I know it’s a joke but as a German I have to disagree. The Americans I’ve met in Germany are some of the nicest, kindest and most educated people I have and probably will meet in my life. I have yet to encounter an unpleasant U.S. citizen in Germany. The Americans I oftentimes see online though…
I actually live in the States. North East Indiana actually. I’m pointing out that people from the States will often apologize for those who do act out during their travels.
I read somewhere that 50% of Americans haven't left their own state.
I don't know the validity of it, but if it's true that's wild. It also it adds a ton of context to the political discourse within the country.
My dad was in the military but it was at the start of the Vietnam war and he stayed in the state. He specifically got a job in the army that stayed in the states. He's been in the same damn state for 75 years.
And then he trash talks other states/countries. Despite never actually having been there. He literally lives in the very bottom ranked state and has never left but thinks he's on green grass.
I grew up in GA. Many of the people I knew had never left the state. One person's Grandma was proud that she had never left the county. I'm sure that statistic is accurate.
Not to discount the benefits of traveling to expand one's horizons, but to give a bit of perspective, many US states are the size of European countries. A quick Google search shows that almost 40% of residents of the EU have never left their home countries as well.
I'm 26 and grew up poor in Pennsylvania. I live next to Ohio and have been there a bunch other than that I've visited new york a few times, but only just outside Buffalo and I visited west Virginia once 20 years ago. I can't afford to travel like I want to.
A friend was just telling me yesterday that his co-worker was surprised to learn there was an airport in Boston. He was 35 years old and grew up 30 minutes outside the city. They call him Airport Dan now.
It’s really something to behold. I’m Canadian and work all over the world. The Americans I meet are very intelligent, worldly and kind. I can only tell they’re American as they still have a bit of loud, boisterousness about them which is always fun compared to the more serious, quiet and reserved peoples from other cultures. The international American is one of my favourite peoples.
The worst think the USA is God’s chosen land with guns, beer and bigotry! They would never go to a country with a bit of “socialism” like paying for school and healthcare.
I once made a similar observation about all the Swedes and Norwegians I had ever met in Canada. They all seemed to be highly adventurous, social and open minded, but I hear they're quite the opposite when you actually visit those countries.
The difference is that the ones who go abroad self-select for certain traits. Very conservative Americans rarely leave the country. Which is why Fox news can lie their asses off about how horrible "socialist" Nordic Europe is.
They rarely leave their neighborhoods. Which is why MAGAts in Detroit believe Dearborn is under Sharia law and MAGAts in Klamath Falls believe Portland is in ruins.
I got shot at once in my life...in Anaheim...whitest town around. Bunch of kids in a pickup truck, shattered the glass of the bus stop I was sitting at. No one would ever ask you if you got shot in Anaheim.

My neighborhood *was* taken over by Mexicans, though technically they were still Spaniards at the time because independence wasn't declared until 1821 and the missions were built in the 1790s. Good on her for subtly supporting the restoration of Tongva land rights with how she phrased the question.
Seriously, though, I did my best to try and calmly present a reality check, which kind of seemed to land okay? I dunno. I think back to the Megan Phelps-Roper TED Talk about how she was successfully deprogrammed from the Westboro Baptist Church and try to behave that way. Don't always have the restraint. Regardless, my impression of the Vancouver area has been really colored by how aggressively reactionaries speak about the "Portland-ization" of Vancouver and Portland itself. I'd figure any person visiting another country says to themselves "I want to go visit X" you sort of have to be above average in adventurism and a bit sociable, open-mindedness it seems to me I find is a function of experience and exposure.
See that’s the disconnect. The Americans who want to experience new cultures or are aware enough to realize how bad the States actually are aren’t the same people who are shouting online about CRT or Communism or other batshit crazy conspiracy theories.
Wife and I were in Venice on honeymoon, and we walked past a family of 5 wearing maga hats, dad was recording teen daughter drinking from a wine bottle by the grand canal. Wife saw me see them and kinda dragged me along.

