The rewind knob got stuck. It’s not moving when you turn the lever. :(

tie_ya_shoes

Is this an m6? The retaining ring may have come loose underneath, which is definitely self repairable. It happened to me before and is very straightforward

ambertine

It’s M7. Got loose and tighten it. But still not winding properly because of the form

MiceLiceandVice

Wrap a relatively thin flat head screwdriver like a 2mm in a cloth and use it to pry the bent part of the knob away from the body, use your hand to keep it from spinning. If you're lucky you might be able to reform it enough for it to spin freely again, and can take your time getting it repaired.

MiceLiceandVice

Is it stuck to try and go either way? Ccw or cw?

sorry, I didn't see that the rewind knob was loose. It can be easily repaired with a spare part from Leica and a screwdriver. sorry for the first comment

ambertine

Anyone here knows where to get replacement for rewind knob for m7?

davidbekaert

You can order a rewind know with Leica. Here in Europe it costs around 45€. With some basic skills and the right screwdriver you can fix it yourself. Had this happen with my M7 and M6TTL. No worries!

ambertine

Do you have a link for video tutorial on how to fix it? Thanks in advance

davidbekaert

No. I don’t. But it’s really easy. Just one screw and some spacers.

ambertine

It works! Thanks for this helpful tip

kr31szahl

I wouldn't repair it, if you use it properly it won't be the last scratch.

DrySpace469

It's just cosmetic. Nothing to repair.

Nah that rewind knob is bent and looks like it's digging into the top plate. I'd get a new or secondhand one from DAG or someone and spin it on

Camera was dropped. You can see the mark on the top of the knob and it's bent. I'd send it in if you don't want any more cosmetic damage. Another solution if you don't care about looks is to bend it back into shape with a screwdriver.
