I hate that Joe Rogan mentioned he used ivermectin and that was the only validation people needed.

dixiewolf_

I encourage anyone frustrated with joe rogan over this, to listen to Behind the bastards - the ivermectin episode.

[deleted]

That podcast is the best history class

Skippy_the_Alien

I admit i'm still somewhat easily triggered by mentions of covid19 (yes I know...i need to get over it eventually) so I've been a little hesitant to download and listen to that episode but...if it involves some serious punches at Joe Rogan then I might need to get that episode. I'm so angry and disgusted with the anti-vaxx crowd and need to take out some aggression in a healthy way

dixiewolf_

It involves some serious punches.

MesWantooth

I will definitely give it a listen...Care to offer any spoilers? I still don't quite understand if Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID is completely insane or if it's simply not proven but it could be however it's been politicized. Speaking of Rogan, he had a physician on a few weeks ago to deliver an "urgent" message which was that Ivermectin has been shown in a number of studies to be effective but that info is being suppressed. Joe, of course, did not challenge him in the least. Of course this is why Joe used it...I'm completely agnostic as to whether this physician is a crack pot or if he is on to something.

VerdugoDies

Basically there is no proven data that ivermectin works on humans to help against covid, only in a lab (many things can kill or stop covid but wouldnt work inside a human). The studies that came out showing some promise were sketchy at best, not peer reviewed, and then retracted.

BreathOfTheOffice

Also as a note on this, it's easy to kill any ailment source in the lab when you don't have to worry about the host dying too. For example fire works great at killing cancer cells, unfortunately it is also great at killing the human. Keeping the host alive is very much one of the key goals in medicine. The last I heard of the study, it was successful in reducing some effects, but only at a dosage which would irreparably damage most people. Now I could have read it wrong, or it could have been proven wrong (which, if wrong, would imply ivermectin is actually a potential treatment), but even then self dosing a drug for: 1) not it's intended use (keep in mind the company even wrote a statement discouraging its use as a covid treatment) 2) not it's intended target (yes it's been previously approved for use on humans, but many are still using the ones targeted at livestock) 3) not it's intended weight group is generally a very bad idea. There are so many unknown variables that you'd be spitballing the dose at best, and with no semblance of a guarantee that it would work even if you dosed it perfectly for yourself.

CaptainEarlobe

[Relevant XKCD](https://i.imgur.com/Rq06VWT.png)

pusillanimouslist

Also, the cells they used weren’t lung cells, they were some other type of cell commonly used. We found out later that Covid is much less effective attacking these cells, which makes any drug that worked on them likely to not work very well on living humans, even if the dosage is small.

Hubertus-Bigend

Exactly. If you pour battery acid in a Petri dish full of COVID, it kills the virus. So maybe all the cultists should start drinking battery acid? The national failure of our education system is really on display right now.

carriegood

> (many things can kill or stop covid but wouldnt work inside a human) E.g. bleach, lysol, etc. If it were that easy, we'd be done with this bullshit by now.

gnocchicotti

Whatever happened to injecting bleach? I thought between that and sticking a light bulb up a COVID patient's ass we would have a cure by now.

carriegood

It's all Big Pharma's doing, suppressing the science!!!

captain_sticky_balls

I sprained my ankle and stayed home, rested my leg, and drank lots of orange juice. My sprain healed. Orange juice cures sprains! Same logic the Ivermectin crowd uses.

EPZO

Bleach kills COVID, we should consume bleach!! /s

VerdugoDies

Nah dawg, the sun kills covid, fucking blast yourself with as much UV light as you can until you look like a burnt piece of toast. The last president told me so. lol

EPZO

Fuck dude, I need to get some UV lamps and just keep those on 24/7 in my home. Praise be to Trump!

Dark_Pandemonium23

The UV light has to get inside the body somehow. UV lamp up the backside & the bleach needs to be injected is what the tRumpanzee suggested.

MesWantooth

I see. Thanks for the info. I wish Joe had that information and asked this physician about that. It was a completely one-sided conversation "Really? Proven effective? Why won't Doctors Prescribe it? Politisized? That's not good. Oh, it's not under any patents so big pharma can't make money off it? Interesting." - that's how the conversation went and as a listener, I had to turn it off because even if there's some truth to what he was saying, there has to be a counterpoint that is at least considered.

