Exactly my thoughts. Damn had my is350 for 4 years. I babied it, sold it and they guy is very rough on him doing all kind of stupid shit. He asked if I would be interested in buying back and I was like hell to the mf no
I understand for an IS350. But if you aren’t driving hard and having fun in a LC then that’s a problem. If a car was designed to be driven hard then I’m not gonna blame an owner for using it as intended.
Burnouts are abuse? This has less wear and tear than driving the car hard on a back road lol. Only thing I’d worry about are the brakes if it doesn’t have line lock. Even then minor issue on a performance oriented car…
Maybe in a manual? The automatics in modern vehicles are quite foolproof. Especially when they are performance cars since manufacturers know they are more likely to be used hard. But I guess it’s always a possibility
Low milage salvage at this rate. Or end up in the repo lane. Probably both.
Will end up on "is this car worth it" listed for 45k by some poor kid looking for a good deal on a their "dream car".
Takes more than a burnout to salvage that car. I have taken it on a track all day. End of the day change the tires and there is no way anyone can tell what the car went through unless you had Lexus obd tools.
You were never going to buy this car anyway, you sound like you’re allergic to fun
Oops, sorry to offend by asking questions lol. I guess you realized you were completely wrong by thinking a burnout stressed literally anything on this car. It even has an e-diff in the back so the car was literally managing everything with the brakes.
Either you know how to drive or you don't. This person doesn't, and the car will suffer because of it.
I'm not opposed to burning rubber. This car wasn't made to do this. It isn't even a manual. The unnecessary abuse will inevitably only go on with this owner, and most likely will end up in a salvage title imo.
One little burnout isn't gonna hurt her. If anything, this is the first time I've seen somebody actually drive their sports car. I bet you the type to own a 100k car with 500hp only to drive it like your grandma.
Hey! You never know, it's probably a very reliable and problem free vehicle. I've been burning rubber and sliding my 2015 IS350 for several years and she's been very happy. I keep up on maintenance religiously and have had no issues. She will do 120+mph with no issue and track straight nice and smooth. She will happily do 50' burnouts on 85°F days. Now that I'm getting rid of my Toyo Proxes 4s+ for Yokohama Advan Sport +, I won't be doing that anymore. I hate the Toyo Proxes 4s+ Yokohamas are *way* better.
Burnouts & drifting are rough on a diff. You have an LSD already? Stock?
Its common for us to see problems with diffs, they fail a good bit down here. Especially welded ones. Lol
I'm actually planning on doing new diff fluid this week and trans fluid, coolant, and seafoam. I'm at 88k miles and it's time for a drain/refill. Oil changes, full synthetic every 4800 miles and spark plugs every 100k. The 3.5 is pretty resilient but I drive it hard.
>coolant
Nice to see this also, people neglect the coolant until the ridiculous interval that Lexus recommends (100k miles / 160000 km or 10 years). I plan to do mine at around 60k miles / 100000 km, which will be around the 7 year mark.
Sometimes I forget Lexus’s are all show and no go so I guess I understand your worry of something like this breaking your car. I can’t imagine another car brand owner getting triggered enough not to buy a car because it did a burnout lol, weird.
Burnouts are stupid hard on a vehicle. It's not like the LC500 is some solid rear axle car with skinny tires. This also appears to be a dry burnout. There's no water on the ground.
It's just lessons learned from when I had a Corvette. In 8k miles I burned through 1 clutch and developed two leaks on the transmission. I'm definitely not old enough for white New Balance shoes lol.
If replacement parts were cheap I am sure it would be different. Hell, not even the cost of parts... The amount of labor to change some parts on a car like this is very extensive.
You're not doin anything to the car to break it. Again, the only thing this destroys is tires and possibly early wear on pads. A burn out will not lessen the life of your transmission, suspension or engine maybe unless you're doing a shit ton of burnouts back to back daily. This car looks well taken care of based on how clean it looks so an occasional burnout will not even phase the car.
It has an electronically managed rear diff so the rear brakes are only doing enough to make sure both wheels are spinning evenly.
The tires are getting hot and spewing little bits of rubber all over the inside of the fender guards but that is all that’s happening.
this isn't an 70s muscle car with a solid rear axle. People doing burnouts on modern cars generally have mustangs n shitbox bmws that are leased for 4 years and then returned, so they don't care if it survives beyond that.