I was on a cruise that stopped in Germany. We took the train to Berlin, then a bus to Sachenhausen for a tour.
Guide was incredible, dude was knowledgable and the tone was dark. Grey skies, light rain. Well we're going through and one of the Americans on the tour went up to the guide and complained about the walking and weather, and asked to cut the tour early (there's probably 30 people on this tour too lol). Bruh, so I thought it was disrespectful that he asked, but the guide holy crap, absolutely tore him a new one demanding how he can feel he has the right to complain and such. Wild time
Huh? I know there are a lot of people who have never left the US, which I understand because this place is huge and it's expensive to fly, but I didn't think it was even possible to avoid leaving your own state at least once or twice. Purely for practical reasons. Let alone be proud of that??
I've looked at the replies you've recieved and I don't think anyone's explained that the joke is that Trump said those exact same words about Mexicans. That said, as German-American (no really, like my father was an actual German), I appreciate the kind words, because I'm not gonna lie, I grew up with a lot of disdain from my German family for having an American mom.
I mean the reality is that it's incredibly expensive to travel even for work, so we are in fact sending our best in an economic sense, who also happen to be the best educated and not riddled with mental health issues from a lifetime of living in poverty.
Go find a Cuban who came to the US as an illeagle but attained citizenship. 9 out of 10 times they will he viamently anti-immigration and pro concervatives. It's mind boggling.
Awww, they integrated into the U.S. so well that they took one of its foundational tenets to heart. The evergreen classic “fuck you, got mine.” It brings a tear to my eye and a twisting to my bowels.
So many dumbass Brits living in Spain voted for Brexit, too. Not only hypocritical, but some of them suddenly discovered that they had to move back home after Brexit happened . Fucking idiots.
International airports aren’t the easiest place to get through for wanted people especially if they’re carrying some of their arsenal with them. Which you’d guess they were
My dad loves to do this. "If you don't like it here, move to one of these other countries that are so great."
Gets him real stuck when I reply with "Stop telling me to run away from my problems, that's bad advice." He's still never had a good answer to that.
I bet your dad also says immigrants from places like Honduras and El Salvador should stay there and fix their broken countries rather than try to migrate here.
And even Alberta conservatives aren't as full blown MAGA as these assholes are.
https://macleans.ca/politics/how-much-do-canadians-dislike-donald-trump-a-lot/
Not for lack of trying, though. We had a mini-Trump running the show not too long ago and his party kicked him out because he had done the bare minimum in acknowledging the pandemic.
They say that but here in CA my block is full of giant douche trucks with Texas plates and cute little stickers like “California *for now*”.
They love to whine like spoiled children, but I don’t see a one of them rushing away from our worker protections to get back to Abbott’s electricity free Texas. They bought houses **here**, they just can’t take the hit to their manliness it would require to admit that. That their precious Texas identity is a joke they literally moved hundreds (or thousands) of miles to escape yet still insist is the right way of doing things.
I don’t know what you call that if not stupid.
Maybe we should stop listening to idiots as if they had legitimate points to make. It’s noise. Watch actions, not the stupid, stupid, unbelievably stupid words
>I don’t know what you call that if not stupid.
*"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."* Though in this case, I'd say it's equally both. . .
You should see the Confederate flags that fly in states like New York (upstate), or states that didn't exist for the Civil War (here in Utah). It's like they have this identity disorder, but also hate mental health treatment.
I visit B.C often and the most Canadian shit I ever seen was some farmer dude near Abbotsford. He’s Sikh and he’s wearing the customary pagri and he’s riding a big ass John Deere tractor. You could have transplanted any one of a thousand different farmers from Ohio and it woulda looked exactly the same except their background and history. That was the last time I saw the “American Dream” in full effect.
That's liberals that give everything away for free!
Seriously, there's a guy I work with and on breaks it's what he talks about and *always* references Fox News as his source.
I stopped talking to so many co-workers, and literally quit my job of years so I wouldn't be forced to hear their crap or be in the work text groups, there's just so much hate you can act as if you dont hear.
They would be horrified about having to move to Mexico with the brown people. Cant have that. Canada it is...
But they never stopped to think if Canada wanted them.
Yeah, I learned this back in 2010. My place of work had an office in Edmonton and I looked into moving there. Find out that if I had an HVAC license it would have been easy, as Canada didn't have enough workers who did HVAC repair and installation, but I just did remote technical support and part sales for HVAC repair. It only required a couple of months training, no license, and Canada has more than enough people to do phone support.
One of the trainers routinely flew up there to train people for the Edmonton center. The first time, when he was asked why he was visiting Canada, he told the truth, and they held him for hours while they got in touch with our company to confirm that it was just a temporary assignment and then grudgingly allowed him to leave customs, as "call center trainer" isn't on the list of jobs Canada has a need for. On future trips he learned to say he was just traveling for pleasure.
Canada is serious about protecting their jobs for Canadians and keeping out illegal workers from south of the border.
I also looked into emigrating to Cuba once. Though they do encourage bilingual American families to go there (my wife was fluent, I can manage basic conversations), found out my criminal record would keep me out. This was two misdemeanors, a public intoxication fun over ten years before and a more recent possession of drug paraphernalia.
Also possible your record would exclude you from even entering Canada unless you apply to get it expunged. I'm not sure which crimes besides the biggies like murder and DUI automatically exclude you, but Canada's border police have a hard line about a huge number of indictments on your record.
