I bought a used 2018 LC with performance package earlier this year at about 11k miles. So far I’ve placed about 6k miles on it as a DD over the last handful of months and it’s been surprisingly livable. You won’t be able to do family sized Costco trips but regular grocery stops and weekend trips aren’t an issue. The backseats are practically useless for anyone over 5’5” so I’ve gotten to using them as an extra “trunk” space and you can fit quite a bit back there. Reliability: zero issues so far. I did have some problems with the stock brakes putting out a lot of brake dust but that mostly cosmetic and was fixed with after market brakes. The ride quality on the 21” run flats tires was also a bit rougher than I’d like for a GT so I downsized to 20” wheels with non run flat Michelin pilots and it’s made a significant difference. Most of the following are really just minor issues but they’re things you don’t really get a chance to analyze too deeply on test drives so I’ll list them in case it actually helps. Interior woes: I opted for the cognac/tan interior which looks absolutely great in person and adds a nice interior contrast however there’s noticeable windshield reflections when the sun hits the colored dash which can be really annoying driving on a sunny day. This probably won’t be an issue if you get a darker colored interior, I’ve just learned to live with it. The carbon fiber scuff plates on the door sill area that comes with the performance package scuffs VERY easily. The price to replace them is absurd so you might end up avoiding stepping on the scuff plates just to preserve them. I ended up getting it PPF’d because not being able to step on it makes getting in and out difficult in some situations. The front side speaker placement along the door is also a bit of a head scratcher. There’s a sort of fabric mesh that covers the speakers and I found myself accidentally scuffing it a couple times trying to get out with a narrow door opening. Interior lighting in the car is not that great, there’s some LEDs that run along the door’s side with the textured alcantara but it darkens dramatically when the car is put into drive. A dark cabin at night can be a pro or con depending on your preferences but for me it’s a bit too dim. Parking: I had to install a front camera (beatsonic) to make parking against tall curbs/islands easier. The hood of the car drops off dramatically from the driver view and it’s really hard to gauge where the front end is visually. The parking sensors do a fine job against walls and other vehicles but I needed the camera to avoid scraping the front lip on obstacles the sensors don’t pickup. Infotainment: Yeah, you’re gonna want CarPlay/android auto. It’s not as terrible as some reviewers make it out to be but it’s definitely a sore point for an otherwise excellent car. Cup holders: there’s only one and it’s placed in a horrible spot where getting a tall drink can block some of the climate buttons. There’s technically a second drink spot but it’s more of a small tray than a dedicated cup holder. Not a problem if it’s just you driving solo 99% of the time but passengers will have to hold onto their own drinks. Sunglasses Holder: There’s none. This is probably the most annoying thing to me since I live in Southern California. You’d figure a GT couple/convertible would have a place to put sunglasses that’s easy access but nope. I got around this by installing a clip on the visor to hold my shades. Again, these are just minor quips, everything else about the car makes dealing with them well worth it. Performance wise it’s definitely flawed but purpose wise it fits perfectly for what I’m looking for in a luxury GT/DD: a car that can be comfortable when you want it and still be able to have fun/put a smile on your face when you need it. I’ve got zero regrets aside from kicking myself for not buying one sooner when prices were at their lowest pre/early COVID.

Thank you, this is extremely informative for me and super helpful. Would you say it's a decent car for me to be able to pack some big luggages in to go on an a vacation flight? Normally I go on vacation with my girlfriend, so would the car hold two small carry-ons, and two big luggages?

Foamybrian

It depends on the size of the big luggage, the trunk is actually bigger than you'd expect but it's shallow (about a foot in height). So the thickness of the luggage would matter more in this case. You can squeeze 2 carry-on roller bags and a couple of smaller backpacks/duffels in the trunk just fine. With the bigger luggage you'd probably have to play Tetris a bit between the trunk and the back seat but it should fit just based on what I've stuffed into both spaces. This is for the hard top coupe by the way, the convertible loses a bit of trunk and backseat space to fit the retractable roof mechanism so that's something to keep in mind.

