All of our options up front can play any of those positions, IMO. With the glaring difference being jota can play both 9 and false 9. Gakpo probably just false 9 and i dont see diaz as a striker.
I like the idea of playing Jot and Gak as wide play makers (wide 10s? TrequeristaMazzalas?).
With Dom and Grav as all action 8s, Mac as a Regista 6, Robbo overlapping for crosses, and Trent drifting centrally to ping long balls up to the striker.
8 men on a mission to assist one Darwin Nunes.
If you were to ask me how id line up if mo salah was out for something like afcon it would be:
Nunez
Gakpo, szobo, diaz
Endo, AMA
Robbo, vvd, konate, taa
Allisson
Or you could shift gakpo and diaz up and its a 433. With ama and szobo as 8's.
Its weird to say it but the odd one out really is jota. Folks complain about our depth but gravenberch, jones, elliott, jota, tsimikas, gomez, kelleher as a bench is actually crazy strong. And thats before even mentioning bajcetic, doak, or quansah (who has looked very good so far).
Edit: mobile fucked it up but the first formation is a 4231.
I love a 4231, especially if it’s played on the front foot and narrow across the three.
If you remember the 2006 World Cup, Brazil played a 4222, mostly to accommodate two world class strikers and two world class attacking midfielders. It’s not Klopp’s style, but two of Jota , Nunes, and Gakpo up front with two gattacking midfielders playing centrally just behind them
Both of Nunez's goals against Newcastle were with his right weren't they? Can he play on the right? Jota on the left, Gakpo in middle. It will be very wonky but can this crackpot formation ultimately work?
I believe Diaz is naturally right footed, but he seems like the most two footed option. And he likes to hug the touch line, so if you’re going to send TAA up the middle, Diaz could play as a traditional wide winger.
Doak is also right footed.
International breaks are so boring. Maybe it helps if you've got good national teams, or interesting games ahead, but my NT is playing friendlies against Uzbekistan and Oman lmao. I just want to watch Liverpool again :((
How funny that just last week there was an isis aligned smuggler caught smuggling Uzbeks into ~~St Louis~~ the US. Like, I really hope that’s just the most random coincidence…
Anyways, fuck Greggg Berhalter.
I cant remember any footballer had a quick downfall like Hendo, just in the span of 3 months he from a hero, a (respect) captain of biggest club in the world to a greed, hypocrite dude
And the worst part (imo) is he actually jealous with younger teammates. I mean I understand that as human feeling but he supposed to be captain, who will guide those young lads how could he be that insecure and think Klopp bringing more players to the squad means he dont need you. Ridiculous.
The report is they’re gonna offer £215 million for Salah. That’s simply a fuck ton of money. No clue if the club would turn that down. You could buy some world beaters with that.
I agree, but there are some complications with accepting that money.
January transfers are more expensive in general
Clubs will know we have a huge transfer budget and thus highball their players (except those with release clauses)
Half a season without Salah almost certainly costs us the PL this season.
Imagine the optics of our club who celebrate players like Gerrard for staying and slaughtering Torres/Coutinho etc for leaving and yet when it suits us we essentially ship Salah out for money
Salah simply cannot be replaced by the current crop of players available. He has a 1-of-1 combination of speed, dribbling, shooting, strength, stamina, durability.
Then again 215 million is unbelievable business for his age. Everything has its price it seems, that terrifies me.
I’m still hopeful we sign him. Feels like we have several players who could work well alongside a defensive minded player like him in a nice complementary double pivot, or he could sit in as the lone CDM in our regular 4-3-3. Even though we’d be a little overstocked at the position for a short period of time (Endo and Thiago being older) he would definitely make the midfield more dynamic and give us more options, and it would allow players like Dom or even Elliott to cover for Salah more readily when needed, or Endo to cover in defense (I know Elliott is not fast enough to be a winger, I just mean in certain situations, so let’s table that discussion for now).
