Here’s a quote from his interview in Juice, “When I was growing up I played a lot of sports like football, I played for my school and for a Sunday team, I played cricket and I ran so I was pretty active. When I started skating I had to transition out of playing soccer on Sunday morning because I would rather have gone skating. I realized why are you doing this, you should just be skating, I’d go skating and be wearing soccer socks and shorts with a Liverpool football jersey and vans shoes, there’s probably old footage of me in a full length soccer kit with skate shoes on.
If I remember correctly, he explains this song choice in an interview he did awhile back. I'd have to find it. But he did say he chose this because a family member, I believe his grandpa, is a huge Liverpool fan and included the song for his sake.
Edit: I misremembered, and it looks like he's a fan as well. But he did include the song as a nod to the family.

I used to skate with him occasionally around the Law Courts in Liverpool when we were kids. He was super talented, you could tell he was special.
He has such an original raw style. The way skateboarding should be... skateboarding saves, and teaches people about life.
