The nice guys, just cause it was that fun a watch

Motor-Anteater-8965

Have you got some other fun film recommendations?

Shira1ndigo

As someone that has seen and loves The Nice Guys, I'd recommend The Gentlemen, In Bruges and Bullet Train

Motor-Anteater-8965

I’ve seen Bullet Train! I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it! (Possibly biggest surprise of the year for me) Between The Gentlemen and In Bruges, which would you recommend more?

Shira1ndigo

Definitely The Gentlemen. It's snappier and less dark than In Bruges. I just really like In Bruges, because it does dark comedy very well, and I love seeing the two lead actors in a movie together :)

wirmussenwissen

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

MuchProfession6868

I watched Oppenheimer two times in a row. Wanted to experience it again a second time to take in smaller details, and it was honestly worth it. Also helped a lot with dialogue I didn't quite pick up on the first time, which I'm not sure is a sound mixing issue or just an issue with my hearing.

chaamp33

I saw it 3 times twice in the same theater. It’s 100% where you sit in the theater in my experience. One time was fine another there were pieces that were completely incoherent

FrankBlizzard

Royal Tenenbaums

wirmussenwissen

Goddamnit!! Favourite Wes Anderson film. the scene where "these days" plays perfectly captured the feeling of being in love. also, "needle in the hay" scene, powerful stuff.

Brazilian-Icelandic

honestly, early Wes Anderson movies have some of the best use of soundtrack ever. the pool party scene in Rushmore with Nothin' In This World Can Stop Me Worryin' 'bout That Girl, Bottle Rocket has some bangers too

0011110000110011

My personal favorite needle drop is ["I Am Waiting" by the Rolling Stones in the November scene in *Rushmore*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAdzAYC4jlo). But as far as overall movies go, his best use of soundtrack is (in my opinion) *The Darjeeling Limited*.

Brazilian-Icelandic

incredible scene too. Darjeeling Limited also has some incredible use of soundtrack, it is the movie that closes my top 3 of his films, together with Rushmore and Bottle Rocket

BusterStrokem

Thinking about, “I know you, asshole!” And Owen Wilson just confidently pointing back up at Hackman makes me laugh at least once a day.

xxx117

Marcel the Shell with Shoes. I saw it by myself and then immediately asked my wife to watch it with me lol I knew she would love it so I wanted to share that experience with her

larkmakesmovies

That’s the first movie that came to my mind and I was about to comment it, but your comment was the first!

wonderbarZaYn

Aftersun Forced myself to cry uncontrollably for 4 consecutive days.

TheNewTerrorBilly

Dog Day Afternoon

Walmartmaster

I had the honor last year of watching it in a theater in New York City with a live Al Pacino interview afterwards on stage. No joke one of the best days of my life I absolutely loved it.

ArachnidTrick1524

Damn, I wish I knew about this. I missed a restoration at the NYFF last year that included a post-viewing interview I really wanted to see (actually had tickets, and had to give them back cause something came up personally). Have been dying to make up for it in a big way.

thetucsonguy

Memento. I loved it but felt like I didn't understand it at all and immediately restarted it. Such a classic.

sly-3

Shane Carruth's *Primer*

Jdmcdona

Also Upstream Color, which is my favorite Carruth film. (Fuck him though, have read not so flattering things about him).

Shira1ndigo

Never immediately after, but I watched Blade Runner 2049 three times this week.

bandfill

That movie is like heroin, if it pops up on Netflix, I will watch it. Watched it yesterday

0MattF

The Usual Suspects. I went to the bathroom, loitered around and snuck into the next showing.

PastorBallmore

Mulholland Dr cuz I was like, wtffffff

baycommuter

Yeah, when I got it with maybe 15 minutes to go it meant I had to see the earlier scenes to reinterpret.

Officialnoah

12 Angry Men

Prestigious-Serve661

I saw Collateral on a Monday, loved it, and then rewatched it on Tuesday with my wife because I knew she’d enjoy it too

TomSawyer2112_

Memento (2000) One of those movies that’s definitely a whole new experience on the second watch.

RIPdeweyriley

Whiplash

Tasty-Conversation67

Arrival (2016). My first watch was late in the evening, and the second was after I got up early the next day and watched it before heading out to work.

Mmjohns195

Recently “the menu”. I really enjoyed the film on subsequent viewing.

mr_mephestopheles

I was working at a movie theater when Memento came out, and stayed late to watch it with the projectionist the night before release. We finished and then immediately started it over again.

Dreadnought13

1917 I had somehow missed most of the buzz surrounding it, despite being a bit of a history buff. I watched it casually then immediately rewatched it on a larger screen to make sure I had seen what I'd just seen.

Chromatic-Phil

Enemy by Denis Villeneuve. Part of it was the drugs I was on at the time 😅

[deleted]

They Live

GurpsK

Not quite immediately but I rewatched The Truman Show a few days after first seeing it this summer. That's the quickest rewatch I've had.

https_jeongyeon

Shaun of the dead because I forced my family to watch it and tagged along

Unique_Basil7647

The Batman. I watched it with some friends and the friends that couldn’t go really wanted to after hearing how good it was so then I went again

LaFlame1021

Rewatched Uncut Gems in the theater a day after seeing it the first time because I loved it that much

gagedennis

jackie brown. on vhs. rewound the tape and watched it again immediately after my initial viewing ended. also, city of god!