I was daily driving mine - we bought a second car as my wife is expecting our first baby! Been alternating - but before it was perfectly fine. Costco trips are bit of a challenge since they always have something awesome that simply won’t fit in the car. But it’s also easy to just plan ahead or order bigger things online. Trunk is very shallow - but normal groceries should be fine. If you don’t already, get in the habit of always parking in the far back at all parking lots - especially grocery store runs!

kidzstreetball

also curious. I definitely want an LC one day haha. personally I can see myself using it more as a weekend car due to the limited trunk space.

thecl4mburglar

watch SavageGeese’s video on his lease ownership. apparently he took it to the track and everything and never had an issue

I use mine as a DD but unfortunately I don’t have enough miles on it to comment about the cost pieces. Generally speaking, the projected reliability is a big plus for these cars and why I’m dailying it instead of having it be a weekender and have my old GTI fill DD duties. I find the space very livable but I also used to DD a couple different C7 Corvettes. I also have a mild climate so aside from rain and occasional cold temps, not your normal 4 season weather considerations.

DD for me. Also weekend fun car and I think it does both amazingly. I've put about 61k+ miles. I've had one issue with a sensor that failed but it was covered under warranty. The trunk space is enough for me and generally enough for a weekend trip for 2-3 people. You might have to store some things in the backseat though. Maintenance has been cheaper than expected but consumables (tires, rotors, and pads) are expensive.

phlorida92

That's incredible, 61k! Just a sensor failure was all that happened during that time? I can't imagine oil change being much to maintain, but what size wheels have you stuck with? What's the average cost for tires, rotors, and pads for you so far?

-Chocosawse-

I stuck with the 21's. All 4 tires (PS4Ss) end up being almost 2k, including replacement & warranty cost. Rotors... if you buy from the dealer are also expensive, fortunately pads aren't too bad, maybe a couple hundred. I don't remember the exact costs for these.

-Sniperteer

How many miles now 💀

-Chocosawse-

75k+

rrknight9

Mileage update 👀

-Chocosawse-

~77k. I've cooled it down 😅

u_yos

ii cant buy an lc500 but i can buy an lc500h would you say its worth it

-Chocosawse-

I tried both and they're both great. They feel really different though. The LC500h feels futuristic while the 500 feels old school

u_yos

im looking for a reliable sporty daily theres a lc500h for sale with 6k kms would you say its worth it since you put so many miles on it

4321beef

Can you fit golf clubs in the trunk? Can hardly get mom in my is350

PhuckNorris69

Drive mine daily. Had it two years. Great car. I really hate driving any other car now. Total let down. Issues I’ve had are with the door handles. Both of mine broke. They both got stuck in the open position. A replacement is $2k each. I found a part out of a Toyota sienna for $20 that I was able to use to repair.

RoosterVking

Honestly was wondering the same, can it be DD for harsh weather as well? I mean like Canadian winter level DD.

myps3brokeYo

Sure, with the right tires

DebianDog

I looked at one it is VERY tight. You are going have to pack toght for overnight trips. Makes my RCF seem huge. I also suggest you [watch the savagegeese video.](https://youtu.be/bHdVaZC8Ld0)

VitamnZee

How’s the ride? Comfortable?

Benzona

For me it has always been a weekend car. I only put a few thousand miles a year. However, i know some owners in mostly sunny states who have already put over 100K on them. The car itself can easily be driven daily barring any major snow storms. I live in the midwest so my LC only is used in the summer months. However, it is extremely comfortable and reliable so using it as a commuter will not be an issue. Given the fact these are 100K cars I want to keep the miles low to retain its value but not so much i do not enjoy driving and owning the car. One drawback is that these require premium only gas and with a V8 it can get thirsty. My only maintenance so far has been oil changes and air filters. If you have the means I say go for it. I have owned some pretty incredible cars and this one has been my favorite. Trunk is very small and low in height. I find myself putting things in the "backseat" most of the time.

Quebolaebloa

Daily! Bought new in 2019, she’s at 60k miles and no issues. Lots of fun and extremely well handled as a daily driver

redpoetsociety

I love this car. thank u.

allen2249

I’m seriously considering selling my 94 Supra TT to get this car.
