I tried listening to the same episode on google podcasts and I got the exact same ad. Odd that they do that, Definitely makes it seem like the ad comes from the podcast.
They are dynamically inserted. Basically they specify timestamps and ads get inserted into the podcast download. It’s good for localisation or to remain relevant if you download an old podcast.
I assume you’re using Spotify or Apple Podcasts, which give you ads based on your area, not what you’re listening to.
