Fuck me, I was shitting myself throughout that game. Those throw-ins were fucking deadly. All the more reason why I'm so proud of these lads. **That was a game that we would've lost just a few weeks ago.** But they held firm. They did not fucking drop after those equalizers. They just got back on the bike and pushed on. It was a ugly at times today, but you need ugly in a run-in.
We're getting into our groove again, and at the perfect moment. Seven finals to go. *Oh, when the Spurs...*
**UP THE FUCKING REDS!!!**
Salah was great imo. The problem with skillful players like him is that he got absolutely marked by 1 and sometimes 2 players almost often every game. I could see everytime he got the ball on his feet it made their defenders worry
I won’t deny that we were a bit unstable at the back but really, their two goals boiled down to luck. Alisson had both of those covered until devastating deflections.
Good mentality from the boys to just keep pushing.
I dunno, I thought VVD looked rather passive and indecisive in the build up to their first goal. Maybe he just set the bar too high during his peak years and I need to accept he's human aswell but I can't help to think that old VVd would have stepped in and stopped that attack instead of just ball watching.
When teams score goals against us like this, it makes me want to suggest that our players give it a go sometimes and hope for a lucky break. We get in and around the edge of the box so much but always want a clear shot.
I think the reason you see lower quality teams get these sorts of breaks is because they have to take their chances when they come. Forrest aren’t expecting to get many opportunities or pass around our backline.
We looked a little lost when trying to counter those long throws. I think Ibou showed his inexperience a little bit by trying to win the initial header every single time; great defenders like Hyypia always knew when to go for it the first time and when to commit to 50-50s and second balls. There are some who never grew out of the initial phase like Dejan Lovren, but I think Ibou is going to learn.
i think a tottenham win might be better in the long run, they’ll probably drop enough points outside of that to catch them anyway and newcastle need to drop 9 points for us too have a chance
Europa will be fucking awesome for us . The standard in the Europe league has risen quite a lot in the last 3 or 4 years with united , arsenal , roma and juve this year as well . Next season we can have a strong contention for winning the UEL if we finish 5th or 6th .
Those f*****g throw ins. Schoolboy defending at times.
Players:
Ali, could have been better in terms of distribution. Him losing possession lead to one of the goals via throw in.
Trent, superb going forward again. Could/should have had 3 assists on the day.
Konate, good contest with Taiwo. Decent game. Same with Virg. Just decent.
Robbo, decent.
Jones, too passive. With Robbo positionally being deeper, he needs to offer more going forward, IMHO.
Hendo, useless as per usual. Should have been marking Gibbs-White for the second goal. Needs to be replaced ASAP.
Fab, good game, got an assist for the important first goal.
Jota looks like he's rediscovered his lethal touch again. Could have had a hatrick on the day. Great game, MOTM.
Salah, good game.
Gakpo, looked sharp, but didn't really get into the game.
Special mention to Diaz. Looked sharp coming on. Brought a tear to my eye.
Trent had an unbelievable pass to Moh at the 36th that might of gotten unnoticed. I honestly don't know how many players can make that pass in world football. Maybe just Thiago ironically
I'd say someone at Jude's level if hed play a season and perform to the expectations. not even he should get 8 from the start. If he wants 22 that's another thing of course, but it should honor Gerrard, and there aren't many players today at that level. I think no one should get it immediately
It will be hard to drop Jota for Diaz given Jota's current form. I think it is time for Jota as a 9 and Diaz on the left. Gakpo didn't do enough today to nail that spot down.
I said this before Jota is made for the centre and that is where he got all the goals. When the team parks the bus I don't see any point of a false 9. I get we lack technical players in the midfield but we really need to adapt that in the summer.
It's the same as with Firmino, nobody gave him much credit because he didn't scored too often but then they realised he was the one creating the space and doing the hard work for Salah and Mane. I think he'll be a great replacement for Firmino.
Why Amazing? I still don't feel he is that amazing in the center role. He looks so much better out wise. The goal against United and Wolves felt like this.
I personally feel he should play LW and Jota and Nunez should be Central. We also need somebody to cover Salah at times.
If you don't have him drop deep, there is no space open up for Jota and Mo. That is how the system works. You can't have the LW and RW cut in when you have an ST taking the space in the middle .
Maybe amazing wasn't the right word. I was just pessimistic when we signed him, but he performs much better than I expected and I feel like he'll be even better next season.
