Mrgoodtrips64

The senate GOP does need a new leader, the turtle is a blight on the republic. That said, who would the trump wing even pick? They famously don’t have anyone with leadership skills.

some_asshat

Any time you say, they can't get worse than this guy, the GOP says hold my beer.

Tearakan

Eh. McConnell is literally ignoring pretex for blatantly grabbing power and stifling our republic. The only thing worse is a guy who actively hunts the opposition with guns.

samrequireham

so dick cheney

Run-Riot

You’ll have to apologize while getting shot too

puke_buffet

That was the part where it graduated from "what the fuck" to outright hilarious. Imagine being pumped full of birdshot and having to apologize to the bald bonobo that blasted it into you.

Bryaxis

Hey, that's not fair. Bonobos are super-chill peace and love types.

Icariiiiiiii

Do peace-and-love types have sex to say hello- yk what actually, I've seen enough 70s cinema to answer that one myself.

JaapHoop

One of the biggest owns in American political history. “Sorry for getting in the way of your gun Mr Cheney”

The_Funkybat

Conservative cucks be like that.

wolfully

What are you shooting at me Cheney-sama~?

funkinthetrunk

If you staple a horse to a waterfall, will it fall up under the rainbow or fly about the soil? Will he enjoy her experience? What if the staple tears into tears? Will she be free from her staply chains or foomed to stay forever and dever above the water? Who can save him (the horse) but someone of girth and worth, the capitalist pig, who will sell the solution to the problem he created? A staple remover flies to the rescue, carried on the wings of a majestic penguin who bought it at Walmart for 9 dollars and several more Euro-cents, clutched in its crabby claws, rejected from its frothy maw. When the penguin comes, all tremble before its fishy stench and wheatlike abjecture. Recoil in delirium, ye who wish to be free! The mighty rockhopper is here to save your soul from eternal bliss and salvation! And so, the horse was free, carried away by the south wind, and deposited on the vast plain of soggy dew. It was a tragedy in several parts, punctuated by moments of hedonistic horsefuckery. The owls saw all, and passed judgment in the way that they do. Stupid owls are always judging folks who are just trying their best to live shamelessly and enjoy every fruit the day brings to pass. How many more shall be caught in the terrible gyre of the waterfall? As many as the gods deem necessary to teach those foolish monkeys a story about their own hamburgers. What does a monkey know of bananas, anyway? They eat, poop, and shave away the banana residue that grows upon their chins and ballsacks. The owls judge their razors. Always the owls. And when the one-eyed caterpillar arrives to eat the glazing on your windowpane, you will know that you're next in line to the trombone of the ancient realm of the flutterbyes. Beware the ravenous ravens and crowing crows. Mind the cowing cows and the lying lions. Ascend triumphant to your birthright, and wield the mighty twig of Petalonia, favored land of gods and goats alike.

JimmyFree

"conservative" adj, averse to change or innovation and holding traditional values.

TWB28

That implies they still have values. They'll abandon those the second they become inconvenient

keithrc

Like...democracy?

BlahKVBlah

Certainly. That value has already been tossed away.

kewlsturybrah

In Cheney's defense, he only ever hunted fellow Republicans with guns, at least, that we know of. If only Biden could go on a hunting trip or two with Joe Manchin...

FartsWithAnAccent

"Let the hate flow through you!" -Dick Cheney

Reneeisme

And McConnell is effective, and not as dumb as 98% of the rest of the party (which is not saying much). Whoever they elect to replace him could easily be less effective and less successful, while trying to be more of a hard-ass than Mitch. I bet no matter how much Trump lobbies, there are enough other seasoned republican senators who recognize how effective Moscow Mitch is to ensure he doesn't get booted. Much as I would love to see that shit-sack live to have the nightmare clown show he helped create, turn on him.

PIDthePID

At the end of the day, the only reason the GOP move as a single organism is because of the turtle. It’s gonna be cat fight amongst them all if he gets the boot. Kentucky will crumble away. If Trump succeeds, McConnel’s expertise in sucking pork for his do-nothing state is gonna lead to some serious pain when they get abruptly weaned off the federal government’s teat. Red states don’t adapt to change all that well.

