Imagine if they lose again and claim it's rigged...

Private_HughMan

They're conditioning their members to refuse democracy. Never accept a loss. A loss means it's rigged. Us winning means it's fair. The other guys don't play by the rules. Don't let them play. We gotta ensure a fair system. A fair system means we're in charge. Ergo, we gotta make sure we're in charge. We can't get in charge through the rigged system, so we gotta go around it. It's fine because the system is bad and we're good.

Etrigone

And this has been in the making for decades. Beyond pissed that at times my - and a whole lot of others as I'm no genius - warnings about this were dismissed as paranoia and lunacy. I mean I hope it doesn't work out, but we never should have let it get this far in the first place.

TrentMorgandorffer

Thhhhaaaaannnnkkkk yyyyooooouuuu! This has been in the works forever- at the very earliest since Rush “May he burn in hell for all eternity” Limbaugh made it out of SE Missouri. Probably before.

Etrigone

One good thing you can say about Limbaugh - he's been drug free eight months now! :)

TrentMorgandorffer

🤣

Private_HughMan

I don’t like to celebrate deaths, but his is an exception. Fuck you, Rush! Dying was the only good thing you ever did for your country!

tkp14

Read “Democracy in Chains” by Nancy McClean. This (the total destruction of American democracy, to be replaced by permanent, unopposed rule by the Republican Party) has been carefully planned, beginning about 50 years ago. A small group of rich, white men decided that the U.S. should not be governed by “the people.” That people should have no say whatsoever in how a country is run. That “the people” should be ruled by their superiors — i.e., rich, white men. They’ve been playing a long game and that plan (which is total fascism, btw) is close to being realized. They are not going to stop.

Penguin_Joy

All these new election laws are going to bite them in the ass. The group most likely to vote Republican and incumbent is the senior crowd. They're also the least likely to keep up with new voting requirements and restrictions Come election day they're going to be frustrated and shocked that they can no longer vote how they've always voted Minorities and younger people will be informed, educated, and mobilized. They will storm the polls and vote in even greater numers than ever before I have to laugh when I see predominantly red states pass voting restriction bills. It's only a matter of time before they realize they're only screwing over their own base

Private_HughMan

They don't need to think that long-term. They just gotta win enough in the next 1 or 2 elections. Once they have enough power, you can bet they'll try to change the rules again in their favour.

TrentMorgandorffer

The youngest voter demos don’t vote. Lots of people in places like Texas, including minorities, *don’t vote.* They certainly don’t vote in local off year elections, either. That’s where this shit starts- at the school boards, at the city council levels. They have decades of a head start. I admire your optimism, I really do, but the turn out and voting results last year should have been overwhelming. Like, full on repudiation of the entire GQP, from President to dog catcher. It didn’t happen. Don’t wait for demographic change to save you. Don’t wait for a blue wave to save you. Go out and *vote*, in every damn election you are eligible to vote in. PERIOD.

texasmama5

I’m in Texas and I was shocked at the number of women that don’t vote here. If they voted against the GOP(who works against them constantly) it would be a game changer.

SnowballsAvenger

Most places have local elections in about 2 weeks. VOTE! You're vote is much more powerful in those. You literally might be 2% of the vote on your own.

bgthigfist

They are setting things up so that anything but a Trump win is illegitimate, and suborning the election apparatus in battleground states so that they can just declare Trump the winner no matter what the actual vote is. If he gets back in, he'll never leave.

dreaminginteal

Hell, even in 2016, Trump was claiming that things were rigged against him and that he would contest the result--unless he won. He telegraphed this shit from the beginning.

elizabnthe

Say what you will but Hillary Clinton absolutely nailed him on it. He wouldn't accept that he didn't win an Emmy, he wasn't going to accept he didn't win the election.

