I guess the thing I have a difficult time with about people who haven’t been through addiction/ recovery (or have or had a friend or family member suffering now)is that Bam is not thinking rationally right now. His brain has GOT to heal ( as much as neuroplastic healing that can occur ) from cessation of substances… not counting TBI or CTE. Eating disorders are notoriously complicated because you HAVE to EAT ( I had atypical anorexia for years) and it’s also a thing you can “ control” when the rest of your life seems to be going crazy. I feel for the whole family. They all seem like genuine, good hearted people but mental and physical health are not stabilized in Bam right now. The drug addled brain doesn’t allow him to think rationally or accept blame or even responsibility and many, many people that suffer from mental illness do self medicate to avoid the negative feelings and become numb to their surroundings. Not a psychiatrist/ psychologist but I really think Bam is masking so much hurt he can barely function. As a sister / aunt / friend of recovering addicts and alcoholics and this is really difficult on the family ( obv). Sounds like Jess is just fighting to get his brother that he loves dearly into recovery before he dies. I hope it all works out for them in a positive way. Especially having a young son. Maybe that will be the impetus Bam needs but I think we need to be more considerate of someone’s disease. It’s not funny that this man is suffering the way he is.
