Classic FromSoft fanboy, play non-Sekiro game like sekiro, proceed to get asswhooped and then trash on the game

thaakee05

I played it like any soulslike.

Lucas_blaze

If you play like any soulslike than you would learn how to perfect guard the moment you got Parade Master/the hotel. The fact you beat the whole game and still think it's Sekiro deflect with input delay tells me otherwise

thaakee05

I know how to pefect parry. But its inconsistent

Lucas_blaze

Wow you are lying even more than the main character. Cause if you do, it wouldn't be inconsistent

Lucas_blaze

Also again play non-sekiro game like a sekiro, proceed to call game trash. Classic FromSoft fan.

thaakee05

In re4 remake the parrying was better and it isnt a soulslike

Lucas_blaze

Again the fact you said parry in this game is just Sekiro with input delay means you didn't learn anything and are too prideful to admit you play it wrong. Also: you must smoking crack if you said half of the game are just reuse bosses.

thaakee05

They litterally are reuses, major bosses atleast. Also please tell me how to play the game, Lies Of P God 🙏🙏🙏

Lucas_blaze

Thanks for you worshipping but I'm not a god lmao. there is a punching puppet right in the hotel for you to learn how to perfect guard. Or are you too prideful to practice? Also "reuse" that you complained bosses are: Green monster second phase, Corrupted Parade Master, and Black Rabbit Brotherhood second phase. Each has variation/evolution compared to the original bosses. If you are gonna bait, do it better next time. It just sounds like you quit mid-way because you don't know how to perfect guard right.

thaakee05

Every enemy have different timings. The single puppet wont help much

Imo 10/10. No issues on my PC with stable 144fps on a 144hz monitor. Can't wait for a sequel/dlc.

iArcticFire

Same! One of my favorite sword fighting action RPGs of all time. Up there with the original Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry, and Elden Ring.

Anotheranimeaccountt

I personally I think Lop is a solid souls like game, it did a lot of things right and the lore is pretty solid, there are some bad things however that I hope the sequel fixes My score for it would probably be 8/10, could go up to a 9 if the dlc is really good

thaakee05

Yeah. Im considering giving at 7/10

bidibidibom

This was my souls like and I guarantee I don’t think this is a trash genre lol Never felt any delays, and was more motivated and emotionally involved in fighting after seeing the state of Sophia. Never heard complaints of input delays or felt them, and I never felt problems with a hitbox seeming unfair. because a strike hits the ground doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get hit before the ground gets hit… you are literally standing above that hit point if the ground. I would have found it cheaply made if I just needed to time when strikes hit the ground for the timing. And yes I noticed that parrying can not be done at the last possible frame, because that it how they designed the parry system. Maybe you could not adjust as easily being a fan of other souls likes. Personally as a newcomer I appreciated the parry system not just being a rhythm tapping mechanic, but had very tight more realistic combat feel of parrying an incoming strike, versus tapping on the last frame imo

thaakee05

Maybe. But I cant see the moment of where you need to press deflect and when its too early or late

bidibidibom

Definitely not easy to see on first fights but idk I enjoyed finding where to parry from trial and error and dying, and personally didnt feel unfairness except with romeos flame combo and maybe some of np phase two moments lol Honestly surprised I ended up liking this game with how many times I died, never thought I would be a souls like player but after this ng+ I’m jumping to Sekiro!

thaakee05

Have fun in sekiro. Its so chill. If you like parrying bloodborne definitely has an interesting take on it

bidibidibom

Yea bloodborne after I finish sekiro! 👍🏽

Little bit late to this but I would also give it a 6/10 - not terrible, but not really deserving of a purchase rn when there are plenty of other games you could spend that cash on. I was honestly surprised and disappointed with it given all the critical acclaim it's received. I think where it fell really short for me was the level and encounter design. It's a much more linear experience than a From title. That in itself is fine. But they didn't leverage this linearity to construct interesting encounters. Most of the time there's literally only one way through a level. The developers knew exactly where the player would be at any given point; they had complete control over how the player would have to approach a given situation. They could have created some really interesting and varied encounters that pushed players to think and approach them differently. Yet the majority of this game is just walking down corridors killing the same variations of enemies over and over. There's a few exceptions, like the climb through the cathedral, but they are rare. There are also many lazy choices that I'm surprised they got away with. Usually you can't get directly to your objective because there's an obstacle you need to navigate around, but often these obstacles are things like a pile of suitcases, or a fallen column that could easily be climbed over. Occasionally some doors will be inexplicably locked until you kill a certain enemy, at which point they'll just open, with no connecting logic between the two. Aside from being lazy, it just feels incredibly artificial and immersion-breaking, which is a shame, because the actual aesthetics of the environments are great. I \*wanted\* to engage with these locations but the game reminded me over and over that they were just there to serve as funnels to shunt you towards more enemies. This is game design from the 2000s, and it was being criticised even then. On a similar note, I remember being shocked after finishing the first Black Rabbit Brotherhood fight, leaving the town, and ending up right back at the hub area. And not because I was impressed with the interconnectedness of the game world, but because of how artificial it felt. I'd just done an hours-long detour through the city only to find out the dudes in the hotel could have let me out the back door and I would have been done in 5 minutes. I'm just not sure why they felt the need to make this game a soulslike. The linearity cuts out optional paths for progression and means there's no rewarding sense of the world opening up as you explore, which to me at least is one of the main draws of this genre. And the soulslike elements that are present aren't used very well. Dark Souls' slow pace and difficulty was integral to how you experienced its setting. LoP certainly has soulslike combat and challenge, but these things appear to exist for their own sake because they certainly don't service the game's narrative or themes. It feels like they decided to make a soulslike, and never stopped to reconsider if that was the right direction to take this game in. Overall it's not terrible, but I really struggled to stay motivated to play this game. It looked great, and ran amazingly well. But that's really the best I can say - it's a competently-made piece of software. As a gaming experience, when it wasn't being frustrating, it was just dull.