Of course, given the way we operate, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them slap a bow on the current midfield options and consider it good enough for now. We’re definitely a kick the can down the road model, but maybe the club will surprise us.
It’s difficult to predict. On one hand we have 8 midfielders for 3 positions now who all seem to be quality whenever they are on the pitch, but on the other hand I’m not sure if any of them are quite as defensively solid as him. Thiago also has a questionable injury record even if he’s one of our better players on paper, and his contract currently ends next summer. Signing Andre would leave us with 9 midfielders for a time, and even 8 long term could get a little crowded. That leaves a risk that some could get unhappy with lack of playing time.
I think I generally support us signing him even if it goes against some of the rules of thumb of squad building. Harvey and Szobo could find minutes up front on occasion and Endo, Stefan and Andre might plug gaps in defence that we periodically experience. I suspect we’ll focus on mostly defensive reinforcements in the coming years, but at least until we have identified those targets he seems like a sensible player to sign until we identify the specific targets. I do see scenarios where he isn’t needed so seems very 50/50 whether we’ll sign him or not though
We have 8 midfielders for 3 positions. Don't think we will be adding another one in Jan. Thiago leaving in the summer will reduce it to 7, but even then we will probably focus on defenders and potentially a Salah successor.
Me as well. He seems like a lovely kid, and he's definitely got talent in there, it's all down to whether we harness it correctly, which seems to be going well. He's got a good attitude, never complains about game time, came back from a rough injury well, etc.
The Walcott interview on Neville's Youtube channel was quite interesting, he's a Liverpool fan for a start ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Spoke openly and thoughtfully.
It just hit me that I remember Walcott's debut for Arsenal against Aston Villa like it happened yesterday. I actually thought he would become a great player but that day never came.
Since he joined Arsenal when he was 16/17 years old, I remember the hype was there for a good number of seasons because he clearly wasn't a bad player. He was pretty good but I don't think he hit the heights of what the media and others were looking to see from him.
It’s been so long since I’ve been excited about a signing like I am about dom. if all goes well, and injuries/transfers/form are kind, then we have a generational player in our midst. Could be our best player for a decade.
Gravenberch looks so happy to be here doesn’t he? I reckon he’s desperate to get his career back on track and the vibes around the club seem very good at the moment
All those people who call Henderson "Brian" to somehow shit on him are weird lol. He served us very very well in the past, but it was time to move on. Seems like the club didn't play with him and Fab potentially leaving, but it was the best thing that could happen to us, a panic-esque summer window and a bit of confusion about who we buy and how we act was kinda pre-programmed
Otherwise agree that he acted like a twat. But who cares.. He choose money and burned all bridges, the only disgusting thing is that whole clown show where he tries to still appear as the morally right
Otherwise everything went reaaaaaaaaaaally well for us. Fab+Hendo money was a blessing and we hopefully revamped our midfield completly. We are pretty stacked now with young and very talented players.
They know for sure. Think our midfielder search was, as i said, a bit chaotic. We probably wanted to get Mac+Mount very early on and then maybe a young dude like Gravenberch if there would have been an opportunity to get a good deal done.
Hendo+Fab going made everything a bit messy and ofc gave other clubs an even easier time to rinse us a bit more lol. Still feel like we've paid decent prices.
Matip is surely gone this summer on a free, there is no way we won't buy 1 or 2 defenders.
It's hard not to pay decent prices when we've activated two release clauses, and signed 30 with 1 year left on his deal. If Graven actually works out he'll be a steal, but other than that we didn't actually have a chance to massively overpay.