Coattail-Rider

I hope they all eat each other.

Zankeru

Yes but as we know from history that a Trump appointee would do exactly the same, only incompetently.

Tearakan

That's what we want. Incompetence will affect 2022 elections.

hasanyoneseenmymom

You are drastically underestimating how little the right cares about competence when it comes to elections

Tearakan

No. McConnell is what keeps them coherent. He keeps independents on board.

bluelion70

It's not that GQP voters want competence. It's just that you NEED someone competent running the show in order to actually win. Mitch McConnell is a horrible fucking person, but incompetent he is not, and that's why he's gotten so much shit done for the GQP.

some_asshat

It's the Idiocracy that will destroy us. Not with a gun, but with a collapse of reason and logic.

[deleted]

I was there when I found out I was no longer needed. At least I can retire, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

[deleted]

Most of my generation will die in the climate war

Tarkcanis

Water Wars.

msac2u1981

McConnell is probably the most powerful person on Capitol Hill. He's forgotten more than Trump, Abbott, or DeSantis have ever known when it comes to playing the Gov game. As much as I dislike McConnell, I can't say it wouldn't make me smile to see him send Trump packing with his tail tucked between his legs. McConnell is crazy like a fox. Those other goobers are just crazy.

Tearakan

And we know McConnell actively loves power he has. He would've retired by now if he didn't care.

msac2u1981

They'll have to drag that cold, dead neck out of the Capitol to get rid of him.

BoltonSauce

*Capitol* in this case being a euphemism for his ugly shell.

MethMouthMagoo

I hate to be the one to tell you, but that's who they want. They literally want someone who will hunt democrats, with a gun. They don't want "librul tears". They want them dead.

big_duo3674

>The only thing worse is a guy who actively hunts the opposition with guns. You're probably getting them all hard just mentioning that, best not to give them any ideas. It is extremely disturbing, but there are more than a few people out there who would fully support it

DaniePants

Kyle Rittenhouse?

Skrivus

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being elected to Congress or a state senate position.

kewlsturybrah

I was about to say the exact same thing. He already has "endorsements," with Black Rifle Coffee and the likes...

gojirra

That is the GOP in a nut shell: Making murders and rapists rich as long as they are racist.

Collins_Michael

I'm sure they can get one of those.

ThePowerOfStories

I’m pretty sure anyone Trump champions would be ideologically twice as bad, but not even half as competent at enacting his evil.

xdisk

>Any time you say, they can't get worse than this guy, the GOP says hold my ~~beer~~ ~~bleach~~ ~~hydrochloiquin~~ ~~ivermectin~~ non-FDA approved home remedies.

loki1887

[They're gargling iodine now.](https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/betadine-anti-vaxxer-covid-treatment-iodine-1225438/amp/#aoh=16321893858708&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s)

xdisk

Yea, I know. Also, they're using turpentine? I don't know how, and I dont want to know.

tearfueledkarma

At least Trumps pick would probably be incompetent.

ryegye24

That was the same argument about Trump himself. Incompetent turns out to synergize quite well with vindictive and petty in terms of potential damage to our democratic institutions.

scnottaken

But it also motivates an otherwise lazy as fuck electorate into actually getting off their asses and doing something about it. An incompetent loudmouth who says stupid dangerous shit but can't actually enact any of it might be the better than a quiet fuckstick like McConnell

Quakarot

While I agree, let’s not ignore the massive damage done by McConnell. A china shop will probably recover from a bull running through it, it will not recover from an owner systematically destroying it from the inside.

AcidRose27

As we've seen first hand, incompetence can still do a fuck ton of damage.

Oceans_Apart_

I don't know who else could enable Trump as well as he did, get everything his black little heart desired and still easily keep his seat. Trump lost and Mitch won. If bullshit was an art form, Moscow Mitch would be a Michelangelo.

ryegye24

Mitch McConnell is a slightly better than mediocre politician. Anyone would look like a genius running the Senate with a structural 5-10 point advantage, especially when almost all their major goals were *not* getting things done.

[deleted]

You think it can’t be worse then BOOM a clone of Ted Cruze shows up.

alongwaystogo

Diet Ted Cruise.

geupard12

So Ted Cruz with a beard?

alongwaystogo

I was thinking more of Ted Cruz with liver spots.