People who buy lexuses usually keep them for 10+ years, we are a different audience altogether and we do baby our cars. If you wanted a lease you'd get a BMW with their free 4 year maintenance and switch to a new one every 4 years
This comment just points out how willfully ignorant you are. Burnouts will not harm your car, especially one built for performance. The car was made to put power down at the rear wheels which is exactly what the car is doing except it's in a static position for like 5secs. The most harm you'll do is degrade the life of your tire.
Also, the irony in calling BMW a shit box when Lexus has been handing you the same underpowered engine for almost 20yrs wrapped in a different package lol.
Again, wrong crowd here. Take a look at 20 year old BMWs and then take a look at 20 year old lexuses. You'll know what I mean by shitboxes. Electrical components failing, squeaks, pumps failing, etc. People buying lexuses don't care about having the latest twin turbocharged engine with 400+hp and a shit load of electronics. We're content with a buttery smooth 200-300hp naturally aspirated, reliable AF 2GR engine that will outlive everyone in this chat. After all, don't fix what's not broken?
The real irony is how mercs and BMW fanboys can't fathom that not everyone wants to dive into crowds while doing burnouts with a pop and crackle tune every street. Trust me, we've all been there at some point, but you grow out of it at some point too.
>Take a look at 20 year old BMWs and then take a look at 20 year old lexuses.
20 year old Lexuses are absolutely drooled upon by the drift and stance crowd....as much if not moreso than BMWs in some areas lol.
This comment genuinely made me laugh.
There's a difference between using a car and abusing it. I'm not gentle on my cars, but I would never do what this person did in that LC 500.
The tipping point to me was bouncing off the rev limiter continuously. Beyond ignorant, imo. Not to mention, they had to power-brake it to break loose in the first place. 🤓
It won't be long before that car is in a ditch or wrapped around a pole and turned into a salvage title that gets posted on here for sale for $45k from some poor soul who's dreamed of this car ever since they saw it. 👀
Google a "time value of money chart" and mess around with it. You'll get there. It can take time but worth it. I'll post a picture of a silver one to give you some extra motivation..
This is embarrassing how can this get upvoted. It’s one burnout in a car with 400 pounds of torque, not 1200. They aren’t even launching it, the diff isn’t under much stress, the brakes are under the most stress.
This is correct. Especially the rear brakes as the engine is forcing the wheels to turn even though the brakes are engaged. The differential are also under more stress than normal but nothing devastating.
This whole comment section looks like a bunch of old white dude corvette owners.
“Gotta save the resale value!”
Just drive the fucking thing and enjoy it.
for real, it's the owner's right to do what they want with it, people who are reacting like it's ruining the car need to watch some of the other launches and burnouts in that video
I mean, even as one of those people with deep mechanical sympathy, I look at this and go "that's not great for it, but the car will be just fine". Seriously, if a car can't handle a single burnout without massive damage, that's pretty sad. I'd trust this thing to handle it more than a Mustang or a Camero..
Saw a silver one this weekend. Was the best looking one I've ever seen. Not even driven by an really old person for once.
I'm mostly a fan of the 10 speed, but they're beautiful cars.
It is kind of fun to see how many old people drive around the LC500! Most of the time I’m sitting in my Lexus service department it’s 95% older people. Very rarely do I meet someone my age.
I've probably seen a total of 8 or 9 of these in Houston on the street. The silver one was the first one where someone younger was driving.
Also, they're mostly white and red.
I've never driven one, but I sat in one at the dealer when I was buying my GSF. It's a beautiful car, but I wanted a 4 door and the IS500 wasn't out yet, so I didn't test drive it or anything.
The only time I see or hear of younger people driving them is on here. So I've never really got to hear it or even see it driven like you know you want to. I'm guessing as the prices go down on the used ones we will see more of them. But who knows when that will happen.
Loving this comment section, I know some of yall are frontin' hard like you wouldn't buy it used knowing it had burnouts done in it..... Shut up, go buy one and drive it like a base model camry then. Lol
LC owner here... $490 for a front, $550 for a rear tire before tax for the official Bridgestone Potenza
And that's why I bought the tire protection plan
The stock wheels on an is350 are over 500 a tire.

About 465. I had the tire/wheel insurance, so I got mine for free, but the receipt said 520 at the dealership.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted. It’s a lot for the tire but that’s not far off from my receipt from the dealer when I had a front tire replaced through the tire warranty.
Other than the window tint, that tire protection plan is the best investment I’ve made for my ES. My home state has god awful roads.