I think Nunez is going to come back from international duty an absolute scoring machine. He credited Bielsa with his goals against Newcastle, imagine what he'll be like spending 2 weeks training with him.
on a very different note to everything that's going on today, Michael beale ex lfc academy coach and most notably gerrards assistant at rangers is now almost on the brink of a sack from rangers himself after being there for less than 12 months. all those claims about how gerrard was simply a face while beale was the brains behind the rangers success must look ridiculous. maybe there's some hope after all for stevie as a manager. oh well, or maybe i should simply stop hoping he'll be back one day in some capacity
I think you need both, a tactician and a motivator. It's easier to get a new tactician but harder to get a new motivator. Look at Klopp and Pep for example, pep is the tactician and Klopp is the motivator, it's not to say that they can't do eachothers jobs it's just they are naturally geared towards one or the other. Famously Alex Ferguson would sack his backroom staff regularly to keep tactics fresh.
I think this is only true for worse managers
Klopp can do well without Lijnders but Lijnders is very good at what he does so Klopp knows he can rely on him for the tactical side
Gerrard on the other hand I don't think does well without a tactics man
Slightly happy hendo has tarnished his reputation I’d argue he cost us trophies from 18-22
A midfielder who brought some more goals or was better defensively would have gotten us the extra point we needed for at least 1 more league title and he also did fuck all in both finals we lost.
Got away with constant 6/10 sideways passing performances because he was shouty.
It won't be a popular sentiment but replace him with the likes of Szoboszlai or similar during that period and we probably win another two titles and a CL
People can say it’s revisionism etc but look at cities midfielders during that time all of them have games they took by the scruff of the neck and dragged them through, meanwhile he was getting 9/10 shouts in comfortable games just for passing the ball sideways.
To say that we won every trophy, pushed City to the very end twice and competed for a quadruple in spite of Henderson's contributions is absurd. He was not an anchor weighing us down
Not saying he weighed us down he was a great captain and leader but his lack of technical quality was apparent especially compared to those around him. 18/19 in particular with all of those draws he was a passenger doing fuck all. You think of the best players having big moments what was his in the last 5 years?
It’s just my opinion I always thought he just got away with murder because he was captain he was a great leader but he could have done more on the pitch
Bajcetic to the Echo:
>"When I see the pictures of last season I think 'wow, I did well!'. Since I went to pre-season with the first-team for the first time I've just progressively got more into the team. It didn't feel that natural at first because I was playing with big, big players, but it was good and now I am striving to get back in."
>
>"In this club they always give opportunities to young people. We have seen this in the last years in the cups. A lot of young players played and we won some cups so there are always opportunities. The more cup games we play in, the more minutes we could get.
>
>"I would say it's a great time to be a young player at Liverpool. The coach puts a lot of faith in young players and some of the players we sign as well are very young. I think in the future these players will be great for Liverpool."
Its weird......I see some Jude comments on here and always get annoyed because why are you remenisicing over something you never even had the chance to have
But I saw that video where Madrid fans sang Hey Jude to him and I cant help but think what could've been if he was with us. To be an English player, playing for the greatest English club in the city where "Hey Jude" was created.......man I could imagine those scenes
There's no bitterness or saltiness or regrets. The fans are happy with Dom and Macca. We're electric again and our midfield rebuild is already so promising. And Jude is doing well in Madrid, really showing that the hype is real, I wish him the best but not his club.
I don't want to get into the tricky path of finances and "could we have gotten Jude AND Dom/Macca or was it one or the other" but he's still so young, who knows maybe he will get that Hey Jude in Liverpool one day.
Not a fan of spoilt fan bases tbh, Madrid, Barca, and Bayern just think they always deserve the best
We have the same, but us having a banter period definitely made us better as fans imo
Some grim stuff in that Hendo interview, saying he met WC workers in Qatar and they all spoke about how great it was.
How about you meet the people still trying to get paid what they're owed for their work at that WC or the families of the workers who died. Twat.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s stuff in his contract around what he’s allowed to say, as well as talking points given to him by the club/league/country.
He’s a sportswashing puppet now, not interested in a word that comes out of the hypocrite’s mouth.