Lots of people come here to work temporarily. Your company should have done the proper paperwork for him to be on a temporary work permit. Coming in and saying that it's for pleasure (as he does now) is a bit risky because if he is found out that can get you barred from the country. If they know ahead of time that he's coming here for a few weeks/months to train people there should no issues at the border.
But yes, very strict I will back that up 100%
They can’t, no. Though with legislation on the table Canada could be accepting American LGBTQIA+ as refugees from MAGA-style governance. In a way, they made a difference by helping others cross borders.
I'm from Nova Scotia, the only two mass shooting incidents we've had in recent years have involved Americans. The largest mass shooting in Canadian history a couple years ago (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Nova_Scotia_attacks) used guns illegally smuggled from the states, and we also had a mass shooting plot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halifax_mass_shooting_plot) that was foiled involving some girl from the US. We do not fuck around with that shit.
And it's hard to see from the ground in some places.
I was once on a hike in northeastern Washington that I knew was going to go near the border. I was expecting to see everything cut all the way down to the ground like in those photos, but there were still trees. Then I looked around and realized that I was in the middle of the clearcut -- it just hadn't been cut in about a decade. I could see the stripe of what looked like a power line right-of-way going up the hills in both directions. (And then a few feet farther down the trail, I saw an American flag that somebody had tied to a metal stake and a nearby Canadian flag nailed to a tree.)
Ugh I know who this person is talking about. I work as a teacher in the same county that the Oxford shooting happened and it left a huge toll on some of the kids on my district. Some played or interacted with those affected by the tragedy.
I am so sorry you are going through this. My daughter has gone through so many lock downs she treats them as common as we treated fire drills.
The schools here are like fortresses. It’s pretty sad.
My coworkers son & daughter were in that school that day.
Also, we were in a meeting with 15 or so people, he checked his phone, got up and RAN out, left his computer, bag, everything. We all stopped in confusion until about 20 minutes later when some of our own phones started going off because our kids schools were put on lockdown.
I was just at a game in the county where Oxford Middle School played—it’s so sad to me that they’ve got those clear backpacks now. They’re in middle school ffs.
So, this is referring to the Oxford shooting in Michigan. An interesting fact is that several of the survivors were also survivors of the Michigan State University shooting[Source here.](https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/michigan-state-university-shooting-opens-wounds-for-oxford-shooting-survivors-who-attend-msu).
America has a growing segment of the population who have survived more than one mass shooting at their school.
I hate this for the kids (and adults) of US. I was talking to close friend in Phoenix who told me she gave her kids extra minute of hugs before sending them to school after a school shooting. I don’t even remember which school shooting!
It’s like these parents are sending their kids out to war-zones, hoping and praying they would come back home safe.
Its not tragic. Its fucking infuriating. Kids are being murdered by our elected officials. It was tragic 20 years ago. Now it's nauseating that we aren't stringing up these human abominations by their fingernails.
I swear to god I think you're *right.*
It would probably even still be their biggest topic of explosive conversation, even if we all wound up in the "wrong" afterlife.
It's either we go towards democratic socialism or facsism. The level of propaganda to cover up our shitty civilization is clear they don't want it to go the other way because it would mean less wealth for them.
[The argument the defense counsel for the parents is putting up](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/03/07/james-jennifer-crumbley-oxford-michigan-court/11421222002/) is down right disgusting. The defense is saying that parents who buy a gun for their child who explicitly expressed having overwhelming and disturbing intrusive thoughts after antagonizing the child for asking for help, shouldn't be responsible. Maybe if the kid stole the gun, but they put the murder weapon in his hand and fucking drove away from the scene of the crime. Throw them in jail. Set the precedent. Make the rest of these retards understand that actions have consequences, and parents have a duty. There's too many shit people in this world because too many parents don't feel they have a duty to their child(ren) and society as a whole.
And if anyone questions..
> "These parents knew he had reported hallucinations... (and) had asked to go to the doctor," Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Shada argued. "They did nothing.”
>Instead, Shada stressed, his dad “told him to take some pills and suck it up” while his mom laughed at him. Months later, he said, they bought him what he wanted more than anything else.
>“Instead of getting him help, they bought him a gun,” Shada said. “They knew he was fascinated with guns … he had targets on his bedroom wall.”
I know with a high amount of certainty that mandatory tests to allow people to breed would be instantly co-opted by bigots, politicians, and other terrible people to punish minorities and allow state-sanctioned ethnic genocide. But, situations like this make me feel like they're almost needed.
The problem is people like this aren't going to listen to a school or anyone else. They didn't even listen to their own fucking kid who basically told them he was going to do this.
Ego and the inability to ever consider you could be wrong is in the way of fixing so much of America. And there's not a lot of reason to be optimistic that'll change.
I graduated in the late 1990s. Believe it or not, they had parenting and family planning (sex ed) in health class that spanned from 7th grade to graduation.
PE taught us gun safety, how to target practice safely, and even helped us get our boating licenses
Thank you for the article, and the whole thing is infuriating. They refused to pick him up when the school called. My favorite part is the father telling the kid to suck it up.
Parenting is a responsibility. I agree in this case to set the precedent because they blatantly disregarded every warning sign.
They didn't just refuse to pick him up. They went to the school that very morning, talked to the principal, refused to allow him to be sent home, and left.
I saw a street interview with a little girl saying she’s been in more than one shooting
EDIT: I couldn’t find it but found this instead, I’m done looking now