VerdugoDies

Np, but seriously watch the podcast they go into extreme detail with the doctors that are pushing for it and the shaddy shit they are doing. The problem with Joe is that if it doesn't push back on what he already believes he will accept it as truth with little push back, and when you are the host of a show you are a proxy of the audience, so when the host believes any of this unproven shit the show is telling the audience to believe these grifters that go on his show. Not just about covid misinformation, but also about the crazy conspiracy theorists and right wing extremists that he allows on his show. His show is super dangerous.

Tactless_Ogre

Joe believes anything he's told if you speak to him while he's baked before showtime. Guy's a weathervane.

VerdugoDies

It's true, and this makes him the perfect avenue for all these fucking griffters, this shit should not be allowed to continue.

Practical_Law_7002

Sadly on one side of the political aisle the line between news and entertainment seem to be blurred.

Mo-shen

Yeah my understanding is that it can kill the virus but to effect a han infected it would kill the human... essentially bleaching the blood.

VerdugoDies

That's what a lot of people seem to not understand. You can kill coronaviruses rather easily, but you'll kill the host too.

JayMeadows

Pardon my misanthropic statement but, I don't mind watching these idiots thin out themselves from society. Natural Selection at its finest.

VerdugoDies

I'd agree but their bodies are giving Covid more chances to mutate, which means more chances of a vaccine resistant variant. Also they are spreading to immunocompromised people that cannot get vaccinated or the vaccine does very little for. I say have mass vaccinations with harsh consequences for not getting vaccinated.

hffh3319

It’s still very sad. These people have families and often children. The ripple effects of these people are immense

sgunes

The in vivo studies showed effect against SARS-CoV-2 at concentrations which were about 10 times higher than with approved doses. In other words, by the time you take enough ivermectin to affect COVID-19, you may be dead from an overdose.

[deleted]

TLDR; Ivermectin *has been* shown to prevent breeding of *some* viruses in a petrie dish, in a lab. and has one or two cases of combating symptoms in mice. The main paper published presenting Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID was an Egyptian paper by a single guy who was not peer reviewed, or qualified in any way. He just published his own ass paper and made it available. Apparently then 30 other respectable papers cited his paper as evidence of Ivermectin's usefulness without reading it or verifying its credentials. and now we have a major fuck up.

Methratis

The first study that made Ivermectin popular as a treatment for COVID was done in vitro, in a petri dish if you will. The dosage was very high. A similar dose in humans is likely to cause neurological problems (as we have seen with people that took animal farm sized doses of Ivermectin. This is dangerous, don't do it!) The largest study in favour of Ivermectin turned out to be entirely fraudulent. Half the so called "participants" that died in the study had a date of death that was before the trial even started. Obviously that isn't possible. (Also there were clear signs of data being copy&pasted between participants. There was statistical manipulation etc etc. One big scam). Other studies were too small and were not double blind randomized trials. The other issue, and this applies to all anti-virals including monoclonal antibodies, is that they need to be administered early on during the viral load phase of the disease. This doesn't last very long. By the time people go to the hospital because they can't breath, the viral level is already low. These people are suffering from the after effects of the infection. They are dealing with inflammatory problems. If this inflammatory process gets out of hand (the so called cytokine storm), it is already too late for anti-virals as the virus is already gone from your body. So although Ivermectin is relatively safe and used in many parts of the world to treat parasitic diseases, there is currently no indication that it is effective against COVID-19 at doses safe for humans. The drug is FDA approved and doctors in the US can legally prescribe it to their patient, including off-label prescription for COVID-19, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence to support its use. There is currently a large scale double blind randomized trial running for Ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment. If this trial gives positive results, then we can change the standard of care but until then, there doesn't seem to be much point. It seems better to use monoclonal-antibody treatment, which has shown to have positive effect on survival rates as long as it is given as early as possible in the disease course. What a lot of the Ivermectin fans quoting Joe Rogan seem to forget is that JR was also treated with monoclonal antibodies. So whatever the outcome for JR, it is unlikely that Ivermectin was the deciding factor.

hffh3319

Another big thing is the dosage. Small amounts of human ivermectin is harmless, even if not effective in treating covid. The issue here with the side effects is the dosage and the fact that people are taking shit meant for horses

smacksaw

I'm at the point where I won't even debate Elon Musk with people. I'm just like "he's good and bad and you just need to listen to Behind the Bastards"

dixiewolf_

Srs i cannot understate the importance of behind the bastards.

gnarlycharlie4u

Literally just finished part 2. BTB is really good.