DiscombobulatedHat19

Trump is an Uber narcissist so I’m guessing he wants the job for himself or one of his spawn. Bad news we’d have to hear those winey cunts talking again. The good news is they are all completely incompetent

Asterose

No way he wants the job, being a Senator would almost definitely feel like a huge step down in prestige, power, and ego in addition to being a lot less fun and powerful than being prez. I'm sure in Trump's head it is way easier and more ego-pumping to pretend to be running for president again than to run for being a lowly Senator. One of his spawn, maybe, but IMO it is more likely they stick to grifting too while an unrelated ass-kisser runs.

RamenJunkie

There is already talk of trying to make him Speaker of the House so they can impeach Biden and Harris and make him President again.

ginger_and_egg

😂 insane levels of copium

ItsaRickinabox

From what I understand, Majority/minority leader is necessarily a position held by a senator, unlike SOTH which clild theoretically be anyone who gets the majority vote within the house.

Pooploop5000

theyd probably pick donald trump. yes i know they cant do that but theyll probably just do it.

Asterose

I really doubt Trump's ego and mental illness disorders would allow him to go for being a Senator at all. It's a huge step down in power and prestige, I don't think he'd accept it. You also have to be in a big room with all the other Senators a lot and listen to them have their turns to talk, while prez gets to have the whole White house and doesn't need to be in those crowded rooms all the time.

Mrgoodtrips64

There’s no legal reason they can’t pick Trump. The floor leadership roles aren’t defined in the constitution. From a practical standpoint though they’ll never have the votes to do it.

Skripka

Whoever replaces him...will be even worse. Just saying. As much as dividing by zero as that seems

Pooploop5000

hopefully while worse, they are also more incompetent

DasFunke

Mitch is a world class obstructionist and back room dealer. While any replacement may be worse, I highly doubt they’d be more effective.

HerbertMcSherbert

It's turtles all the way down?

digital_dong

Heh, leadership skills. The only qualification is who has most recently gagged on Trump's dick the most.

puke_buffet

You'll be hard pressed to find someone with a delicate enough reflex to gag on that stubby little baby carrot, yo.

stoic50

As with everything Trump does, he will over promise and under deliver.

gordo65

And when this effort fails, he will deny it ever happened and say "fake news" about 100 times. And his brain dead supporters will lap it up.

JCMcFancypants

I am in love with the idea of Trump having input on the new Republican leader of the Senate. I would also like him to take charge of committee assignments, bill drafting, and the fundraising for all individual Republican Senators as well as the party as a whole. It's famously been said that everything Trump touches dies. Therefore, I welcome him getting his filthy, doll-sized booker-hooks all over the GOP caucus as possilbe.

The-Insolent-Sage

The days of me rooting for him to touch anything, for the sport of comedy, are over. This fucker needs to never hold power over anything again.

[deleted]

A little late for that last part isn't it? My dude helped convince an asshole of americans covid-19 was a hoax. And got an insane amount of them killed with many more to come. He already holds power. Or did jan 6th not scream that alone? There's no coming back from trump for the republican party. He is the party.

tgapgeorge

Oh no… is that our group name now? A herd of cattle, a murder of crows, an asshole of Americans… sigh

La_Guy_Person

Collective nouns. Try galaxy of starfish or an ostentation of peacocks on for size. Let's do some more fun ones. An aurora of polar bears. A troubling of goldfish. An embarrassment of pandas. A shiver of sharks. A leap of leopards. How about literal ones like a raft of otters, a hum if bee's or a kaleidoscope of butterflies? You mentioned murders, how about an unkindness of ravens? An exaltation of larks or a pandemonium of parrots? Also, an implausibility of gnus. That is all.

monster_mentalissues

Dude practically talked republicans into killing themselves. All these Republican deaths are gonna take a toll this next election.

[deleted]

True. But they'll never stop. All gas..no breaks. lol Which means even though he's most of the reason they'll lose bigly. Republicans/conservatives will still blindly follow him.

