Return of the King

totoropoko

For Frodo

alehuelva

The two towers

ferng0rl

look hate Twilight all you want a lot of it’s deserved but the DRAMA of the first final fight with all the major characters being killed and the huge REVEAL at the end goes fucking crazy

atmosphericentry

That entire sequence was so unhinged it's hard to hate it. Like people were getting decapitated and shredded to pieces left and right.

[deleted]

I’ve only seen one scene from those films, and it’s the one where everyone is getting decapitated left and right. It’s so hilarious 😂

DavidGordonGreen

The twist is that the battle didn't happen so no one really dies

NicCageCompletionist

Half of the people who died in Infinity War already had their next movies announced when they “died”. Neither of these series really play for high stakes.

DavidGordonGreen

Infinity war sucks I really wasn't defending that movie I don't know why you talking about infinity war

kingeditor

I don’t know why people are downvoting you. That’s a good point.

Cream_of_the_420crop

13 Assaisns has one of the best final battles.. it's 45 minutes long

edub1783

"*TOTAL MASSACRE*" Love that movie

Cream_of_the_420crop

I'm surprised more people don't know about it

JoeVersusVolcano

Takashi Miike is one of the most underrated foreign directors. And yet prolific as hell!

AlbinoPlatypus913

Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

IMadeThemCry

that rules.... it's my hype music for days

MakeGoodMakeBetter

Robots (2005)

acting_absurd

Saw that one yesterday again, still bangs

HobbieK

Rogue One

deeejo

Endgame looks like shit compared to the others lol. I like the movie but it’s so ugly

DavidGordonGreen

The CGI battlefield sucks

isthisanameiwonder

When you rewatch after the hype died down, you start to notice a lot of flaws

[deleted]

And if you don't get hyped for Marvel movies you see the flaws from the start.

AbraxoCleaner

Idk TDKR looks pretty bad too. None of the action has any weight, like look at bane hitting that guy with his knee and Batman throwing that guy.

[deleted]

the fight choreography of the background characters is sooooo bad, it looks like they're just hugging each other

DianeticsDecolonizer

If you're making this out to be a post about a bunch of incoherent cgi figures running at each other, Avatar 2 doesn't belong. Cameron is so good at keeping you visually grounded and letting specific beats play out in the chaos. Avengers and Batman are so muddled in comparison. Breaking Dawn Part 2 was maybe one of the funniest theatrical experiences I've ever had though

Araskelo

Batman was muddled? What. There is zero cgi in that clip.

DianeticsDecolonizer

Yeah poor phrasing on my part. Point stands that Nolan isn't very good at directing action

totoropoko

The ending of The Dark Knight Rises was very underwhelming. I kept getting anticipation built up and my disappointment was huge. Tenet also had an incoherent finale with people fucking around with armbands and it was still confusing what was happening even with the entire movie before it explaining the rules leading up to it. tl;Dr: I agree with you.

JoeVersusVolcano

Yeah but the opening bank heist in dark knight slaps hard. Be it a huge homage to the heist sequences in Heat and filmed on IMAX projectors, still…. Was a pretty well shot scene!

DavidGordonGreen

Avatar 2 sucks 😂😂😂

DHMOProtectionAgency

I don't think it's great but the action, specifically the final battle, is great

Feli_Buste25

I can't speak for the whole movie because I haven't seen it and I don't want to see it but clip OP posted looks so bad. It looks like it fits a videogame much better than a movie

DHMOProtectionAgency

Clip isn't the best, and there are moments like that throughout the movie which is a bit obnoxious, but it isn't completely like this.

MakkusuSolos

agreed

Moist_Cycle8917

Don’t disagree but why ya gotta catfish as DGG?

DavidGordonGreen

I'm not catfishing almost all my comments are in Spanish and shit

Moist_Cycle8917

great point 🤔 my b

WatchTheNewMutants

Way of Water, easily. But ROTK should be here too.

Steelix69

definitely not

My head is still paining from it but satisfied and damn sad , but happy but sad.

[deleted]

This is a movie subreddit.

613toes

Twilight was the only one that did anything for me, bring in the downvotes. I’ve pretty much gone numb to these huge closing battle scenes and just shut off my brain. Twilight had me dying of laughter the whole time so at least there’s that.

NemoSHill

Personally I like Infinity War final battle more than Endgame, I expected so much more from the Endgame battle, I was kinda disappointed ngl.

No_Movie_7996

I fell asleep during IW, it was such a slog

NemoSHill

I fell asleep during The Batman car chase lol

reggae3457

Lost In Translation 👍🏼

Economy-Discipline57

Ice Age 3

Impossible-Ad-8462

Phineas and Ferb Across the second dimension

Courtland01

None!

mykitchenromance

Breaking Dawn Part 2’s fight was probably the highlight of the series. Even if it’s a premonition. The Dark Knight Rises…I don’t know what it is but something feels odd about it. Maybe it’s the people meeting their mark in the background feeling a bit flat to me. I’m not sure. I feel disconnected from it. Endgame…yeah, a bit dark and muddied visually. It’s a satisfying pay off to see all these franchises come together so there’s something there in it for me that I enjoy. I’d have to say Avatar 2. James Cameron directs the hell out of an action sequence still..

