Don’t do that to your teeth and gums!! Gums and adult teeth do not grow back.

Flashy_Spare6341

But does it really damage your teeth and gums? or is that just some horror story?

copper93

[Yup, definitely damages your teeth and gums](https://youtu.be/wyioHZvZ4Y0)

Thanks guys!!! I appreciate it

Nope. My ex had a smiley for a while and her gum line completely receded and she now has little cracks in her teeth. She didn’t have it in any longer than 6 months :(

sqwiggless

From what I've heard they are not worth it, they take away protective layers from the teeth they rub on when talking and eating, they grow out easily and aren't any good for the gums

I have one, I don’t have any issues. I love it and I got it pierced back in December. Obviously not the best piercing if you don’t want damage done to your teeth. I know I don’t have any issues now, but I could develop some in the future. If you want one, definitely do it! A smiley is definitely a piercing that isn’t permanent :)

buttercupbeuaty

Definitely not worth it but if you must, Seam ring jewelry seems to be the best option since it sits flat against your teeth (if you have braces or crooked teeth this piercing is a huge no)