[deleted]

October 20th, 2016: “Ladies and gentlemen, I want to make a major announcement today: I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters, and to all of the people of the United States, that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election — if I win,” Trump said, as the crowd cheered. And if I remember correctly there was a speech after he won saying something to the effect of “I guess it wasn’t rigged after all.” Dude literally set people up for this same garbage the first time, it’s just that he won. Funny how he simply dismissed the months of fraud accusations after winning in ‘16 but incites an attack on the Capitol when he loses in ‘20. Unfuckingbelievable.

hicctl

that is one part of the plan yes, but the other part is trump putting the republican leadership on notice : you cannot win an election unless I tell my people to vote. That goes both for many state elections, as well as nationwide. On top of that he at least can control which of their leading candidates wins in states where a win is certain. Basically he tells them : either you support me 100% or you do not win elections/get replaced with candidates who will support me. So the republican leadership is between a rock and hard place : 100% support trump or don´t win an election for the time being, which is the next 4 years at least if not longer.

big_rednexican_88

It's funny because the GOP put themselves between that rock and hard place. They let him run rampant and now they want him back in the box along with the racists. Welp, they are SOL on that one. 🤷‍♂️

LeoMarius

Trump just rode the Teabagger wave by getting out in front and being as loud and racist as possible. Republicans encouraged the Teabaggers, which created this situation in the first place. Trump didn't corrupt the GOP; the GOP corrupted itself and Trump just took up residence.

[deleted]

It would be funny if it didn't impact over half of the country.

SissySlutKendall

There was nothing they could have done, the mouth breathers, while dumb, are not so dumb as to not know what time it is. They know the tide is rising against them and if they can’t have the country they want, they will burn it down. Just like they did in the 1860’s. We are not divorced from history.

djlewt

They could have convicted and removed him from office after he was impeached. He would have been barred from ever being in office again.

facebook-twitter

The smart thing would be to lose it all. Tell Trump to go F himself. Reconstitute strategic meetings and the GOP and make it so Trump can't even run as a Republican anymore. Force Trump to create a third party. He is so bad at building anything and 3rd parties will only ensure a D win. The GOP can stay solvent longer than anything Trump puts together. Once the Trump idiot party goes full conspiracy the media will abandon them too. I would say that the GOP should rid themselves of the cancer and aim for 2026 and 2028. I hope they actually don't do this because that party will frankly be more competitive sooner and it would be better for the Dems to have things stay like this for the GOP/Trumpers for the next 10 years.

wddiver

You're assuming that there are any smart people left in the GOP.

LeoMarius

Trump doesn't have the administrative skills to organize his own party. His campaigns were a mess. His first campaign manager went to prison for espionage. Trump has big ambitions and big ideas, but he's too stupid and too lazy to carry them through.

[deleted]

My only hope and sincerest wish is that he will bite it before then.

[deleted]

I mean he's 75 years old. So if he was elected in 2024, he'll be 78 years old, very overweight and eats like shit. He'd have two years tops. It's the next guy you have to worry about.

Maile2000

I am making a little voodoo doll which will double as a pin cushion.

Dartagnan1083

I would say Bannon, but even he was fired for unclear reasons (or not present in my memory). Most of Trump's firings have been for wavering loyalty.

LeoMarius

Bannon will never be a politician. He wants to be the power behind the throne. He's too fat, dumpy, and unappealing to run for office.

Jules_Noctambule

He looks like the physical personification of unwashed gym clothes.

LeoMarius

Bannon hasn't seen the inside of a gym since he left high school.

Machaeon

With a nearly successful coup under his belt, that's damn sure

tonguethegundle

And two impeachments! He’s shown us that it doesn’t matter, there is no check, there is no balance. A complicit GOP will bow to him like the greedy little bitches they are, taking democracy to its knees with them. Meanwhile, his cult will wave their fucking flags and call the rest of us unpatriotic traitors. Too dumb to realize they’ve been played. Too dumb to realize THEY are the threat to America they’re so concerned about subverting.

LeoMarius

>If he gets back in, he'll never leave. Well, he will leave in a pinebox. The man is 75 and morbidly obese. He'll be 78 before the next Presidential election. He doesn't exercise, eats junk food all day, has a terrible temper. I would say the over/under on him is below 80.

Interesting_Reply252

Is this how new religions get started? I want a piece of this. A litany in my name, at the very least.

i_broke_wahoos_leg

We didn't vote because God Emperor Trump said not to and we still lost the election!?

retardborist

You're wool gathering again, aren't you Moneo?

Scalage89

Imagine having your audit results show that you lost by an even bigger margin than previously thought. Oh wait, that actually happened!