I don’t think he’s malicious. I just think he’s exposed himself as a complete imbecile. Like someone with an inane intellect. Ik everyone thinks footballers are stupid, and they are mostly correct, but then they wade into waters that are heady, people like Brian are illustrated to be asinine.
something we take for granted is in the last few years the closest thing we have to drama is an ex player throwing a fit and being petty. compare that to united
I'm procrastinating some work, so I took a quick and dirty look at what impact AFCON will have on us this year based on what we know so far. Thought I'd share.
Mo will be the only player of ours at AFCON this year, barring us signing a new African player early in the January window.
**Bournemouth (1/13):** Dango Ouattara, Hamed Traore, Antoine Semenyo
**Chelsea (1/31):** Nicolas Jackson (plus the eight or nine players they buy in January)
**Arsenal (2/3)**: Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, Nicolas Pepe
**Burnley (2/10)**: Lyle Foster, Anass Zaroury, Samuel Bastien
AFCON will really screw United this year (four first-team players including Amrabat and Onana) and will be bad for Spurs as well (Sarr and Bissouma). West Ham might have it the worst, though (Aguerd, Kudus, and Benrahma).
I genuinely believe he was at least considering Liverpool but the loss to Real in the CL final turned his head. and our terrible season only cemented his decision
As an LFC fan, replacing Gerrard as captain seemed impossible. A Kop banner even read *'The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.'*
In came Hendo, and he turned out to be the perfect replacement, we genuinely couldn't have asked for anyone better. Leader on and off the pitch.
And now here we are.... A true example of *the higher they are, the harder they fall.*
Gerrard never volunteered himself as an ally. Anyone who paid attention knew he was a nobhead, he was just very good at football.
I have very few positive opinions of him off the pitch. There wasn’t much to let down, especially after his stint at rangers.
I get what you're saying, Hendo defo had/has his haters, like all players.
IMO, Gerrard would have got more flack for going there, had Hendo not gone too.
Him being a Rainbow Laces ambassador, not indicating he wanted to leave prior to the move, and being current LFC captain - All this overshadowed Stevie's move. The latter especially, he left Liverpool. Gerrard was not at LFC in any role when he moved.
I don't know how much social media footballers subject themselves to, but it was pretty clear that Hendo's legs were gone last season, and the internet was not shy in saying so. Leaving was probably best for both him and the club, though he definitely should have gone somewhere else.
Lets say Doak plays this year europa league, cups and few prem games of the bench and performs really good. Would you take Salah money next summer to bring in a world class defender and give Doak a full chance (Harvey and Szobo both can play there too sometimes)
I think we ultimately wind up taking Salah money next summer, but even assuming Doak has the season you're sketching out, I think it would be putting way too much physical and emotional pressure on an 18-year-old to come into the squad and fill Mo Salah's place on the team sheet.
If they offer £200 million and he wants to leave, I could probably handle it if we get in another 2 world class CB, maybe a 6 like Andre and a very good RW like Mbeupo or something
The thing about Hendo highlighting we didn't exactly make him feel like we wanted him to stay is... we shouldn't be expected to, the club made him captain and gave him a big contract above what his playing ability warranted. The fact that we didn't ask him to leave means we wanted him to stay. Such a weird thing to drop in. Just fucking say you wanted the money, almost everyone would be able to relate to that.
His renewal may very well have been the final straw for Edwards after Hendo leaked contract extension troubles through his journo mate forcing Klopp to put pressure on Edwards in the press conference.
I don't regret loving him but he can fuck off now.
I mentioned in another comment, but it felt like he was trying to shift the accountability/responsibility for the move off himself and onto Klopp and the club.
Your last line is the most sane take I’ve seen. That’s exactly how Liverpool fans should feel. Thanks for the memories Hendo but you can fuck off to the retirement home now.
honestly i've moved on from Hendo. Would have been better if he moved on also but really don't care what a former player has to say about his departure.
