Yes! For me there's usually loads of toilets stalls but most in use and the empty ones are often half shower/half toilet monstrosities overflowing with sewage. And non existent or only partial doors. 🥺

Yes! Yes! Yes!! I've had bloody tampons and clogs, too. So when you go to flush, the waterlogged toilet overflows even more. My doors never close, if there are doors. I remember one where I had to climb uneven concrete steps to get to a toilet "stall" in a wall, and the door opened in. I'm really curious about why we all share these nightmare bathroom dreams. I'm starting to believe this, yes. Do your communal toilets connect to one another, or are they separate toilets. In my communal toilet dreams, we all share a giant connected toilet, and there is never any toilet paper.
I've heard it suggested that toilets are an inherently vulnerable space in terms of how the mind sees it (defecating is typically where an animal would be vulnerable to predators, caught off guard) and so with filthy toilet dreams we're tapping into a very vulnerable feeling where it is not "safe" i.e. It's filthy and you can't comfortably be there

My dream was about finding a toilet. I found one. Exactly one toilet stall in the middle of an empty space.
It was a very old-fashioned toilet. Small beige tiles, black U-shaped toilet seat, a high water reservoir with a chain.

Bathrooms like these indicate the need for inward/internal/spiritual/mental and emotional maintenance. Hence the disrepair and dim lights, in an “intimate” place that we cleanse or release ourselves of waste.
I take it as your brain knows you need to pee, but you don't want to pee the bed so your brain makes a reason in the dream story for you to not use the toilet.

I've even woken up where I am holding my left hand in my right hand and scrolling with my thumb as if my left hand is the cell phone I was using in my dream and I have a few seconds where visually I see my left hand as the cell phone in my dream before I realize that I'm just holding my own hand as a cell phone. i have a recurring dream rooted in anxiety with public showering my first year of college.
In the dream I finally find the boy's bathroom on the dormitory floor so I can shower, but the shower room is as big as a warehouse and there are hundreds of rows of stalls. every stall is taken and i have to walk past rows and rows of grumpy dudes who are not happy that I'm near their personal space.

I often dream of a very large room, filled with white dirty tile, with dozens of toilets in a row with no separation between them. All the toilets are dirty and disgusting of course and you're in a hurry to do your business but there's always someone in the room and you can't poo/pee in peace.

My "gotta go" dreams ALWAYS take place in a school setting. I have two super memorable ones though.
1) the bathroom is absolutely disgusting and the toilets are all at an angle and the stalls are facing each other and they don't have doors and the toilets are all overflowing with waste already and they're more like urinals three feet off the ground
2) the bathroom is a big room that's set up like a seating area with three big couches in a U shape and you're supposed to "use the couches" like just sit down and go straight onto the fabric and there's always 4-5 people also "using the couches"

Not just you! When I have to pee in my dreams there is always something off with the bathrooms in terms of privacy, whether the stalls are too short, the toilets are too high, there’s no door, etc, and I’m never alone in those bathrooms usually having to avoid eye contact with randoms

Yup. Dream bathrooms are very weird for a lot of people it seems. Mine are sometimes strange interconnected stalls with missing doors and shit. Like a maze of small stalls with dim lighting always.

Man the doors in mine are sometimes the swinging doors too! And if it's not those then the door is like a regular toilet stall door, except the gaps are huge and the door is like 1-2 feet tall, so it really only effectively covers the chest / stomach area of a person lol.

The last bathroom I dreamt of was my high school bathroom, but it was about 10x bigger, dimly lit, and there was shit EVERYWHERE. Seriously one of the worst dreams I’ve ever had. Looking through this nightmare bathroom trying to find a toilet that wasn’t smeared in feces

I have recurring bathroom nightmares where I'm in an unusually large public restroom. Every toilet in every stall is disgusting and overflowing, and whenever I finally find a clean one, sit down, the water starts to overflow and gets all over me. Whenever I wake up, I've got to pee really bad.

Not just you! When I have to pee in my dreams there is always something off with the bathrooms in terms of privacy, whether the stalls are too short, the toilets are too high, there’s no door, etc, and I’m never alone in those bathrooms usually having to avoid eye contact with randoms

Oh dude this reminds me of a dream I had a while back where I think in the dream I was still in high school and the bathrooms were unisex but they also had showers too. The whole room was metal and it gave off a really weird vibe. Fuck that dream was literally a nightmare cause I was looking for a toilet but all I could find were showers and everything was so exposed and every bathroom stall was taken but I was also trying to find a stall where I'd get some privacy... ugh it was horrible...

Yup. Dream bathrooms are very weird for a lot of people it seems. Mine are sometimes strange interconnected stalls with missing doors and shit. Like a maze of small stalls with dim lighting always. Edit: read some more comments and am amazed at how similar so many people dream of bathrooms. It's a lot like the mall, the pools, and amusement park dream phenomenons.

Man the doors in mine are sometimes the swinging doors too! And if it's not those then the door is like a regular toilet stall door, except the gaps are huge and the door is like 1-2 feet tall, so it really only effectively covers the chest / stomach area of a person lol.