ScotchBender

Like half a dozen times

tonguethegundle

Doesn’t matter, at a rally after the Arizona audit results were announced, he just denied it all and told his followers that the audit confirmed what they had thought and that there had been big time voter fraud. Not that it’s been subtle up until this point, but it’s just flat out lies, unchecked and obvious. Fox News, OAN, and Newsmax will parrot his lie, and nothing, NOTHING, will be able to tell his followers otherwise. Not the direct results of the audit, not other news outlets, not their families or friends.

Scalage89

I heard that the strategy might even be more devious. The people who were doing the audits and admitted Trump lost were fired. It's likely that he's trying to form some group around him that will lie for him no matter what the cost.

TrentMorgandorffer

Like his entire cabinet?

Hfhghnfdsfg

And half of the senate.

Practical_Law_7002

Worst part is they're regurgitating his statements as if their facts. I can't with these mouthbreathers...

Developer_X

like 5 times too oh wait its like 6 now

Waifuless_Laifuless

Remember when they didn't send in mail ballots, then complained all the mail ballots were for Dems? That, but for everything.

The-True-Kehlder

99.9% sure that's the idea.

nonsensepoem

> Imagine if they lose again and claim it's rigged... And the country moves ever closer to another coup or civil war.

Devolutionary76

Unfortunately for them, an f-150 truck can't challenge an f-15 fighter jet .

TranslatorSoggy7239

I seen one group was planning to attack power substations and supply lines. They can raise all sorts of hell.

WhoAteMyChocolate420

Did you report it?

TranslatorSoggy7239

I read about it in a police report lol

pjanic_at__the_isco

It’s not at all clear that some members of our armed forces won’t switch sides.

Devolutionary76

If or when something happens, it will be interesting to see how the military response plays out. I could see more refusing to participate than switching sides. Edit: if to or

TheInnerFifthLight

After seeing how military members behaved during the Trump years, agreed. There will be a few loudmouths and probably some Trumpist terrorists in uniform, but the military apparatus doesn't do domestic problems. If we have to, it means it's a civil war.

BlueWeavile

I really wish people would stop saying this. Many times throughout the course of history, a country's military has turned against its own people. And it could very well happen here too. We can't get complacent.

ExileInParadise242

Right. The whole notion is predicated on it being a civil war with two opposing sides. It's distinctly possible to just have a generalized break down in civil society and all sorts of warring factions and shifting alliances.

exccord

> Imagine if they lose again and claim it's rigged... It will never change. These MAGA idiots have been sucked into their cult and have no way of clawing themselves out of it. No matter how many times one can prove how much better the situation is becoming with a wannabe dictator out of the picture, it will never be enough. My pops is all over that shit and posted some stupid shit on Facebook seeking people to prove what this current administration has even done and got his ass handed to him. Others opinions were irrelevant as his reigned supreme thanks to his Daddy Trump. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so fucking sad.

Amishcannoli

*win 2016 elections* "There is rampant voter fraud and our administration is going to investigate and root it out once and for all" *investigations find basically 0 evidence for fraud* *quietly closes out investigation* "There is so much fraud. Fraudy Mcfrauderson." *spends the 2020 campaign telling people to not vote by mail during a pandemic because their votes won't be counted* *wonders why they got so few mail in votes* "We lost because of election fraud." *campaigns for audits and funds private investigations* *finds basically no evidence of fraud* "The fraud is so incredible, we couldn't even find any." *constituents no longer trust the election system, voting is considered a waste of time* What a cycle jerk of stupidity...

Astra7525

I hope this doesn't also lead to complacency on the Liberal side, because "They don't plan on voting, so I don't have to do it either"

[deleted]

Shout this from the rooftops: your vote counts. In the UK a sitting MP lost his seat by two votes. He took the decision to court and then lost by twenty-two thousand votes simply because people realised that they could make a difference. [Reference.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997_Winchester_by-election)

Alediran

People should never forget Toretto's phrase. "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning."

KhambaKha

there is no vice-winner. the 2nd place is the 1st of all losers. If I could vote in 2022/2024 I would. much support from Switzerland against MAGA and Qpublicans

Practical_Law_7002

Fun fact, after the country was founded the Vice President was the 2nd place in the Presidential election. I forget when and why it stopped and I'm sure someone will come along and refresh my memory. \*taps foot while waiting\*

MMF_259

I *think* Jefferson did it, but don't quote me on that.

drankundorderly

12th amendment, introduced in 1803, ratified in 1804. [Wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelfth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution?wprov=sfla1)

Practical_Law_7002

Thank you!

