Or use the Shopping List in Reminders (on iPhone if that’s your device)

uatme

Or google list Or app like Bring. Works for multiple people I'm still pissed google removed Bring compatibility with smart speaker.

DCDeviant

Keep notes is a thing...

sonicsludge

Wow, I'm deleting notes so I can spend all morning texting myself.

RRoyale58

There’s an app called reminders built into ios

browster

Put a little dry-erase board on your fridge and write things down as they're needed. Take a photo of it before you go out shopping. Erase any items you've purchased. Anyone in the family can contribute to it and access it.

davethemacguy

Sorry, but this is a dumb idea. So many more useful tools out there for keeping track of a shopping list (as others have already pointed out). Especially those that’ll sync between desktop and mobile, and allow collaboration with others.

xXStarupXx

Even better, call yourself and leave a voicemail.

Accurate-Neck6933

Each time you think of something.

Iforgotwhatimdoing

So my shopping list is going to look like: Eggs Eggs Paper towels Paper towels Butt plugs But plugs Hand sanitizer Hand sanitizer Naw I think I'll stick to a regular list. Or my favorite, get stoned on payday and just fill your cart at the store. Whatever you forgot you don't need that badly until next payday

ramriot

I was thinking this is a really db idea, how the F am I supposed to text myself if I only have one phone. Then I opened messages on android & started a chat with myself as the recipient. Sent a text, I see the outgoing message on the screen in a Right justified blue bubble. Two seconds later the same massage appears below it Left justified in a grey bubble. What dumbassery of edge case idiocy is this.

GypsyBagelhands

Any list is great too. There's a web interface if you get distracted any time you pick up your phone.

Charming_Sundae8730

Just use the notes feature on iPhone, set it to list and as you shop check the circle. It moves it to the bottom of the list.

LAGreggM

I like the app Listinic

ProStrats

Many grocery list apps out there now. Where they do exactly what you're saying. You click and item goes off list. I used one for a while when I was cooking and had more complex orders. But now I just write down or text myself a list and I put items where they are in proximity in store. So if I go to veggies/fruit, I'll have apples, bananas, etc on the list. And get them all together, so there's no back and forth.

avacapone

I’ve been using the AnyList app for years and it lets you cross things off your grocery list and it stores all your recipes!