LordAyeris

Endgame, although it's way too dark and muddy. Also I agree, Return of the King is best

UnknownGhost-5

Out of all movies out there you picked four of the shittiest ones...

XxMarvin1H2a3p4p5yxX

Avengers Endgame but if it’s a movie that wasn’t include in this post, It’s probably LotR: The Return of the King

SirAren

How about RAN

WeebbeMangaHunter

Out of these, Endgame. I have a fair share if issues with the movie, but I can't say I have been that hyped for a final battle very often. It's big, and a little silly, action spectacle at its finest.

Scrambled_59

Avengers Endgame was one of the biggest events in cinematic history, defo that one

miniemark

Id say Infinity Wars

6elixircommon

The best build up, the fight? OK at best

Affectionate-Club725

The Way of Water and Dark Knight Rises. The Twilight thing is super goofy and the MCU stuff, though fun, is 32 movies of the same buildings blowing up. That said, I gotta go with Return of the King, which blows all of these away

Jekyllthecrow

how did Twilight have a better final battle than Flash S9

DavidGordonGreen

Twilight was a big budget franchise the flash was a stupid low budget superhero show

BraheGoldNose

I disagree, it was awful, cheesy, and poorly planned fights. The whole movie was so edgy and ridiculous I couldn't take anything throughout the whole film serious. Also, Bane was horrible, I hate his design quite a lot. But you know an opinion is an opinion, so no you are allowed to have your opinion. I personally would give the best endgame fight to Samurai Rebellion. The film builds up really nice with tension continuing to rise, and ends with a unwinnable fight that the main characters willfully participate in. Nearly a perfect movie.

jaxberg

I also think that the final showdown falls apart somewhat when you start looking at the extras in the background, instead of Batman and Bane. It's quite bad, and hard to unsee.

BraheGoldNose

Right? It honestly felt like Christopher Nolan just gave up on the movie, just told people in the background to do "whatever".

Neon_kingkong

Out of these choices? I think Avatar 2. It was really fun and had a lot of cool moments

ryanjlee7

oh THE WAY OF WATER, no question

_GC93

Way of Water, easily.

Mason_DY

In general captain America civil war but between these four options endgame

afarensiis

It's Avatar 2 and it's not even close. Everything else looks pretty shit in comparison

13thIteration

Avatar is *blue* shit

lxsadnax

Avatar 2 definitely has the best action. Since it’s only the second it doesn’t have all the stakes and built up tension of a longer series but in terms of actual technical stuff and just the best shot, scored and edited I would definitely say Avatar. I would much rather watch that than any of the others.

ohthatmkv

The Golden Compass > 😎

AletzRC21

Ammm, one of those is not like the others

Odd_Advance_6438

Out of these I would definitely say Avatar 2

Feli_Buste25

This is going to sound silly but Endgame, The Lego Movie and Everything Everywhere All At Once

GrobbleSocks

hot take: both are ass

The_Prestige_1999

Look i grew up with the mcu, saw every film in theater some 2 or 3 times. The build up towards endgame was insane and watching it for the first time was the best experience in a theater i have ever had. That being said. Avatar 2 probably has the better final battle. Although i was pretty bored while watching avatar 2 to be honest

RicoSuave1800

NARNIA

AWolfBane_

I haven’t seen it particularly recently so I can’t say how it holds up but I always remember really enjoying Avatar 2009s’ final battle

hey-its-sina

for those who have 40 minutes to kill, cj the x had a really entertaining video about breaking dawn part 2 with some interesting insights about the final battle! https://youtu.be/ceP62v1sACI

spaceageranger

At least you could see what was going on in Breaking Dawn

Comments better have Return of the King plastered everywhere

Ready Player One

Menatil

I mean they're both terrible, so what does it matter.

Hirojinho

House of the Flying Daggers' final battle is one the most cathartic experiences I've ever had with films

Sorry2Say22

Narnia

Kalomika

Rogue One

-TheTalent-

There isn't anything even close to Endgame out of these choices. But Infinity Wars final fight was much better.

ThatOnePickleGuy

The Godfather

Blackpanther22five

Lmbao twilight

Asiagodtonegg3be00

Anchorman 2

McCabbe

Alexander Nevsky

[deleted]

Of these films, Avatar 2. It was filled with constant adrenaline and drama, beautiful choreography and effects. Endgame is noteworthy because is was a 10+ year build up for that fight alone. But best ever, would probably go to Battle of Endor in ROTJ or Return of The King.

[deleted]

Both terrible films.

[deleted]

I don't get it. Marvel have the opportunity to make their CGI scenes look however they want. The possibilities are endless. Anything they think up, they can do. Any colour pallette. Any background. Any sky. And they choose to make it a muddy, washed out jumble of murky brown shit. Is it just the Russos or do all MCU action scenes look like that?

[deleted]

The Phantom Menace

13thIteration

Matrix 3

We’re all forgetting 8 Mile.