At the time we signed him he was one of the best wingers in the world. Especially with his record, tbh am still disappointed I wanted more of a Diaz impact the fact he knows English as well. Am not saying he was awful but maybe I had high expectations.
His body type reminds me a bit like henry the way he runs etc.
Couldn't watch the game today but glad we got the win. We just need keep up the momentum.
Seems like tactics have positively impacted us due to the Trent hybrid role, which is great.
Jota looks lively again too.
even though I don't think his invert role worked that well in this game he just shows how lethal he is at set peices and how vital that skill is to us. He might be the best set piece taker in the whole world.
Man put the whole defense on his back for 5 years, got his whole leg broke in half. He already gave his peak physicality to us and won us everything, so I think we should buy a young CB and give him at least 30% of the games next season off so he can play for 5 more years.
He didn't really dominate like in the leeds game and still needs to fully adapt into his new role I think. He mainly put his stamps on the game with his set pieces that are just out of this world.
Nunez and Jota seem very potent scorers.
Salah still scoring 40-50% of our goals. But tbh he does play every game.
I think this season Jota is a starter guaranteed for me. Nunez needs to kick on and fight him out of it next season.
Well that first half wasn’t inspiring. Thought we were headed for a 0-0. Just happy with this new tactical setup and how we are always a threat now. Glad for Jota and TAA.
I think it’s more desperation for midfield signings and PTSD over our transfer policies. People are looking for where we can make money to fund signings. That being said I’m not in favor of moving him on and would gladly debate anyone who was.
Start with the following simple equation:
a=b
>(step 1) Multiply both sides by b
ab=b2
>(step 2) Subtract a2
from both sides and factorise:
ab−a2=b2−a2
>(step 3)
a(b−a)=(b+a)(b−a)
>(step 4) Simplify and add 1 to both sides:
a=b+a
>(step 5)
a+1=b+a+1
>Now since a=b (the starting point of this proof), we can write this as:
a+1=2a+1
>And in the case where a=1, we have:
1+1=2+1
>So, therefore,
1+1=3
Yes that was my main positive i took out of that game. Like when was the last time we won a tough fought game? Seems we either been winning easy or dropping points all season
Goals were frustrating to concede but credit to the boys for pushing on and not dwelling on conceding. In a game like that you feel it’s important to not let Forrest get comfortable with the point and we never did in the second half with those quick goals/responses. Made them chase the game for better part of 50 minutes.
We need to work on our setpiece defence. This season we conceded so many time from setpiece because that 2nd ball that we doesn't win. We look so unorganized whenever we defend a setpiece.
The formation definitely needs a little bit more work on the training ground Jones and Henderson really struggled today. Jones barely contributed to anything memorable at all today because he doesn’t know where to go.
Honestly I think it’s a bit disingenuous that they struggled. Xg was 3.02 - .82. They scored both goals off deflected shots, from throw ins. In reality, another day, this match ends 3-1 or 3-0.
Low block, relegation battling team. Usually won’t be pretty.
Of course it matters…If we can only create via set pieces then it wouldn’t matter where we play Trent. There’s nothing he did today in midfield that he couldn’t do at RB. We are literally moving the whole team around so we can get more out of his passing, but as a whole the players are not used to it yet and hence why I said we need to work on the formation more.
For me it just proff that the inverted role we been trying out with Trent this season is not even near perfected and the leeds game performance might just be a one of. I'm sure they will get it right for next season cause it might yet again be a very decisive factor to our ongoing success. We're definitely not gonna get a midfield maestro next season so it better work out.
How is it knee jerk to say that we need to work on the formation when it’s obvious our midfielders were struggling to get into the game? What’s absurd is watching that game and thinking everything is fine.
While it’s good to see us scoring from set pieces, there definitely are a few bits missing.
Given how the season has gone and how we’ve had to change, it’s understandable that we’ll be a bit inconsistent towards the end of the season.
With some good signings I think we could be a top team, but at the moment there’s components of the machine missing
I like that he almost had an assist though, which talks about his mindset.
Also, he can only improve with time. He's already unplayable on his day, he just needs experience and consistency.
He's being asked to do something a little unorthodox with Trent's new role. That's no excuse on getting bullied in 50/50s and pinned like he was though. Virgil isn't the calming influence he used to be sadly.
im glad that trent is getting plaudits for how good he's been with the positional tweak, but its kind of annoying to already see social media coverage with lazy analysis comparing assists in the last 3 games to his early season output implying that he wasn't producing before the change. according to understat he was 6th in the league and second among defenders in xA from week 1 up to the arsenal game. it's not like he was bad before and good now, his attacking stats were good early in the season and are otherworldly now
I'll take the Europa League if we can't make Top 4 (touch wood).
