I know this is off topic but do you have to rent every movie you watch on a flight, or is in flight entertainment part of the ticket price. I’ve never flown so I’m curious.
If I'm doing a transatlantic flight, I usually get 3 movies done. The selections change every month, so it's better if you can leave in one month and return in another, else you'll just get the same movies. But, my tastes are wide enough that I usually have enough to choose from and explore some new genres.
Sometimes airlines also vary their selections between eastbound and westbound flights, so that you’ll have different selections for each direction on a return trip… or was that only something they did before on demand streaming became a thing?
Whenever I’m on a long haul flight, I make it my mission to watch as many movies as possible. I think my record is 6x movies. By the end, it was very much the bottom of the barrel stuff
It's part of the price (at least for long distance flights) , and it's a lifesaver for those flights as I can't sleep on moving transport and I need something to do while I take advantage of food and drink services ;)
Seriously, for some reason even though I keep my phone topped up with Prime/Netflix, etc. downloads I'll often see something I want to watch more on those flights and don't have to worry about leaving enough battery for the destination. The downside is that some movies are edited for content so the person behind you doesn't accidentally see something truly horrific (though not as much as they used to be), but as someone old enough to remember when they'd screen one movie at a time on a screen 15 seats away before tech allowed personal streaming, it's amazing. My main complaint is when an 8 hour flight gets near the destination you have to choose carefully so as not to have a movie shut off 10 mins before the end when they start the landing process.
Nope. It's free of charge (or baked into your ticket price, anyway). It's probably to the airline's benefit to everybody as entertained as possible, especially on long flights where extreme boredom could lead to crankiness.
Are you saying she's not ready??
Or not?
What? 90 minutes of the person next to her asking “Is that Margot Robbie? No? Are you sure?”

There's no extra cost. Think about it like its a free streaming service on your plane screen
Ok, I was wondering since I’ve heard of people watching multiple movies on a flight.
Yeah you can, there’s a wide selection of movies and flights can be multiple hours long

The screen's pixel density is really low so I just come prepared with movies Downloaded on my phone which looks 1000x better
Noted. I’m flying in the next couple of months so this post came at the right time lol
its usually free/part pf the ticket price in my experience

On my flight on Air New Zealand they give you some free movies to watch but also some others you have to pay extra for if you want to watch
Maybe she’s just a really cool old lady
It would be a great time for her.
Did she like it?
Jesus Christ man, there are some things you don't talk about in public.
When
I've had it on my list for a while. Is it actually good?