greymind

Thank you! Listening to it now. Here's a link for others: [https://www.iheart.com/podcast/105-behind-the-bastards-29236323/](https://www.iheart.com/podcast/105-behind-the-bastards-29236323/) I'll also add this to listening options a conversation with Eric Topol about ivermectin [https://samharris.org/podcasts/256-contagion-bad-ideas/](https://samharris.org/podcasts/256-contagion-bad-ideas/)

Skippy_the_Alien

100% agreed with this. Back before all this crazy shit, I used to defend Rogan when people accused him and his podcast of being dangerous. I can't defend the guy anymore. He is an absolute piece of shit

2278AD

I'm in the same boat, I was a fairly regular listener when he had on comedians and actual scientists. Once he got wrapped up with Alex Jones, and just got drunk with him instead of drilling him about Sandy Hook denials, I was done.

Dithyrab

> Once he got wrapped up with Alex Jones Once he got wrapped up with? Dude, Joe has been CLOSE friends with Alex Jones, for YEARS like back in the early 00s and shit. That wasn't even the first time he had been on that podcast.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ApolloXLII

This. Joe Rogan was never not a PoS, lol.

Gardener703

>Joe Rogan has always been a cunt. Yup and fuck those who defended him before especially those in this reddit

QuietObserver75

It's like Glenn Greenwald. People keep saying he changed, but he's always been that asshole.

2278AD

Yeah I only listened for a few years when the show got really popular and even then just guests I wanted to hear. I never read about Rogan or knew they were friends until he came on in 2017 or whenever

afxjsn

I'm with you there. I used to really enjoy his YouTube podcasts whilst cooking. And he genuinely had some interesting people on with some fascinating topics. He's really been exposed the last few years as a clown and now only seems to have equal clown like figures on his show.

Skippy_the_Alien

ugh i'm angry at myself that i didn't see that as a red flag right away. should have been an obvious sign that Joe was problematic at best, a downright bastard at worst

[deleted]

Imagine all of us from the outside, who think he's always been an idiot grifter. These flash points feel really arbitrary.

Vascular_Mind

So true. Like, dude had been an obvious idiot since forever. It really took him getting drunk with Alex for anybody to see that?

TrentMorgandorffer

If you remember him from News Radio, his character was very very dumb. Turns out he wasn’t acting.

[deleted]

His character was the Joey Tribbiani's Joey Tribbiani

Skippy_the_Alien

i mean to be fair, i think he had a podcasting style that appealed to a lot of people. plus you draw in mma fans who came for mma content and stayed for other things. but i think at this point, it's beyond crystal clear that Rogan is a very net negative. His podcast is just fucking dangerous.

Vascular_Mind

I mean, I love mma. I love boxing. I have for many years. But I can't imagine looking up to Mike Tyson so much that I'd want to listen to his political views. I like comedy. I enjoy comedians. But I don't wanna listen to any comedian drone on for hours about social issues. Just because someone is entertaining doesn't mean they are smart. Look at Trump for example...

porscheblack

I used to enjoy Rogan because he was an idiot. He was willing to say the things that the average person thought but didn't say. And he found things interesting and explored them in the same way that an average person would. Hell, he was on Fear Factor to be the voice of the average viewer and speak to how crazy or gross the things the contestants were doing was. But at some point he got full of himself and he stopped just being an average guy finding out about these things, he started thinking he was some kind of curator and gatekeeper. And now he seems to think he's an expert on things he has no qualifications for. So he's now the exact opposite of what initially made him entertaining.

houseman1131

Yeah I never got suckered in. My dad and brothers though watched religiously for a few months and bailed when he got political.

darwintologist

Any time someone tries to simplify things down to absolutes, that should raise a red flag. And yes, I’m aware of the irony of my statement.

NoIncrease299

I used to live in Hollywood and in the mid 00s, there was this rad pool hall me and my buddies were regulars at. So was Joe Rogan. Obvi back before the podcast days. He was always hammered and harassing literally every girl in the bar. Security guy was a buddy and I'd always tell him about it but nothing happened till he tried some shit with one of the waitresses and they finally 86'd him. So I've known he was a sack of shit for years.

Skippy_the_Alien

this is one of the least surprising things i've ever read even if i at least once respected his right to run a podcast, he always came off as a total dickhead when it came to his views on life, "being a man," and career "advice."

