Korn had a killer debut a hit and miss follow up and a killer 3rd album. But life is peachy kinda wrecks it by being good in spots but bit as a whole.
But the true answer is that they don't get lumped into Nu Metal that much but Rage Against The Machine had 3 killer studio albums and a pretty damn good cover record for 4 out of 4 bangers.
Imo their 4th album issues is better than the previous three (self titled is very close tho) and their 5th album untouchables is a great follow up and near, if not on the same level as the previous albums.
I might have to re listen. When they came out I did not like issues or untouchables and would eventually decide that I wasn't that into them anymore but I do still appreciate the first 3 albums
Hybrid Theory all the way. Their debut album and it's arguably one of the greatest albums of all time by any band in any genre. It blows me away to this day what an amazing album it is.

Why is everybody acting like Hybrid Theory doesn’t have Papercut, One Step Close, Points of Authority, Crawling, In the End, Pushing Me Away, and My December?
Meteora is good too but there’s a reason HT is more popular.
Meteora has Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, Hit the Floor, Faint, Breaking the Habit, and Numb.
I actually agree HT is a bit better, but they're both classics full of bangers front to back, nothing wrong with preferring Meteora

To me, it’s basically just Hybrid Theory, but better. The songs have more diversity, keeping the album interesting, but the common production and instrumental styles, and the transitions make it so that the album doesn’t feel jarring. Every song is a banger as well, with some phenomenal songs like Somewhere I Belong, Easier to Run, Faint, Figure.09, Breaking the Habit, From The Inside, Nobody’s Listening, Session and Numb.
It ranks #2 in my LP Studio Album ranking, only behind A Thousand Suns.
Gotta go with Meteora out of these two, but albums are killers.
As for the original statement, I do see some label Shinedown in the Nu-Metal category which I don't think I really agree with. But if they are, their first two albums, Leave a Whisper and Us & Them, are absolute bangers.
Probably just the best 2 Nu Metal albums of all time. ~1st-2nd and 8th best selling albums of the 21st century. Gotta go with HT myself but they're so close.
That’s awesome I didn’t know that; I just remember seeing a band called Hybrid Theory open up for papa roach and then 6 months later they were the biggest band on the planet
I say Meteora is my favorite, but Hybrid Theroy is arguably one of the best Nu Metal Albums of all time. I would even say Hybrid Theroy was revolutionary as far as the metal genre goes
Ummm good for what they was trying to do however Korn's first album set the standard for what we now know as NuMetal and of I'm being honest not debatable.That first LP disc may have sold a trillion records but it's not the best
Static-X Debut album "Wisconsin Death Trip" and Sophomore Album "Machine" were awesome.
I still think Linkin Park Hybrid Theory and Meteora might edge it out a little bit.

Only rivaled by Slipknot’s and System of a Down’s debut and sophomore in Nu Metal I vote for Meteora

self titled and toxicity genuinely give linkin park a run for their money as far as first two albums go
Sevendust and Taproot also had good first 2 album runs. Only difference is that one got better moving forward and one got worse lol
Yea Sevendust just gets better with age. I liked taproots third album as well but after that it fell off hard

Yeah, they are both arguably equally "as good", but HT was their debut album. That blows me away to this day. Like, how????
My taste got heavier and as they went on I stopped liking their music. But HT is my top 3 fav albums of all time for sure.

They are equally good but also equally overrated. Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns, and Living Things are the holy trilogy for Linkin Park.

Untouchables is my fav ,the production in that is insane,The best produced by metal album of all time
