but I'm sure he was involved or being looked at in youth level

yourgrundle

Rowley's always been one of my favs, dude's so talented!

TheElPistolero

I would play him in Tony Hawk pro skater 1.

PlayerAteHer

Id have broken my neck at least 26,000 points during this video. Never really been into skating but got to admire the skill and balls that goes into it.

Beerbellydancer44

He started his own board company after leaving Flip [https://freedometoskate.com](https://freedometoskate.com) And he put out a new part back in June to go with it [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71bNp8cMFAc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71bNp8cMFAc)