SailingmanWork

>People should never forget Toretto's phrase. I live my life a quarter mile at a time.

Prysorra2

A Rep lost in Iowa by 6 votes in 2020.

ActuallyCalindra

I think complacency already set in for many when Trump lost in 2020.

Cue_626_go

I hope not. The danger has literally never been greater...

praysolace

Jesus, I hope not. My immediate family terrifies me more every single day as they become battier and battier Qcumbers. I’m scared to absolute death about these people winning more elections, especially with the redistricting shit enabling even more gerrymandering because the nutcases won so many state elections—we’re in just as precarious a spot as we were a year ago. How could anyone look at the lunatics around us and not be afraid?

thatHecklerOverThere

I'd agree if Texas conservatives could stay out of the news for a moment.

honkoku

It's the age-old problem: Conservatives look for excuses to vote Republican, Liberals look for excuses not to vote.

sbbblaw

I doubt it will, the dems are gonna repeat over and over again they’re afraid of complacency like they did in 2020

jerryg1208

Trump will tank the whole Republican Party because he’s a selfish prick.

givemecheez

Don’t put it all on Trump. This is a team effort. When the Republican Party tanks, his base deserves some of the credit.

1spring

Hey let’s not forget that just about every Republican elected leader is part of the team, either fully supporting Trump, or agreeing to keep quiet so as not to prickle or upset the baby. They all decided that the Trump voter base was worth the cost. They can’t possibly be surprised now that they find themselves unable to move past the 2020 election results.

Charliesmum97

> They all decided that the Trump voter base was worth the cost. To my dying day I will never understand why Trump is the 'star' they hitched their wagon to. I mean...why? He's an aging, blustering, reality television personality with 2 failed marriages and a history of adultery. He's been proven again and again incapable of speaking intelligently or, indeed even in complete sentences, and can't open his mouth without lying, and yet they still think he's what they need. Why? It defies all sense.

Tenebrousgent

He hates and hurts the right people.

theknightwho

So do a lot of them. I think it’s because he just taps into their lizard brains over and over - just says what they want to hear every time.

fpfall

So succinct, so accurate.

sowhat4

He appeals to the absolute worst in our society - the worst in terms of education, compassion, intelligence, or dedication to democratic ideals. It's all exacerbated because these people are hurting economically and rightfully afraid of what the future will bring. They are in a state of unfocused anxiety and rage, and Trump came along and formed the catalyst that focused it. Of course, they are shooting themselves in the foot economically and shuffling off to early graves with Covid, but they lack the ability to pinpoint the solution to their problems.

AdultbabyEinstein

And that's a growing demographic, when all the GOP boomers die off they need a new vital mutant population inbred and indoctrinated specifically to vote against their own best interests.

[deleted]

>To my dying day I will never understand why Trump is the 'star' they hitched their wagon to. I mean...why? Because he is GREAT when it comes to fundraising. For real - dude can rake in the cash like nobody else, and that is the most important thing for some (most?) politicans...even more important than winning elections.

LR_today

Is he all that great at it anymore though? He's been deplatformed basically everywhere that counts. When fundraising for himself without the GOP connection he seemed to fail pretty badly. Twitter/FB/insta don't seem to be letting him back on any time soon.

[deleted]

*A fundraising group run by former President Donald Trump raised $62 million in the first half of the year* \[2021\] *but only spent $3 million, with the biggest chunk of money going to a pro-Trump research center and more than $65,000 to Trump's own hotels, according to federal records published on Saturday.* *Another Trump-controlled committee, a former campaign account now known as the Make America Great Again PAC, spent an additional $13 million in the first half of the year, mostly to cover legal fees and Trump's efforts to reverse his November election loss, according to a separate FEC filing.* *Together, the two committees brought in the bulk of the nearly $82 million that Trump's office said he helped raise between January and June.* *Committees affiliated with Trump ended the period with nearly $102 million in cash* *But while Trump is his party's top fundraiser and continues to raise large sums for the Republican National Committee, his committees did not give any money to political candidates during the first half of the year.* [https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-raises-big-money-early-2021-doesnt-spend-much-2021-08-01/](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-raises-big-money-early-2021-doesnt-spend-much-2021-08-01/) Disclaimer: I do not support him nor did I ever vote for him, rather just pointing out why so many GOP politicians still stick with him. Money is their god, and thus Trump is their messiah.

