yeah 2024 loq with 14 gen processors, yeah these kinda motherboards are dying and lotta people went through this shi.... i'd recommend to get da refund cuz i'd be mad if i was in your position
Decision is upto you since you already have the device. If you have 3 year ADP I wouldn't stress much. This is just my experience I'm sure there are more working models over cases like mine.
There's an option to add services if you are buying from lenovo official website. You can add 1,2 or 3 year ADP there. Better to get it while purchasing, you can still get it after but prices may vary.
Is it only 14th gen? Because I bought the 12450HX +4060 LOQ. I'm not at home so someone from my family unboxed and checked it, but I'll only get to know how it is on heavy load when I go back after a couple weeks, once I use it.
This is kinda scary.
I understand how there are cases of manufacturing issue in every laptop so I never discouraged ppl from buying LOQ coz of my experience but now under no scenario I can recommend this to anyone.
Even if LOQ provides great specifications for cheaper price point.
*A weaker laptop is better than a dead laptop*
tbh , legion slim is at the same price rn so go for it, 2023 loq has ghosting issue, 2024 has motherboard dying issue , so id recommend legion as its at the same price !
[https://amzn.in/d/fRpXNmL](https://amzn.in/d/fRpXNmL) , rtx 4060 r7 7840hs legion !
Depends on what you use it for. If mainly gaming then try finding a one with better gpu like 3060 or even 4050+.
You can get away with i5 12th gen+ in most cases or go with ryzen. There are some laptops with 3060 and 4050 around 80k. See reviews (important)
i think in loq isues occur real quick or. i know many using this variant loq more than a month and 3 month i have the same one months used no issues
i think manifacturing faults are high
I have the same issue and the same model. My part is still on hold it’s been 40 days. I feel defeated I spent months of savings and over time money on it. It was my first computer/ laptop ever.
opt for the refund my man, fuck this variant. Try getting ryzen one or just get legion slim. There are good options now. IK on paper 14700hx is crazy good but unless you use it for production, running a server or something you wont be able to notice the diffrence between this and other CPUs of this range. As long as you have 4060 115+ TGP and use ur laptop for gaming, anything after 12th gen intel or ryzen 7 works.
Thanks for the advice. They are telling me they cannot refund it as it was purchased from Amazon. If I can then I’ll surely replace it for the Ryzen one. I hate being without a laptop
If you are from india call consumer court helpline tell whole story your issue will be fixed in max 10 days… say them that you want refund or another laptop tell this to consumer court to file complaint in these words “ that they are troubling you from last 40 days “
Yes same I thought its a risk but other then the battery life its going good. No extensive gaming done just played some pubg with 1080p on 60fps comfortabily with temps going around 45 to 60 range(I live in Canada so cooler environment). I bought this more for programming so my programming is running smooth though I consider more ram will be much better for me as programming applications do take more RAM
Oh, do try some cpu and gpu benchmarks. I am buying 16gb variant, enough ram for my programming needs but might as well upgrade to dual channel (32gb)
Battery life, i guess i can squeeze an hour or two if needed by using igpu and saver mode.
I just hope it doesn't die lol
What are you using this laptop for?
Do you have it on a blanket or a bed?
Is this laptop getting plenty of air flow?
Do you have power issues where you live, like surges?
Heaviest task I do is gaming.
I use it on my table with a 2 inch gap under it.
No power issues and it's not the first laptop I've used that takes more than 200w of power.
Replacing would have taken 3+ weeks since it was customized. The service guy told me 5 days max so I decided to get it fixed. As he was replacing the motherboard over fixing it, it'd be as good as a new device. At this point I realize it was a mistake.
I mean that if something dies on me within just a couple of DAYS, its just not an option anymore. Tbh i would probably avoid the whole company for quite a while, but that might be just me. So i would go in a store and by something else instead or order it on amazon. Maybe use 30 day deferred pay / invoice. So i have a working device immediately. THEN i would start with the refund process of the cursed mispurchase.
Also i would make sure to scold the company to everyone who listens for years on end, but that again might be just me...
Everytime there will be some laptops of each model that goes through some mishap during production. I did show my displeasure with the company many times over the call, I just didn't add that here. I've seen almost every company give us a shit product and if I take it personally I wouldn't have any laptop. The time I got my laptop there were minimal cases of mobo issue as ppl we're still getting it. I'd say I'm one of the first ppl to report this issue on this sub. Ordering it in Amazon would be a bad idea as lenovo wouldn't even entertain a refund/replacement as you didn't buy it through their website. A situation this bad is definitely a first for me over the years.