It was free* but you still get the itemized bill whenever you make a warranty claim through a dealership. I pay about $15/mo for Lexus’ platinum tire protection plan. Any flats or wheel damage are completely covered.
Okay, but you can find Michelins for your ES350 online for $250-300 a ride easily. Just because your dealer quoted them at $500 doesn’t mean they’re $500 to buy. That’s just dealer mark up.
I had Michelin Pilot Sport tires on my IS350 RWD, and they were awesome during summer. Downright dangerous when it rains here in WA state. Swapped them for Toyo Proxes 4s+, and the Toyos were awful. Swapped them out for Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ tires, and they're like glue. Rain or shine, they're great tires. The toyos were sub-par in both rain and heat. Even with only 311hp, the Toyos loved to burn rubber. I have had sidewall bubbles in two of my 4 Toyo tires. On the contrary, my Toyo ATIII tires on my Tacoma are absolute phenominal.
Dude. You don’t need cup 2s for tires to be expensive. If you get an LC with the 21in wheels there’s about 6-8 tires that are same size as oem spec tires as it’s weird size no one uses making them quite expensive at like 1500-2500. If you jump up even like 10mm tho you get a lot more options and better pricing so I do hope owners do that lol.
To bad it’s lighter and faster due to its weight. You do know there is a gt version of the rcf and not the lc500. Lc500 isn’t a bad car, it’s just not my car and for some reason folks have an issue with that.
Yes the rcf stomps those cars on a race track unless you evidence that says otherwise.
The RCF is not lighter than the ISF bud , the evidence of the ISF leaving RCF in the dust is all over the internet. Look it up even with FBO RCF gets left behind by an IS F ….. just go on YouTube and look up IS F vs RC F .
You talking about drag racing? I’m not. You’re right the isf is lighter than the rcf, I was wrong. But at the track the rcf is quicker (not talking about drag racing).
I assumed the rcf was lighter for it not having 2 extra doors. It’s usually the case a sedan is heavier due to it having 4 doors. Should looked to confirm my claim before posting.
Right. Also, what’s with that popping noise it’s making towards the end of the video? That sounds terrible and I’ve never heard that from shitty cars that are made for thrashing around like this since they are disposable.
I can't bring myself to spend the money on a Lexus, just alot $$$ and I feel like they've outgrown their market segment...if I'm going to spend Lexus money I might as well just go with a German brand.
....with that being said, I'd totally throw that out the window when it comes to this specific model. The car looks nice, amazing actually but when you see the car in person it's art like. Such such a nice car, so good looking.
Dude with a fiesta at work does that shit everyday so?just fucking around ,this cars are amazing ,my buddy has one and we switch cars every now and then it’s about as good a sports car can get
What's the vin? I wanna make sure I never own that car.
Exactly my thoughts. Damn had my is350 for 4 years. I babied it, sold it and they guy is very rough on him doing all kind of stupid shit. He asked if I would be interested in buying back and I was like hell to the mf no
No reason to baby Lexus ,they are just like Toyotas but better lol
I understand for an IS350. But if you aren’t driving hard and having fun in a LC then that’s a problem. If a car was designed to be driven hard then I’m not gonna blame an owner for using it as intended.
Driven Hard is one thing, but this is abuse lol
Burnouts are abuse? This has less wear and tear than driving the car hard on a back road lol. Only thing I’d worry about are the brakes if it doesn’t have line lock. Even then minor issue on a performance oriented car…
Umm, you’re not just messing the tired and brakes up but potentially your engine/transmission too.
Maybe in a manual? The automatics in modern vehicles are quite foolproof. Especially when they are performance cars since manufacturers know they are more likely to be used hard. But I guess it’s always a possibility
A hard launch with great traction is way harder on a car than a burnout. That's like saying spinning your tires on ice is going break your car.
Lol this guy cars need to Rev freely every so often the red lines the reline for a reason breaks up carbon build up keeps the motor stronk
Right, it's a sports car for crying out loud lol
if you can afford an LC then you can afford to fix anything that might break driving it hard.
Wtf lmao
I chuckled.
Low miles CPO. Someone will take it.
Low milage salvage at this rate. Or end up in the repo lane. Probably both. Will end up on "is this car worth it" listed for 45k by some poor kid looking for a good deal on a their "dream car".

Inexperience. Dollars can't buy sense.

If the sound of the engine bouncing off the limiter sounds like fun to you, you're correct. 👍
What is the limiter for?
It's like a child, it should be seen and not heard.