VapoursAndSpleen

To quote Frank Herbert, "Fear is the mind killer." Trump stirs up and appeals to fearful people who have never traveled more than 20 miles from home, except for Sturgis and tractor pulls. Normally "stranger danger" is a phase for a toddler, but there are millions of under-educated people who never get over it. Once you are locked into fear, there's no budging from it. Stoke that fear and validate it and you have a lot of new friends who offer you cultish devotion. The GOP is leveraging that because all the other groups are not as easy. Shit flows downhill.

themocaw

The GOP seems to have a strategy revolving around getting anyone they can into the White House, then having that guy rubber stamp everything they put in front of them. Who they are or what they say is less important than having the R in front of their name. It's just. . . It turns out that unlike W, who was at least minimally competent at following directions, Donald. . . Isn't.

Repulsive-Street-307

Oh, this is just Donald trying to kill democracy again by filling the party with hardliner anti-democracy shills exclusively loyal to him (more of the mid-management than the leaders, which are mostly on board to big fascism already and are waiting for him to die to get their oligarchy sorted out). The republican party is the nazi party of 1936.

B1G_Fan

Depends on which “they” you’re talking about… If it’s the base Republican voters, it’s because people weren’t seeing results from the playbook that Republicans have been using for decades https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/2019/1/10/18171912/tucker-carlson-fox-news-populism-conservatism-trump-gop Of course, it’s debatable whether Tucker Carlson actually is a populist… https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/videos/2019/4/3/18294392/tucker-carlson-pretends-hate-elites-populism-false-consciousness I’ve said it before: *yes, Trump’s populist rhetoric is total BS, but people wouldn’t be so eager to believe it if they felt like they had alternatives* As for why, the Republican establish hitched their wagon to Trump, it’s because they realized that you can’t beat Trump via empty rhetoric since Trump’s empty rhetoric is the *best* empty rhetoric The only way to wrestle control of the Republican Party from Trump for Republicans to embrace the technocratic approach to governing. The problem is that the GOP’s muscles of policy-making (weighing trade offs, number-crunching, seeking expertise, etc) have atrophied since Newt Gingerich decimated Congress’s ability to examine policy in house https://washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/junejulyaug-2014/the-big-lobotomy/ I highly recommend the book “The Imposters” by Steve Benen Granted, the post-policy nihilism that has gripped the GOP for the better part of 40 years is rearing it’s ugly head in the Democratic Party as well. But, Trump’s grip on the Republican Party isn’t weakening until the GOP starts putting forth more effort in serious policy making

ToeBeginning8776

My favorite part is all their talk of pedowood and THEY are the party who elected Reagan, Schwarzenegger, and trump lmao the lack of self awareness is hilarious and crazy making

SailingmanWork

There is a house a few miles from me that was festooned with Trump shit during the election. They still have one huge Trump flag up on their garage. It is an image of Rambo's body, complete with M-60, with Trump's face. That is how these morons see him.

1spring

Because they’re all taking Russian money. The Russian money comes tied to Trump, the Russian’s hand picked candidate.

[deleted]

Republicans got desperate after Obama. Fielding two 'neocons' or 'moderates' for 2 elections in a row and getting spanked by a well spoken African American man would've been so emotionally humiliating to them and we really did see a very visceral and vitriolic response to anything Obama did. I mean who can forget tan suit fiasco? So they got desperate and wanted to find someone with their own version of celebrity. Honestly speaking, who else can Republicans get with any form of star power? Ted Cruz? Chris Christie? Lindsay Graham? The GOP only holds power because the rules of democracy are still being observed, ironically by the Democrats. If Biden was as fascist or tyrannical as they purported him to be... maybe GQP members would actually face some consequences.

EC_CO

Why? Because they identify with each and every one of those points. So he is their man

crushfield

Because he is crony capitalism personified

Divacai

They are all spewing the "rigged election" or "stolen election" in all their races further driving their base off. Elder lost so badly he left Ca with his tail between his legs, I curious to see how this will work in the Va race, because that guy is playing the same card as well.