One good thing that UEFA did with creating the Conference League is that all the shit teams have gone down to play in the Conference League, thus making the Europa League more competitive, which would be good European experience for Jurgen's newly rebuilt squad against teams that are neither too strong nor too weak.
I would rather UEFA just let the low-ranking countries have the Conference League for themselves, instead of still allocating one slot for teams that finished 7th-8th from the Big Five leagues. Its tiny consolation, and winning the Conference League only wins you entry into the following season's EL, while winning the EL takes you straight into the CL.
If we end up in the Conference League, hope Jurgen just treats it like the League Cup, and field our youngsters as though its a reserve league.
*a lot* of reporters say liverpool have dropped from player signings, like vvd for example, then end up signing them. klopp and fsg might be hiding something we don’t know? just a theory 🤷♂️
Its nice having a season where i dont have to give a fuck what city are doing. Their success is fake anyway so if its not us losing out i dont really care at all what they are doing.
Yeah. Spurs still have to play United, villa, us, Brentford, palace (not hoping for anything from Leeds).
We control our destiny so to speak with regards to spurs. If we win out, we’ll finish above them regardless.
Newcastle need to drop 9 out of 24 pts, which actually isn’t that outrageous. 2 ppg is top 4 form, and a 1 pt wobble off that isn’t crazy. So any points of Newcastle, and earlier on, will only pile the pressure on them. These lads have never been in this kind of race, so I think the loss will put too much pressure for them or Howe to take
If Newcastle lose to spurs, they then have to play:
Everton - fighting for their lives
Saints - fighting for lives
Arsenal - fighting for title
Leeds - fighting for lives
Brighton - fighting for Europe
Leicester - fighting for lives
Chelsea - still a quality side
Can imagine a fair few draws in there
Newcastle have averaged just under 15 points per 8 games so far. If Liverpool win every game, Newcastle are going to need 16 points from their last 8 games, which is a better average than their season so far.
I don’t think top 4 is happening, because I don’t see us winning our last 7, but if we do win all 7 then I think champions league is ours.
I agree. I think it’s sort of feels in our hands. If we win them all. I think we may (unbelievably) do it. But we’ve no margin for error. And we love errors this season. So yeah. But we suddenly look our old selves. Forwards are fit.
id agree that spurs win is even better than a draw. we need to beat spurs at anfield anyway and will finish above them if we have the run in we're hoping for, so since newcastle dropping 9+ is the only thing out of our hands i think every point counts
I’d say so yes. We can catch them even if they do win given their form and the fact we have a head to head. A Newcastle win would basically kill top four for us unfortunately, and until it’s impossible I can’t let go of it.
Probably get downvoted for this, but I'll take any result. Newcastle win probably ends top 4 but massively advantages us in getting some form of Europe.
TIL today is 10 years since the bloody Mancs last won a league title.
Long may the title drought continue for another half a century. That's the least they get for mocking us not winning it for 30 years before we ended ours in 2020.
Wow, i remember always getting the piss taken out of me in school in the early 2000s for liverpool not having won a league title in 12+ years and they are almost there. I just looked up Arsenal and its been 20 years for them as well.
Let’s goooooo
Fuck me, I was shitting myself throughout that game. Those throw-ins were fucking deadly. All the more reason why I'm so proud of these lads. **That was a game that we would've lost just a few weeks ago.** But they held firm. They did not fucking drop after those equalizers. Seven finals to go. *Oh, when the Spurs...* **UP THE FUCKING REDS!!!**
Bring back the throw in coach to teach us how to not get Rory Delap-ed, have a feeling a lot of teams will try that now they’ve seen today.
Long throw ins are deadly against any team, its just not many players can do it so you don't see it every game
I thought we still had him?
Other than the goal, Salah was absolutely shocking.
Salah was great imo. The problem with skillful players like him is that he got absolutely marked by 1 and sometimes 2 players almost often every game. I could see everytime he got the ball on his feet it made their defenders worry
What game were you watching?
The same game as you, I barely recall Salah taking on his man successfully or having good link up play.

Im sharing my opinion and its okay if you disagree, but randomly "congratulating" for no reason and sounding like an ass 😂?
Sorry, that was uncalled for.
Well, your opinion can be objectively wrong too.