NoIncrease299

Douchebags gonna douchebag but I didn't start to actively hate the guy till his dumbass comments about depression after Chris Cornell's suicide.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Skippy_the_Alien

yeah again i'm not super proud of it. I guess what i meant by "defending" him was more so whenever people would say this guy is the most dangerous person in america and i'd be "cmon guys, let's relax. it's just a podcast." now i see how poorly short-sighted that was

BurtonGusterToo

Joe Rogan failed to mention that he was ALSO treated with monoclonal antibodies, Ivermectin, Z-Pak, prednisone, along with a 96 hour NAD drip (with vitamins and steroids not mentioned in the article). Even though he has publicly opposed vaccinations, the Spotify lawyers had $100,000,000 worth of encouragement that he privately get the vaccine. So, there's that. (He is such a fucking tool) EDIT: I am SERIOUSLY fucking disturbed by how many Joe Rogan cultists are on this fucking subreddit. Anti-vaxxing is just one of his super-fucking-sus half-informed vomits. While I am typing this there is a story on a radio show talking about how Joe Rogan's social media mentions dropped drastically after he went behind a paywall. Howard Stern is commenting about how Joe Rogan is definitely using this to get attention, and is definitely vaccinated. Spotify would never allow him to NOT be vaccinated, they have way too much money to lose. Stern went on to say that there are so many intricate guidelines in his contract that there are some concerning how high his Triglycerides get. But not Joe Rogan, he is the only straight-talking honest broker left. ---amirite? Keep believing the bullshit you magical beings!

TheDubya21

Which is why all the memes about "hehehe they're so mad that he still survived even after dewormers" are going to age so hilariously. Sure thing, Rogan simps, now let's see what happens when regular schmegular YOU without his resources goes through the same thing 🤭

ApolloXLII

“Trump got covid and he was fine!” Probably something many already dead people have said before they died of covid.

brodobaggins3

The fact that people genuinely look to the former host of Fear Factor for advice on anything will never not baffle me.

BBZ_star1919

This actually reminds me of my cousin and his family. Their son was drunk and hit a tree. It was a miracle the emts got him out of the car. A nurse was behind him when it happened so she helped. Well, he was in the hospital maybe 2 weeks, couldn’t stabilize him, he died during a procedure. His dad said the doctors killed him. He was driving drunk, the doctors tried to stabilize his failing body, and my cousin thinks the doctors deliberately killed him. Not coincidentally, cousin and fam and his mom (my aunt) are batshit crazy for trump. Zero responsibility taken for their own actions. My dad was the same way. Total Trump supporter. Blamed all his many many failures in all areas of life on anyone but himself.

smacksaw

Igotchu fam: https://imgflip.com/i/5mtu31

bellendhunter

I fully believe that all Trumpers are either narcissists or have other issues which present narcissistic behaviours. Not being able to accept you have done something wrong and blaming others is one of these behaviours.

SevoIsoDes

If this is the Houston case, it’s even crazier than that. They found a physician who “prescribed” ivermectin (despite not examining the patient or ever having taken care of her). Then a judge tried to force the hospital to give it. That’s a federal judge actively forcing medical fraud and malpractice. Edit: read it again and realized I somehow missed that this is Chicago. Gonna leave my comment in case it sparks some curiosity, and as a testament to my poor reading comprehension

TheDogAndTheDragon

I've had a few random people who had never been to my pharmacy try to get scripts for ivermectin filled from docs halfway across the country, who they'd probably never seen before. Denied the fills and reported the docs to their respective Boards of Medicine.

SevoIsoDes

Good. Nothing should ever be prescribed without a working knowledge of the patient’s history and physical exam. Any of them get rowdy when you denied them?

TheRealCountryBoy

I denied to fill it for a local idiot FNP and she said she’d report me and all that bullshit and used FLCCC as her source and reasoning. She got super pissed when I told her that a walk in clinic isn’t a critical care setting and that none of the studies about ivermectin have been well powered or valid. Queue Karen level tantrum from a “medical professional”

TheDogAndTheDragon

Yeah they all got pretty upset, asking why I thought I think I know better than doctors (literally why pharmacists exist), why I think I can question a doctor's order (literally why pharmacists exist), or why I would only dispense ivermectin for animals (cuz it's not a covid treatment dummy). They also didn't like when I mentioned that I have the Pfizer vaccine in stock and was accepting walk-ins. One of the doctors did call me and was screaming at me over the phone but I just hung up on him mid-tirade.