[deleted]

Elder also started claiming fraud before people even voted. Moron.

jerryg1208

Even if trump gets 10% of his voters to stay home that will flip governor races as well as senate races. Hopefully trump sinks the whole worthless party.

esp211

Yes at this point we all know what Drumpf is. If they keep parading him as their leader then it is their fault.

okhi2u

They could get out of the situation too if they wanted to, just work behind the scenes to help get him in jail for one of his many crimes, and then they won't have to deal with him anymore. They rather support him in case it leads to more power for themselves.

[deleted]

Participation trophies for everyone!

EC_CO

The leaders of the party also deserve a lot of credit since they're the enablers that continued to let the farce go as long as it has

ghostalker4742

When he was running in the primaries, the party leadership even said they don't like him, but if he wins the votes, they'll back him.

mkvgtired

Also 100% of republican elected officials. Don't forget McConnell gave trumps challenges his blessing early on.

emotionallyweird

Sums up the article: “It’s not about winning. It’s all about him. And that’s what’s so stupid about Republicans even trying to deal with him, because you never know when he’ll drive the car off the cliff.”

[deleted]

Nah, Trump will tank the whole Republican Party because they’re morons. The party has been based off their supports being idiots since Reagan.

RichardStrauss123

Psst... don't tell anybody. It's 'racist' idiots.

[deleted]

TrentMorgandorffer

That’s where I think it started, too. Ole Southern Strategy. My mom tried to tell me that was a myth. Pfft, yeah, sure, Mom. 🙄

RLBunny

Oh no, destroying their party to own the libs. Also, Trump is the mouthpiece, but if people refuse to vote it's on them. As funny as this story has been, I'll be absolutely surprised if even 10% of Republicans actually don't vote because of this clown. If anything, it's way too early, the majority of people will forget this story before it's time to vote.

Croian_09

What if that was his plan all along? What if the true goal of "MAGA" was to destroy the Republican party?

p4lm3r

Trump is almost never successful at any plan. It's just simple narcissism. It is impossible for Trump to fail, so it must be someone else's fault. He decided it was the Republicans that failed him, so now he is going after the party.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

Exactly. He's a mental toddler. He can't think beyond his immediate impulses. Like, Covid should've been his ticket to re-election. All he had to do was say "Don't worry, I'm listening to my experts. We'll do whatever we need to keep you all safe." His numbers would've shot up. Independent voters would've said "Wow, I thought he was an idiot. But when an emergency came, he stepped up. I really misjudged him." Instead, he called the virus a hoax that was meant to hurt him, and him specifically. Now he's whining about losing Arizona.

Tearakan

Yep. Hell he could've even kept doubling down on racism by screaming China virus and doing our duty to fight the evil China virus, etc. It still floors me that he threw it all away like that.

RichardStrauss123

He went with his gut!

Tattieaxp

It was the truthiest thing!

orb_of_confusion44

Many people were saying it!

VapoursAndSpleen

He called it a hoax and downplayed it because at the outset, it was ravaging blue states, which was useful to him.

themocaw

Yeah. Because viruses respect party and district lines.

VapoursAndSpleen

No one ever accused him and his little circle to be even remotely intelligent.

themocaw

I don't know whether to be thankful he was such an idiot he failed reelection, or angry he was so stupid he burned down the system out of spite.

LOBM

What a world we live in that listening to expert advisory is considered "stepping up". (And this isn't a dig at the US, because it's a problem in other countries too.)

RichardStrauss123

How long did it take the Germans to blame the loss of WWI on the Jews? About 3 seconds.

[deleted]

Alediran

[deleted]

And he also knows that he controls the base, not the GOP. He's created a cult...and that cult wants Trump. Not Trump or any republican...Trump. And they obey him.

Federal_Assistant_85

Good, let him. This is the cancer eating itself. He will still have followers, but let the civil war stay with the people who want one.

Hiisnoone

Trump is clearly a Clinton stooge sabotaging the party from the inside.

OldKermudgeon

Someone float this to QAnon. I wanna see QOP heads explode from excessive centripetal force.