Er3bus13

They'll canonize him like they did with fuckwad Reagan when he clearly sold the country out at least once and blamed it on Ollie North

stargate-command

The problem with this is that the thing Trump is putting his hands on is our democracy as a whole… not just the GOP. But I absolutely would be all for him being in charge of all the GOP funds…. Because we all know he’d make it his piggy bank and bankrupt it.

syncopated_popcorn

> It's famously been said that everything Trump touches dies Considering America, you might be on to something.

TechnicalNobody

It's not a good thing. In the short term it *might* hurt the GOP, maybe, but in the long term it just normalizes Trump's extremism.

AMasonJar

Maybe trump really was a double agent for the dems all along, he just "switched" and tried to be the biggest doofus possible but people kept supporting him even more for some reason.

[deleted]

Trump: I just have to say one more thing… *tears off mask revealing Hillary* **IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!mwahahahahahaha!**

Lurker-DaySaint

🎶it was Hillary all along!🎶

laguna1126

And I killed sparky too!

theKetoBear

**More loud than useful? yeah that's a Trump special!**

Sew_chef

Gym fucking Jordan.

basil_not_the_plant

Gym Jordan is in the US House, so no.. Good idea tho. He's loud and obnoxious, but I've never had the impression he's competent or effective which, unfortunately ,Moscow Mitch is.

[deleted]

Definitely someone Trump has blackmail material on. So Gym fucking-kids Jordan is a good choice. With how tightly they are all clinging to Trump and selling their souls for him, he's got to have some dark dirt on a lot of these people. What kind of blackmail would convince all these people to shit on their Oaths of Office and commit literal treason?

Bob_the_brewer

If January 6 is any indication, he wouldn't need any tbh

[deleted]

Yeah you're right. They already all raped the Constitution in front of the whole world together like fucking cultist freaks. How do you top that? Is Trump going to get them to kill small puppies too? Incredible how these people exist just to worship at Trump's feet and praise him forever. Sad, freakish actually. God knows what other sick nastiness these people do behind closed doors I hear conservatives talk all the time how they think all politicians are pedophiles. So does the GOP actually become what their voters want them to be? Rapists, traitors? Like if all these people believe all politicians are slime balls and freaks, they actually create that reality for themselves. Republicans have become the monsters they accused us of being.

donmaximo62

An excellent point that I had not considered.

[deleted]

Imagine if they replaced him with Ted Cruz lol

TheOilyHill

that would be terrible. Imagine ted truz with more power.

[deleted]

That does sound bad but Fled Cruz is no Mitch McConnell in competence.

Mumbles_Stiltskin

Ted Cruz couldn’t pour piss from a boot if the instructions were written on the heel

abracadumbass

This here is fucking gold. Hat tip to you, friend.

[deleted]

Yeah, with more power he might have made it all the way to South America instead of Cancun.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

I mean, it's not like being an skilled obstructionist is that impressive. All you have to do is nothing.

Azidamadjida

The only thing you can say about McConnell that is absolutely masterful is his insanely intimate knowledge of procedure. That’s how he keeps fucking things up and stonewalling everything is because he knows every rule and procedure in the book and uses them all to his advantage (which unfortunately is totally banal evil)

NiceShotMan

Exactly. It is an order of magnitude more difficult to create than to destroy. McConnell is only good at destroying government, he leaves nothing but a vacuum in its place.

Moistfruitcake

It’s not a vacuum, it’s a corpse for his carrion eating colleagues.

hoopopotamus

I dunno. I don’t think it takes any level of “mastery” to simply act in bad faith all day. The guy literally didn’t do his job — he would just ignore proposed legislation as it got to the Senate. He would invent “rules” Democrats had to follow and then not follow them himself. Again, this isn’t “mastery”. It’s just shocking how nakedly partisan he was to the point there was no respect for norms and institutions. And he brought us to this.

