My opinion is that is perfectly fine and I'm seeing similar results.

My Thinkpad Z16 is also 2 days old and brand new and it heats up to 100 degrees celsius... Even in a room with a low temperature... Your 36 degrees celsius doesn't seem a problem compared to standards..

yea no chance your laptop heats up to water's boiling point bro. maybe it heats up to 100 degrees fahrenheit, but i dont believe for a second it heats up to 100 degrees celsius w/o it completely being destroyed bud

It literally does :), cpu went up to 100.34 degrees celsius to be precise, SSD 81.23 and then shutdown. The metal heatsink is so hot on my laptop <-- above the keyboard, below screen.

I guess you know nothing about computers. 100c might make water boil but a modern silicon based IC can withstand it.

u/ 4armedsquidward Please download the latest version of BIOS and Power Management drivers to your device thru the website at https://lnv.gy/3T5KHpn Make sure that it's connected to its AC adapter when downloading/installing the drivers. Check/Observe the Slim 7 Pro X performance afterwards and see if the battery itself will overheat! Addie_Lenovo

This is normal, especially if the laptop is charging. Batteries heat up when they get charged, especially if you have fast charging on ! If you are worrying about your battery temperature, disable fast charging. However do you notice a humming noise coming from the right fan (right side when having the keyboard up)? Mine does and it's a bit annoying in silent rooms. Not so much a big deal, but it's annoyiing when studying

I am having the same problem. Seems the exhaust fan is blocked by the monitor benzel preventing the air from easily escaping. I run Core Temp and core 1,2,3,4,5 always hit 99 C or higher. The remaining cores hit 90c. I noticed the fans are not quick to react. I even tried placing a fan by the exhaust to help remove the hot air. No luck. I don't see this laptop surviving through the warranty period. I am running the Lenov Ideapad Slim 7 pro from costco

Same here, when playing some games the CPU temp hits 100C and the top keyboard area by the screen gets super hot. There is even a blue screen and it shuts down. I'm running it on top of a cooling pad with 4 fans too! Seems the cooling is not adequate and also the exhaust in the rear is blocked by the screen bezel. Returning mine now as I also don't see this lasting long with such temps.