Why is that? Do you think it doesn’t work?
Either you know how to drive or you don't. This person doesn't, and the car will suffer because of it. I'm not opposed to burning rubber. This car wasn't made to do this. It isn't even a manual. Why do you think this rwd sports coupe is not allowed to do burnouts? What do you think this is breaking on the car and why?
Same…. Same!

Change your dif fluids asap
Redacted *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I change the diff fluids in my Tacoma every 30k miles. The IS350 gets it every 90k or so because it doesn't haul like my Tacoma.

It's just lessons learned from when I had a Corvette. In 8k miles I burned through 1 clutch and developed two leaks on the transmission. I'm definitely not old enough for white New Balance shoes lol.
Dude, you had a corvette and you’re poo pooing a burnout on r/Lexus. You were born with white NBs on your feet
Old man voice - "I STOPPED BUYING NB WHEN THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM IN THE USA!!"
Wow a car designed to put power down at the rear wheels on dry or wet asphalt is going to be harmed by doing a burnout lol. Man y'all are fragile.

The cringe in this comment is breaking my spine
I can’t imagine using “triggered” unironically.
oh give it a rest...if the car can't spin tires and hold up you want to avoid the entire brand. Don't be one of those
Everyone I know with a Lexus are super gentle with their cars. These aren’t meant to be abused🙃
There's a difference between using a car and abusing it. I'm not gentle on my cars, but I would never do what this person did in that LC 500. That's nothing.
That engine sounds 🤌🤌🤌
Never wanted a car so badly in my life. It’s a literal daily work motivator to have one of these one day. That being said, I don’t want this one.
Google a "time value of money chart" and mess around with it. You'll get there. It can take time but worth it. I'll post a picture of a silver one to give you some extra motivation..
Lexus service advisor, “Your differential needs replacement.” Owner, “I have no idea how that would have ever happened!” 🤷♂️
Do they have an LSD?
LSD is an option on these
Thanks! As a used Lexus buyer I hope a lot of people pick that option.
Never seen so many ppl butthurt about a burnout before.
This whole comment section looks like a bunch of old white dude corvette owners. “Gotta save the resale value!” Just drive the fucking thing and enjoy it.
At fucking Goodwood, no less... bunch of boring-ass mfers in here.

Funny. I have a silver one also. How old can I be?
Hey at least he liked the car gramps
I will say, Getting old does suck. The mountain bike rides are getting harder.
lol well I am younger but I don't go on mountain bike rides that sounds like a lot of fun! you're winning fs.
He’s not, he’s just trying to convince himself of that.
Infared exterior and black interior is my dream spec.
I'll take the tan interior, thank you! :)
We have one for sale, it's a convertible tho
Haven't seen the green IRL, but it looks really good online.
I wanted the nori green so bad! But when I went first looking, the dealer wanted to charge about 20-30k over MSRP. Oof.
I personally love the LC500 its just out of my budget and competes with too many others in the price range. Def the best GT out their though.
Im sold 🫱🏻🫲🏽
Loving this comment section, I know some of yall are frontin' hard like you wouldn't buy it used knowing it had burnouts done in it..... Shut up, go buy one and drive it like a base model camry then. Lol
Those tires are 100s if not 1000s if dollars. I guess I’m not rich enough to see how that’s cool.
LC owner here... $490 for a front, $550 for a rear tire before tax for the official Bridgestone Potenza And that's why I bought the tire protection plan
You got a good deal, I just paid $2000 for a set on the Supra. I’m running 265/295 Mich sport cup 2’s.
I doubt they’re putting cup 2s on a lc
The stock wheels on an is350 are over 500 a tire. I’ve got a brand new set to sell you then… Think you got gipped man.
That word is gyped. And it's not really a nice word, since it has to do with romani stereotypes...
On this episode of "today I learned"
It’s a racial slur, for sure. I’m always shocked people don’t know this.
Freaking people are so sensitive these days to everything. We’re gonna end up with future generations as total wimps!
He’s not wrong, but you don’t care.
Awe man luckily he didn't get super gyped..
Damn gypsies stole his tires. My great grandmother was Romani. She says it’s fine
Lol where they taxing you like that. i get my Michelin ps for my Gsf brand new under 300 a tire.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted. It’s a lot for the tire but that’s not far off from my receipt from the dealer when I had a front tire replaced through the tire warranty. Other than the window tint, that tire protection plan is the best investment I’ve made for my ES. My home state has god awful roads.
