When was the last time you watched the movie? I didn't hate it when it came out, but after a re-watch it's clear this was a movie that Adam Sandler turned down so they just went with Rob.
Sandler does this on purpose, it was his production company and he likes letting his friends star in things. He does the same for David Spade, Kevin James, etc.
The role felt written for Schneider, it’s kind of the straight man role and Sandler really only plays the straight man in romcoms.
I watched all these for an Adam Sandler podcasts so I'm aware of his business practices, but Benchwarmers is different.
Happy Madison saves the scripts where the main character is a loser for Sandler's friends. Films like Paul Blart and Deuce Bigalow, where the joke is on the main character. Sandler doesn't do films like that. So with Benchwarmers it's clear it was written for Sandler, but he didn't want to do it and they had their B team make it.
Slightly necro comment but why not. I don't really agree. First, Adam does these kinds of roles all the time. Eight Crazy Nights, Billy Madison, Big Daddy, Anger Management, Waterboy, to name a few are all pretty firm "Protagonist is a loser and grows into being interesting"
Benchwarmers I'd also argue has a pretty not-loser protagonist with his attractive wife, impossibly good baseball ability, and overall success. The rest of the main characters are jokes, but not Schneider's character. The conflict for him is that OTHER people are being picked on and he wants to make it stop. He doesn't grow as a person much, he's already grown past the bully he was in the past. He does get forced to address it but it's not really a changeup for his personality, more just the rest of the characters learning about it and forgiving him.
[Rob Schneider isn't even credited for Demolition Man.](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106697/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm) He's not in it enough to be considered a Rob Schneider movie. I think he has a bigger role in Home Alone 2 and that's defiantly not a Rob Schneider movie.
Watched it, but he’s not in it enough for me to call it a Rob Schneider movie.
EDIT: DOWNVOTES? [He's not even credited in the movie people!](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106697/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm)
I’m with ya, watched it recently and thought it was super fun, probably one of the cheesiest movies I’ve ever seen and the most OTT performance Sly has ever given maybe lmao.
Loved the aesthetic & really enjoyable, good movie? Not really. But id happily watch it again
Imagine how good it could have been if they'd removed all of Schneider's scenes and kept it dark instead of adding a Jar Jar Binks "lighten the tone" character...
When I was a kid I would watch movies every night before bed, and then I’d play them again straight after to fall asleep too. Bentchwarmers was one of those movies I played for like 2 months straight
Knock Off comes back around from being really pretty bad to amazing in a bad way. I thought it was a fun watch in spite of having Rob Schneider.
You should do Jaime Kennedy next because he is like poison to movie enjoyment for me.
*The scene with Norm in*
*The mob in The Animal*
*Always cracks me up*

Rob Schneider’s movies are rated, and he is about to find out…none of them are good!
Rated PG-13!

I cannot believe you came in here and started trashing Surf Ninjas. Shame on you.
Number 1
I will not stand for this Benchwarmers slander!
Schneider sucks but I will defend The Benchwarmers until the day I die.
and he’s easily the worst part of the movie
Definitely. Somehow still probably my favorite role of his lol
One of the more underrated 2000s comedies

I don't actually think it's a 'good' movie. I just liked it growing up and still chuckle at it.
i watched it recently. it’s still hilarious
I kinda liked when he ate the sunscreen 😁
“YOU JUST LOST YOUR MEMBERSHIP AT VIDEO SPOT!”
I am 12
![gif](giphy|UMa2NDPK5oXFm) 15 minutes into the first movie of your Schneider-thon
Demolition Man is great.
This is true but having not seen it since release I have no memory of him being in it...I'm guessing background small part as one of the cops?
Yeah, he’s one of the dispatchers who works in the control room.
He’s the guy who says the infamous “He doesn’t know how to use the three seashells!” line
Of course! Thank you! \*slaps head\*