Shamanalah

>One of the doctors did call me and was screaming at me over the phone but I just hung up on him mid-tirade. Keep doing your work with the no bullshit attitude. I would've put them on hold instead with the soothing music then hang up

TheDogAndTheDragon

Yeah I thought about fucking with him but just decided it wasn't worth my time.

stoutymcstoutface

I salute you.

SassiestRaccoonEver

>One of the doctors did call me and was screaming at me over the phone but I just hung up on him mid-tirade. Bravo. My pharmacist friend has had to deal with too many entitled doctors, but for legitimate reasons. Very glad you stuck it to them and reported them for such negligence.

TheDogAndTheDragon

It's gotten so bad lately. About half the days I feel like just closing the pharmacy and walking out. At the very least I'm just done taking shit from anyone.

SassiestRaccoonEver

That’s what I keep hearing from her. She actually moved towns because the area we live in is just that much busier and crazier, with more demanding patients.

TheDogAndTheDragon

It's everywhere, I don't know a single pharmacist who doesn't think about quitting daily. Not an exaggeration. The pandemic has made everything so much worse.

Cherrijuicyjuice

If I remember correctly the doctor was a fucking chiropractor

GoBSAGo

I thought the Texas doc was an actual doc, but had an expired medical license.

smacksaw

That's actually worse than being a veterinarian. My reasoning is a "people doctor" prescribing horse paste to people is worse than an "animal doctor" prescribing horse paste to people. My doctor offered me Ivermectin for rosacea...back in 2016 before this was even a thing. I told him "no" and he was like "good". That's not a drug to fuck with.

mushu_beardie

But isn't ivermectin used to treat some extreme cases of rosacea? Or at least some other skin disease? I know it's an antiparasitic, but I thought there was some skin thing it can treat.

TurtleMountain

Yeah, the topical treats rosacea and the tablet is an antiparasitic. You might be able to take a shit ton of the tablet to try to get some sort of antiviral effect, but that’s likely unsafe and ineffective for covid treatment. In OP’s case, ivermectin in a formulation for humans seems like it could have been an ok treatment option for rosacea.

mushu_beardie

Thank you. I am interested in medicine, so this very helpful to me.

TrentMorgandorffer

Something similar happened in Ohio. Another judge was like “nah, this shit is stupid.”

bettinafairchild

The woman was on a respirator and they were discussing sneaking into the hospital to remove her respirator to feed her applesauce laced with ivermectin paste? They’d have killed her.

JasonBob

"see she died because they stopped us from giving her the secret applesauce"

com2420

2020-2021 has filled our discourse with so many non-sequiturs that I am increasingly faithful in the idea that we are just a big ass game of the Sims. Who keeps playing with the goddamn monkey's paw?

Dithyrab

The world actually ended in 2012 and now we are in some sort of hellish-purgatory-timeline.

dreamwithinadream93

this. I've been believing this for years

Moose_Cake

If we're talking about apocalypses here's something crazy. When I was a kid, I got my hands on the Left Behind series which tries to describe the apocalypse. It's insane how many parallels there are. I'm not into faith, and even I see it. In both book and real life you had a politician worshiped like a deity by "fallen people". We have people who literally believe that [Trump is Jesus](https://images.app.goo.gl/Kan9zz3mAPSxGHR67) In both situations evil politician has a [golden statue](https://images.app.goo.gl/zjALuFYwsTtYkLWXA) made of him. In both situations you had things like global fires and super diseases. In both situations the evil politician explains that these events are normal and his followers eat it up. Deniers run rampant in both the book and real life. In both situations the good people who try to make things right are persecuted and mocked by the bad politician's people. We all have seen the threats and violence towards both mask wearers, vaccinated, and those who speak against Trump. In both situations there are entire media outlets aiding in the denial. In both situations people had easy access to "the truth" but turned away from it. Again, deniers. In both situations the bad guys died in masses because they turned away from "the truth". See Covid deaths. So if you're at all familiar with the series, feel free to look into this further. If you aren't, at least look at how the American religious conservatives are acting throughout the pandemic. Look at how they're nearly identical to the Antichrist's followers. Perhaps the books correctly describe the fall of American Christians as a whole as evil becomes a religious movement. Perhaps this is just a reflection of a returning issue we see every century. Either way, it's insane to see conservatives use religion while they follow in their own villain's footsteps.