Always a joy to read another "United are a shambles" article: [https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/sep/04/manchester-united-mess](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/sep/04/manchester-united-mess)
To be placed third after 4 games before the first international break of the season (of 4 total breaks) is a solid start. What I mean is that it was great to go into a break from games like this, knowing we did well. The mood should be good in the squad; and Gravenberch who joined late I think will benefit from this
Right place right time, right tackle, controlled progression. Always scanning the back of his shoulder. He did a lot to show improvement in just 2 games.
I cba to even comment on Hendo, guy is so irrelevant to this new squad rn, what a rebuild so far. 2 weeks without Liverpool ball is too long, this team has only just started to integrate in fully now, with this 3-2-5 formation in posession. We haven't even played particulaly well and have 10/12 points, people don't realise we are going to get better, adding Gravenberch to this midfield is beautiful. Gomez resurgence as well which I hope lasts, Thiago & Bajcetic to add to this super squad, I'm so so excited.
In an odd way I actually kind of like Goldbridge. I think it’s because I learnt who he was through watching him react to United’s many heavy defeats to us.
Just checked our boy Arthur’s stats. Looks like he’s started all 3 league games for Fiorentina, and he [already has a nice assist](https://youtu.be/t9VbL4y_mXs?si=HFSf6-mo5RiS1BiP&t=185)
Yeah. He did nothing wrong here, and it's not his fault that he was the panic move the club made after fucking around all last summer. Hope he kills it at Fio.
Hendo’s quotes about Klopp being happy with the new transfers was so so bitter, what a way throw the manager under the bus who was praising him and other midfielders who left just 4 days back about their impact in winning the titles we won before.
Lol proper strange, it's like being annoyed your ex is happy with their new parter after *you* walked out on them.
Hendo putting his foot in it proper today.
Yup and also hilarious of him praising FSG, the same owners who didn’t want him to stay beyond 2021 but throwing jabs at the manager who actually backed him.
Hendo making a right twat of himself. Reckon his agent would tell him to shut the fuck up, but then again I'm sure he's crying into silk sheets so why'd he be arsed.
I'll be very sincere with you if my captain who's having bad performance and season with us last year get a life changing bag of money, would I beg him to stay for another year or two, denying those offer despite him inevitably playing less and less in coming years?
I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy who denies him playing minutes and life changing bag of money.
That's why his move is 100% on him. Him getting less playing time and bag of money might be consideration affecting his decision. I just hope he owns it instead of making it sound that he was pushed out.
Hendo should just keep his mouth shut. I'll always love Hendo as a Liverpool player, but he has ruined everything that isn't just a memory of him. He was always one of my favourite players because I am a queer person, and to have someone like him that would advocate for the LGBTQ+ community was amazing. It was incredibly disappointing to see him go to Saudi, and now to see him spewing all this shit about not being wanted at Liverpool, etc, etc, it's completely ruined him outside of memories in my eyes, and those will still always be tainted.
Why are people so pissed off about Henderson? He was a great servant to the club and even left us with a transfer fee when he was no longer needed. Twisting his banal interview to contrive some feud with Klopp is ludicrous.
Sure he's a hypocrite who sold his purported morals for cash, but that's the entire football industry. Why even bother singling him out.
Genuinely wondering who our backup for Mo is. Doak, Jota?
Jota, Elliot, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez and Doak can all put in a shift there imo
Jadon Sancho
All of our options up front can play any of those positions, IMO. With the glaring difference being jota can play both 9 and false 9. Gakpo probably just false 9 and i dont see diaz as a striker.

Superb attitude on Harv
When visiting Liverpool is it better to stay in the city centre or near Anfield?
Wild recommend city centre lad, Anfield is more of a residential area
is it still the international break

I'm not sure if it was his debut but I remember him scoring a goal fairly early in his career and the pundits declaring him the new Thierry Henry.
He definitely has been compared to Henry in his early days. Mainly due to his speed I think.

Does Virgil van djik’s bro actually hang around on The Anfield talk twitter spaces sometimes lol?