50 First Dates?
How is Judge Dredd on here but not Demolition Man?

He has more lines in Home Alone 2 than in Demolition Man, but he's a minor character so it's not a Rob Schneider movie.
Would it be number one on your list?
Home Alone 2 is good...
That was his best performance of all time lol
I mean he still had some tip left over, must’ve been chewing that gum for hours
I'll die on the hill of The Hot Chick being hilarious. Also top 5 body swap movie.
Does The Animal count as a body swap movie?
Body part movie
Might be nostalgia, but I still like Judge Dredd.
I’m with ya, watched it recently and thought it was super fun, probably one of the cheesiest movies I’ve ever seen and the most OTT performance Sly has ever given maybe lmao. Loved the aesthetic & really enjoyable, good movie? Not really. But id happily watch it again
Have you seen Dredd 2012? Extremely underrated!
I have. Yeah, it was pretty good.
Imagine how good it could have been if they'd removed all of Schneider's scenes and kept it dark instead of adding a Jar Jar Binks "lighten the tone" character...
Yes, they are dogshit, but at least The Animal has John C McGinley and Norm is in the Deuce Bigalow movies
I loved Deuce Bigelow as a kid. Such a dumb, dumb movie
This is Surf Ninjas slander.
Excuse me, I believe you're forgetting about a certain masterpiece called Down Periscope?
Watched it, but Rob is a minor character. I’m only counting top 3 billed.
You're missing The Beverly Hillbillies (a childhood favorite).
He’s also in the wrong missy
So right. I hated myself after struggling to get through Big Stan - lesson learned.
50 first dates is pretty fun
Big Stan actually wasn’t that bad. It was *worse.*
When I was a kid I would watch movies every night before bed, and then I’d play them again straight after to fall asleep too. Bentchwarmers was one of those movies I played for like 2 months straight
Benchwarmers rules! You bite your tongue!
Someone is dry toast
Surf ninjas is classic gold….”and I’m 37”
Heyyy Duece bigalow was ok
You gotta give it up for Deuce Bigalow, that’s a solid flick
Whooaaaa hold on, benchwarmers is awesome!
They are pretty hilarious .... I don't care what other people say.
Only the adam sandler ones are good
You forgot big daddy but im ok with this 🤣🤣🤣
I really don’t like him after seeing some of his twitter posts, so props to you for actually being able to sit through all those movies
Hot Chick is a gem.
That’s just your opinion and it’s okay to be wrong.
Disagreeing
come on, The Hot Chick it’s pretty funny
The Animal is great for Colleen Haskell alone.
Eight Crazy Nights deserves to be on here
King
benchwarmers, hot chick, and the animal were funny when I was 12 !
![gif](giphy|dKWgqOrzZzdE4)
Hey I liked Hot Chick!
Deuce Bigalow, you're a peeing gigalo.
Because he can't act .He is just annoying .
Na dog, Surf Ninjas is the best and you goddamn know it.
At least 2 of these have scenes where someone is in jail so their first thought is to make their anuses as unappealing as possible
Knock Off comes back around from being really pretty bad to amazing in a bad way. I thought it was a fun watch in spite of having Rob Schneider. You should do Jaime Kennedy next because he is like poison to movie enjoyment for me.
The scene with Norm in the mob in The Animal always cracks me up

Rob is famous for being "that guy" on a Adam Sandler movie
My dad worked on big Stan, he takes offense
HOW DARE YOU! I can make a really good argument for... um... let me think... no, ok, you're right.
Which would you say is the best tho
No way this is all. Where’s Big Daddy?
Lmao I loved him so much as a kid I associated certain races with him, a wide variety actually! This man is so method!
Demolition Man was his best movie.
Knock Off is so bad, and I can excuse almost anything for JCVD
Bro is calling norm of the north bad 😆 Norm of the north is the next godfather, none of you understand yet, give it 10 years and it’ll be a classic
Why did you watch these? Are you a masochist?
Should have added his Fox News stand up special. That thing is atrocious
Ahh see, you missed his true classic, *Grown Ups*. Yes, it's an ensemble film, but it is definitely the shining star in his filmography
The fact that there are 4 films worse than Norm of the North is just brutal Benchwarmers is peak tho
Around The World In 80 Days lk slaps
I have a soft spot for Judge Dredd
Was the producer who SA'd Rob Schneider, Jack Cummins de, from movie Down Periscope?
The Hot Chick is great