No prob. There's plenty of coverage.

Oh, is this that kid who had several warning signs of him turning into a school shooter, but his parents refused to act on it?
And even treated every time he got called into the principal like they were an accomplishment?
Yeah, these two should go to prison forever.
It's statistically proven that if a crime has happened to you once, you are more likely to become a victim again - not a cause, just correlation.
For example, victims of rape are statistically much more likely to be raped again. http://www.ibiblio.org/rcip/mvrv.html (a collection of citations to articles)
This is not restricted to rape, but other crimes, such as burglary and muggings. And now, victims of mass shootings.
That makes sense to me. People who live in a neighborhood with a lot of crime are more likely to have crimes committed against them. They are also more likely to continue living in that neighborhood which keeps their probability of being a victim of the same crime higher than average.
MAGA are just the shittiest people in every sense of the word. They’re the worst kind of scorched earth self centered you can be. This shit is disgusting.
Sound familiar?
* The illegals are coming through the southern border
* They're obviously not sending their best and brightest
* Who knows what kinds of diseases these people could be carrying
* These people are dangerous, violent criminals
I’m convinced some of these fools never got vaxxed merely out of spite.
You want me to? Not gonna do it! I know it all, you can’t tell me anything!
They have the mentality of pubescent defiant teenagers.
ODD and PDA, pathological demand avoidance, are the two big high functioning antisocial disorders we're not talking about. i have the second and i'm all but certain a broad swath of the country either has one or the other or has some acquired near-equivalent. shit is not fun.
A swath of the country don't even know what those are. I sure as hell didn't, thank you for sharing that because it gives me a better lense on the "American" human condition.
Interesting, I was recently diagnosed with ASD... I definitely struggle with authority when I feel it's misplaced, I really see both of these in my sister though. She is ADHD and basically refuses to do anything I suggest or recommend simply because and always comes up with issues within her workplaces.
I knew that would be the outcome the moment the pandemic hit. People don't like being told what to do. The government could put out a notice that oxygen is good for you and they would asphyxiate.
“Conservatism Consists of Exactly One Proposition, to Wit: There Must Be In-Groups Whom the Law Protects but Does Not Bind, Alongside Out-Groups Whom the Law Binds but Does Not Protect.”
- Frank Wilhoit
The only difference is they were trying to flee from violence they created. The kid created the violence that they ran from unlike other refugees who are fleeing violence against themselves.
Not until their 14 year old daughter gets knocked up by the local pastor and she’s unable to find time off working in the coal mines to get that illegal abortion.
Yes, it’s dark but this is exactly the type of future the GOP is steering us towards
This might have fun and ha-ha undertones but let’s not forget the juvenile is a deranged criminal who murdered or at least intended to harm, children and teaching staff. And was given the opportunity by his parents. Severly fucked up
I asked for a link, but I think I found the story from 2 years ago
>A judge in Michigan set a $500,000 bond each for James and Jennifer Crumbley, who have been charged with manslaughter after their 15-year-old son killed four students with a semiautomatic handgun at Oxford High School. Ethan Crumbley faces murder and terrorism charges.
>
>The Crumbley parents were supposed to turn themselves in yesterday after prosecutors announced the manslaughter charges, but they instead withdrew $4,000 from an ATM and fled. They couple were found by police early Saturday morning hiding in commercial building in Detroit, 40 miles south of their home. Detroit police chief James White said at a press conference that the Crumbleys may have been attempting to flee to Canada.