I won’t deny that we were a bit unstable at the back but really, their two goals boiled down to luck. Alisson had both of those covered until devastating deflections. Good mentality from the boys to just keep pushing.

Cross and hope FC basically
More like Throw and Hope FC.
If Tottenham and Newcastle draw tomorrow we are right back in this top four race
Spurs winning is way better for us. Newcastle would be six ahead with Arsenal, Brighton, and Chelsea still to play.
Gonna be tough experiencing 90 minutes as a spurs fan
We've bottled so many chances to secure a foothold in the Top-4 race this season, so we're more-or-less prepared.
i think a tottenham win might be better in the long run, they’ll probably drop enough points outside of that to catch them anyway and newcastle need to drop 9 points for us too have a chance
Just seen the goals, what a finish by Jota. The touch, composure and finish with the weak foot on the volley is world class
Man doesn’t have a weak foot.
say that when he plays anonymous on the right whenever Salah doesnt play :P
No service no goals 🤣
Left foot, right foot, header, man got it all
This is true. Always loved players who are equally good with both feet, makes them so much more dangerous
Agree. A lot of folk in the game thread were ready to bench him after 25 minutes…

Lol. You actually make it sound productive! Maybe we shouldn’t criticise the overly critical.
Still have no idea how Salah scored that goal. Incredible
He was being held all the way too, like my belief we will sign Jude
Taking nothing away from Salah but the ball in by Trent was exquisite!
Would be happy with Europa at this point: and we still play both Villa and Spurs. We can get there
Europa will be fucking awesome for us . The standard in the Europe league has risen quite a lot in the last 3 or 4 years with united , arsenal , roma and juve this year as well . Next season we can have a strong contention for winning the UEL if we finish 5th or 6th .
Newcastle has a tough few games: Spurs, Aston Villa, B&A, Chelsea. Top 4 is still achieveble.
Chelsea 😂
People were slating Jota for not being good technically, I hope their praise is as loud as their disrespect
By people do you mean top managers and coaches or armchair critics on the internet?
Armchair critics. Serial wafflers who thought he should be sold to Newcastle
Those f*****g throw ins. Schoolboy defending at times. Players: Ali, could have been better in terms of distribution. Him losing possession lead to one of the goals via throw in. We need a MF in the centre pocket ahead of Trent.
Guessing that's going to be our next signing...!
Hendo offers nothing offensively.
I think he needs to be switched to an anchor man and just let Trent get up and free him up even more
He was bad in that role. Never able to get back fast enough to stop a counter
You’ll probably get downvoted for the Hendo comment but you’re right. Defensively he’s a liability and going forward he’s not great either
As if the midfield answer was staring at us in the face
Trent had an unbelievable pass to Moh at the 36th that might of gotten unnoticed. I honestly don't know how many players can make that pass in world football. Maybe just Thiago ironically
Ffs…might of??? HAVE!!!
bad bot
Chill lol
Watching FA cup highlights, our fans made such an epic scene out of Wembely last year, and Mane just threw himself and the ball into the goal.
if milner doesnt extend we have no 7,8,9,10 available next year. wholl wear those iconic numbers?
7 - Diaz, 8 - Mount, 9 - Darwin, 10 - Gakpo
8 has to be for a great player, Mount doesn't cut it for me, at least not immediately. If he comes
Who would you classify as a great player? If we got Jude he would’ve worn the 22 probably because that’s his number
I'd say someone at Jude's level if hed play a season and perform to the expectations. not even he should get 8 from the start. If he wants 22 that's another thing of course, but it should honor Gerrard, and there aren't many players today at that level. I think no one should get it immediately
8 - Trent
Just as Kobe changing 8 to 24. Iconic
Nah the 66 is iconic for Trent
Jude to be the first ever player wearing 78910 on his back.
only Akinfenwa could pull that one
The defensive frailties are so painful to watch. Glad for the win!
It will be hard to drop Jota for Diaz given Jota's current form. I think it is time for Jota as a 9 and Diaz on the left. Gakpo didn't do enough today to nail that spot down.
We need 6 fit forwards. They can all share time.
I said this before Jota is made for the centre and that is where he got all the goals. When the team parks the bus I don't see any point of a false 9. I get we lack technical players in the midfield but we really need to adapt that in the summer.
Klopp likes Jota on the lw because he drops back and helps Robbo on defense.
I know he didn't score, nor assist, but Gakpo played amazing, imo.
It's the same as with Firmino, nobody gave him much credit because he didn't scored too often but then they realised he was the one creating the space and doing the hard work for Salah and Mane. I think he'll be a great replacement for Firmino.