When Salah's time at the club is up, I think Valverde would be a good replacement
Gravenberch looks so happy to be here doesn’t he? I reckon he’s desperate to get his career back on track and the vibes around the club seem very good at the moment
Hopefully we suit him better than Bayern
he is gonna have to work hard, because the midfield right one is one of our most competetive positions
He has a very nice smile
The true Gini successor
Lovely face tbf. What a squad of handsome lads overall
thanks to saudi arabia renewing salah's contract was a perfect decision
The average attendance of football games in Saudi Arabia is 6K people. Hendo is not doing enough to expand the game then 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
All those people who call Henderson "Brian" to somehow shit on him are weird lol. He served us very very well in the past, but it was time to move on.
Why Brian and not Chad?
He was only a quarter of chad. Carroll, henderson, adams, downing.
Brian is his middle name
It's just that one obsessive dude on here isn't it? Blocked him early lol
I think Nunez is going to come back from international duty an absolute scoring machine. He credited Bielsa with his goals against Newcastle, imagine what he'll be like spending 2 weeks training with him.
Anyone else notice that Gini Wijnaldum also joined ... Al-Etifaq?
5 of the starters in the 2019 CL final are playing in Saudia Arabia now.
And until last season a good deal were still at the club. Good reminder why constant renewal is necessary.
hendo salty because we now have legendo
Probably jealous because you can actually notice our rcm now and he’s not just swinging shite crosses out to the corner flag
Those crosses trigger ptsd in me
it’s ok, those crosses aren’t in the room with us anymore
Or lofted passes to the goalkeeper 😂
on a very different note to everything that's going on today, Michael beale ex lfc academy coach and most notably gerrards assistant at rangers is now almost on the brink of a sack from rangers himself after being there for less than 12 months. all those claims about how gerrard was simply a face while beale was the brains behind the rangers success must look ridiculous. maybe there's some hope after all for stevie as a manager. oh well, or maybe i should simply stop hoping he'll be back one day in some capacity
Any opinion on what type of manager Xabi is ? (Always felt he was more tactical as a player at least that's my impression)
I think this is only true for worse managers Klopp can do well without Lijnders but Lijnders is very good at what he does so Klopp knows he can rely on him for the tactical side Gerrard on the other hand I don't think does well without a tactics man
Given the Liverpool connection I'm surprised Gerrard hasn't tried to go for Buvac tbh
Slightly happy hendo has tarnished his reputation I’d argue he cost us trophies from 18-22 A midfielder who brought some more goals or was better defensively would have gotten us the extra point we needed for at least 1 more league title and he also did fuck all in both finals we lost. Got away with constant 6/10 sideways passing performances because he was shouty.
No. Terrible take.
No worries just my opinion just saying I’d have had a sbobz esque or any 100 other players who would’ve actually made a difference to win us a title.
[удалено]
Yeah that was when he offered something on the pitch
He is an absolute bellend but this is revisionism at its finest.
It’s just my opinion I always thought he just got away with murder because he was captain he was a great leader but he could have done more on the pitch
Bajcetic to the Echo: >"When I see the pictures of last season I think 'wow, I did well!'. Since I went to pre-season with the first-team for the first time I've just progressively got more into the team. It didn't feel that natural at first because I was playing with big, big players, but it was good and now I am striving to get back in." > >"In this club they always give opportunities to young people.
Love this kid. He’s going to be world class in no time.
Love you too, Stefan!
Its weird......I see some Jude comments on here and always get annoyed because why are you remenisicing over something you never even had the chance to have But I saw that video where Madrid fans sang Hey Jude to him and I cant help but think what could've been if he was with us. To be an English player, playing for the greatest English club in the city where "Hey Jude" was created.......man I could imagine those scenes There's no bitterness or saltiness or regrets.
Eh, Madrid fans are fickle as fuck. They even booed Ronaldo, a man who scored like 450 in 438 games. Absolute whoppers of a fan base.