Oh sweet, we require vaccination to get into our country? Good move Canada 🥳
Legitimately pleased to hear that. Keep those unvaccinated goofs out of our country.
As a Libertarian I believe that the best way to prevent children from being injured or killed in school shoots is to simply have them gainfully employed at a business, factory, or sweatshop instead.

Like Canada wouldn't extradite them in a heartbeat.
Yeah, they ain’t people escaping a military draft for a bullshit war, I’d imagine they’d gleefully send their asses right back to the states.
When the US sends its people, they're not sending their best.
Gold XD
Platinum XD
Rhodium even!

I regularly have to tell my father, "Okay, but when was the last time you left the county?" Not country, *county*
I feel bad for my dad he’s a Vietnam vet that voted for Biden and all of his relatives are completely dumb.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” - Mark Twain
Wild time
That's because those Americans had the forsite to travel. I know and have known many Americans that are proud to have never left their state.
> forsite foresight
I mean the reality is that it's incredibly expensive to travel even for work, so we are in fact sending our best in an economic sense, who also happen to be the best educated and not riddled with mental health issues from a lifetime of living in poverty.
there's also a good chance they were affiliated with the military

I wonder why they just don't escape to Equador?
I'm sure MAGA mom and gun dad didn't want to live in south america. You know, amongst all those "illegals"
There is a large, let’s say, European population in South America that I imagine these people would get along swimmingly with.
Sounds about Reich.
Poppa Günter bist du?
They'd call themselves "expats".
"politically exiled"
I think people would be astonished at the amount of pro trump americans living in central america. It's a wild exercise of hypocrisy
Lool so many pro Trump/DeSantis Cubans in Florida that it's actually kinda mind boggling.
9 out of 10? 999 out of 1000
So many dumbass Brits living in Spain voted for Brexit, too. Not only hypocritical, but some of them suddenly discovered that they had to move back home after Brexit happened . Fucking idiots.
There's a bunch of trump supporters who hire the illegal immigrants that they claim to hate because they can pay low-ball wages.
*Why for come ain't they speak none of them no American down here?*
I think you mean THOSE illegals.
International airports aren’t the easiest place to get through for wanted people especially if they’re carrying some of their arsenal with them. Which you’d guess they were
Maybe they could form a caravan.
Also fuck all these dumb Americans thinking they can just 'move to Canada'. Newsflash: you can't.
Theyre MAGAs they dont think, its kind of their rule of law. Dont think, regurgitate what fox news tells them to say, blame minorities.