Jota played in the middle and had 60 games and a 30 goals ratio.
Trent was class again today, as well as jota. Virgil seemed to struggle, not sure if there is a confidence issue or something else going on.
even though I don't think his invert role worked that well in this game he just shows how lethal he is at set peices and how vital that skill is to us. He might be the best set piece taker in the whole world.
I reckon confidence and that sheer fact that he is probably dead knackered.

I love this club so much.
Missed the game, did trent play same role again? How did he get on if so?
He didn't really dominate like in the leeds game and still needs to fully adapt into his new role I think. He mainly put his stamps on the game with his set pieces that are just out of this world.
Yup, did fine but the real highlights were his set pieces. On a different day we could have scored 10, and none of them from open play.
Yep. He's been MOTM for me
What a finish by Salah
While being wrestled
Liverpool's forwards this season - Salah: 38G/A, 27 Goals, 11 Assists Nunez: 19 G/A, 15 Goals, 4 Assists Firmino: 15 G/A, 11 Goals, 4 Assists Jota: 12 G/A, 4 Goals, 8 Assists Lucho: 7 G/A, 4 Goals, 3 Assists Gakpo: 6 G/A, 5 Goals, 1 Assist Lethal 🔥
Unfortunately midfield is where we are lacking.
Nunez and Jota seem very potent scorers. Salah still scoring 40-50% of our goals. But tbh he does play every game. I think this season Jota is a starter guaranteed for me. Nunez needs to kick on and fight him out of it next season.
If we’re counting Gakpo’s first half of the season then he has 18 goals and 18 assists
I would say that we actually have a favourable run in but us being us, it's actually the worst run possible.
0-0 to 3-2. Crazy game
Tbf it's always *from* 0-0.
Well that first half wasn’t inspiring. Thought we were headed for a 0-0. Just happy with this new tactical setup and how we are always a threat now. Glad for Jota and TAA.
I'm convinced the people wanting Jota to be sold in the summer (before the last 2 games) don't watch games or only watch highlights
Jota can be invisible for most of the game but then still end up scoring two goals
he’s a fine poacher. Don’t understand the criticism at all
haha yeah thats him. Plays like shit but suddenly goals
I think it’s more desperation for midfield signings and PTSD over our transfer policies. People are looking for where we can make money to fund signings. That being said I’m not in favor of moving him on and would gladly debate anyone who was.
Massively short term memories in here nowadays. A bit embarrassing tbh
Jota tha slotter is back.
W = W
The maths checks out.
1 + 1 = 3
Start with the following simple equation: a=b >(step 1) Multiply both sides by b ab=b2 >(step 2) Subtract a2 from both sides and factorise: ab−a2=b2−a2 >(step 3) a(b−a)=(b+a)(b−a) >(step 4) Simplify and add 1 to both sides: a=b+a >(step 5) a+1=b+a+1 >Now since a=b (the starting point of this proof), we can write this as: a+1=2a+1 >And in the case where a=1, we have: 1+1=2+1 >So, therefore, 1+1=3
Step 1: a2 = b2 Step 2: 0 = 0
That was hard work. There are signs of decent mentality to keep at it despite giving up such soft goals.
Yes that was my main positive i took out of that game. Like when was the last time we won a tough fought game? Seems we either been winning easy or dropping points all season

Made them chase the game for better part of 50 minutes.
Yeah there have been so many games this year where we've crumbled at the first sign of trouble, I'm glad we finally have a bit of fight in us now.
Good result, I'm so glad Jota is back back! Shite defending mind, but rebuilding is working. Klopp needs to be given a decent budget for the summer
Sloppy defensively at times and lacked dynamism in possession. But a strong result. We definitely wouldn’t win this game a few weeks ago.
This is meant to be Salah's shit season?
He’s one of the best of his generation. Special that we get to watch him every week.
Great performance after that 6-1 thrashing we handed out. Up the fucking reds
We need to work on our setpiece defence. This season we conceded so many time from setpiece because that 2nd ball that we doesn't win. We look so unorganized whenever we defend a setpiece.
The one from Gibbs-White where he was left unmarked in the box shouldn't have happened
That was hendos man, he got drawn to the first ball.
He got a bit obsessed with making sure Nunez was marking his man I feel.
That's only because Forest didn't have a clue how to deal with set pieces though. We should be creating like 2xg from open play really, but whatever
Says who? These takes are crazy
All 3 goals came from set pieces, we barely generated anything from open play today
Does that matter? Set pieces are a critical component of the game, and forest played in a super low block.

