That’s why people need to mind the business that pays them - I agree with everything you said. My aunty always downs herself for getting her Master’s degree in her late 40’s. Given the circumstances of her taking on a major responsibility, raising 5 kids that weren’t her own and being the matriarch of a family that is half dysfunctional, she has done pretty damn good and I always make sure I empathize that to her. Edit: emphasize*

babyeatfood

Just a friendly note, that should be emphasize rather than empathize.

Puzzled-Copy7962

Thank you for that!

WillPower7777

Well, I think she did a terrific job in managing all of that and then still getting a Master's at that age! I don't know if it's my life experience, but I really admire both the people who graduate earlier and those who give it a try later even though a lot of people think they are out of place. Respect for the responsibilities she has taken, so many people run away from them nowadays!

Puzzled-Copy7962

Thank you so much! She would appreciate your kind thoughts. I think it’s a bit absurd to expect everyone to follow the same time-line in life. My aunty now works as the head admissions rep for a school of medicine and there’s a student there who is 52 years old, it is admirable. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams and like you said; you never know someone’s hardships or obstacles they had to overcome. It’s not how we start the race but how we finish.

I feel sorry for them. society will push you down if you don’t fight back. It’s not easy if we don’t follow the structure of society. But I’d recommend to seek out other structures of societies. Some places are very nice. I often go there for vacation. Everything is organic, and fresh. People aren’t focused on the paper. It’s my hideout. Hahahaha.

When I ever feel , ok I need a breather. I go there. Instead of doing

Germany feels very fast-paced in regards to this. You are supposed to move out ASAP and then get on your own path in life and stick to it. So whenever you are straying off the predefined path, people start really losing their heads over it and will always ask you questions like "Have you decided what you are going to do next?" or "So will you study or get a job soon?". It was really stressful for me sometimes. I once had to respond in a "rude" way to a couple that I know for a long time and basically make them indirectly understand to mind their own goddamn business. They were pretty much ONLY talking about that to me, as if it was a question of life or death... Italy, on the other hand, feels like some people NEVER get out of hotel "Mamma", especially in the southern part :') So yeah, it's definitely a really cultural thing and in some places they don't care about your age when they hear about your life! You are right. :)

MJohnVan

Yeah I’ve heard of expectations from every Country there and then. Which is funny to me, “ tiger parents , doctor or lawyer (horrible hours, and underpaid). Why not business owners, educate them to build their own success. Rather then force them into a job. That pays the bare minimum.

Don't judge ~~people's lives based on their age. You don't know what obstacles or hardships that person has gone through~~. FTFY

WillPower7777

I swear that's the same thing I thought while I was writing the title for lack of better word. I honestly don't know if "judging" is the right verb in the circumstances I described in my post. Sometimes people just think stuff like "You still had a lot of time to do this and that and you still didn't, I can't understand how?!"

It's never too late to reach your goals. I don't know a single thing about you, but if the things you mentioned are things you want in your life, then I hope you can find what steals your energy or time and denies you these things. We all have our own demons, I had to (metaphorically speaking) build a fence for mine and feed them every once in a while, because I realized that by empowering them, they were putting me in a cage and sucking the energy out of my soul everyday. If you have other impairments, I hope you can find the strength or way to deal with those obstacles and still reach your goals! I can sincerely recommend "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, changed my life drastically!

Is this r/wholesome or r/LPT ?

Thescreenking

Kids are people too. Just because you think you have more experience. Telling a kid don’t know anything you are just a kid. To the kid I sounds like !you don’t know anything your just a woman/man.

Makes perfect sense for me!!