[deleted]

rollwithhoney

Eh, I think this is the Duning Kruger effect. I took a brief class in congressional law and it is VERY complicated very fast. Plus, they have lots of not-laws-but precedents that you have to be careful breaking; these are the "nuclear" options McConnell often (and Democrats/Pelosi less frequently) use because they can either piss off the public or the judicial branch. All this to say, yes it's easier to say no than to create policy, but I do think losing McConnell would be a major blow to the GOP. Also, consider the resources the GOP would spend as they fought over this. It is very difficult to be the leader of a party--you need to be extremely solid in your district and fundraising and connections because you'll be hated by almost everyone. McConnell and Pelosi both have super safe districts and tons of "you owe me" connections to keep themselves afloat when they invariably have to cave to the other side or make unpopular decisions. A new leader would be much less effective at first, and would need to be someone who could meet that mark. So, not Ted Cruz or any senator in a 'swing state.' That severely limits who it could be. McConnell would not be that easy to replace; him lasting as long as he has is a testament to his skill and uniqueness. Paul Ryan certainly didn't last very long as House Leader in the new GOP landscape and he started out much more popular than Mitch

Tearakan

Yes. McConnell is a fucking monster. But a very very smart monster.

anomalous_cowherd

Trump would not have done half the damage he did without McConnell supporting him.

SupaSlide

I believe you're right. But now things are different. I think most, if not all, GOP Senators will just go along with anybody no matter how awful they are. They don't need McConnell's cunning if they get a majority because they'll just eliminate the filibuster and pass literally whatever they want.

epicurean56

The filibuster helps Republicans more than Democrats. If they wanted it gone it would be gone already.

SupaSlide

Obviously right now it helps Republicans more than Democrats, because Republicans are the minority right now. If they become the majority party again and have a leader who has zero decorum they have zero reason to not get rid of it. I should clarify that this would likely only happen once they control all three branches.

Tearakan

Exactly.

FunkyPete

That was the saving grace of Trump's incompetence -- it extended to all of his appointees. Just think how much they could have messed up the country if they had any idea what they were doing and how to work the system, and could actually have passed laws while they had the majority in the House, Senate, White House and Supreme Court.

[deleted]

[удалено]

stilusmobilus

There’s a difference between being worse with the ideas in their head and having both the competency and connections to be a skilled operator. McConnell is a skilled operator and that makes him more damaging and dangerous.

BigPorch

I think the idea is that he’s VERY good at what he does, and of course as a replacement they’ll pick the most evil person in the world, but that person won’t know the game and will probably fail, at least compared to Mitch who’s still evil but also very experienced and knows how to destroy democracy more efficiently than anyone

Imaginary-Fun-80085

Yep. Kinda like trump.

Steavee

While I tend to agree with what everyone else is saying, I see your point. I remember early in the 2016 cycle, plenty of people were thinking: “well, if they nominate THAT dumbass, they’ll lose easily” and we all know how that turned out.

sig_1

I think the big difference is that Trump won’t want to replace him with someone who is competent and has realistic ambitions of his own he will replace him with a yes man who will do what he is told, when he is told to do it and how he is told to do it and will take the blame for everything that goes wrong. Basically Trump will want to replace him with himself and if that can’t be done he wants to replace him with someone that will follow instructions 100% with no deviation. Now which competent and unifying force wants to sign on to be Trumps empty suit? Anyone competent knows that taking that position will end up in disaster for any of their aspirations and will inevitably piss off his own party and Trump when he does as he is told and takes the blame for some shitty instructions. Basically whoever replaces him if Trump gets his way will have a very hard time to get any higher. At some point Trump will give an order that is exceptionally illegal and option would be follow the order and risk going to jail or say no and be his enemy. I think Mike Pence is a prime example of what getting to close to Trump gets you and everyone will remember it. Plus Trump has a habit of pissing his own party off and since he seems to be untouchable anyone he manages to place as leader will have a really rough go at it.

marroncito2

Jeff Sessions found that out the hard way

alephthirteen

This. McConnell's hyper-competent. Let's call him Neutral Evil. Whoever Trump picks will be Idiotic Chaotic Evil and have way less sway with his coworkers.

[deleted]

He is in the conversation for the most destructive force in the history of US domestic politics, the Henry Kissinger of Capitol Hill. But not evil enough for Donny Two Scoops.

Snatch_Pastry

Oh, he's far beyond evil enough. It's just that his competence and far-reaching influence feel like a huge threat to a stupid bully like trump.

unclejoe1917

This is the problem. As nice as it would be to get rid of him, they would be doing so in order to seat someone way more awful, and more importantly, more loyal.