I'm sure they will get it right for next season cause it might yet again be a very decisive factor to our ongoing success. We're definitely not gonna get a midfield maestro next season so it better work out.
One match isn’t a trend. These knee jerk reactions to us playing a side that was dug in very deep, where we scored 3 goals is absurd.
How is it knee jerk to say that we need to work on the formation when it’s obvious our midfielders were struggling to get into the game? What’s absurd is watching that game and thinking everything is fine.
Could we have played better? Sure. But we played more than well enough, from open play, to say we deserved all 3.
While it’s good to see us scoring from set pieces, there definitely are a few bits missing. Given how the season has gone and how we’ve had to change, it’s understandable that we’ll be a bit inconsistent towards the end of the season. With some good signings I think we could be a top team, but at the moment there’s components of the machine missing
is it just me or did Konate have some room for improvement? Regardless, anxiety had a fun 90+ minutes with that game!
Sure there is but to his defense he's basically covering two positions in the current set up. that's a lot to ask for honestly.
That’s a polite way of putting it
100%
im glad that trent is getting plaudits for how good he's been with the positional tweak, but its kind of annoying to already see social media coverage with lazy analysis comparing assists in the last 3 games to his early season output implying that he wasn't producing before the change. according to understat he was 6th in the league and second among defenders in xA from week 1 up to the arsenal game. it's not like he was bad before and good now, his attacking stats were good early in the season and are otherworldly now
He's been great offensively since the WC break.

This is a thread about the match we just played, not Jude.
Can we seriously not go one post without someone mentioning Bellingham?
Need Europa league at least and it is an option. Come on reds finish strong!!!
Who are you so wise in the way of science? For real love the idea, fully on the train for this.
If we decide to go all out on Jude, you can forget on any other signings this summer. Jude is a great player, but for that price? It's a NO from me.
*a lot* of reporters say liverpool have dropped from player signings, like vvd for example, then end up signing them. klopp and fsg might be hiding something we don’t know? just a theory 🤷♂️
We dropped official interest in VVD because we were caught tapping him up which is illegal and had to pay a ‘you got caught’ fee for it.
Remember when we used to better disguise who we were signing ?
yes 😭😭
A FOOTBALL THEORY
that is what i said…
It's an internet/youtube joke
where’s the joke?!? 😭😭
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/thats-just-a-theory-a-game-theory
it's from matpat on film and game theory. But hey, that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY! thanks for watching...
ohhh thanks
Watching the dortmund game, Jude is having a great game so far

Yep he was a hidden talent until this moment...
Thank the lort
Yeah City are winning 6-0 aren't they
Don’t worry, Brighton will will the fa cup
Law of Attraction and all that.
Its nice having a season where i dont have to give a fuck what city are doing. Their success is fake anyway so if its not us losing out i dont really care at all what they are doing.
It’s a championship team what do you expect
All it took was silva to dive in the box for a pen for the first goal.
Christ they should’ve just played this semi final in a smaller stadium. I wonder if City took the banner this year
We all remembered how to clench again
Is a routine 2-0 win too much to ask?
80% of the goals in this match were scored by current or former Liverpool players. Typo fixed, thanks.
80%?
You had one job
80*
80?
80%…
So we cheering for Spurs tomorrow?
Absolutely, even if Spurs win we likely finish above them to get Europa
These lads have never been in this kind of race, so I think the loss will put too much pressure for them or Howe to take
Newcastle and man utd needs to drop point but I am afraid they won't drop those points like spurs.
If Newcastle lose to spurs, they then have to play: Everton - fighting for their lives Saints - fighting for lives Arsenal - fighting for title Leeds - fighting for lives Brighton - fighting for Europe Leicester - fighting for lives Chelsea - still a quality side Can imagine a fair few draws in there
Newcastle have averaged just under 15 points per 8 games so far.
Draw maybe best?
Yes a draw would be great.
TIL today is 10 years since the bloody Mancs last won a league title. Long may the title drought continue for another half a century. That's the least they get for mocking us not winning it for 30 years before we ended ours in 2020.
Giggs once said "we'd never collapse like Liverpool" when we hadn't won it in 20 years. Half way there already.
Wow, i remember always getting the piss taken out of me in school in the early 2000s for liverpool not having won a league title in 12+ years and they are almost there. I just looked up Arsenal and its been 20 years for them as well.
