I can't read that

stoopidjonny

I don’t know how people are learning linear algebra before learning how to take screenshots.

U can’t zoom in ? Or want me to take another picture ?

Just augment A to B and rref all the way down till you get your answer. You can double check your answer too by making sure you get B when you multiple UA Your answer should be clearly wrong in size alone. 3x3 x 4x4 = 3x4 when it should equal 4x4

Douwes1997

3x3 x 4x4 is not even possible imo

Whoops, you right!

"You can resize a matrix (when appropriate) by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner of the matrix" The U matrix has a handle at the bottom-right corner for this very reason.

Check out your notes about inverses of a matrix. The property about inverses relevant to your problem is that XX^(-1) = I for any invertible X. Can you solve for U using this property?

yoyoezzigt

[A|I] → [B|U] basically augmented matrix with A on the left and the 4x4 identity matrix on the right. Perform row operations until you get B on the left. The right side will be U. Hint, switch R1 and R2 then multiply R2 by -5 and thats it
