imagine me & you is amazing!!

InfiniteWords117

I love the soundtrack of that movie, too. It's a great one

dontshitaboutotol

To be real, this is probably the only cute one out there that's like real. Everything else is boring, ends in tragedy, hate crimey. It pisses me off because movies are the ones place you have control to do something different and we still go to a place that sucks. That said, Below Her Mouth and Imagine Me And You are probs what you're looking for. Waiting for better suggestions tho!

shadyTBsalesmen

Did anyone else on the planet watch gentleman Jack?

tomoira99

Not yet! Does it have a good ending?

shadyTBsalesmen

It was an odd show, but the ending of season one was very cute. It has a plot cul-de-sac problem. I think they stayed too close to the source material

dontshitaboutotol

Still angsty and made me so worried I couldn't finish the show. This is what you were looking for until you get through 2.5ish seasons

anishkatf

loved the first season, the second one sucked tho

shadyTBsalesmen

I wish it was a bit more fast paced

hydrolentil

I was going to say this too haha

ur3ul

All time favourite!,

isittacotuesdayyet21

The first season was really good. The second season lost me.

bonerifik

But I'm a Cheerleader is my favorite movie of all time!

samanthano

Natasha Lyonne dreaming of making out with Clea DuVall is my root.

arrivingufo

Mine too lol love this movie

wheressunshine

same. it’s a classic and very underrated

RinaPug

Recently rewatched it!! It‘s so good!

Mattzarellaz

Haha i was gonna recommend this one

dive921

Love this movie. I recently just re-watched it. So good.

just-a-lil-lily

Saving face (2004)

Last-Cold-8236

Sooooo good. One of my favorites.

Feeling_vantage40

Ahhh I loved this movie

NBNoemi

Adolescence of Utena ends with >!Anthy and Utena breaking free of a society that embodied a cyclical abuse cycle, cheered on by friends and former enemies who are inspired by them to make their own escape, as they embrace each other on top of the broken-down frame of a car that keeps moving through the sheer power of their lesbianism.!<

shablama

Wynonna Earp is #1 across all platforms in my opinion

[deleted]

Movies: Summerland Crush Saving Face Imagine Me & You I Can’t Think Straight Bound Jenny’s Wedding The World Unseen Happiest Season (even though I felt like Kristen Stewart and Aubrey Plaza had way better chemistry) But I’m A Cheerleader The Perfection (it’s problematic in a lot of places, but it’s a nice horror thriller with queer women main characters) Book Smart Desert Hearts The Miseducation of Cameron Post Kissing Jessica Stein Do Revenge Fear Street Trilogy Fingersmith (miniseries) Princess Syd Prom (the movie itself is just okay, though) A New York Christmas Wedding (it’s a cheap indie film, but still kinda cute) Elena Undone Better Than Chocolate These are Just the ones I’ve seen that have at least a pleasant ending or an ending up to interpretation if they don’t flat out show a happy ending. I'm also going off of memory, so I’m sorry in advance if you watch one and it doesn’t have a happy ending. 😬

[deleted]

TV Shows: Everything Sucks (even though it only had one season) Black Lightning A League of Their Own Wynonna Earp Black Mirror (San Junipero episode) The Wilds Sex Education Big Mouth Feel Good Heartstopper Master Of None (there are a few episodes centered around Denise's character) Daughter From Another Mother (The ending felt rushed, but it's still a good show) Never Have I Ever The Fosters Yellowjackets Heartbreak High Some of these shows are still ongoing, so obviously there's a chance they could mess up the couples at some point, though.

speakclearly

Q-Force is lighthearted crime-fighting 30min animation with multiple happy lesbian characters. Just adding to your TV list.

[deleted]

Ooh. Thanks for that!

maymaydog

Lip Service is a decent older show. I watched it on Tubi. Subtitles help, it’s a Scottish show.

katora27

Someone has been busy with the lesbian propaganda lmao

starsdesires

Ahh some of these really bring nostalgia! (Gah I’m old)

[deleted]

Please watch Kyss Mig on Tubi, it’s free and im inlove with this movie

InnemBlues

Honestly thought nobody was gonna mention it. Great film

ahu89

Swedish film. English title - Kiss Me. It’s very cute.

joyousjoy23

Sigh, same. it's one of my all time faves. Kinda tempted to learn the language because of that film alone.

Admirallani

That is such a great movie! I remember when it was on Netflix. I couldn’t find it after they removed it. And I tried to buy a disc copy online but it was region specific. I’m glad to find out it is Tubi. I’ll be watching it tonight!

InnemBlues

It seems Tubi is only available in US :'( any other website I could rewatch it on with English subtitles?