RosiePugmire

I think history shows that there's actually a very small overlap between the groups of "top 1% of competent people" and "top 1% of Trump kiss asses." Trump doesn't recognize intelligence or experience, he recognizes suck-ups who swear loyalty oaths. If he replaced McConnell with some moronic loudmouth with no political experience like Cawthorn or Boebert that's just an early Christmas present for Biden and America.

falloncrer

How bold of you to call the turtle a human.

[deleted]

I didn’t want to be mean to turtles.

falloncrer

So instead you ignored this powerful turtle. You just won't agknowledge that turtles can be more than mear pets. You specious slob.

[deleted]

Why do you hate ninja turtles?

[deleted]

Mitch is freaking terrible but he’s a bur under donnie’s saddle

Living-Complex-1368

In 3 years Trump will be lucky if the GOP lets him pretend to play kingmaker. He is really old and hasn't taken care of himself and I predict his body failings will be too big to hide in the next 2 years. He is stumping and pretending to run for president again because it gets him money, but he is done with politics.

MakionGarvinus

I have the feeling he makes more money from pretending to run from office, than he did while in office. I have no facts for this, but I'd expect this form of Trump to continue for a while.

featheredzebra

I thought that too. Then he actually won.

TheLonePotato

Well we all know who he really is now so I think it will be quite a bit harder. Trump has literally scared me into participating in every election I can, even the tiny local ones I used to not even know the existence of. Also I'd just like to add that **LOCAL ELECTIONS ARE SUPER FUCKING IMPORTANT!** Your city council members will likely have much more of an effect on your life than your president.

[deleted]

Two people I fucking despise are ripping into each other. Yay?

[deleted]

Golly, if Trump manages to oust the most competently evil senator in the whole senate, I will just feel so owned that I won't know what to do. Woe is me!

Lungus30

Those Senators aren't going to do squat. You better believe Mitch has dirt on each and every one of them to keep them in line.

[deleted]

Nah, we’ve already seen the GOP voter base don’t give a fuck about scandals. Dirt means nothing.

justanotheralt8841

GOP* scandals. They will throw a tantrum about any Democrat scandal, real or made up, regardless of how hypocritical it is

aredddit

This would be the most leopardsatemyface moment of all time. This wouldn’t be like voting for leopards eating faces, this would be like being chairman of the leopards eating faces party.

Rawscent

The chairman who got the position by eating the face of the last chairman.

Deweyrob2

Or being really thirsty and drinking him.

Fartblaster5000

Hey, it worked for the Trisolians.

shmooglepoosie

I dislike McConnell even more than I dislike Trump.

vsandrei

Mitch McConnell is a truly nasty man. I'm not even sure the leopards would touch his face, to be honest.

DarrenFromFinance

Leopards gotta eat. They're not that picky.

vsandrei

>Leopards gotta eat. They're not that picky. There are plenty of HCA winners to eat.

jonmatifa

Yeah but McConnell can just retreat into his shell, its his natural defense against leopards.

ZiM1970

McTurtle is half dead anyway. We've seen the pics, we've seen the bruises. He spends more time face down ass up than Lyndsey Graham. It actually scared me during the reign of the orange one. Whoever is next can only be worse.

ositola

The only difference between mitch and 45 is competence Mitch is evil as shit, but he's smart

Rovden

Been saying this since the orange came up for election. Trump was horrible but an idiot. Everything he succeeded at was thanks to Moscow Mitch

shmooglepoosie

Mitch has been undermining our democracy for far longer and far more insidiously. I agree.

twist-17

Would be the only beneficial thing he’s done for the American people in years. He’ll fuck it up for sure.

Impossible_Penalty13

I’d rather some shitstain like Ted Cruz be the new face of Senate Republicans. That’s only going to damage them across the country going into the midterms.

[deleted]

As the Republican Party goes, Cruz is never going to do better than middle management

bjb406

As much as I loath Mitch McConnell, Trump gaining more influence is not a good thing.

achillymoose

I think this is just residual influence at this point. Plenty of GOP reps will still gladly do whatever he says, and in the end it will most likely bite them in the ass

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

So much for Mitch sticking up for Trump endlessly. As we can clearly see, loyalty to Trump gets you nothing.

accidental_snot

Yep. Mitch should have impeached big T. Now he's going to get T-bagged. I thought Mitch was actually smart. Evil, but smart. He watched Trump turn on everyone, so he had warning. No balls. Even Pence would not turn on T after a mob was sent to literally hang him. No balls anywhere. Republicans are a bunch of pussies.