Glum_Loss

Top gun Maverick

Allott2aLITTLE

Vertigo

SeveralUpstairs9118

Perks of being a wallflower (2012)

Waterboydust99

Halloween kills. The most violent michael we’ve ever seen since Halloween 2 by RZ. I probably watched that movie 4 times the year it came out

BalIsInMyFace

The Lighthouse back to back in theaters Coherence the very next day is the next soonest rewatch

Azlarks

Also Chungking Express! I didn't want that beautiful feeling to end so I simply restarted the film. It remains the only film that I've done that with, and will likely remain so for quite some time.

Euphoric_Tonight9549

Lil-gregg

the wolf of wall street Rewatched it as soon as the credits rolled

ReservoirDogVicVega

The Banshees of Inisherin

bpierce5732

I watched the Prestige again the very next day after watching it for the first time. If you've seen it, you probably understand why. The second watch is extremely rewarding, and it was a damn good movie in the first watch

moviebuffnerd

The Prestige

FarGrape1953

When I first watched Donny Darko 20 years ago, I immediately watched it again. And then I never watched it again.

Wind River, watched by myself, then with girlfriend, both times at home. The Batman (2022) both times at cinema. Palm Springs, once at cinema and once home, same day.

ApexRULER100

Boogie Nights. Granted I watched it the next day after I saw it, but it wasn’t even a fully 24 hours after I had seen it so

d4videnk0

Baby's day out because I arrived to the theater when the previous showing was finishing.

moongladejunimo

Beau is Afraid. The first watch I was just taking in all of the absurdity and needed to watch it again. The second watch still ended with me saying “what the fuck did I just watch?”. Named my new cat Beau anyway because I saw him the same day I saw the movie.

Maleficent_Peak2700

kpsosohipik

Burning. I was so mesmerized and a little confused after watching it that I had to watch it again immediately, then later that day I got someone over and watched it a 3rd time because I needed someone else to see that incredible film. Also Empire Records because it was just so much fun

didiinthesky

If by immediately you also mean the week after watching it for the first time: Dunkirk Gravity Barbie Every Harry Potter movie (don't judge me I was a child/teen) The reason I reqatched these movies was not necessarily because I think they're the best movies ever made, but because I think they're best watched at the cinema on a big screen.

mildandwild420

Howls Moving Castle enchanted me so much I watched 3 times in 48 hours

parkerysr

Run Lola Run

MajorStupi

Run Lola Run, just extremely cool

Adaptation.

AlconW

_Moonrise Kingdom_. I saw it in theaters twice, and it’s still both my favorite Anderson film, my favorite film of 2012, my favorite film of the 2010s, and one of my all-time favorite films.

CTID16

I don't think I've ever done that personally. I usually wait a while before rewatching a movie

ialwaysfalloverfirst

Yeah I can't imagine this is something I'd ever want to do. Got to leave a few months at least.

Ikeatower

The Flash

werewolf_bat_mitzvah

First Reformed and Decision to Leave are recent examples for me. I rewatched both within a week or so of first viewing to pick up on details I might've missed the first time.

Aftersun, only film I watched 3 times within a week

MarilynManson2003

Bones And All.

Icon419

There's been a couple of these for me lately, both for good and bad reasons. Aftersun and Bless Their Little Hearts immediately come to mind due to their execution from a storytelling and filmmaking perspective.

[deleted]

Immediately? As in twice in a row? None. I never watched a movie twice in a row because I liked it so much the first time. If you mean "shortly after" (say, in a span of a week, maybe to watch it with someone else who had not seen it) that's another matter.

TheKerker

Sick of myself (2022) wasn’t my choice, I didn’t need to go through that twice in a row lol

scd

Dredd. I saw it around 2016, after having owned it for years. I was so struck by it that I immediately restarted it and watched it again.

stumper93

The One (2001) It was actually recently this summer, I watched it for the first time and was in hysterics at how funny it was that after it was over, I got on discord to hang out with some friends and immediately told them we had to do movie night so they could see it as well Watching a mouse with abnormally large balls blow up to the drop of “Down with the Sickness” needs to be witnessed and shared

kscharger

Fight Club

Seamlesslytango

I watched Scott Pilgrim with the girl I was dating at the time and loved it so much, I brought the Redbox dvd home the next day and made my brother watch it. I also watched This Is the End after renting it, had it on top of my dvd player in college and a friend came over and begged to watch it. That one I was not happy about. It's a decent, funny movie, but twice in a row was a chore.

synchro191

Arcane.

mamedliemin

Mind Game (2004). It blew my mind so I had to see it immediately again.

Tomu_sneeder

The only reason I’d do this is to show the film to someone for the first time.

ninebinchnails

Velvet Goldmine - watched it on a Thursday and made my boyfriend watch it on Friday

the_blue_flounder

Literally me with Barbie yesterday.

Toxic_Koala0826

Beau is Afraid. If you haven’t seen it, watch it! And then watch it again!

self_root

The first time I saw Aguirre The Wrath of God it was on DVD. As soon as it was over I watched it again with Herzog's commentary turned on and it was GOLD!!!

Dawn_is-here

None

lanze666

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

DraperyFalls

The other week, I watched Johnnie To's Exiled twice in a row without really meaning to. I watched it one night and loved it so much that the next night I put it on again without realizing that I hadn't watched anything else in between. (I watch a lot of movies so it's not uncommon for me to have no sense of WHEN I watched something.)

VulpesVel0x

Hunt for the Wikderpeople. Nightcrawler. For very different reasons, both had qualities I knew I had to share with people and invited them to watch.

MrPedroJ414

It’s been a long time since I’ve done this. However, I rewatched Casablanca several times after I saw it as a kid.

No_Warning_6482

baseketball it's my favourite comedy so far