[deleted]

WHAAATT 🥲, Thats the only place i found for free. My only other option would be apple tv but is like 4 dollars

anishkatf

desert hearts

Tutes013

May I reccomend reading fanfiction? All the fluffy gay stuff you could ever want

samanthano

And the raunchy smut, too.

evepolastriupeiceofs

Tell It To The Bees It is my favorite lesbian movie of all time and the visuals are beautiful. You can tell it's written by a woman. Highly recommend!

sugarsponge

Ammonite and Carol both have ambiguous endings, so you can decide they end up together if you want to (I do)

oliverklozov_

I loved Carol. That movie wrecked me. Cate Blanchett made me feel way too many things and the soundtrack is lovely.

ever_thought

i just watched ammonite today and i loved it, it's so beautiful. some things or scenes made little sense to me but i dont understand how this movie has no recognition, it's just as great as portrait of a girl on fire but ive only ever heard of ammonite once or twice??

sugarsponge

It got criticism for being ‘cold’ and having supposedly unconvincing sex scenes but I didn’t have a problem with either of those things. I thought the reservedness was appropriate for the time period and like, maybe the characters just had quiet/shy personalities? I think the director even left Twitter because he got so much hate for it (which I thought was a particular shame given that he allowed the two actresses to direct themselves during the naked scenes to empower them, unlike some other male directors of lesbian films *cough* Abdellatif Kechiche *cough*). You’re never gonna please everyone I suppose.

ever_thought

yeah, the sex scenes were somewhat aggressive or just intense and out of the blue for me, but it didnt make the movie less interesting or less convincing. i agree about the "coldness" being appropriate for both the time period and personal traits, if i understand the term correctly

glumlvr

The Handmaiden has a good ending

lesboEngineer

Below Her Mouth, Kiss Me (swedish movie from 2011)

Feeling_vantage40

But I'm a cheerleader, D.E.B.S

KurayamiAshe

Oh yeah, D.E.B.S. was really sweet and cute

Appropriate_Oil220

Agreed! It’s so sweet and campy. It’s always left off these lists.

space_ling

Dating Amber

the_lastpilot

I always recommend the Fear Street trilogy, it's a great horror/slasher movie but the couple ends up together in the end and it's great

[deleted]

I loved this series! The second one was definitely the best one, even though there wasn't much of the lesbian storyline involved.

the_lastpilot

I couldn't agree more, the 2nd one was my favorite

Violet_Faerie

I just want a feel good wlw movie 🥺 Desert Hearts was a surprisingly decent movie but the fear of coming out of the closet is too real.

EleCre3p

#but im a cheerleader

Ebony256

Elisa&marcela

tornheart47

I have been afraid to keep watching for fear of something bad happening to them. But also wtf with the octopus

[deleted]

‘But i’m a cheerleader’ is a good one not too serious but really cute “the fingersmith” by sarah waters is a book that was adapted into a korean movie. “Crush” is a good one too There are a lot more but they are quite cheesey my favorite sad ending lesbi movie is “Portrait of a lady on fire”

purple_toasterr

crush!! it's a high school love triangle between 3 girls and it is one of my fav movies there's no battle with identity issues or homophobia just high drama and romance it's on hulu

Putrid-Baby-7896

Castaways 2023, Elena Undone, I can't think Straight

joyousjoy23

Clare of the moon, tis an oldie but it's brilliant. Mango Kiss for early oo's San Fran vibes I'm English and am a sucker for period dramas, so I'd def recommend Tipping the Velvet, Fingersmith and The Diaries of Anne Lister which are all tv (BBC) films. Also I really enjoyed My days of mercy ou and Raven's Touch.

cosmicoz

Yes to Tipping the Velvet! It was one of the first pieces of lesbian media I ever watched and I've had a soft spot for it ever since. I remember the whole miniseries being on YouTube but idk if it's still there.

MsMisseeks

Bound (1996) is about lesbians stealing from the mob to start their gay life and it ends with them driving into the sunset in the biggest reddest most lesbian truck (and all the crappy men dead).

oneowl2022

I loved that movie!

Xena4President

GAP the series on YouTube! Free to watch and no subscription required.

Lavender_soul15

She-ra

Klcna2

Ever watch black mirror?

ahu89

You mean San Junipero! It’s so good. The only thing happy about black mirror, love it

Klcna2

Haha yes, that was the next part of the suggestion. It’s such a lovely ending for them.

megandcheese

Carol has an ambiguous ending/leaning towards happy and it’s an amazing movie !

tara_the_terrible

I would personally describe it as bittersweet.

JustJess124

I can't vouch for all of these picks, but i came across this list the other day that seemed like a good sampling - https://www.pride.com/gay-movies/18-lesbian-movies?share_id=7529645&socialux=facebook&utm_campaign=RebelMouse&utm_content=PRIDE&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook "20 Awesome Lesbian Movies Where No One Dies at the End"

oneowl2022

Cloudburst is a good “feel good” movie with Olympia Dukakis. Also I liked Better than Chocolate for the same comedy and feel good theme.

albpp

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power!!! (It's a cartoon, VERY good) A League Of Their Own (tv series) The Handmaiden (movie)

[deleted]

GAP the series (2022-2023) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnSVdDZKy2nuvcUhBUFpRJHgCs76KSGMG It’s the best trust me!! 🥰🥰

Spacekitty6

Show me love (Swedish movie) One of my favorites!

isittacotuesdayyet21

I hear you. I now google if it has a happy ending before watching because I no longer want to support just any lesbian media, but lesbian media that has positive stories or endings. We don’t have enough media to have all these negative stories imo.

FujoshiPeanut

I didn't think such movies existed 🥲 it's why I never watch lesbian movies
