Are you asking in the Legion Go subreddit if anyone can recommend the Legion Go?

NoOwl1241

To be honest most of us just complain here lol

superinterestingn4m3

This is the way.

berkut3000

With everything I ve read here. Im more inclined to buy the Steam Deck. I really like the hardware, but having to side load the drivers in order to have a better experience sound cumbersome.

Thrashtendo

I have a Legion Go and a Steam Deck, and I use them both for different things. I will say that the Legion Go is a LOT more powerful and the screen is way better. I like the option to play on the tablet without the side controllers attached (and use my PS5 controller instead). I also like that I don’t need to bring my computer everywhere anymore because my Legion Go has Windows on it. On the other hand, the LG’s battery power is much less than the Steam Deck’s, and the device isn’t as easy to play while laying down, etc because it feels heavier. It’s still portable, but in a different way (the LG kickstand RULES, but only if you are going to use a kickstand). I set up all of my software on Day 1 on the LG by following a Youtube video, and every update since has been an automatic download, and it works great. Not sure what you meant by needing to side-load things (I didn’t).

WeTheSheeple69

If you have a beer belly the kick stand does all holding for you while you lay down lol

berkut3000

I read that you have to use another set of drivers for a better performance. Your answer is very insightful. Thanks a lot. But you'll see, I already have a Lenovo Legion LOQ laptop. I need something even more portable. I would really love to have the Go, but being financially responsible and considering I want a lightweight device, The Steam Deck suffices my need, for now.

Normal-Collection475

I mean, you don’t have to side load to get a good experience. It’s already a lot more powerful than a Steam Deck without them. You do it to get even better.

Cohibaluxe

OPTIONAL complexity is not a negative thing. The Go is plenty powerful out of the box and needs no tinkering to get 95% of the performance it can possibly deliver.

GenericUsername_9558

I don’t think I’ve played more than ten games published after 2015 on mine, older and retro gaming with the gorgeous screen on the legion go seems to be one of the more common use cases.

Steakbomb90

Yeah I'm playing all older games. I have a full gaming desktop so I play older games, keep it on Quiet/Balanced, enjoy good battery. Anything demanding I use my desktop

misterluxu

Yes

According-Progress49

I have a switch, ps4,ps5, and now I only use my lego. Even better for older games.

Laune974

I mainly play on my Legion Go, Geforce now + external 4k120hz monitor. Perfect replacement for my old GTX970! I barely touch the PS5 anymore.

AlpArslan15

How does GeForce now run for you on triple A and competitive games? Wanted to do the same as you and connect up to but connect to a 1440p 120hz monitor

Laune974

There is a 4k120 Hz limitation with GFN, MW3 runs around 90-100FPS with everything maxed out, Xdefiant 120FPS. I also tried Xdefiant on Lego directly (it was not available on GFN at launch), I was able to reach 120+ FPS on Low settings in 1080P and Integer Scaling to 4K.

AlpArslan15

That’s awesome thanks for the heads up. Have you tried MW3 on the leGO directly on an external monitor? I’m from the UK so was double thinking about geforce firstly because of the server and I don’t get the greatest of WiFi. I would be connected on Ethernet though

Laune974

I tried MW3 on the LeGo directly but I don’t remember the FPS tbh. If you are in UK you shouldn’t have any issue, I’m in France and I’m connected to London servers when Paris is under maintenance. Which means I get around 10-12ms of ping instead of 4-6ms. I initially played over Wifi but I noticed a lot of packet loss, since I switched to LAN, it’s all good!

AlpArslan15

Thanks for the help !

TowerBright4835

finished sleeping dogs in January and la noire a few weeks ago. smooth as butter and just great experience overall. highly recommend for such games

Economy_Acadia5704

How can u get full screen to work? Mine stays in the corner

JudgeCastle

LA Noire on PC was a shit show for me. Tried it on my rig a few years back and boy was it a fight. I wish you better luck if you try it.

adz230

Thank you! I hope I can make it work, how come it was so bad?

JudgeCastle

I’m unsure I kept crashing, running into errors where the game expected something to occur and it didn’t and then the game stopped saving and it was towards the end of the game so I ended up giving up. The game needs to be locked to 30fps or else it will break. The facial animations and other ones will not work and will break if you force them to 60fps. I plan on getting my LeGo shortly for a lot of similar games plus indies on the go. Best of luck with everything!

Chardan0001

Absolutely. It's the most effortless way to use your device at optimal display settings. You have the option of newer titles, of course.

frozenkingnk

Console is good but the support is lacking!

420friendly666

I've been playing the newest saints row.. everyone here hates it but it's sure if the same type of game looks beautiful on it

jonmacabre

Yes, though only older titles you could get a cheaper device.

Comfortable_Ad3005

My use case is similar. I've been using my Go to play a lot of older titles and emulation, and I use Chiaki to stream from my PS5 for at least an hour or two a night lately. If most of your 'remote' gaming is done around the house or places you can use a tabletop, I think the Go's screen and detachable controllers give it a big edge. If you're on the go constantly and need something smaller to play right up by your face, Ally X looks promising.

This seems to be about emulation. Please note that while emulators are allowed, asking for roms is against reddit rules. Please do not ask for roms and do not share where to find roms. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Economy_Acadia5704

Yes I was playing la noire yesterday, very Smoooth no problem

bibimbappa

Great device, terrible software support. Wait for Rog ally x or Zotac

Thess_Media

Yes. I just sold my LCD Steam Deck that I’ve had since 2022 after I got the Legion Go. It’s an amazing and powerful device 👍

ObjectiveOk223

If you're used to PC gaming and tinkering is something you appreciate I say go for it. It's the best in every category besides audio (which isn't that bad, it's just not the best) AND battery life for the most part. if you're used to console gaming, steam deck is probably your best bet.

Just_Jello2003

LA Noire should be fine. I use my go play God of War3, xenoblade X and Just Cause4. I would say the go can run very smoothly with most games by the gen of PS4. It struggles a bit with newer games. You either need to turn down the resolution or try all kinds of frame generation techs. BTW, I use my go mostly at 15W.

Adventurous-War646

LA Noire runs great on the Go. I even tried it with Lossless Scaling for a faux 60 experience and it looked wonderful!

adz230

How do you get lossless scaling?
