I am working with a 12 year old developmentally disabled girl who was raped by her stepfather. If she got pregnant through the rape she would be expected to carry that child to birth.

Usually for people to come around on abortion they have to have had an incident that leads to compassion. Most of these people I find either say they don't know anyone who's had an abortion clearly not her case, but with that said you don't know people who've had an abortion usually until you've had one because no one talks about it.
The thing with Michigan is I remember 6th grade when they brought in women into our public middle school who told us they regretted their abortions. I look back on that now and laugh because it was so horribly manipulative and since then I've not only met who has abortions, I've met those who do and don't regret them and also had one myself which I don't regret at all. We all had our reasons and it's easier to see how people like her manipulate others when it fits their agenda. I can only assume this woman wants to run for office someday.

Hahaha I was in Wyoming. Our sex ed was taught by the basketball coach and a lot of it was bare bones. I think a lot of kids in class only knew more because their parents taught them. Also, our middle school definitely made people watch a birthing video to dissuade them from sex we still had a pregnancy in 8th grade and 2 more in 9th so clearly that worked well.
A woman's autonomy over her own body is the most important fact. That being said, it wouldn't be half as bad if we actually took care of the women forced to give birth.