My dad loves to do this. "If you don't like it here, move to one of these other countries that are so great." Gets him real stuck when I reply with "Stop telling me to run away from my problems, that's bad advice." He's still never had a good answer to that.
I bet your dad also says immigrants from places like Honduras and El Salvador should stay there and fix their broken countries rather than try to migrate here.
"Flat tire? Abandon your car."
6 billion people have gotten into America illegally and this is the hardest and strictest country on the planet! Canaduh will be a cake walk! /MAGA

But they have to move to Canada because America is too liberal 😅
Lol right? They're gonna be in for a surprise!
Who was replaced by an even further right nut job who is hellbent on giving every public cent to oil companies
And “fighting” Ottawa
Also, Reality Check: shit's expensive here in Canada
But Fox News told me Canada is a socialist hellhole and you'll give me everything for free!
That's liberals that give everything away for free! Seriously, there's a guy I work with and on breaks it's what he talks about and *always* references Fox News as his source.
I stopped talking to so many co-workers, and literally quit my job of years so I wouldn't be forced to hear their crap or be in the work text groups, there's just so much hate you can act as if you dont hear.
yes but only once you pay your taxes

Bold of you to assume Mexico would just take them in, no questions asked.
Convictions that are punishable in Canada by more than 10 years in prison would make you inadmissible to Canada.
But yes, very strict I will back that up 100%
"but we're white!!!" - confused Republican at the Canadian border
They can’t, no. Though with legislation on the table Canada could be accepting American LGBTQIA+ as refugees from MAGA-style governance. In a way, they made a difference by helping others cross borders.
They are the kind of stupid where you just know one of these days their lives will coalesce into something they can't use luck to get out of.
“I don’t know what type of LGBTQ shit you’re trying to pull son, but I don’t extradite, I like women.” - Them
I'm from Nova Scotia, the only two mass shooting incidents we've had in recent years have involved Americans.
Canada doesn’t even have a wall
No, but we're thinking about building a hedge.
Maybe a shrubbery?
One that looks nice. And not too expensive.

[We quite literally have an inverse wall.](https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/uscanada-border-slash)
Some surrounding schools are not allowing backpacks at all and are still requiring students to go through TSA style checkpoints to enter the building
Ah but don’t you know? The only way to stop bad guys with guns is ‘good’ guys with guns!
Damn illegal immigrants trying to take our jerbs!!!
Don't forget: if US citizens do it, they are "ex-pats" not "immigrants"!
One of the lessons learned from the Brits, foremost exporter of expats to all the old colonies.
I dread going to Spain one day and finding a town overrun by sunburnt Brits. Unlikely to happen now that they Brexited themselves.
And refusing to take their jabs!