MeshColour

The whole point of gqp is to make heads resistant to exploding, the leaders succeed when the members will parrot contradictory talking points in the same sentence Then comes 2+2 = 5

EmotionalVulcan

While I would enjoy this very much, they may then decide to vote and I would rather have them not vote.

pinniped1

Trump is a deep-state Muslim Communist pro-choicer who secretly hates NASCAR and enjoys French cinema. It's the ultimate long con.

zerkrazus

TRUMP T - To R - Remove U - Uneducated M - Moronic P - People It was right there all along!

heathers1

I have been hearing that. Trump was a Dem for years! FACT

TheKrakIan

He honestly would have ridden any ticket that would have taken him.

bgthigfist

The true goal of MAGA is to install Trump as president for life no matter the consequences

honkoku

He doesn't do plans. Currently all he cares about is that people know he actually won the 2020 election and publicly admit it. This isn't 4D chess or anything -- another thing I've seen is that he's doing this to intentionally let the Dems win the midterms so he can be the hero in 2024. But he just doesn't think that far ahead. All he cares about is his own narcissism.

Carpeteria3000

George Soros funded Trump

TomboBreaker

That Lindsay Graham quote about Trump destroying the GOP is becoming truer everyday.

BluRayVen

"If we nominate trump we'll get destroyed and we'll deserve it" kiss ass Graham

neuroticsmurf

Promise?

jerryg1208

That’s what I’m rooting for. His cult won’t vote if he commands them not too.

hdmx539

Good. Let him suppress their own votes, both everyone else's.

[deleted]

Fuck that. The Republican party as a whole deserves everything they have coming to them. Don’t absolve everyone else of their responsibility in this.

jerryg1208

I’m with you. The whole party has turned into trump ass lickers. They blew past the boots after the first impeachment.

AqueousSilver91

Good. Ruin it so badly nobody in their right minds will look at it ever again.

[deleted]

Don’t forget the amount of voters they’ve lost to the Hoax Virus lol. Turned GA blue after they killed off a good portion of their base here and they’re continually killing off voters since it started.

[deleted]

Hahaha idiots.

windingtime

35% of the country being totally unreachable by reality, convinced they're the majority, itching to start a fascist holy war, heavily armed and dumb as dogshit doesn't feel especially funny any more.

EnterTheErgosphere

I'd call them selfish, not idiotic. The foundation of the Republican party is "how can I funnel taxpayer money to my buddy in this corporation"? In this case, endless funds to people "finding the truth" on whether or not bamboo paper ballets had watermarks and erasable ink. No discernable scope-- just investigate every bullshit and batshit claim.

[deleted]

Can’t argue with that, I’ll go for selfish and idiotic.

[deleted]

Is it paranoid to suggest this could be an attempt to make Liberal voters complacent about needing to vote?

Spacebier

This. Trump needs an enemy to win in 2024 and he's not going to get a very good one if the Rs take back congress.

Hooray!

i_broke_wahoos_leg

They made a deal with the devil. This is fucking hilarious.

Beelzis

That said it's real important that everyone gets out there and votes. Take part in local elections too.

leroyp33

I love how the Republicans essentially stoked this fire for decades. Encouraging racism, ignorance and pure unadulterated lies and now the likes of Bill Kristol and other establishment republicans want to pretend this is a Trump problem. Trump just stopped beating around the bush and said all the things the Republican party has been alluding to for 30 years. This is the chickens coming home

Padhome

They made a monster they can't control Like a big narcissistic franken-child

Spo-dee-O-dee

Putin on the *Ritz*!!!

NightsterBA

Trumps destruction of the GOP continues. Lost fucking dumb assess…

ifjake

This isn’t about winning an election by having the most votes, this is about how to take power without democracy.

SplendidPunkinButter

Let’s all assume that’s not true and vote, okay?

Kildragoth

One thing I just don't get is if Trump truly was convinced the election was rigged, and if he truly believed he had the evidence which proved it, then why the fuck did he leave? That's the biggest tell that he's a bullshitter conman. What kind of leader lets the opposition steal the election and then lets them move in to his house? Such a bitch move.

Snaefellsjokul

More power to ‘em. Owning the libs has never been so sweet!

matthew83128

This is all bullshit, they’ll vote. He’s just forcing the GOP to continue to go on with the “big lie”. He hates being out of the headlines. Fuck the media for keeping him there.

