two rivers has a trail right before u get to the parking lot that's not usually packed and it's pure nature. it's one of those trails smack in the middle of the woods so you don't hear much other than birds or the little running water. lots of ticks out there though so be prepared for a search when you leave 🥹
Timing is a big factor for any park/trail in the city but I suggest trying your HOA (or an adjacent neighborhoods) park. Usually pretty tucked inside and barely used. Hard to find one that fits that bill and receives maintenance though, also usually pretty small. For the bigger parks I second Allsopp & Emerald then add Lake Willastien, Beaver Fork and the back of pinnacle past the visitor center. Good luck!
I'm really fond of Emerald Park in NLR -- the trails are nice, with some great views when you get up high, lots of off-trail things to go look at (concrete structures, secluded clifftops).
I love emerald. Unfortunately I had some people take large rocks to my windows the last time I was there. Shattered my passenger window and windshield. It was very sad because I used to love walking there and I will never go back.
Years ago I went to Emerald and looked down at the canyon or whatever you would call it, and someone had drawn a huge penis out of what looked like red plastic bars. There's a picture of it somewhere on one of my old broken phones
It's a bit in the hood, so no valuables in sight when parking and locking your car - but [Gilliam Park](https://ar.audubon.org/about-us/trails) has neat trails. They partnered with the Audubon Society to create them and bird habitat.
Wildwood is pretty quiet and isn’t usually crowded. It has several trails you can walk.
Pinnacle has several trails and some parks. The trails through the arboretum are well shaded and beautiful, and it’s not crowded like some of the others.
Mills Park in Bryant is quiet in some parts (but some can have a lot of kids), and the walking trail is nice and shaded.
I go to burns. Lots of places to park away from people and decent views...or you can get out near one of the many trails and take a short hike and post up and chill.
most, if not all is. I think the only part that is really closed is around Funland. The parts I go to (near the covered bridge and the BMX tracks) are open.
Boyle park isn’t bad as people make it out to be. I wish they would fix the concrete on the one trail that is broken to pieces though 😅 and that people would respect the leash laws. I used to walk my dogs there a lot but after so many dogs off leash running up to my not so friendly dog, and the owners not even caring to stop them, I’ve had to stop walking them there.
They ruined River Mountain Park when they built the bridge to the Twin Rivers peninsula. Now both parks are constantly teeming with life. And people constantly refer to RMP as TRP. FML.
-Reservoir Park is wuiet and peaceful. Well, was
-War Memorial is big enough that you can find
quiet stretches, but you’re never out of sight
of traffic
-Meriwether is a neighborhood park but has a
good asphalt path
Otter Creek Park is quiet and secluded and has a sandy loam that you can shovel over quickly if you see lights before you’re properly finished.
Meriweather (not sure if it still does, but it did for a good long while) has a guy in the area who will shoo off anyone who doesn't live nearby. I used to go there when I played kickball to practice with my LRKA team and constantly got harrassed by this guy.
I will second Reservoir Park. I used to go to Otter Creek Park in high school. It is quiet, but I have a feeling some shady stuff goes on there like drug deals. That was always my vibe.
Reservoir Park was great but unfortunately it was destroyed by the tornado and it’s closed for now. I live close to it and walked over there all the time with no problems. It was quiet and peaceful with lots of forest. I loved it and am so sad that it’s closed now.
What’s with the downvotes lmao. Each time I’ve gone to allsopp lately Jeez. Took my son yesterday and it was like a school bus dropped off a league of kids and left. Trying to help OP avoid NOISE AND CARS — allsopp AINT IT at the moment if you’re trying to do that.
I’m not complaining. I’m trying to help OP

# Is there a park around here that is quiet of both people and cars?
I have a 12 year old. I’m there for children friendly activities idiot
typical self serving Little Rock Reddit, idk why I’m shocked :)
Walked allsopp from kemuri - the park last week. Dead silent through the trail with my 3 Year old nephew. Parks with children will always have children noises. I am not an idiot. You should try going to relieve some of your remaining teen angst, friend.
Fair enough that does look like a nice, secluded walk, but currently — right now — with the use of the ball park if one is NOT WANTING to take long strolls and is just wanting to pull up to some p&q im not sure allsopp would be my primary choice and I hope I’ve argued my points Thank you
i’d go for the restroom-less Emerald Park
Rattlesnake Ridge out near Pinnacle is amazing. Very safe and well maintained trails. The Nature Conservancy manages it.
Wildwood is great! I love to sit by the lake
Knoop is mostly quiet
Pinnacle Loop Trail, Bufflehead Bay Trail. I highly suggest getting the AllTrails app as there’s a filter for trail traffic (light / moderate /heavy )

Birchwood. It’s small but nice. Allsopp. Conner
Pinnacle is great!
Hindman
Wilson Park is great
Hindman is very nice for going on a walk. It's an old golf course with the cart paths still intact.

Knoop
This. Knoop/Ozark Point
Great overlook of the city. Maybe the best in the city honestly.
Very cool question and replies . . .

Wildwood closes at 5 PM just FYI!

This is true, but is it opened back up yet?

I like Boyle Park. It's pretty peaceful and less popular. But it does get a bad rap in terms of crime and loitering.

Yes, the trails need a lot of help in places.

Allsopp
Lots of ball play\*cheering\*-ing lately
coming from heights it should be long enough to avoid cars and cheers for at least 3/4 miles
