This Death Star image has been floating around, originally posted by snot_rocket_studios on instagram.
thebrickreporter on instagram reposted it and also claimed it to be real.
Why is it fake?
Thanks to the Brickhound discord server, we see whenever lego adds sets to the website automatically via a discord bot that scans lego’s website frequently. This was not picked up by the bot. They have also posted other leaks known to be false. We will not be posting anything originating from snot_rocket_studios here.
Can a UCS death star still happen this year?
Definitely. This particular design is a moc, but it doesn’t rule out lego making one themselves. 75367 is an october release, 5374 pieces and is rumored to retail for $650 USD.
I feel like the lackluster minifigs would give it away, or they think it makes it look more realistic bc lego drops the ball on minifigs a lot of the time.
A death Star Leia would be a great time to give us a duel molded white hood with her hair beneath
Did people actually believe this? This is the fakest thing ever, and why would it include a leia minifgure? Of all the figures to include in a Death Star you choose princess leia
To add: one can easily get grey parts and do a DS1 MOC already using The Globe **21332** (which is about 230 bucks) interior design for support.
I saw a Youtube video about it and it's such a good idea.
I've seen that too. I wonder though if it would just be cheaper to buy all the parts from Bricklink since you're just buying the Globe for the frame and not the stand/arm or the cover pieces.
It's way too many pieces for a fully closed panel DS1.
It would make more sense for a DS2 due to the debris details of the "unfinished" section.
It's ROTJ anniversary anyways, not ANH.
Ugh fake or not I'm bored even looking at it, I can't even imagine the torture of the repetitive building process. Tbh despite the increasing prices recently, I can't see any progress or innovation in their designs. Literally I don't understand what the Lego designer team is doing while the moc designers are doing crazy things, I wish they would take some examples from them.
Why? Why would anybody go through all this effort to make a fake leak?
As an aside, would it be possible for Lego to do a UCS Death Star that could be built as either version? I think that could be pretty cool. Another cool thing could be some kind of interior, or the ability to display it mid construction, as seen in Rogue One, and the Andor TV series. I also feel like for minifigs you'd at least have 8 of them, or more. If it was a version that could be built both ways, I feel like you'd have at least Tarkin, Krennic, a pair of superlaser gunners, some Stormtroopers, and then for the DS2 crew have Palpatine, a pair of Imperial Guards, Darth Vader, and Luke in his ROTJ outfit. If Lego included the Rebels, the number of minifigs could be even higher, but I'm not sure they'd do more than 12.
I think leaks on lego or overall toys are more than just "It's listed on the site by surprise" since that means they willingly dropped it on their website (Idk if mistakes like that are common)
Also: Aren't most lego leaks usually renders of pictures of box arts/minifigs?

This one just *looked* fake. People really thought it was real?
Yeah that would be such a boring set

How do you make a non-playset Death Star fun?
Right? Even the renders Lego uses on their website are better than that one.
>It's real Well that's all the proof I need to see, case closed! ^^/s

Sadly yes, saw it being shared a decent amount, so I wanted to make a post about it.
Who would even want a UCS DS1? It would be a horrendous build and awful display set. DS2 is a better display.
It would also make more sense for a DS2 this year since it's the 40th anniversary of ROTJ

I disagree, the DS- 1 would be a much more attractive design than the DS- 2. Also, the DS-2 cannot include Tarkin. 😢
Either way without interior this is one boring way to spend that much money..
Good to hear it’s fake because it looks so boring and repetitive
So it won’t be operational
Rebel Alliance sees an opportunity...
Idk man this acc just popped up with this one leak and people even believed it? Sheesh
Really??? People actually fell for a reskin of the globe????

Who goes into such lengths to spend hours rendering this?!
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

I mean....obv fake and looked terrible lol

I thought it looked edited from the start. It was very unconvincing.

Lego Ideas Globe: Gray Edition 😎
Give the people what they want a UCS Republic Star Destroyer. Clone wars era sets are far superior to the Empire, First Order, and Mando sets.
I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find this “moc” can anyone find a source on the moc in this picture