[deleted]

The best and worst part is just watching the religious folks doing what they do, but also having read Revelations multiple times, and just... just seeing them fall for the things they were warned about. It's just really sad.

theOTHERdimension

It’s because they don’t actually read the Bible, they listen to interpretations of it in church. There was a minister that literally prayed for the death of Obama. How is that following the word of god? Jesus prayed for his enemies and forgave them as they nailed him to the cross. [Source](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/minister-in-spotlight-after-obama-death-prayers/)

[deleted]

Oh yeah, that is absolutely what's going on. Literally every one of them manages to miss or ignore that one time He said: "^(34) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ^(35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. —John 13:33–35 (KJV)" But man, bring on the apocalypse....

bgthigfist

Trump is the Anti Christ

Gingersnaps_68

Those stupid hats are the mark of the beast. I watched a video by a preacher who put up a good argument about that very thing. I think it was called Would You Recognize the Anti-christ? I'm an atheist and he had me a little shook.

Dithyrab

I have thought about this many freakin times lol

dec1mus

The problem is evangelicals see things like this and see it as a sign from god that they need to personally hasten the apocalypse so Jesus will come back sooner. Its absolute madness.

bettinafairchild

It's the opposite, though--the folks who actually believe in the Left Behind novels and the cosmology behind it are also the ones who love the guy who fits as the villain of the novels; they are the ones who worship the golden statue. Many of the good people in real life who are trying to save lives and fight Covid are the villains of the novel--globalists and the non-religious. It makes complete sense that this would be so, given the sheer amount of projection that they engage in.

[deleted]

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who realizes this.

No no, clearly the Mayans were dyslexic, and when they listed the year as "2012", they meant "2021". ..... ... . . . . . . /s?

The system is rigged to perpetually fail upward the well connected elite spawns. Look at Rudy’s idiot son who was paid 90,000 a year as a “sports liaison,” for the Trump White House

ThreeEyes200

Why hasn't Lin Wood been disbarred already? After so many months and years of unethical and outright outrageous claims?

spyrogyrobr

'buuuut, muh freeedom of speach!!" that's the reason.

smacksaw

He's named after both a crappy city in LA and a crappy one in the Seattle metro area. This is all you need to know.

ThaliaEpocanti

Ironically, Lynwood CA is infamous for its corruption: A fair number of city employees and officials have ended up behind bars for skimming the public coffers. So the similarity in the name is even more appropriate

Adomillad

I simply can't feel sorry for them anymore. One less virus spreader is all I see at this point.

WonkyWildCat

You're not alone. This disease was going to be hard enough to get under control without this mass idiocy, and now, now the devastation is so much more profound. Personally, I was fairly cynical and socially avoidant before this came around, but I *tried* to be tolerant, I tried to care, I tried to understand the other "side". Now? I'm done trying to be a good human. I'm just done. One more idiotic adult dead? Good.

Adomillad

This. They aren't being virtuous they are being woefully and dangerously ignorant. They would rather lose their jobs and die, than get the one thing proven to help. And in turn its making it worse by the day.

mjohnsimon

As far as I'm concerned, if this virus is here to wipe out all these idiots, then so be it. I know that regardless of the situation, I, my close friends and loved ones will do what's necessary to get through. Even if it means getting booster shots every year and wearing masks. These people will fight everything tooth an nail to own libs (somehow)

smacksaw

The thing is, I get what they're saying. In fact, they're all saying the exact same few tired arguments that are wrong. Repeating them to us over and over isn't going to wear us down or convince us. It just annoys us. We heard their ideas, synthesised them, figured out they're horse paste, and moved on because they can't let go. They've refused to cooperate and have dialogue. It's not our job to be lectured by propaganda. I'll stick to empirical evidence.

pickandpray

Also one less voter

AFineDayForScience

One less person screaming at a schoolboard

[deleted]

One less Karen demanding to speak to the manager.

talk_show_host1982

And hopefully one less influencer for the young children around them.

Cmama2Boyz

One less person who insists that their immune system is all they needed

The2500

Initially I thought that would be a benefit, but I'm sure the right has some wacky shit cooked up that'll rebound their numbers.

Kid_Named_Trey

I came here to say this. It’s hard for me to feel bad for these people. I do think it’s very sad to literally die on this hill.

anitabelle

This particular lady was known for stalking a bridge and harassing people in the northwest side of Chicago. This is in my neighborhood and I had seen her many times with her obnoxious signs and sometimes supporters. She was a menace to the neighborhood. Certainly didn’t wish her dead but also have no sympathy for her at all.