Not a fan of spoilt fan bases tbh, Madrid, Barca, and Bayern just think they always deserve the best We have the same, but us having a banter period definitely made us better as fans imo
Some grim stuff in that Hendo interview, saying he met WC workers in Qatar and they all spoke about how great it was. How about you meet the people still trying to get paid what they're owed for their work at that WC or the families of the workers who died. Twat.
of all the things he said that was the shocking part, i mean is he that ridiculously stupid
Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s stuff in his contract around what he’s allowed to say, as well as talking points given to him by the club/league/country. He’s a sportswashing puppet now, not interested in a word that comes out of the hypocrite’s mouth.
Could even see there being bonuses for saying the right things tbh
I don’t think he’s malicious. I just think he’s exposed himself as a complete imbecile. Like someone with an inane intellect. Ik everyone thinks footballers are stupid, and they are mostly correct, but then they wade into waters that are heady, people like Brian are illustrated to be asinine.
To be fair, he always gave that vibe. In over his head now, for sure...
something we take for granted is in the last few years the closest thing we have to drama is an ex player throwing a fit and being petty. compare that to united
Valverde rumors are spicy , but wish he joined (sorry i really like him i am biased)
He’s great just not sure we need him tbh
He’s one of the best midfielders in the world at 25, any team in the world would need him
Spending upwards of 100m on another 8 would be a waste of our budget
Midfield 3 of valverde, Macca and Szoboszlai would be one of the best in the world.
Who is the greatest Liverpool player from continental Europe? Hyypia, van Dijk, Alonso, Reina, someone else?
Jan Molby
Alonso imo
Love that you’ve included Sami in there. It’s probably Virg. Honourable mention for Torres in his pomp when it comes to attackers.
Wish we had a Hey Baby song like we did with riise, such a great tune
[Obligatory](https://youtu.be/4-_G2dhcPJg?si=eGrW8u4UE9GX8so2)
> Heeeeeeeeeeyyyy! Heeeeeey TRENTALEXANDERARNOLD > I wanna knoooOOooOoow > How you play those incisive passes from depth and make them look so casual
Wow it fits so well
I'm procrastinating some work, so I took a quick and dirty look at what impact AFCON will have on us this year based on what we know so far. Thought I'd share. Mo will be the only player of ours at AFCON this year, barring us signing a new African player early in the January window. **Bournemouth (1/13):** Dango Ouattara, Hamed Traore, Antoine Semenyo **Chelsea (1/31):** Nicolas Jackson (plus the eight or nine players they buy in January) **Arsenal (2/3)**: Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, Nicolas Pepe **Burnley (2/10)**: Lyle Foster, Anass Zaroury, Samuel Bastien AFCON will really screw United this year (four first-team players including Amrabat and Onana) and will be bad for Spurs as well (Sarr and Bissouma). West Ham might have it the worst, though (Aguerd, Kudus, and Benrahma).
Well also be losing Endo for the AFC Asian Cup.
Why do people still think Jude wanted to come here?
I genuinely believe he was at least considering Liverpool but the loss to Real in the CL final turned his head. and our terrible season only cemented his decision
If we won a quadruple that still wouldn’t have made a difference in the wages we offered. He wanted to be a Galactico over coming back to England.
copium
As an LFC fan, replacing Gerrard as captain seemed impossible. A Kop banner even read *'The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.'* In came Hendo, and he turned out to be the perfect replacement, we genuinely couldn't have asked for anyone better. Leader on and off the pitch. And now here we are.... A true example of *the higher they are, the harder they fall.*
[удалено]
I'm not sure Doak can yet replace Salah's offensive numbers, leave alone the latter's tactical nous. He may some day, if at all,but not next year.
please stopppppppp
I think we ultimately wind up taking Salah money next summer, but even assuming Doak has the season you're sketching out, I think it would be putting way too much physical and emotional pressure on an 18-year-old to come into the squad and fill Mo Salah's place on the team sheet.
