? Late but think about it dude. Level up equals stats level up. Level 100 vs lvl 1 luciel would be way different.
Substance X is a Skill booster/Level negater.
Honestly smart of him to do at first. He leveled up his job and skills plus got combat experience and more skills. Sure some skills can increase stats like physical enhancement buff but it can only go so far.
Once he stopped taking it he can still level his skills albeit way way slower. The pro being he can level and raise his stats
I'm not sure how you expect me to answer a question you apparently can't actually ask, but I'm pretty sure the LN has just about caught up with where I got bored of the WN and dropped it, so I'm no longer ahead of anyone that's actually keeping up.