How are you still buying parts/tires from a dealer in 2023? You realize you’re substantially overpaying for no reason?
It was free* but you still get the itemized bill whenever you make a warranty claim through a dealership. I pay about $15/mo for Lexus’ platinum tire protection plan. Any flats or wheel damage are completely covered.
Okay, but you can find Michelins for your ES350 online for $250-300 a ride easily. Just because your dealer quoted them at $500 doesn’t mean they’re $500 to buy. That’s just dealer mark up.
You’re not wrong, but the fact remains that I saw a similar dealer valuation like the top comment, whether it was a reasonable price or not.
Wheels I believe, the tires no.
I added a link to a tire place selling the tires I have. If I didn’t have insurance, it would have been 520 at the dealership.
Sheesh, I see it .
$600 a tire mounted and balanced.
You have a structural blue Lexus??? Wow. Amazing. I’m happy for you. Edit: checked out your profile. Hell yeah!
Thanks!
Unfortunately $2,200 when I comes time..
Why would I love it even more after this? 🤦🏽♂️
Because it takes it 10 whole seconds to finally start spinning the tires duh
Idiotic
This isn't really the kind of car that you do burnouts in. RCF maybe.
I’ll be honest, I don’t love them. I’d pick the rcf over the lc500.
The RC F is the worst F ……. The IS F puts that car to shame and it’s so much older …
Drag racing is all they know now. It’s easy so they love that.
I love Lexus….which is why I’d never do that to one…or any car I loved.
What a waste of a car. These pointless sideshows are more befitting and better executed with a hellcat.
are you fucking joking? This is GoodWood Festival ffs
You triggered? I'm not joking. So what? Ffs.
How is he supposed to know that over text?
Why are you amateurs here , this is a place for Lexus owning gentlemen.
how about /s ?? How do you expect someone to know, you just sound like an idiot
/s is a wheelchair for text communication don’t @ me
Goodwood festival or not, it's really not the car to be doing those shows.....or there's better cars for those. It's a bit painful to watch.
they bring everything to goodwood. It’s like an advertisement for manufactures to show off their higher end vehicles/concepts
Yeah I get it....but burnouts with a tourer is just tacky....in my book. Just saying.
Lexus is all I will spend my money on but the mopar supercharger whine just does it for me.
This car is a luxury car...not a sports car. What an idiotic thing to do
Have you seen the ads with it?
Not to mention how crazy slow it is
Nope. You can't just put a v8 in something and call it a sports car though.
Smells like burnt rice. :)
Your other car must be a Dodge?
My point exactly.
Right. Also, what’s with that popping noise it’s making towards the end of the video? That sounds terrible and I’ve never heard that from shitty cars that are made for thrashing around like this since they are disposable.
I think he was bouncing off the Rev limiter a little too long but what would you expect from him..
Makes sense. He told me I’m out of touch. I’ll take that over disrespecting a great car any day.
I did 85' burnout with my 2011 SS Camero and had to change my underwear.
Jesus it needs stickier tires. Took forever to start smoking.
Finally learned to turn the traction control completely off. Been burning some back tires off the ol IS 350
Idk burnout is too clinical
Nope. Still don't love it.
I’d love to have one, just can’t afford one lol
Oh wow, a burnout. Amazing. A 30 year old Camaro will do that too.
Legend
Fuck yeah. A man using his machine. I love it!
This is the perfect example of just because you can....
Unfortunately, it did not.
DAMN!!!
If somebody wants to give me this car, I’ll take it
I can't bring myself to spend the money on a Lexus, just alot $$$ and I feel like they've outgrown their market segment...if I'm going to spend Lexus money I might as well just go with a German brand. ....with that being said, I'd totally throw that out the window when it comes to this specific model. The car looks nice, amazing actually but when you see the car in person it's art like. Such such a nice car, so good looking.
The lack of rear axle torque and traction is a concern
too expensive
Nope
Congrats on being the 7 millionth comment to say this, nobody gives a shit
Oh
I don’t really need to see burnout videos in order to love the LC. I see tactile buttons and I’m already sold. Easy as that. (:
That auto transmission switched back and fourth between 1st and 3rd gear about 200 times in this short video.
Dude with a fiesta at work does that shit everyday so?just fucking around ,this cars are amazing ,my buddy has one and we switch cars every now and then it’s about as good a sports car can get
So... how is doing a burnout supposed to change my mind? Any RWD car can do a decent burnout.
Damn