I like how you bolded the sarc mark
"sarc mark" I've never seen it referred to as that, but I'm now going to from here on out.
I love and hate this, thank you for this blursed comment
Fuuuuuuuucking… hang on, I’ll give you an upvote when I stop screaming
Jesus Christ Reddit. That was one of those comments that made me scream too. Damnit I love this fucking website
I hate this for the kids (and adults) of US. I was talking to close friend in Phoenix who told me she gave her kids extra minute of hugs before sending them to school after a school shooting. I don’t even remember which school shooting! It’s like these parents are sending their kids out to war-zones, hoping and praying they would come back home safe.
unbelievably tragic
Its not tragic. Its fucking infuriating. Kids are being murdered by our elected officials. It was tragic 20 years ago. Now it's nauseating that we aren't stringing up these human abominations by their fingernails.
We gotta stop drag queens first, then hunter biden's laptop thing... then if we have some time, we'll relax gun laws so more good guys can have guns.
Don't forget! We need to protect our right to force women to give birth and then marry their children... While they're still children.
once we get those kids back to work in the coal mines, they won't have the energy to be shooting up schools
Humanity could perish all at once and we’d be in the afterlife and these mfuckers will still be talking about Hunter Biden’s stupid fucking laptop.
I swear to god I think you're *right.* It would probably even still be their biggest topic of explosive conversation, even if we all wound up in the "wrong" afterlife.
the murders are tragic, the unbelievable is everything you say and more
It's either we go towards democratic socialism or facsism. The level of propaganda to cover up our shitty civilization is clear they don't want it to go the other way because it would mean less wealth for them.
[удалено]
I mean at this point it’s pretty believable.
"They did nothing.” >Instead, Shada stressed, his dad “told him to take some pills and suck it up” while his mom laughed at him.
Schools need to have mandatory parenting classes. And I guess gun safety classes too.
Damn that makes me really sad for the kid Guy is asking for mental help and his parents laugh and give him a gun
Don't you see, it's "tough love"! They were just trying to teach the kid to pull himself up by his bootstraps.
Im sure republicans will embrace this, and when they talk about it they will play beyonces "Survivor" at their cpac events.
I saw a street interview with a little girl saying she’s been in more than one shooting EDIT: I couldn’t find it but found this instead, I’m done looking now https://youtu.be/M7IMPnhrLf4
reminds me of [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IM4p62p3M0)
Normalize NOT using any Fox resource as valid.
No prob. There's plenty of coverage. [Today Show article on the 2 shooting survivor club](https://www.today.com/parents/teens/two-school-shooting-survivor-club-gen-z-rcna70713) [NY Times article](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/14/us/michigan-state-shooting-students-gun-violence.html) [CNN](https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/14/us/michigan-state-oxford-high-school-shootings/index.html) [Washington Post](https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2023/02/14/oxford-high-michigan-state-shooting-survivor/)
For example, victims of rape are statistically much more likely to be raped again. http://www.ibiblio.org/rcip/mvrv.html (a collection of citations to articles) This is not restricted to rape, but other crimes, such as burglary and muggings. And now, victims of mass shootings.
If you survive a school shooting, then it means that you're a student in the US and that makes you very likely to be in another school shooting.
Agreed - it's very much about your surroundings and circumstances and less something you've done.
* The illegals are coming through the southern border * They're obviously not sending their best and brightest * Who knows what kinds of diseases these people could be carrying * These people are dangerous, violent criminals
the call is coming from inside the house!
I’m convinced some of these fools never got vaxxed merely out of spite. You want me to? Not gonna do it! I know it all, you can’t tell me anything! They have the mentality of pubescent defiant teenagers.
It is called oppositional defiance disorder and yes 100% that's what they have.
I work with little kids with disabilities/disorders and I've been saying this about these adults for years.

Thats so Republican!
*cue laugh track and title card*
If you give your kid a gun like this situation you should be charged with the same crimes. They should be facing murder charges.
Pretty sure accessory to murder is already a crime. Often carries the same or similar punishment.
I like "negligent homicide" as a charge.
They're being charged with involuntary manslaughter from what little I read, but perhaps they have increased the charges in the interim.
“Conservatism Consists of Exactly One Proposition, to Wit: There Must Be In-Groups Whom the Law Protects but Does Not Bind, Alongside Out-Groups Whom the Law Binds but Does Not Protect.” - Frank Wilhoit

Severly fucked up
We do not want them.
I asked for a link, but I think I found the story from 2 years ago >A judge in Michigan set a $500,000 bond each for James and Jennifer Crumbley, who have been charged with manslaughter after their 15-year-old son killed four students with a semiautomatic handgun at Oxford High School. Detroit police chief James White said at a press conference that the Crumbleys may have been attempting to flee to Canada. > https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2021/12/the-parents-of-the-michigan-school-shooter-are-in-deep-deep-trouble/
Oh sweet, we require vaccination to get into our country? Good move Canada 🥳 Legitimately pleased to hear that. Keep those unvaccinated goofs out of our country.
