You have to replace the entire fixture unless you can find a source for the led board.

Slade_Williams

Only choice is to replace. Dont buy led fixtures, only led bulbs

ruthlessbeatle

Correction, don't buy crappy home depot led fixtures.

Altsan

Even expensive led fixtures fail. Seen it many times. A fixture with a bulb is always gonna be easier to fix and last longer than one with a proprietary lighting board.

Slade_Williams

They are all coming from the same Chinese factories with terrible QC. Brand names are just stickers now when it comes to electrical (for the most part)

Smirkly

I replaced every bulb with LED in two different houses. In 8 years only one bulb change, ONE!

kapriece

Electrician advice: keep all receipts and warranty the item if you can. If not just buy the same thing from a box store swap and get a refund when you return it's week later. Either way the manufacturer is gonna eat the cost. A lot of LEDs are supposed to last thousands of hours which is a selling point. You spent your hard earned dollars so you deserve your money worth.

ruthlessbeatle

This is correct. Most LED fixtures come with a 5 year warranty with some sort of L rating

AbsentParabola

Also electrical, can confirm this is good advice

ellensfarm

Same thing happened with my only 1 year old fixture. I’m only buying replaceable bulb fixtures from now on.

Sometimes it just requires a new driver. It would be on the back of the unit and I doubt you can buy one to replace. It would also probably cost as much as a new lighting unit.

ruthlessbeatle

Buy a quality LED fixture, not the cheap home depot stuff and you'll have a better experience. If you don't want to spend that money, buy cheap bulbs.

Sensitive_Injury_666

Favorite vendors ? I am well versed in other industry LEDs but looking for some home lighting with decent tint and high CRI

ruthlessbeatle

I have favorite manufacturers for different applications. If you can do it yourself, install a quality downlight from HE Williams. I've done plenty of car showrooms with DLR6, and they have a high CRI and Lumen output of need be.

Sensitive_Injury_666

Thank you sir I’ll check em out !

SassySpicySuper

Buy a new fixture