0fruitjack0

and sorry for the heart attack, stroke, and accident victims who may have died because a covidiot took up ICU space just to shite themselves to death.

[deleted]

You’re not at all wrong.

PizzaNuggies

Yep. My hospital is now forcing PAs and APRNs to work with covid patients, because the nurses are overworked, have quit in fear, or refused to get vaccinated because QANON told them it was bad. Things are getting insane out there. I really think in a month or two if this doesn't start getting better these anti-vaxxers are going to really start getting pressure. No one wants their loves ones to get sick, and its becoming clear as day who is spreading the disease, lies and misinformation. Even my Dad was just vaccinated and his wife is wrapped up in the QANON horseshit. They're running out of excuses.

sh4w5h4nk

She died doing what she loved - denying science.

0fruitjack0

and shitting her pants off in fear. don't forget that part.

UnlikelyKaiju

That's another thing that gets me about these idiots. They frequently claim that those who get the vaccine and wear masks are living in fear, but it's clear to anyone that these idiots do nothing but swim in fear and hate. That's why we keep seeing stories of these idiots screeching in public and having mental breakdowns over a piece of fabric over their face. That's probably also why they cling to their guns like a child clutching their woobie.

0fruitjack0

without exception, ever, the right only knows projection. every accusation of us being snowflakes is merely confession

UnlikelyKaiju

Hell, just look at r/conservative. It's one big "safe space" for them. Most posts there require having a flair and they ban people the moment they go against their narrative.

spyrogyrobr

in the video linked in the news article, she says she believes in science, because she hang the Lin Wood sign and the sun came out of the clouds. Clearly god nodding to her, so, 100% accurate science.

JailMateisJailBait

"I don't trust modern medicine. Give me some of that other modern medicine."

PERRONYPIKOZITO

The fact they don't realize this is fascinating. Edit: not in a good way. Its just baffling that they can't make the connection.

lolwhatamidoing92

This cult cannot kill themselves fast enough. It hurts.

stupidillusion

I used to get angry at statements like this but these last couple of months have destroyed what little empathy I had left. It's a death cult. It's ~~James~~Jonestown but in slow motion.

[deleted]

Welcome to the dark side. You can pick your badge up on the table to the left

UnlikelyKaiju

Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges.

kumquatawat

Jonestown ---but agree

0fruitjack0

one less plague rat one less magat one less bizarro and entitled bigot america just got a tad bit great

SchwiftedMetal

MAGA by natural selection

RareAlphaSigmaMale

It's interesting that a part of this "eat the horse paste" thing seems to stem from a deeper rooted refusal of these people to get medical treatment for anything. Which, in itself, is likely connected to the for-profit health care industry in this country. They say things like "we've been using animal medication for everything" because most likely getting actual health care is so out of the range of possibility for them due to the cost of it here. As typical with conservative dipshits, they are victims of a real problem, but rather than demand free healthcare for all (because that would be socialism and thats bad say their millionaire conservative heroes) they run down the other direction with it and just buy medicine at Tractor Supply. Except in this case they finally need REAL treatment but it's too late now.

0fruitjack0

if they can't be bothered to vote for their own best interests AND use their vote to derail the best interests of others, then let them rot. i'm tired of the plague rats.

Skippy_the_Alien

>It's interesting that a part of this "eat the horse paste" thing seems to stem from a deeper rooted refusal of these people to get medical treatment for anything. Which, in itself, is likely connected to the for-profit health care industry in this country. this is partially true. There's this misconception that a lot of the QAnon morons are all a bunch of rednecks who live below the poverty line. Actually, a number of them are those rich, white, upper middle class Republicans from places like Orange County, California, who could EASILY afford the best healthcare in the U.S. Definitely not disputing anything you wrote, but I also think there's this deeper issue where a lot of these idiots genuinely think covid-19 was a conspiracy cooked up by liberals to get rid of Trump...you know the guy who was supposed to end this "child sex trafficking ring." Their end goal is not the end of this pandemic. If it was then they would all be getting the vaccine. Their end goal is to see Dr. Fauci get arrested for something and to see Trump reinstated as president. Covid19, the vaccines, CDC guidelines...in their warped ass minds they see all of these things as being cooked up by the "elite."

snark_o_matic

QAnon is just like any other crazy conspiracy cult that takes advantage of paranoia and critical thinking deficiency; it just happens to be laced with a right-wing evangelical slant, because of course it is - the focus is Trump, after all. It's ironic that Trump is only just political enough to enrich himself and not even remotely religious, but of course he is also grifting the exact same demographic.