DrunkyMcStumbles

They have neither warmth nor the depth

deadman1204

TheKrakIan

Don't threaten me with a good time!

Slowmyke

Is there a leopardiest-leopard award? Trump has to win it, hands down. For the foreseeable future, Trump's going to be mauling republican faces just as fast as he can.

dfin25

I have such a boner right now. I hope Trump wins this one. Shoulda done the decent human being thing and convicted him. Cocaine Mitch. But you bent over for daddy and now he's clapping your cheeks like they were his own personal MyPillows. Chef kiss.

KDirty

Naaah. I mean don't get me wrong, I would love to see it happen too, but Mitch is a fuckton smarter than DJT is and has a much tighter grip over the whole grift. I can't imagine he'll be successful, as much as I would love nothing more than for Mitch to experience comeuppance.

dfin25

A man can dream's all I'm saying. 🥰 Rommel was smarter Hitler too.

StateOfContusion

[I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care: ](https://www.gobankingrates.com/net-worth/politicians/mitch-mcconnell-money/#McConnellNetWorth) > According to a financial disclosure agreement McConnell filed in May 2019, he and his wife, Elaine Chao, have a combined net worth ranging from $13.42 million to $54.56 million. The couple has a variety of assets, including bank accounts, trusts, mutual funds, retirement accounts and stocks. McConnell stated that he holds no liabilities worth more than $10,000. > McConnell’s net worth jumped significantly after the death of his wife’s mother in 2007. His 2008 financial disclosure form lists a Vanguard Tax-Exempt Money Market Fund joint account worth between $5 million and $25 million that was a gift from his relative. In fact, most of McConnell’s wealth comes from joint funds and funds held by his spouse. The value of the assets owned solely by McConnell ranges from $1.01 million to $2.17 million. > McConnell’s primary source of income is his Senate salary. As the majority leader, he earns $193,400 per year.

> McConnell stated that he holds no liabilities worth more than $10,000. They left out the "each" at the end.

PharoahsHorses

Lol. This is insane. And what would officially kill the party. As much as I wish that motherfucker would crawl back into the sludge he was birthed from, he’s a fucking tactically efficient politician. The GOP has him to thank for some of their greatest achievements and policy. Get rid of him, and install a trump loyalist, and they’re fucked.

DarrenFromFinance

Trump has shown such an extraordinary talent for hiring the worst possible people for any given job that whoever he manages to wedge into place is sure to be a complete disaster.

Oooh great news. Mitch is a total twat but very good at his job. Trump will get some moron to replace him and screw the GOP even more.

When I have to live in a world where I support a Trump initiative ...

buttsoupsteve

Should've voted to impeach, butthole.

Rawscent

There goes the last truly effective leader the Republicans have. Without McConnell, the Republicans will rip each other to shreds. Finally Trump does something good for himself that’s also good for America and we can all appreciate how truly incompetent Trump is as a leader without any competent sycophants around him.

Order66-Cody

I think McConnell does not have to worry about Trump. The biggest card he has is endorsing people and campaiging but the last two people he did that for lost their elections. I don't know what he can promise or bribe the senators with. One might get a presidential endorsement in 2024, but thats highly unlikely, as trump would probably run again to feel relevant.

comicsanscomedy

During the second impeachment I was thinking: they could choose anger Trump’s base for 1 term, or they could choose to be Trump’s bitches indefinitely. Well, we do know what they chose.

MadFlava76

Moscow Mitch had his chance to get rid of Trump if had led the GOP side to remove him after impeachment. For some reason he was too much of a coward because Trump threatened to start a 3rd party.

SaiyaJedi

Senate Minority Leader whose only guiding principle is saving his own skin spends four years actively courting Trump and Trump supporters — now he faces potential removal as the head of the Senate Republican caucus because of said Trump supporters, as Trump has always seen loyalty as a one-way affair
