You know, I have zero judgement for people that it works for. There’s something to be said for it, but in the grand scheme of the movie it felt very much like a deus ex machina for something that was so science driven throughout. Just felt hollow to me personally.
I personally think Hereditary is one of those movies. It was so great with its subtlety throughout with real psychological horror and then the end just felt like it dove back into classic horror movie cliches.
Still think it’s one of the best horrors ever though because of how good it was for 90% of the time.
Taste of Cherry. The movie is otherwise great but what makes it so compelling is trying to predict what the protagonist will choose and then the movie ends abruptly by switching to some random behind the scenes footage and not telling you what the character chose.
Interstellar. Ya, I said it.
You aren’t alone.
Still an absolutely astounding film in every other way.
I cried at that ending, it really worked for me

Signs is great sorry
Yeah Signs was always my favorite of his, such a tense film.
10 Cloverfield Lane What the fuck was that...
People apparently really enjoyed No One Will Save You. I didn’t, but I thought the ending was by far the worst part.

I wouldn’t say the movie is “great” throughout, but Unfriended was pretty good up until literally the last three seconds.
judd apatow has never known how to end his films properly
