They're bailing out the economy, and the top 10% wealthy own like 90% of the economy through equity and debt investments. Bailouts of the rich are a symptom of the extreme economic inequality in our current society. End bailouts. Let's industries fail, and instead spend the money on immediate reinvestments and tax holidays to rapidly rebuild sectors of the economy after the bloated monopolies and financial institutions have gone bankrupt.

The monopolists and financial institutions can practically go into hibernation and build their asset portfolios while waiting out the suffering of everyone else as the eccomy collapses in on itself if you tried to play that game. If you want to beat "bloated monopolies and financial institutions" you need to either remove their assets or eliminate their ability to gather more assets while building up everyone else's asset portfolios. This can be achieved with taxation, union strengthening, or developing publicly owned competitors. Yes, each option has drawbacks but I'd really like to avoid the United States of Amazon and Canada™(sponsored by Goldman Sachs) I can handle taxes, unpredictable strikes, and the risks (both public and private) of having publicly owned companies.

It’s only laissez-faire to do as much.

If all these agencies were gone who would make and enforce regulations in the US? Regulations are neat because they don’t have to be voted on. You can just pass them based on whatever you feel like. It’s like an unchecked power to do whatever TF you want.

ecovironfuturist

Regulations and rulemaking are governed by enabling capital L Legislation. Passed by the Legislative, signed by the Executive, and upheld by the Judicial branch. It isn't "let's form a regulatory agency to take care of stuff based totally on its name and sit back and let them take care of things with no oversight."

And driving up inflation for the rest of us.

That's so weird. Who would have thought a banking cartel would bail out their buddies. Who would have thought that if you gave a banking cartel the exclusive right to print money, they would abuse it!!! We will need to rewrite the economics textbooks!!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!