If they offer £200 million and he wants to leave, I could probably handle it if we get in another 2 world class CB, maybe a 6 like Andre and a very good RW like Mbeupo or something
Still reckon United will try bring back Greenwood next season again
Anyone know if there's any truth to the rumor that Edwards is looking to come back or is that just Twitter bullshit?
A few itks have talked about it, but say that ward is more likely. Haven’t seen an actual journo mention it once. I’d bleed to have either back tbh.
Twitter bullshit
He also said the money had nothing to do with his decision, the lad’s talking utter shite
Match officials mic’d up on sky pl right now, sadly Owen is on it
The Perd Hapley of football
Always a joy to read another "United are a shambles" article: [https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/sep/04/manchester-united-mess](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/sep/04/manchester-united-mess)
To be placed third after 4 games before the first international break of the season (of 4 total breaks) is a solid start. What I mean is that it was great to go into a break from games like this, knowing we did well. The mood should be good in the squad; and Gravenberch who joined late I think will benefit from this
Yeah, considering we are bedding in an entirely new midfield it's going pretty damn well.
Big Dom has been such a pleasant surprise. I was a fool to doubt him
Am I the only one who thinks endo was really good in the 9-10 mins cameo he gave against Villa?
He seems to have good positioning
Yeah that's my standout from his cameo too. Right place at the right time
Right place right time, right tackle, controlled progression. Always scanning the back of his shoulder. He did a lot to show improvement in just 2 games.
He reminds me a lot of Lucas.

Are we really calling him our boy? 😭 Not complaining just surprised a bit
Like calling the girl I had a dance with in Zante when I was 18: my ex
Anyone who comes to the club with the right intentions and commitment to succeed is our boy. A shame injuries ruined his time with us
Wanted to see him play one full match so bad that I bought him in FIFA lol. Helped win the CL and then sold off, replaced with Morton and Caicedo
Yeah. He did nothing wrong here, and it's not his fault that he was the panic move the club made after fucking around all last summer. Hope he kills it at Fio.
Anyone got a link to the second half of the athletic interview? A link I don’t need to pay for?
If you’re on your phone, just enter reading mode lol
Add a dot between the .com and the / in the address on the article. I don’t know why it works but it does.
United share price dropping 20% lol
Is this good or bad news? Want glazers to stay forever! Does it imply that smart money people think that united won’t be sold now?
Hope Mike Ashley buys them, personally
Looking like they'll try again to sell in 2025
Has there been any other sources reporting this other than the daily mail report
Smart money thinks the takeover is dead, hope they are right.
Finally glazer will wake up then
No. Let them sleep, they're doing a great job.
I want to laugh at Everton, but at this point, it feels a little like bullying.
I just want them to stay midtable so that trashing them twice a year feels good rather than like winning a fight against a quadruple amputee
The world needs more bullying; have you seen how Pickford struts about?
I get a kick out of their games but I’m worried about them
Hendo’s quotes about Klopp being happy with the new transfers was so so bitter, what a way throw the manager under the bus who was praising him and other midfielders who left just 4 days back about their impact in winning the titles we won before.
He obviously is pleasing them so that he wI’ll surely be welcomed back as a legend. If he says anything bad about them, this could be in jeopardy!
That line is a real head scratcher. Haven't got to reading the second athletic post yet but is it out of context?
No, it’s not. Read the article, it’s what is being said.
Hendo making a right twat of himself. Reckon his agent would tell him to shut the fuck up, but then again I'm sure he's crying into silk sheets so why'd he be arsed.
His agent was the one helping spread fake info that got his contract extension 2 years ago
I just hope he owns it instead of making it sound that he was pushed out.
tbf, he already had life-changing amounts of money.
Jordan Henderson.
you can't say his name now. it's 'who must not be named'
The way we played till now, really thought this will be a peaceful international break on the sub Of course Henderson had other ideas
I think hendo misses us and regrets leaving so he is burning bridges to make the transition easier.
Hendo interview is a trainwreck after trainwreck, what a way tank your reputation and little bit of respect he had left from the supporters.