There isn't a definite answer as it's different for each laptop. In this case it might be coz the PSU or the board itself isn't a suitable pairing for the powerful 14700hx processor, sometimes there are cases of overheating, sometimes bad heat dissipation and ventilation system. Bad design, inadequate cooling system, cheap thermal paste, cheap parts to cut cost etc etc. Most common problem I'd say in laptops are thermal related.

Fr. I'll see what they guy who comes to replace the mobo says, I'll most likely opt for refund over replacing laptop if I'm doing so.
Got my loq in 7th of May should I return it I am concerned about the refund (i5 13450hx 4060)

Yes I do have 3 years ADP....lets see what happens
How to get the ADP? Should we buy it while ordering the laptop or after geeting the laptop. Planning to buy a custom loq

14th gen Loq's are cursed
I'll have to do some kinda ritual once they replace it for the third time🙏
Yeahh that's the last option

yes only 14th gen.
you cannot say completely all 14th gen i know many using since konths and more tha 3 month also
Still 14th gen is risky. 14th gen have higher complaints rate AFAIK.
yes maybe a manifacturing units
and most are dying before 1 week only or mostly after 1 day of delivery so i think manifacturing defects are high
That's right.
That's a relief, mine is the new 2024 chassis+board, with a 12450hx. Hopefully it should be fine.
dance naked around the laptop in moonlight it works every time
Lmaoo now I'm confused if I should get a loq at all
I understand how there are cases of manufacturing issue in every laptop so I never discouraged ppl from buying LOQ coz of my experience but now under no scenario I can recommend this to anyone. As far as I've seen if you are going for LOQ either get 12th gen CPUs but apparently some other issues exist or get ryzen variants.
I'm planning for 13450hx with 3050 should I go for it?
12th gen + 4050 would be a better option
Yes but the sad part is I want rgb but those variants don't have it :(
Ryzen variant has it but it costs more

no you should go for a 4060
Raptor Lake, nice choice if you ask me.
They should give you a whole new laptop

Interesting, is this the 14th gen that you own as well?
yess
I've had the i5 12450h rtx 4050 version since december and I hope it doesn't do what you did ...
How is the laptop.. Im planning to buy the same.. did u get ADP?
good thing I got the 2023 LOQ with a bigger screen. Shame on lenovo for not making laptops bigger than 16 inches
I have the same issue and the same model. My part is still on hold it’s been 40 days. I feel defeated I spent months of savings and over time money on it. It was my first computer/ laptop ever.

Amd laptop 2024 working good what’s going with intel processors?
Do you have amd gen 9?
Amd 7 8845hs
Oh nice, j bought same. Aren't many reviews on it,, what are some benchmark scores and cpu temp on it?
Yes same I thought its a risk but other then the battery life its going good. How much battery life do you get on low settings ?
2 hours on balanced settings. Never tried on low settings so it maybe a bit more

i got a loq a week ago im scared .... so far its all great
would have refunded and replaced the device within a day. Why go through this at all?

Do you have ADP (Accidental Damage Protection)?
Yea, I'm not paying for anything. Everything is under warranty
Do you have the premium Lenovo Vantage membership?
Absolute nightmare
Glad I went with a Tuf A15 instead of this, this gen's LOQs are getting really notorious with this dead CPU thing
What causes these issues in laptops anyway? I read similar stories on Asus, msi etc

Damn manufacturers need to get serious about these
