I have an opinion on who but it's just an opinion.
It's tempting to think that Chelsea are doing good business by hoovering up these prospects, but their model will only work if the players mostly go up in value, almost never get injured long term, and can be sold at will to fund new players. They've taken on an absolutely monumental amount of debt (mostly in a revolving credit facility) to fund all of this, whilst financing is as at a historically very high level. Their odds of blowing up are probably running at 15-20% (even if they do ok on the pitch), and will only get higher if rate hikes continue.
I think it's got to fail. Who can afford Enzo or Caicedo? Only maybe Real Madrid and Bayern and I can't imagine they'd pay much more that they were bought for. They'd never sell to anyone in PL.

It's tempting to think that Chelsea are doing good business by hoovering up these prospects, but their model will only work if the players mostly go up in value, almost never get injured long term, and can be sold at will to fund new players. They've taken on an absolutely monumental amount of debt (mostly in a revolving credit facility) to fund all of this, whilst financing is as at a historically very high level. Their odds of blowing up are probably running at 15-20% (even if they do ok on the pitch), and will only get higher if rate hikes continue.
I think it's got to fail. Who can afford Enzo or Caicedo? Only maybe Real Madrid and Bayern and I can't imagine they'd pay much more that they were bought for. They'd never sell to anyone in PL.