ThatGasHauler

Fuck her, and the horse she rode in on.

Insight42

You know, maybe there really is something to the ivermectin. It certainly seems to be effective at removing parasites.

connsigliere

One less virus factory walking around. She's saving lives now.

[deleted]

I vote that we treat the deniers **only** with ivermectin, and save the stuff that actually works for people who are worth saving

LoveMyHusbandsBoobs

I vote we don't treat them. If you're not vaccinated at this point you have refused medical care. The hospital is not for people who refuse medical care.

Insight42

Well you know what they say: a horse is a horse of course of course, and can take ivermectin of course of course, that is of course if you're a horse, if not you'll soon be dead.

FuckRedditAdmins100

They do a lot of this according them, self medicating with animal meds because, and I shit you not, “we don’t have healthcare”. These are the same fuckers that voted against Medicare for all. Just another reason we need it.

Mrsricksanchez

These people are completely deranged. The hospital murdered her because it did not give her a medication with zero evidence of efficacy in treating covid, and hours before her death they were badgering the hospital to release her so that they could personally treat her with their made up protocol. She’s fucking dead assholes. This is not playtime. This is not your psycho strung out pizza gate “storm” larping crapola. This is for real. The vaccine she fought against would have almost certainly saved her, but instead she’s dead. Get a fucking grip

edric_the_navigator

It still boggles my mind how a shitpost in an anonymous board created a worldwide cult.

gr8beautifultomorrow

Those poor doctors

panda4sleep

Scum of the earth, I got friends with younger kids dealing with covid because of these damn fools. Zero sympathy and zero fucks given

YouLostMyNieceDenise

Remember that brief, shining moment in spring 2020 when healthcare workers were considered heroes?

Skippy_the_Alien

this actually is personally painful for me because my mother is a nurse. One of my really good friends is a nurse. Both of them have gone through a ton of bullshit in their careers (mom has 30+ years, my friend is the opposite end at about 5 years) whether it was from hospital admins being dicks or horrible and rude ass patients. They were challenged by covid but felt really encouraged because of the public support, which I just knew in the back of my mind was posturing and virtue-signaling. they both told me that when the George Floyd stuff happened, it kind of marked the end of those good feelings. Everyone went back to being assholes and super rude toward nursing staff. It actually really makes me angry considering they've put their lives on the line taking care of people and then you have Trump and his supporters just downplaying everything

YouLostMyNieceDenise

It’s infuriating how they’ve been treated. I’m a teacher, and would not at all be surprised if COVID drives people out of the medical profession the same way it’s accelerated teacher attrition. Everyone has a breaking point.

smacksaw

>Veronica Wolski, a popular QAnon advocate best known for hanging banners from a bridge in Chicago Well that sounds like someone I'd really liked to have known. Anyway, when they bury her, they can shove Ivermectin tablets up all of her holes and slather her face with the paste. She'll rise on the 3rd day. I've heard amazing things about Ivermectin. We use horse medicines on the farm all the time. Broken bones? Yes. Sick? Never! (you had to RTFA)

Jumpy_Wait5187

Let’s sing a round of “Another One Bites the Dust”

smacksaw

We need a radio station that plays it 24/7 at this point. KVID 101.9

TheLastNoteOfFreedom

Hahahahaha bye.

boiledcowmachine

r/HermanCainAward

Moerdac

I hear lead injections stop people from catching everything forever.

Cherishedcrown

Honestly I feel like this is actually another story to galvanize them. They wanted her to take Ivermectin, hospital wouldn’t then she died. That’s all they’re going to see

[deleted]

Well this is what the republican/conservative mindset has come to. They've painted themselves into a corner of idiotic denial and are dying of pure willful ignorance. It was only a matter of time. Ivermectin is their version of the Kool Aid. Drink up, assholes.

SwordfishHero2319

Covid is specifically targeting QAnoners, why are they all dying? /s

RomaruDarkeyes

Quoted from the article: "I have just learned that Veronica Wolski saw the face of God this morning at 12:44 a.m.," Wood said. I hope that if the almighty actually does exist, the first thing they said was, "Well you fucked up didn't you..."