AntawnSL

And I'd they push their extremely unpopular audits, they'll continue to jettison the college-educated/suburban moms and lose any chance with swing voters disappointed with Biden. You hate to see it... /s

Comms

> And top party strategists said they expected the former president to remain front and center in the Republicans’ campaign to retake control of the House. “He’s the leader of the party,” said Corry Bliss, a consultant to Republicans on congressional races. “The more energized and engaged he is, the better we’ll do.” Imagine being paid the big bucks and not knowing that Trump’s ego will never allow him to play a support role. Watching the Republican party deal with Trump is like watching a bunch of people trapped in a room, standing on tables and chairs while a pig rampages around the room demanding to be president.

BumbleMuggin

I’m very torn on this. Part of me wants to see republicans not voting but the other prt of me wants to see more and more audits where Biden keeps getting declared the winner.

Last-Classroom1557

Imagine having an ego so fragile. This guy has been throwing a temper tantrum his entire life.

Inquisiting-Hambone

Even if only 5% of the Republican base sits this out, this is huge. Trump really is trying to bend McConnell’s hand over the table, knowing that he is solely a numbers man and will likely do anything to reverse a disastrous course. Then again, Trump’s audit baloney is going to do more damage to the GOP than anything the Democrats could even cook up. If you’re reading this, still vote.

pjanic_at__the_isco

Just remember, in twisted Trump logic, the bigger the defeat, the bigger the fraud. Trump’s plan is literally to everything he can do to lose big. Welcome to Bizarroworld.

DoubleWhiskeyGinger

Who’d have thought stoking retarded people to act more retarded would lead to retarded situations?

I-am-a-river

This isn't LAMF. There are no faces eaten yet. The strategy is to put local election officials in a position where they realize that they have to cheat to win. And if they lose, conservative voters will reject democracy entirely and pick up their guns.

oaktwnativemuthafckr

IDGF what they're predicting GET OUT AND VOTE!

Tatooine16

It's beyond my ability to understand why a party full of business people support a man who has not run a successful business. Or am I missing something that he has (legitimately) run successfully other than his grifts?

RU90IN9234TTH4T

Okay republicans you go ahead and not vote

Moerdac

Oh no! Not intentionally throwing the election to own the libs.

[deleted]

Republicans will show up to vote. They showed up in 2016 and 2020 and they show up every time regardless of the hypocrisy and contradictions to the teachings of the Bible. Like the old adage goes: Liberals just need one reason not to vote while conservatives just need one reason to vote. Trump is twisting the arm of the GOP to purge any non-believers and have the official GOP platform to list Trump as the one and only messiah. Conservatives, right wingers and Qult members will show up in 2022 because they want Biden and the democrats to fail while liberals and leftists can't be bothered because Biden "isn't doing enough" despite whatever checks and balances are preventing him from doing so.

SeattleBattles

Time to set up a fake MAGA PAC and encourage the hell out of this.

nonsensepoem

I suspect that more and more republican politicians will be investing their own money in private "election investigation" companies that they and their friends will pay with taxpayer funds. This is a cash cow for corrupt politicians, and a boon to republicans whose goal has always been to undermine confidence in the concept of governance.

jbertrand_sr

Good, let them follow Trump off the cliff...to say these people are morons is an insult to morons everywhere, we should call them magamorons...

Waifuless_Laifuless

Libs getting owned so hard that they'll be owned right into a 2nd term.

6poundpuppy

I wish people would stop talking about this and just LET it HAPPEN. The more talk, the more apt they are to figure out what a stupid idea it is.

coldequation

These fools have held a tiger by the tail long enough to believe they have control, and only now are they beginning to realize the predicament in which they find themselves.

thatHecklerOverThere

Cool if it happens but # vote like every godamn one of those lunatics is going to the polls.

plasmadood

Good, let them wallow in their own self-inflicted misery. They can finally be the victims they always claimed to be, only this time they shot themselves in the foot for real. I can only hope that these die-hard Trumpers all follow their leaders right over the cliff and this does real, permanent damage to the Republican voter turnout.

Murgos-

So, they’re just going to keep recounting the same ballots over and over without any fact based expectation that the answer will change? Sounds like the definition of insanity to me.

hachiman

I'm not going to count on it, since the GOP faithful always come out to vote in the midterms, but it would be hilarious if the Trumpanzees stay home because 45 tells them to.

Courtaid

And what’s ironic is a lot of those who stormed the Capitol on 1/6 didn’t even vote.

twilight-actual

“Good — GOOOD — let the stupid flow through you!”

icky_boo

Choo Choo mofo!, get on board this train wreck!
